foreign welcome to this video where I will be showing you how to do a blender render and this is not the correct I wouldn't say that there is necessarily A proper correct way um this is only really the way that I know how to um of course there is other tutorials um if you need more in depth but I will try to go as detailed as I possibly can maybe even make a part two for stuff that I've left out if I do leave it out but for now I am going to start off with the basics so what you want to do first is you want to go to your collection here and you want to press delete hierarchy not just delete because it won't delete everything and then of course you want to put your Avatar in blender um how to do that I will probably make a separate video on but to sum it up you want to put your fbx in blender and you also want to get the textures for your Abby and I will also be showing if you have certain textures that don't necessarily work on blender for you I will kind of go into depth of how you could possibly fix it now that you have your avatar and blender what you want to do is I know that this looks not right and if you are new to blender which I don't think anybody would be looking at this if they were new to blender I'm not sure though but regardless what you want to do for this first I'd say get rid of all the accessories that you don't want used in the image that you are going to render because they will show up in the render um so essentially what I do is I get the pieces of clothing that I won't use in the render um and I will also show how to delete actually while I'm at it you want to grab whatever it is um maybe not this actually maybe this um you want to click on it and you want to press X and press delete and you're going to do it do that for everything rather than going in here and pressing delete now we are in the stage of almost posing what you want to do is that you want to go over here on the right and you want to right click when your cursor is like this and it has the two arrows facing the different way of each other you want to right click vertical split that is how I how I do it now what this does is that it shows you a different perspective of your Avi reason why I have this um like the way that it is because I also for the material stage and the opposing stage um you want to have this split so that way you can see what you're doing out of just posing and putting materials on your Avi so you can see what it looks like from a different perspective I find it very helpful um now the stage of where we texture it we put the textures on the Avi this is very important only because I'm actually going to show how I texture my hair first so what you want to do is you want to slide this um actually we're going to do it on the right hand side rather than the left for us you can do the left hand side if you want to I'm not saying you can't um you want to put viewport shading on the top right and what this does and I know this looks very very weird um if you're a person that this is for the first time this is nothing that I haven't seen before um this of course there's broken textures because that's just the way that the Abbey is kind of I don't know why I can't explain it um this is going to show the materials that you have on your Abbey I use this side to put the materials on the Abbey and also to pose it so I'm going to skip ahead a little bit um I'm going to click on the hair and so this is the part of where it is kind of hard to not I wouldn't say hard but it's it's it took me a while to drill this in my memory so I'm going to explain it as best as I possibly can you are going to on the left side go up to this top right corner it says editor type go all the way down to Shader editor this is going to show your materials and I know this looks very scary and intimidating for the first time um what the texture is going to look like is like this if you have a texture that looks like it's see-through or it might be like the side shave on my avatar maybe you have the same Avatar or something a little more complex but regardless you want to drag this and you want to put this in here and you want to drag the color all the way down to Alpha and with that you are going to if you are not here already you are going to look for this little circle that has this checkerboard look and you're going to scroll down all the way until you see settings or I think it is viewport display if you can't find it you want to go into blend mode you want to turn this turbo pig to Alpha blend and of course if that doesn't really work out you can put Alpha clip I wouldn't really suggest that or you can put Alpha hashed but I play Alpha blend because obviously it makes it look more smooth and it's actually the one that you're supposed to put it on [Music] um but other than that I'm going to start skipping ahead the video so that way we can get to the posing part um before I do that I am going to show you how to texture only by one way though so of course there's already textures on the Avi but these are not my textures that I use for my avatar so what you're going to do is you're gonna get your texture and you're going to put it here like I said before with the texture that's on the hair you are going to grab it you are going to grab the color you're going to drag it to base color and for me normally most of the time I put down the specular so that way you can see it the tattoo is more vividly um and that's about it for the materials part if there is any it like instructions that I had left out of course you can message me or you can comment down below what I missed and now included in a separate video but for now I am going to start texturing okay so now that we are done with that you are going to go back to editor type on the top left you're going to press 3D viewport and now we can start the posing stage or maybe the scenery stage um I would not really recommend learning how to make scenes for blender for a background but for this I will kind of put it in a tiny description of like how you can so go ahead and mesh or sorry shift a go to up to mesh Cube and for me I kind of use this as a background or a backdrop if you will um and what I do is I use the scale tool and I kind of just size it up or however you see fit um for this I kind of want a wide kind of backdrop actually let's make it bigger and this is the part of where we start posing so what you're going to do is all of these bones these things that are sticking out of your Abbey or are mature if you will you will click on the Armature like I just did and where it says object mode on the top left you are going to click and press pause mode and then while you're at that sense we need to pose every single bone that we see you are going to go up above where it says pose options and these two little boxes and of course it says toggle x-ray this is your X-ray tool this is that way you can see all the bones in your body so of course you are going to click x-ray but if you don't want to see all the bones anymore you can of course toggle It Off but for me I use X-ray and so does everybody else um posing this can go two different types of ways that you could go about this you could press a bone you could click up on and then you can press r and then you could obviously move it back and forth it rotates the arm or you can press R and then there's X Y and Z you could press R and then X moves it forward and backward R Y moves it up and down and our Z back and forth again but side to side how I usually do it if I really need to get it into a pose that I need symmetrical as possible I usually go up to this option right here next to pose options again and I press X what this does is it makes it both symmetrical on both sides like this now both of the arms will bend the same way and if I want them to they will also Bend up they will bend back obviously you get my point here but in this video I don't think I need that um but there is different types of lightings but I will get to different types of lightings after I post this so I'm going to Titan lapse and show you the process of me posing um but another way that you could do it before I time lapse is you could also grab the arm and you could also use rotate tool instead of just pressing r on your keyboard um like so which is a lot easier for a lot of people but sometimes I do instinctively use are still but this is only to make it easier for you since you are learning now it's time to time lapse foreign foreign now that you have that all set up clearly I've done some changes in the posing that I wanted um but now okay here comes the fun part um so what you are essentially going to do is you're going to click shift hold down shift a go down press camera so now what you are going to do is in the second part of the panel you are going to get the camera you are going to drag it wherever you want in the scene wherever you want the camera to be angled for your image and you are going to position it properly you are going to press the camera click click this border you are going to click the Border you are going to right click and you're going to set active camera right now for me it is enterically but of course you can change these key bindings but it is set active camera and if you zoom in obviously you can see the pose that you wanted and how it's going to look in the image um for me this part is very different on very many different occasions um so essentially what you do here is you are going to go up in the side panel again you are going to go all the way up to Output properties and this is depending on how wide you want the image um you want to put whatever resolution you want for me um I don't know exactly what I want yet um but that is all up to you um the output isn't necessarily important but I do for whatever reason I press color depth to 16 and I put down the compression um and you are going to go up to render properties and sampling this is important um you are not going to put it on Eevee um but what you are going to do now is you're going to go to viewport shading this is gonna this is what it's gonna look like in your render sorry um there was a Interruption during the recording but what you are going to do now since you are in this rendering output properties option you are going to go to render engine from EV to Cycles this is what I use I use Cycles I don't use EB because well it's not as much better quality as Cycles let me just show you obviously right now it does not look good because we have not added our lighting but you are going to press denoise before before we even render it so you can see what it looks like a little better and of course you can't see a lot because we don't have our lighting yet here comes the lighting part the lighting part you want to hold down shift you want to press a you want to go up to light there's obviously a drop down menu there's Point there's on this spot there's area I use point an area a lot um for this I'm going to use point and with this you want to drag The Point area to the spot that you wanted for this I'm going to have it over here so that way there's not as much light um as you can see now you can actually see the render and what it's supposed to be doing um and of course you want to adjust your avatar to wherever you want but for me I think I'm going to make her on the ground a little bit more so please excuse me while I try to get it as much as possible to not look like she's falling off the ground when you have that done go back and check was viewport shading now I don't want my scene to really look like this so I'm going to change the material output this part is not really important but you can do it if you like um I'm just doing it for my own preferences and just what I want to do further this tutorial obviously with lighting there can be different types of lighting that you have so of course you can go to at Point spots on area all like I said before um you can change you can add multiple different lights if you want you can change where it's hitting you can have it hitting this wall this Avatar you can have it pointing wherever you want but for me I have it pointing away a little bit so that way the light isn't so bright um and the images and also there's fun Parts you can change the lighting to however you want there's blue blue looks actually really cool there's purple there's obviously many colors that you can choose from me with my preferences I like to choose like either white or orange for this I'm going to actually just stick to my white color and I'm actually going to put the power down which you can also do I am going to do the same for this one now for the render part of it what I essentially do is you can keep this part to CPU which is obviously your CPU or you can put it to GPU compute I put it to GPU compute so that way it's a little bit less harsher on my computer as I this is just the method that I use um for the render part viewport um I'd say that if you want it to have good quality you want to go down to Output properties you want to put um you want to go here you want to go to sampling or render um render I usually go to for this I usually set it to 5 000 or sometimes if I need a really quick render I put it all the way down to I'd say like two 2.5 k Maybe um but for this render I'm obviously going to put it on the highest that I can and here we go um so for this part if you want you can add more props I'm sure there's other tutorials for that for adding props to your scene but for this I'm going to adjust how all the materials look and I'm going to add more stuff to the scene and I will time lapse all the way to the actual end when I'm ready to actually find a lyc render so now that you have that all set up um I added this little blender logo over here for the thumbnail this is really a render from the thumbnail um if you didn't notice already um so what you are essentially going to do now is you are going to set your noise obviously I had showed you how to denoise I use my denoise on Optics rather than automatic because that is a better option and um of course if you want to you can edit the way that this image is going to look within blender I don't really do that much here I normally do everything in Photoshop when done if you do not want um things to pop up in the background if you do not have the background like I had shown you you can obviously um press film and you can go to transparent um but obviously I like to add my backdrops for more realism um and what I am going to do now is I'm going to go all the way up to the top left where it says file edit and render obviously you're going to press render press render image when this happens it is going to obviously make your computer have a space essentially a stroke if you will um it's going to freak out your computer is going to be slow because obviously renders renders are like very heavy and your computer can either take it really well depending on what computer you have um but you are going to press render and you're going to wait and let it be finished and I will get back to you when this render is done so now that the render is done you can finally grab the image obviously this was just a quick render so it's very low quality um but you're going to go to image and you are going to press save and save it wherever obviously in your files as you usually do with random images and with that this fresh tutorial for these renders are done and if you have any questions let me know in the comments or you can message me directly on Discord at o'briennao0077 um have a good day bye bye [Music]
