- How to add subtitles
to videos in Camtasia. In this video, I'll show you
how you can make this happen. And in this case, I opened
a new project in Camtasia so we can start from scratch. Now, first thing we wanna do
is add a video to this project we wanna add subtitles to. So in this case, I'm gonna
click on Import Media, select the video, and click on Import. Now, as you can see in the
media bin, the video is imported and I'm gonna click and
drag this onto the timeline so we can start editing. Now, to create subtitles in Camtasia, you need to head over to Audio Effects, and if you can't find that,
make sure you click on More, because sometimes it's
hiding in that specific area. However, once you're in Audio Effects, make sure you find Captions. We're gonna click on this and we're gonna drag it onto the video. Now, if you take a look
at the bottom timeline, you can see an extra layer appeared. This serves as the caption layer in which we can create the subtitles. Now, by default, the caption layer already created
a couple of subtitle bars. For instance, if you
click on the first one, you can see it opens and it's purple, and that basically means
that it's gonna cover that specific section of the video. Now, once you select one
of the subtitle bars, a menu opens and you can add
what you said in your video. Now, the purple part is an indication of how long a subtitle bar is. You can change the duration by clicking on the Duration slide, or you can use the subtitle layer itself and click and drag where it's split. So for instance when I stop saying, "How's it going, everyone," that will be the part where
I'll stop the subtitle bar. Hey, how's it going everyone? So that will be around here, so I'm gonna click and drag
this to that specific point. And then we're gonna
do it for the next one, so I'm gonna play the video. For watching my short. "Thank you so much for watching my short." I will end it right here. I'm gonna click on the purple part and I'm gonna type in
what I said in the video. And just so you know, when
you open the subtitle bar, on the left, you should
be able to see an a. If you click on it, you
can change the font, the text color, the
background color, the size, whatever you prefer. Now, you can probably imagine
how time consuming this is, especially if your video is very long. But luckily there is a way how you can create automatic
subtitles, create an SRT file, and upload that into
your Camtasia project. To automatically create an SRT file, all you need to do is click on the first
link in a description. You'll be redirected to
VEED's online video editor, and all you need to do
is import your video, head over to the Auto Subtitle tool, select the language spoken in the video, click on Create Subtitles,
and watch the magic happen. After that, the auto transcription tool automatically transcribed
the audio to text and turned it into synced subtitles. Now, you can edit the subtitles just the way you like before
downloading it as an SRT file. Next, to import your SRT file
into your Camtasia project, all you need to do is head over to File, then head over to Import,
where you can see Captions. We're gonna click on this. Then we're gonna select the SRT file we just downloaded from VEED, and we're gonna click on Import. And now if I play back the video, you'll see that the subtitles
are added to the video. All the subtitles are in there. Everything should be in sync, happy days. Now, from here, obviously, you can further edit your
subtitles in Camtasia. However, you can also go ahead and further edit your auto
subtitles video with VEED and create astonishing
subtitles with amazing presets, effects, and even subtitle animations. Feel free to try it for yourself through the link in the description. All right, that's how you add subtitles to video in Camtasia. I hope this video was helpful. Have a nice day and good luck.
