i think that you're not a contestant you're an artist you know who you are and each performance i feel like it's just a track on each album you know because it's so good [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] [Applause] yes oh my gosh [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Applause] me [Music] make it [Music] [Applause] [Music] what is your name cricket my name is craig eddie and i'm 22 years old and i'm from a little small town in scotland called falkirk ever since a young age i can remember i love music i take a lot of inspiration from my dad because he sings as well maybe i was five years old and i used to go to my dad's gigs and he used to pick me up and i used to sing it to the mic and the first song that i ever sung was actually sex bomb i always describe him as one of the best humans i know i know her father or a mum would say that but he genuinely is always putting people first whatever happens we're just like the proudest parents in the world craig has really struggled with both depression and anxiety we do whatever we can to get him help if he can go and pick up that guitar and start singing a couple hours later can come back out his bedroom and he's smiling again i was always uncomfortable sort of talking about my problems to people and music's been a really good way for me to sort of get out what i wanted to say in a way i feel as if i do become someone else when i perform the second i step on stage all the worries and all the anxious thoughts are just eradicated to see my son perform i've never felt pride like that we've all got a purpose and i think is this music [Music] i was always performing around pubs but performing at a pub and then performing on the voice of two very different things i feel as if i'm masking it quite well but inside i'm very very nervous did you come with anyone today yeah i came with my mom and my dad they're over the artist do [Music] the main reason why i'm still doing music today is because i take after mother my dad's my best inspiration when it comes to music and stuff you were so sure and every part of your voice wherever you went had a different texture yeah and i was just so excited to hear every different part that sound is beautiful and i love your style and i'm glad i'm the only one the reason i didn't turn you know because because i'm a fool no i was listening to everything you did and then i was trying to find fault with it but it wasn't any fault with it but i think you might have hit every note that was ever invented i mean you you you run the gamut there i was hovering yeah just you didn't know and i was praying i was hovering that he wasn't gonna turn olly you look annoyed what's the matter with all these follow-ups he's got no chance if you sang a song called make it rain if you could see my emotion inside right now i'll probably look like it there's a big cloud above me and rain's just pouring down me right now oh i actually put my my fingers over my ears because it was so good that i couldn't listen to it anymore because i filled my team and i can't press my button but you are awesome great song choice great performance thank you thank you you're cool ass on it you play an instrument uh yeah i play the guitar you're literally cool as a cucumber oh produce more and stuff as well you produce two yeah i've got a good one plays guitar sings every note on the scale low range and control yeah awesome rasp yeah pretty freaking awesome thank you and congrats emily you got a freaking what welcome to my team right our next battle of the night is from team anne-marie are you ready who is it it's craig and james yeah they're both great singers it's hard because i want both of them [Music] the blind auditions were an incredible experience i didn't expect anyone to turn for me the fact that i work in a chocolate shop now i'm here this has given me such a confidence boost that i feel like i needed [Music] i knew he was nervous and i really wanted to explore and see if he could grow out of that [Music] [Applause] [Music] i actually wanted to pick me because i think she's an amazing woman [Music] the second she turned around could visibly share my dad's face that it was very proud well that's my biggest inspiration when it comes to music and stuff to see my son perform i've never felt praise like that [Applause] welcome to team ann marie for the battles i would like you to sing this city by sam fisher i did a remix of this song and i feel like it's really important to always make it your own i'm already a man that sort of suffers with anxiety and nerves so being paired up against james robb i'm going to try and brush that to the side i'm definitely nervous about battling craig i need to make sure that i don't get kind of bowled away by his talent you're both so great but i can only take one of you it's just scaring me i think my confidence would take a bit of a knock if i lost i'm really going to have to give this everything if i were to win this battle it would just solidify i'm good enough and i can do stuff like this [Applause] there's a lot at stake for me you know music's the only thing that really makes me happy i'm not going to let this place in the team go without a fight takes on james rob this is a battle i've got to be confident and make sure i win [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all i see is lonely people [Music] [Applause] it's everybody [Music] you're excellent singers you're equally as good as one another you have a little more edge you cut through a little more but you have a warm-up sound to your voice so i wouldn't know which way to go i loved it thank you very much ollie i love the passion you guys brought to the song could really see in your eyes how much this meant to you honestly it's a shame that there's no steals left because we're going to lose a really good singer here [Music] hammery oh it was amazing i'm actually so sad because i was so sure that someone was going to steal the other um you are both so different what do i go with here do i go with a really unique tone or do i go with someone who everyone will just enjoy is either elvis presley or jerry lee lewis anne-marie it's time for you to yeah i loved it thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] craig is very unique [Music] he'd make any type of song his vibe which is what i love about him the bottles was one of the most daunting experiences i think i've ever really went through [Applause] break i'm just so happy that i can continue to keep doing what's made me the happiest of being in my life that was relief so thank you thank you very much he's such a lovely guy and underneath the surface he is really wanting this the song i picked for craig is lovely by billy eilish it's a hard one because you want to make it your own so i noticed when you were singing you had your eyes closed open them we want to feel your emotion emotional feel every single word you're singing i think sometimes it can close people off when you close your eyes i think in my own head i just don't think it sounds good which is rubbish believe in yourself it's one of those voices where you can just listen to it all day but if you don't have that connection then you can get lost i see everything you can do typically i'm a man that does tend to sort of go into myself but i want to show anyone out there who suffers from anxiety you can do amazing things seeing craig throughout this competition is incredible it's lifted his confidence from really rock bottom to somewhere great singing to say on team anne-marie it's cray shot [Music] brilliant brilliant um tom i thought it was moving it definitely sucked me in and that's that's what a song should do i thought it was really really something great i think that you're not a emotional watching that avery yeah i think what i love about you is that there's so much going on in your head and then as soon as you start singing it all goes and i i just feel i feel so happy for experiences of my life craic i'm in the final of the voice my mind is completely blown i just had an overwhelming sense of being proud of him living with anxiety and how scary this whole thing must be for him i can see your progression i think your voice has always been brilliant but it was you feeling comfortable being on your own and people looking at you i'm getting a lot more confident i'm a lot more comfortable in my own skin i'm a lot more confident performing on stage watching you singing every week is absolutely mind-blowing it's incredible just the best he makes me so proud my heart is so full of love for him my first memory of you singing was at granny's birthday party and you wanted to sing sex bomb by tom jones just this tiny lad sang the song from start to finish and absolutely blew the room away my mum and my dad they've been there with me through the dark days and seeing the support has made this experience so much more special i want to thank you and my dad for the support over the years as well from the bottom of my heart i wish you every bit of luck thank you i love you so much [Applause] [Music] is [Music] should i pray should i pray to myself do we go to and stuff yeah you navigated it quite well because there's a lot of smoke here as well so one wrong foot and yeah uh you were brilliant anne-marie uh i'm i'm just so proud of you craig just from where you started to who you are now you're a different person and you know you tell people you have anxiety i i get what you're going through a lot of people at home can relate to it as well and i just want to thank you for being so open and honest about that because it takes you a lot to get on that stage and i just want to say thank you for being open and honest and thank you for making my first series on this show so so special thank you emily look at these you're actually in the final i genuinely every stage i did not think that i was getting through [Applause] the blind division for me was the most daunting experience when he started singing it just made me sink into my chair it was just flawless the battles were really tough i genuinely thought that like i was going home great why did you think you weren't gonna get picked though i don't know just confidence it really showed me that i'm good enough i was like wow you must really want this the performance i'm most proud of by far actually is lovely yeah semi-final 100 because i could feel it [Music] the amount you've grown is crazy i think your journey will hopefully change my life and i just can't sort of thank you enough for that so the song we're going to sing is don't speak by no doubt that's our banger seeing craig grow in confidence and then end it with a duet with him is the perfect ending to the story let's show i think you are a proper artist and you've blossomed as emma said like i just i really want everyone at home to vote this this guy is the real deal [Music] since falling for your [Music] mistakes cuz take because yeah you know that that's really primarily what i focus on is getting my own stuff out there and you know i love writing as much as i love singing so i thought that was a perfect platform
