Nila is not exactly a meta Champion she has an extremely low pick rate of not even 4% but what if I told you that Nila is actually just extremely underrated and a sleeper op pick see normally when a champion isn't played much it is usually because the champion is bad but for Nila this is different the reason for her low pick rate can be explained easily when looking at Riot's design philosophy when it comes to Marksman in general While most adcs have a very similar play style they win by staying safe and finding opportunities to Auto attack for free with Superior range Nila is the odd one out many Marksman players do not even dare to touch this Champion solely because they would have to learn entirely new Concepts such as shot calling for example which is not a requirement for other bot Lane Champions however those players who are not intimidated by nila's unique play style are greatly rewarded in fact the match we about to analyze features three Korean Pro players on the enemy team but at every single moment the game is entirely in nila's hands every single decision she makes directly affects the outcome of the game which is a big contrast to the usual feeling of helplessness that most ADC Mains tend to complain about in any case before you can learn how you can carry your team to Victory with Nila you must of course know about her optimal runes and items the player we will analyze went for conquerer Triumph Legend bloodline At Last Stand with bone plating and overgrowth secondary unlike most Ed caries nilas uses her spells very frequently during fights which makes her a perfect user of conqueror Additionally the Rune does not only increase your damage over time but also grants you some healing and as you can see from the Rune page defensive stats are important again other AD carriers can stay in the backline stay safe and auto attack and Nea on the other hand has to go in there she has short range she must make herself vulnerable and open herself up to attacks due to that Triumph is also a natural choice because when you are on low HP this Rune is most potent and Legend bloodline again n mostly spell-based so Legend alacrity is not as important and bloodline keeps you healthy as well it is a very similar play style to the champion Samira in some regards and for the same reasons Nila also wants Last Stand as I've said you're constantly on low HP because you need to get in there with your dashes and once you take damage Last Stand of course starts dealing bonus damage for yourself it is much better than kudrass or than cutdown and you should always pick this Rune now for the secondary runes most Nea players go for the more greedy options of Sudden Impact and treasure hunter Sudden Impact of course increasing your damage once you dash in and treasure hunter giving you your items a little bit earlier but this player values defensive stats It ultimately boils down to personal preference but bone plating and overgrowth will keep you a lot safer in the mid and late game because these runes make you more resilient against enemy burst damage now n's item build is very straightforward your core build is collector nvar quick blades and plated steel caps then your typical late game choices are shield bow Lord Dominic's regards and guardian angel n abilities outright counter what most other AD carries are supposed to do other AD carries want to stay at a distance ner can Dash right on top of them additionally other AD carries solely rely on auto attacks Nila has an auto attack nullifier in her Dodge this makes for a very aggressive Lane phase generally speaking and collector of course has the very aggressive component of serrated duck it is nila's best first item as it most accentuates her snowball potential the Mythic item Choice also very straightforward because Novi quick blades gives you more access to your spells and as I've mentioned your spells are very important on this Champion naturally because spells are important Auto attacks hold less weight for this ad carry which means steel caps is better than berserker's griefs again you're in the middle of the fight usually and steel caps prevents the enemy from bursting you down at least with physical Auto attacks Shield B further adds survivability which is again important but then you need the Dominic's regards for the next item in some matchups more to remind us also good but the point is without a percent armor penetration item you won't be able to cut through tanks in the late game and even even non- tanky Champions get a lot of armor naturally with level UPS your vanilla choice for your last item Guardian Angel is your only non- crit item in the build so it doesn't synergize with quick blades but you have to keep in mind death timers in the late game are super long so having that revive passive can go a long way for your team okay now that we're all on the same page let's see how this Challenger player FS against three opposing Korean Pro players generally speaking n has a very strong Lane face she gets an experiened advantage over her opponent for free just by last hitting but in the very early stages of Lane you need to be careful especially when you're playing against one of the best players on the planet and if you're in a Draven Lane I have to admit the situation looks kind of tempting Alistar gets a good flash engage forcing out draven's flash while nila's jungler is actually ganking but Draven plus well Allin in the enemy minion wave that's not going too well is it again I get it the idea looked promising it was a three versus two in blue team's favor but minion damage is real and the true strength of nila's early game is her experience Advantage which she did not yet quite have yeah Draven in the early game again he's now ahead he's quite fed but Alistar actually doing a good job protecting Nila here and that protection is much needed it is very obvious that in this game in particular Nila will probably not be able to make use of her early strength but as you're about to see this player is not matched against Korean Pro players in Solo que for no reason there are other ways to win with n even if you don't cheese the lane face and even in this situation just look at this they found the opening with nila's level six power Spike making perfect use of nila's Kit against the enemy ad carry again her kit count as opposing adcs quite effectively with the Dodge and with the hard CC having hard CC on adcs is rare enough as it is and AOE knockbacks um yeah Draven can't do anything except for run here he's actually quite lucky he gets away with his life but again outside of these unfair power spikes Nila gets with her passive you need to keep your head low when you're behind in Lane here she tried to to engage again but this time with level equals and as you can see after flashing nila's ultimate Draven has way too easy a Time gunning her down well easy a time is a little bit of a strong phrasing here it is a close fight but still you're fighting a Draven a challenger Korean Draven with a lead uh it's it's not ending well and that's a big paycheck too but keep in mind these Allin are super free when you play against a little bit more even lane or a lane that hasn't been fed um due to circumstances or just against a more passive ad carry and General and here the jungler shows up quite likely to happen because well Draven just burned his Flash and N is able to level the playing field a little bit and despite losing Lane they are able to convert this into First Tower of for B Lane so a pretty much best case scenario All Things Considered but as is the case with all unconventional ad carries playing the lane is the easy part because you can just cheese the enemy in the best case scenario in team fights well you are a short-ranged ad carrier your decision- making processes will be a lot different compared to more conventional picks and this is probably also the reason why many people shy away from this Champion it's just very different to what you're used to however this player is very much comfortable with the ins and outs of decision- making on N please watch closely what they do and why most Ed carry Champions even the more aggressive ones heavily rely on their team to make plays for them even Samira who's probably the poster child of aggressive ad carry Champions but Nila she has the engageed tools she has two dashes and an AOE stun well a knockback stun whatever hard crowd control which allows our team to follow up and this is really the quintessence here she knows she has two allies is backing her up so she goes all in on Draven who is fed who is a threat and by doing this she creates all this entire situation got created entirely by Nila and by no one else this Tower this Midland Tower everything that follows a direct result of nila's play here and as always in League of Legends a tool that works to engage to start a team fight also always works as a disengage tool here blue team is kind of getting CAU but Nila staying in the backline not dashing aggressively but using her ult to keep the enemy in check then giving her team another opportunity to follow up just beautiful play just knowing exactly when to call the shot when to go in when to play offense when to play defense that's really what is at the core of nila's gameplay really but here's the well flip side of the coin this shot calling aspect of gameplay we ad carry players are not used to that uh it's definitely the reason why Nila is seeing such little play and if you make a wrong call even just once you can instantly lose a team fight as a consequence as we can see right here Nila thinks she sees an opening I mean it's tempting they're caught in javan's Ultimate and she can ult herself gets the knockup on multiple people but it's always tied to a risk I mean there are other AD carries with similar aspects Ash for example can also shot call with her Arrow but unlike Ash Nila also has a direct risk to her own health if she does this if she gets the wrong call she's dead and a dead ad carry is always an opportunity for the enemy to make huge progress on the map it's high risk High reward in its purest form however once you develop a certain game sense making these calls can be surprisingly easy in some situations please have a look and try to figure out why here this was completely free you could probably already guess it but as always it boils down to numbers Advantage as you can see Alistar Rumble and N are all very very close together and basically enclosing the other three and the all-in combo will kill Vai creating a three versus two azir doesn't count he's too far away but the combo instantly kills by and then it's a 3v2 air is zoned Away by Alistar even he can't join whatsoever and numbers Advantage the easiest way to win a fight so if you see a situation in which you can create numbers advantage that's your sign to go in and take advantage of numbers advantage that's a lot of Advantage but well you you get the idea as can probably imagine though how difficult or easy it is to find these openings largely depends on your opponent's skill level in this situation I mean tunnel vision is also a factor in this situation probably Nila thought she saw an engage because she was able to catch two people at once in her ultimate in this situation which is always of course good value but what she didn't take into account and this is what I mean by tunnel vision is that she gives Draven completely free auto attacks against her and as you saw Draven is fed Draven is a giga threat and if Nita goes down that quickly and the enemy team can just close in and chase them away that's bad news in fact after cleaning up all of blue team's members red team is able to take a completely free Baron and is not firmly in the driver's seat in this match as you can see as an El player you live and die by your own decisions if you make a good call good for your team but if you make a bad call and the better your opponents the more likely it is that a call that looks good is actually bad well you can also lead your team to its downfall however this is once more a double-edged sword as risky as it is for you to engage it is just as risky for the enemy to engage because again your spells are also disengaged tools but see for yourself as you can see Nila is patiently waiting in the backline in this situation and the enemy are stronger right now they have a massive gold lead they just took another Baron I cut out a lot of stuff here because it was just blue team defending against minions in any case red team thinks they have the advantage and try to push it they are in position right now and by does find the Target on the backline with her ulti the valuable Rumble and Oriana but Nila is completely for free in the backline she's not targeted at all she can just use her ult to disengage and Bring Havoc upon the enemy from there it is an easy cleanup because Nila still has both her dashes so as you can see with Nila you live by the sword and you die by the sword it's all about your decision- making but a common misconception among Nila players or among players of Champions who have AOE spells in general is that you have to hit multiple targets in reality just eliminating one key Target is more than enough to bring your team forward I mean of course it's very juicy it's very nice power fantasy to be in a team fight and to ult the entire enemy team or even just three people feels very good but all you need to win is take out the most important the most threatening enemy team as you can see instead of staying with her team for protection this Nea was actively seeking out the 1 V one against Draven because she knows with her full combo she can win it and by deleting Draven the most important damage source of the enemy team is just gone no reason to try and ult multiple people if they die anyway due to numbers disadvantage if you actually like this highrisk High reward play style you should also check out my video on Samira because she plays very much the same way
