How much gold do we find in this hole? gold dredging nz

hey guys we're back hey man it's good to be back it's a beautiful day and we're gonna make a start on this hole today which we are looking forward to there should be some nice gold in there although it can be hits and missing these holes sometimes the gold gets blown out of it sometimes it doesn't so hopefully we'll find some but before we get in the river i just want to say thank you to everyone that supported us on that last video all the response and the comments was just totally overwhelming so from the bottom of our hearts thank you so so much absolutely amazing so usual story guys we're just going to get that dress warmed up we'll get that hot water going and we'll crack into it right from where that nozzle is and hopefully we get enough time in this trip to uh do the whole hole i'm the first tank done there wasn't much gold in that little spot but we didn't really expect to see much it's such a tight little spot and the water would have just blasted any gold out that it was in there originally it probably won't find much until we start really getting up into the middle here especially where it widens out so it might be a couple days before we see any but fingers crossed that we find something before but yeah no it's not as deep as we thought it was we thought it was going to go down real deep but it just it's not which is not a bad thing so yeah we'll just have a quick bite and then we'll get back into it foreign well guys there is us done for the day and uh no cold to show for our effort today which is a bit of a concern especially because we stretched out this whole crack that runs right through the other side of the river there right where the nozzle is and we didn't really see any gold in there at all it's a little bit of a worry and the bedrock's actually stepping back up but this big rock here is actually sitting on bedrock so what we thought was going to be a big hole kind of isn't but you know we still got a long way to go perhaps the goals up the front i don't think anyone's done it before us you know it's pretty hard to get any gear in here but all we can do is just uh cross their fingers and suck and see oh we'll go back to the hut and have an early night and cross the fingers tomorrow see some gold good morning everyone here we are on day two and the weather's coming a little bit for us which is a bit of a shame it's meant to get quite heavy later on today so fingers crossed it doesn't actually stop us from dredging too much i've actually got a long way to go before we finish this hole off but uh we had a look around yesterday and there's actually this big crack that runs right down at the start of this hole here and we're thinking the majority of the gold might be stuck in that well we're hoping anyway it'll be uh horrible to do this whole hole and have no gold out of it we actually came down the other day and had a little go through these cracks and found some nice little pieces so it might be a nice indicator that there is something down below us here yeah so no mucking around guys we're just going to get straight into it i think time is against us a little bit today where the weather was hopefully something to show you so [Laughter] [Music] so so so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] well that's the first tank done and still no gold a little bit of a bummer but as we're working into this hole we're kind of figuring out why now this bedrock we're working here is all sandstone and sandstone is very soft and in a big flood it wears very easy so what we're thinking is that the cracks that would have been here originally have all blown out and when they blow out so does the gold this is why we're not seeing any so we're hoping that uh maybe down this spot here right down through here there's quite a chunky pieces of um craggy bedrock we might see something and especially up the front of this hole so this tank we're just going to do a little bit of exploring just to see if we can find any bits and pieces lying around soon as we start finding some we kind of know that's potentially where a catchment is going to be so yeah we'll work over that side we'll come in here we'll work around where this little stream here comes in and uh we'll work out the front here just to see if we can find something and if we do then we know we're going to be roughly on it fingers crossed so we'll go guess that dredge up again and have another crack and maybe just maybe we'll find a bit more gold [Music] so do [Music] so oh there you go well that's the second tank done and it wasn't that nice to see a little bit of gold finally after uh two days have not seen much well there wasn't much there just a couple nice little nuggets but you never know what's at the bottom of that crack that runs down there but we've got this big rock right here to try and deal with i'm not too sure probably stretch around him and leave him in there but it's not taking us too long to get through this hole at all there's not much overburden but there's no gold in the overburn either so it's just going to be on this on the bottom and the cracks are and whatnot but we'll go have a look at the box and see what's in there i mean there's not heaps but definitely look at those nuggets because they're quite nice you don't need those nuggets anyone there's quite nice he's probably close to a gram and a couple of little ones boy needs us to heat more of those it might be in here fingers crossed it will be so we'll just guess these motors up again and carry on before this rain comes in we have to tie the dredge up later on tonight before we leave just in case it floods so yeah we'll crack into it [Music] oh so [Music] oh [Music] [Music] oh that's us done for the day guys we had three tanks today so we're kind of pooped after that but how about those couple nuggets man they are awesome kind of roughly where we thought they were going to be too so it'd be interesting to see what's left in the rest of it hopefully um more pieces like that and even bigger would be nice but let's go have a look at them they're um very nice pieces not much house bar there but um but still pretty stoked with it that's in there it's quite chunky especially on that side it was a beautiful piece and that was the other big flat piece we got quite nice is that there where'd he go it even feels almost close to three grams that one another thing we found a lot of is these these are big bits of iron stone these are heavy ass generally when we start finding big pieces like that connor we know roughly we're going to be on some nice gold we'll potentially be on some nice gold so it's kind of good to see those as well and heap of bullets picked those old 303 rounds and a couple 22 rounds so it's good to get the lead out of the river there but uh we might take that bigger nugget back or those two big nuggets back and weigh them up and see what they are they're very interesting to see so it's kind of given us a bit more hope now in this hole so i say we'll get it done by the end of this trip probably should get at least another three four days dredging so we might get it done there's a big rock down there we're not too sure we're gonna move him we might just have to uh dredge around it and use a water blaster to blast out anything underneath it if there's bits and pieces underneath it we'll bring the winch down and set it up and winch it out so at least hope this rain doesn't come tonight we can dredge tomorrow so yeah we'll see you then good morning everybody here we are on day three and luckily for us it never rained too much last night so we're bloody happy about that the river's come up a little bit but hardly anything so we're stoked so this first tank we're just going to carry on down next to this big rock here that's where we're finding that as nice nuggets yesterday so hopefully there'll be something else down there for us and then we'll come back here and go through all the stuff through here but i don't think there's going to be much in it but we'll have a look anyway you just never know so yep we'll guess those motors up we'll get that hot water going and we'll jump in good [Music] so [Laughter] well guys that's the first tank done and there's a little bit of gold in there that was quite nice to see quite surprising too a little bit in that crack there that crack there runs all the way down past that big rock and right down into that deep hole where those nuggets where we got yesterday so it's definitely looking like the gold's in the front of the hole a lot more work though because it's getting quite deep but that's all good we don't mind go look in the box because he's actually starting to get a little bit more in there quite a bit coming out of those cracks that you don't see it's always fun to look in the box at the end of the each tank and get a bit of surprise nothing heaps and nothing big just yet but that's what we got and heaps of lead shot look at it all someone's been in here with a shotgun and having some fun so yeah i'm actually looking forward to doing this next tank we'll just carry on on that right-hand side there and see what we find and with any luck be some more gold to show you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] earlier tomorrow and probably try and get three tanks in and have a good nudge in it tomorrow we uh didn't spend any time over on that left-hand side where we found those nuggets we kind of spent the whole day on this right hand side there's not much gold in it there's the odd bit flying out here and there but bugger all but that's okay it might be in here somewhere we'll go look at that box show you what we've been getting definitely hasn't been like what it was in the last couple trips coming up the river but that's the way it goes sometimes so there's definitely a little bit more in there a bit beating it into these miners moss so there's the old bit here and there so let's just hope there's another little spot in here that's holding a bit of gold all right we'll see you tomorrow day four and we've got a bit of rain last night so at about 11 o'clock we had to jump out of bed and come back down and tie the dredger so we have to uh set that up again before we get in the river this morning always pays to if it starts raining pretty heavy we always come down and just tie the dredge up nothing worse than a big flash flood and losing the trees down the river so we'll set that dredge up and um crack on in there and hopefully we'll get a bit closer to potentially a pocket of gold somewhere if we're lucky right into it [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] so [Laughter] some beautiful cracks running down there but just nothing at all which is a bit of a bummer but oh well that's the way it goes and it's also very loose like there's no hard pack in here at all so in a big flood it must just get all tuned up and everything gets blown out but we did find one real nice little specimen piece look at that it's got a heap of quartz in it i didn't even see that got the nozzle so i don't know where he came from and they're beautiful that's awesome hopefully there's a uh truckload of them down there somewhere it's quite cool when you come up and have a look at the sluice box and you find a piece like that you don't see go up it's always quite neat oh yeah there's a little bit more in there but definitely not much so we'll have a bite to eat and uh guess it motors up and get back in well guys that is us for the day we are absolutely buggered we made a pretty big dent in it today i do apologize for not taking much underwater footage there's just nothing to show you is really and we're just moving lots of overburden and we wanted to get through it pretty quickly yeah not much in there at all we've only got that little section needed to do right where the end of the nozzle is we should have that done tomorrow quite easy i'm not holding our breath for uh much more gold in there at all i think it's just getting pushed out there's just so much water flow coming through here it's just blowing it all out it's just one of those spots that just don't collect gold unfortunately but that's right you got to do it to find out don't you so uh back to the hut and we have a coffee and some dinner and i think we're going to have a very early night tonight and we'll see you in the morning good morning everyone here we are on day five and this will probably be our last uh dredging we had the spot finished off for the next couple hours i'd imagine and if we get time we might just have a look up the river a little bit it's all flat bedrock up there but didn't even know there might be something up there so we'll probably pop up here and have a look but that's what we got to do so hopefully there'll be something else left in there i'm not lot so this is what we ended up with not as much as we thought we were going to get considering the amount of gold we're getting coming up the river to the hole but still happy enough with it plus all the nice little nuggets we pulled out of there that was pretty cool so we'll stick it through the trap and have a bit of a clean up and see what it looks like then the other guys is all through the trap now not a heap in there but like i did say at the start of the video these holes are very hit and miss not a complete miss but they're only a little miss so i guess we'll just go back to the hut and pin it up and weigh it up all right time for a way up so we'll chuck these bigger nuggets on and see what they are so that's the big one we got so it's 2.8 so that's a nice piece and there's these other little pieces it's a green oh get out of there what was that one 1.4 that's quite a nice piece there definitely this one's as heavy that's 0.9 and this is the specimen one we got he won't weigh as much because he's full of quartz but still a very cool piece 1.6 that's not too bad so we'll chuck it all in and see what the whole total is 7.8 it's not too bad and we'll chuck the rest in for a final telly oh 27 on the dot that's still not too bad at all i'm pretty happy with that very happy with that actually all right until the next time see you then you
