How Many Super Smash Bros. Characters Have Plushes?

undeniably the most appealing aspect of the super smash through a series has to be its expansive cast of fighters seeing so many iconic characters in a single product is simply incredible that's why the smash bears line of amiibo were so popular one toy line featuring so many characters and licenses was practically unheard of but thanks to amiibo being an in-house product Nintendo and their partners were able to pull it off you could finally have the entire Smash cast on display together and its really cool a popular trend with merchandise collectors even before amiibo has always been to create Super Smash Bros inspired displays with tons of characters posed together whenever I see people do this however it's with figures given the range of Nintendo and other licensed figures out there it's entirely possible to do and there are tons of collection shots online to prove so however given how much I deal with plushies I've wondered could the same be done with them how many characters from Smash could you put in a plush display today I'll be answering that very important question how many Super Smash Bros characters have officially licensed plushies on the market today I promise I'll make this as interesting as I can to do so I'll be going through each character from every smash games history with merchandise seeing just how many of them have been plush a find in the past for certain characters who have plenty available a lot for suggestions on what the best one for the job would be too if you wish to create your own Smash Bros plush display and with all that said let's begin it will of course be starting with the twelve original fighters from the first smash game on the n64 now all the characters featured in this game nowadays are hugely popular and iconic so most of them have plushies many of them having countless to their name if the Mario franchise characters have so many plushies it'd be impossible to count them likewise Donkey Kong and Yoshi have plushies in spades and Pikachu probably has more plushies made of him and than any other smash character combined and there are plenty of jiggly puffs as well link is an interesting case has despite the Legend of Zelda being extremely popular and marketable plushies have never been a huge thing for the series maybe it's due to the darker tone the series has compared to the likes of Mario it's understandable that it's not as marketable in the huggable sense but there are still some to choose from smash 64 specifically features adult link from ocarina of time who just so happens to be featured in the Takara ocarina of time plush set we'll get to the other designs of the character later fox has only had two plushies made of him so far which is honestly sub rising those being that Takara UFO plush made for the first game and the more recent Jack specific plush of him made for the world of Nintendo line Kirby much like Mario has countless plushies but there are some that closely matches appearance at smash 64 so if you wanted to focus on just this game you totally could unfortunately Samus Captain Falcon and somehow even ness have never gone in the fish'll plushies Samus and Captain Falcon I understand as they have complicated designs and aren't as marketable as other characters but you'd think a Ness plush would exist by now right at least there are plenty of mr. Saturn's out there so to recap and 9 of the 12 original smash fighters have plushies 75% of the roster but we'll see how that % fares as we move into the next game super smash bros melee with 26 fighters total melee introduced 14 new playable characters and just like smash 64 a good majority of them can be found in plush form peach and Bowser have obviously gone in plenty of plush love though dr. Mario has yet to have one made of him with how many variant plushies have been made for Mario over the years this is surprising hopefully thanks to him once again being featured in Smash games he'll get one someday three of the four Zelda newcomers also have plushies with no chic plush existing once again this is because of the Ocarina of Time plush set which also features the likes of Zelda Ganondorf annyeong link technically the Zelda featured here is young Zelda and since young link is his own character I guess that doesn't count but in a display I doubt you'd care Falco has two plushies just like fox both originating from the same sets the Fox plushies come from Mewtwo and Peach you have plenty of plushies just like Pikachu but the last four members of the roster aren't as lucky or at least weren't for a while a few years ago if you were looking for Fire Emblem plushies you'd be out of luck if that was until July of 2019 once a day a company who has been making intended plushies for nearly two decades now released this awesome set of Fire Emblem plushies this set contains five of the seven characters who have been featured in Smash which certainly was not a coincidence with that said Martha Roy both received the plush treatment ice climbers on the other hand seem to be too niche to have ever gone in plushies even back when their game first came out and mr. Gaiman watches a 2d featureless man so obviously but tragically no plush of him exists that means that 20 of the 26 characters in melee can be found as plushies if that's roughly 77% we're still doing pretty well let's move on to brawl Super Smash Bros Brawl introduced 16 newcomers to the series though this is when the series started introducing more obscure characters so let's see how many uh plushies well definitely not having as many plushies as Donkey Kong diddy kong has plenty to his name if any sub series of The Legend of Zelda has been marketed the most it be the toon style seen in games like the Wind Waker which means that Toon Link has several plushies made a family there's this older one bison a which was released for Phantom Hourglass a remake of the plush made for Wind Waker HD a jack specific plush which looks very similar to those ones and finally small mascots which were released in this mystery set a Phantom Hourglass plushies Hey look tetra these ones are great because they also released red and blue tuned lengths which allows you to showcase two and likes alternate colors in plush form which is impossible for most characters if Samus didn't have a plush zero suit samus certainly doesn't though there have been plenty of awesome figures and statues made of both of them Mennonite and DDD have had many plushies but not nearly as many as Kirby to get ones that accurately showcase how they look in Smash i'd recommend these earlier ones made by sanae ddd has a hammer and a look that's striking like his anime appearance and Meta Knight is proudly holding his galaxia sword making both of them perfect for a smash fighting themed display though fox and falco both have plushies wolf unfortunately does not he doesn't even have an action figure yet if the Pokemon trainers Pokemon how many plushies made of them but few exist for red himself in fact the closest we have right now is this plush that was made to promote the Pokemon masters mobile app it isn't exactly like a smash appearance but it's pretty close on the other hand Lucario was one of the most popular Pokemon of generation 4 so there are plenty of plushies of him lucas much like ness has no plushies made of him as for Ike he can also be found that snake fire emblem set being depicted in his popular path of Radiance design pit doesn't have any plushies of his classic old design and none of his modern design either if there is this awesome figma figure of him though for most smash characters who don't have plushies chances are they do have figures Wario has plenty of plushies but bro mainly depicts him in his warrior biker outfit of which there are none if that would make for a seriously cool plush hopefully we'll see that someday a warrior wear plush set of the whole crew would be awesome orlimar is a very curious case as he only has two plushies both bison a but the second one came out a good 14 years after his first the first all of our plush was released as part of sanae's Pikmin 2 set of plushies and him along with the sets Louie have become pretty hard to find thanks in part to their suits being made which deteriorate easily so finding them in good condition nowadays won't be easy but if you can they are pretty fantastic if you're looking for all of our plushies on a budget though don't worry soon a finally remade him for their Pikmin an all-star collection set he no longer uses vinyl for his suit making him much more future-proof Rob being a character based off of an actual toy surprisingly has no plush equivalent though I can't imagine Oh Rob plush would sell very well it would make for a great novelty item snake also doesn't have a plush though a cutesy plush of such a serious character would be pretty funny now you know me and let me tell you Sonic the Hedgehog has plenty of plushies out there if you're looking for one that's closest to his modern smash design though I'd recommend one of sanae's Sonic's or the joy palace sonic plush which was released as a prize item at Sega joy Palace though really any modern sonic plush would work 31 out of the 37 characters in Brawl have plushies so if you include the five characters from a light who didn't appear in brawl 32 of the 42 characters who have been in smash to this point have plushies we are rockin 76% slightly worse than last time but let's see how smash 4 3 DS and Wii U do there was an explosion of newcomers in Super Smash Bros for the 3ds and WiiU so we have a lot of work to do thankfully most of them do have plushies Rosalina does have a plush but it wasn't released as part of sanae super mario galaxy plush set but instead their 3d world set weird huh well if you find that odd Lumas the super marketable cute characters from galaxy and don't have a single official plush I don't understand it either but hey since Rosalina was introduced in the 3d world set and there's also a cat Rosalina plush so all is well Bowser jr. has a fair share of plushies as well as though as Koopa clown car does not the Koopalings though all have plushies in 2013 soon they released a wave that contained all of them and Larry Morton and Wendy all had plushies into cars Yoshi's Safari plush said of all things while on the subject of alternate costume characters though sorry to all the ALF fans but he does not have a plush greninja being a popular final revolution of a starter Pokemon of course has many plushies Robin unfortunately did not get a sanae plush Baloo Sina did perhaps Sanae will release more Fire Emblem characters in the future as they could still release both male and female Robin as well as male Koren among others so there's still plenty of potential palutena and dark pit both do not have plushies and so just like pit there's a great dark pit figma to go along with them now a villager is a bit complicated there have been plenty of official human villager plushies over the years but there are none of the main villager design featured in Smash who originated from Animal Crossing city folk there is however a plush of the main female design this one which was made by Tomy and released for Animal Crossing wild world tragically there was going to be a plush of the Smash villager designed by Jack specific for world of Nintendo however he was cancelled and never released this stock image from late 2016 may be all we'll ever see of the little guy what a shame this could have been such a popular release Wii Fit trainer Little Mac Shulkin duck hunt all currently go without plushies Megaman despite how popular of a franchise it is only has a handful of official plushies of the classic design the best one would have to be this one released again bison a special mentions though go to the rock man for plush the Great Eastern Mega Man 10 plush and of course this one by the company good stuff which was branded as a megaman powered up plush and released in american arcades that this one came in multiple sizes too so if you wish to one day on a 45 inch plush of the guy you totally can also I think it's pretty cool that you can get nearly all of Mega Man's final smash roster in plush form Mona and starforce Megaman pac-man is a similar case to Megaman a very popular character but few quality plushies many are simple and are based off of his arcade design but there are some quality modern pac-man plushies as well obviously no me plush exists as they're just avatars as for the four newcomer DLC characters three of them have plushies Ryu has plenty from the course of his entire history cloud has several such as the seriously cool Banpresto plush which was made for Final Fantasy 7 as well as others female Korn is our last smash Fire Emblem character to be featured in that sin a plush set though there is no male equivalent yet unfortunately the final DLC character Bayonetta has yet to get any plush love so that means out of the 58 characters in smash 3ds and WiiU 39a plushies 67% as more obscure characters are added to the series less of them have plushies but a surprising amount still do we only have one game left now Super Smash Bros ultimate all right here it is it's time to figure out how many smash characters in total have plushies if the age-old question is finally about to be answered with Super Smash Bros ultimate bringing back everyone and then some let's see how many of the current roster have plushies of course this game isn't finished with updates just yet and new characters will be added as DLC for a good while but as it stands let's see how many of these guys have plushies surprisingly Dark Samus doesn't know Dark Samus also does not have a plush ridley doesn't either Daisy does have some but not nearly as many as you'd expect just these two semi plushies and the baby Daisy crumb currently does not have any plushies many of the plush sets that include Ryu also include Ken as splatoon was a smash hit and has very marketable designs soon they produced several sets based off of both splatoon one and two the main Inklings of the splatoon designs can be found in sanae set for the first game while they have plenty of figures no plushies of Simon or Richter Belmont exist King cave roll being the incredible character he is thankfully has a few plushies one of them being from the first Donkey Kong Country game made by the company Yu Jin which one squeeze to place a clip of the Donkey Kong Country theme if you're looking for something more cruel though there's this lovely lad based off of his appearance in the TV show there was also this American plush that was designed by the company toy sight though he was never released while villager could deal with a few more plushies Isabela's in no shortage being the face of Animal Crossing new leaf she was featured in every set based off of that game in cinah roar once again being a popular Pokemon has a few as well ultimate also introduced many new designs for previous characters so if you want your smash display to be current here's what you can do the link for example uses this breath of the wild design which thankfully did get a plush bison a if they've also made plushies of Mario's wedding and builder costumes - as for the currently announced dlc characters piranha plant has many including this fantastically genius hand puppet joker surprisingly does have a couple such as this one by Great Eastern as well as this one by Sega Fry's the hero unfortunately does not have any plush of any of his incarnations but there sure are plenty of slime plushies banjo kazooie thankfully have several such as these classical ones released in a Zen 64 prime time by the company P DNA which could be found both in toy stores as well as the Nintendo power supplies order catalog there's also some Japanese plushies a promotional one for nuts and bolts which looks lovely as well as a chibi one released as part of the Stubbins line and as for the final character currently announced Terry Bogard surprisingly does have several plushies made of him as of now there are seventy eight characters currently announced for smash ultimate how do those characters only twenty-seven don't have plushies roughly 65 percent of the smash roster hasn't officially made plush of them out there considering how many wild cards there are in the smash roster I'd say that's really good hopefully this video has inspired some of you to start your own smash plush display as it's a really cool idea of course there's the issue of some flushes not scaling well or being in completely different styles but how fitting is that to smash anyway the Super Smash Bros series is a celebration of all these franchises and characters that people truly love no matter how much they don't fit together so what better way to show your appreciation of these characters than to collect them in physical form I mean the whole reason I collect merchandise in the first place is out of my love for the designs of these guys and who could forget that at the beginning of smash 64 it's implied that the fighters of the series really are just toys so in that way having a plush display of the characters is like having your own smash roster in your collection and if you want to spruce up your display even more or perhaps fill in the gaps of the official characters who don't have any plushies you could always get some of the assist trophies or Pokemon or something to may I recommend this in a plush of Starfy which was released in Japan for the 4th game it's one of my favorites for sure this fangamer plush of undertale sans is deserving of a spawn your Smash display - there's also the question of which of the future DLC characters well plushies - well of course we'll never know until they're revealed I'd say it's pretty likely that plenty of the we'll be able to be displayed in your collection and there you have it a guide on which Smash Bros characters have officially licensed plushies and hey if your favorite
