How Chickens made me Broke in Stardew Valley

hey everybody welcome back to the farm i'm a little sick today so sorry if my voice sounds a little bit off today we have one concern chickens i need some cash and these blueberries are going to be growing for quite a while so i would really love to begin assembling my chicken army we have 3 000 gold i can't remember how we got that but that's pretty good i think we're going to put it all into chickens and then maybe start looking at getting a coupe upgrade i don't know how expensive that is we can stop by robin's today to figure out what we need for that i need to make sure i leave myself with enough money to function because i have kind of a bad habit of pouring all of my money into something and then immediately regretting it i think our main way to get some money now is probably just to go foraging because i guess fishing would probably be better but i think i would actually rather die than do more fishing so we're just gonna not hi doggy tree farm is coming along nicely i want to get a stone pickaxe because i want to get rid of this stupid rock here all right so we're gonna get one more check from marnie uh look around do some foraging and then i guess we can go check on the coop upgrade at robins see if we are even close to being able to afford that oh she's actually behind the counter can you believe it it's insane we have greg and we have gerg and we have the guy i already forgot greg i guess we can just make the loop around the woods doing some wood cutting might also be worth our time because we keep running out of wood i keep pouring all of my wood into decorating the farm and then i just remain poor i'm surprised i didn't get called out last episode for consistently complaining about how little money we had and then using up all my wood to make a nice little path and then continuing to complain about how little money we had i'm not very financially responsible i'm not afraid to admit that about myself ooh traveling salesman uh looks like just a bunch of overpriced garbage rare seed all right i know i was just talking about how i need to be responsible with my money this is not a purchase i need to be making right now i should not left-click because i will be very poor god i'm such a failure i have absolutely no self-control we're kind of moving out of snail's pace we need to make sure we actually make it to robin's before she closes hi sam trying to kick flip let's see it [Music] cool while we're on our way to robbins we should also check the calendar for birthdays wonder what alex is doing today well i hate to be the bearer of bad news but i think i just saw him leaving the beach kind of going out on a limb here but i don't think he wants to hang out with you haley no rainbow shells which is a bummer because those sold for like a ton if i remember correctly i want to upgrade my tools but this is gonna shock you we are cripplingly poor well not cripplingly we can still buy stuff but it's just it's depressing sometimes this game is too much like real life and it's sad there's so many things i want i just don't have any money all right robin let's see construct farm buildings coop barn we could also go for a barn i do like cows no our goal is to create a chicken army so i'm getting distracted cabin home for a friend what does that mean can like npcs move in does anybody know what that means let me know if you know what that means i'm confused big coupe 10 000 gold 400 wood 150 stone yeah i don't think we'll be hitting 10 000 gold anytime soon but that is a goal to work towards i suppose ah i forgot my hoe always bring a hoe kids i think i've said that exact phrase like every episode so far something that i've been kind of interested in playing on the channel recently is the binding of isaac if you haven't heard of it it's a pretty fun roguelike game that i have been super into for years and there was just a huge like dlc update for the game so i kind of want to play it on the channel but i also don't want it to take away from the series i'm currently doing so i'll probably wait to play it but let me know if you'd be interested in me playing that i think it'll be pretty fun all right let's cut down some trees actually let's check on our bats see what's going on there one peach better than nothing i guess why do i have this ugly hit marker on i need to turn it off it's gross it'll probably be a detriment to my gameplay but hopefully it'll look nicer for you and you guys are my highest priority unless you don't like the video and subscribe in which case honestly i could care less about you you might have noticed that the episode number disappeared from the thumbnail i just think it's it's kind of not as nice to look at when there's like a big fat number in there so if you still want to keep track of like what episode is what i'm gonna start putting the episode number in like the the hashtags at the top of the description it should be like right above the title so if you want to know what episode in the series it is you can just look there and you'll find it all right i think we're gonna call it a day we're pretty much out of energy i think we're just about out of trees to chop down on our farm well there's some over there i guess but i don't care about that area i want to get that steel pickaxe because i hate that this rock is just in the middle of our fence my marmalade is still a cooking i hope that sells for like anything substantial i'm gonna be really sad if i waited forever for that and it pops out and it's like three gold pedi by level six forging we can make a lightning rod which i will not be doing i will not be doing any of these but the axe proficiency is nice and every level towards level 10 is a win because the level 10 bonus for foraging is insanely good i don't know why i checked the weather i honestly do not care good morning blueberry children whoa we already have a harvest for the for the hot peppers all right i know at some point uh george asks for a hot pepper for his knee so we'll try to save one to do that quest because i think he pays double the value for it and if you really think about it isn't friendship worth more than any amount of money i would say no because i really just want money at this point friendship cannot buy me chickens oh my god oh it's just called orange jelly i was kind of hoping it would be like marmalade or something well in the bin oh wait is it a community center item no okay bye bye all right let's say hi to our lovely chickens oh shoot i forgot to feed the new chick do they need to be fed on the first day they're back is it does it already hate me no okay cool so you don't defeat them on the first day also oh my god wambus he's so big we have produced our first egg surely one of many to come alright so we're working on some mayonnaise over there so now i guess i'll just save up for the bigger coop i don't really know what to do now if you all have any good ideas please let me know in the comments i am absolutely helpless i don't want to go fishing i hate going fishing because then like just watching me fish is not entertaining so i usually just cut it all out of the video but then i spend like 20 minutes recording something that doesn't even go into the final product so i hate fishing on the show i will take a stroll around the beach and see if there are any crates also i don't want to get rid of these trees up here because i think they look nice i think it would look kind of bare if they were gone there's a crate here we go coffee i'm cool with that i double check to make sure i'm recording like once every 10 seconds i have ptsd from that one time i recorded pokemon for an hour and a half and then watched back the recording and it was all just one frame of video that was just frozen that hurts when that hat it like you feel it in your soul when that happens it's really sad see i want to buy more chickens like as soon as possible but i don't really have an avenue to do that right now maybe i should just get a second coop instead of upgrading it maybe i should just get a second coupe started you know what i like that i like that where am i going to put it though because i have i have a coupe here i guess i could put it like in this oh yeah i could put it like right here our mayonnaise is ready the first mayonnaise what a triumphant moment let's drink the coffee i can always use some extra movement speed oh my god i'm so fast let me go blink and i'm gone look at me oh my god let's check if there are any birthdays birth uh gus day after tomorrow all right i like gus he's cool i'm down to give him a nice present newspaper good stuff i'm making a beeline for the beach if there are any rainbow shells oh boy those are going straight in the shipping bin i haven't been this motivated to make cash in so long it's the chickens they drive me alright so there is absolute jack on the beach so that's great willie can you spare any cash if the local fishing scene got a bit more lively i might expand the shop stock good luck with that cause i'm definitely not fishing anytime soon no the coffee wore off wait what what's going on here mmm i smell a barbecue are you sure that's a barbecue and not the pollution that clint is putting out from his blacksmith shop no wait i was gonna no no oh god i don't know what to do with my time i feel like i'm just wasting the days away i'm not making any money hi marnie i hate you i don't have time for pleasantries marnie and of course we're not going to talk to elliot here's a soggy newspaper you absolute tool that gives me a terrible feeling i'll have to dispose of it yeah oh i'm so sorry that i made you feel that way every time i see elliot he makes me more angry my absolute long-term goal for this series is to somehow get my revenge on elliot but i don't want to do it until like episode like 60. i want to be this huge build up to a disappointing conclusion i really want to upgrade my tools there are too many things i want to do man i just don't have enough money for it once we hit like the 15th i'm gonna be a machine i'm gonna have so much money to work with all right p.m yet another day spent doing nothing and then cutting like four trees and going to bed oh hat mouse oh look at these hats no i need to save money well ah i want a hat but i want chickens no chickens chickens take priority no okay i just need to keep walking that was that was really hard it was really hard to walk by him without buying a hat did you see the house he was living in he's clearly in some hard times i feel terrible not supporting his small business speaking of that always support local businesses man the grass is really taking over the bottom of my farm jeez i'm very curious to see how much the orange jelly and mayonnaise sold for i hope a lot i have a feeling i'm about to be disappointed though what orange jelly is 250 each i waited like five days for that all three of those things combined for only 6.90 i make more from that from like one day of foraging i knew i was gonna be disappointed so i tried to lower my expectations and it still somehow fell short of even that what's less sad though is that it's a new day we can do whatever we want with it we could water some plants head a chicken kill a neighbor go fishing wow we have a lot of wood we don't have a lot of stone should we go mining we haven't gone mining in like forever chicken friends we have three now oh it's exponential i want my farm to be overflowing with chickens all right i think our goal should be to raise at least 1500 gold today so we can maybe start building the coop tomorrow floor 85 all right wow awesome start i spent all my time in the mines until i was able to get a gold watering can and then just completely ditched it for like like two months there used to be a glitch where when you hit that dude the like high-pitched metal sound he makes would cut off whatever music is playing like if there was a song playing and you hit him and it made the ting noise the music would just stop i don't know why it happened it's probably fixed maybe not though i don't know i don't have music turned on when i record since i like to edit the music in afterwards so it's not all like cut up when i make jump cuts only the finest for my loyal subscribers speaking of we're at 180 tempered broadsword oh this is this is the one that usually has the obsidian edge i guess this one is plus four speed this one is negative three speed but it doesn't it does more damage i actually prefer the bone sword even though this says it's a higher level i tend to prefer the quicker swords mainly because i suck and i don't have to worry about timing i can just click a lot and it works there's a diamond yeah there we go one diamond have we donated one yet we actually have okay so i won't feel that guilty about selling it we really need the cash i keep saying that as if it's like a be-all end-all this is this is my own decision i'm doing this to myself but at this point i'm in too deep and i need the second coupe there should be coal at the end of this right yeah and an emerald and some gold and a ladder oh my god good thing i decided to check this out warp totem farm oh that's actually really good i can just use that so i can stay like really late in the mines and then just like warp home so i don't have to walk that's awesome this is like the best minds day i've like ever had oh that might change though oh my god oh my god wow that thing like third grade kids would do when people played freeze tag where right when you're about to get him they'd be like time out time out you can't tag me because i call time out there's a special lair in hell for those children ow stop can we just be friends i'm not even you know what i say can we just be friends as i'm repeatedly slicing him with my sword he attacked me first though just because i'm quote unquote destroying his habitat like uh how about stop being a baby oh it's midnight okay yep we're just gonna i don't know how this thing works oh okay peace here we are my mayonnaise did i remember to feed the chickens i did cool cool like i would ever forget i would definitely forget level six mining let's go and level four combat did we oh my god easy 2500 let's go our mahogany tree is grown oh it looks super cool i will plant more of those around the farm for sure once once i reach the point where decorating the farm is my top priority because i am very far from that point dog dog dog can you move you're kind of you're kind of exactly where i need to be how much hardware do we get seven okay we got eight hardwood and did not get another seed this is something i want to do though that that actually that's a feature i would love to have eventually on the farm is like a giant farm of those trees because i hate having to go to the secret woods every day let's do our chicken business and then we're buying a coop and all four of them are all grown up now nature is beautiful what is gus like i never can remember what everyone likes all right let's see gus's favorite gifts are diamond escargot fish taco orange and tropical curry we had an orange and then we turned it into freaking jelly we need to give him a love dude i want to be good friends with him oh shoot we forgot to plant flowers again we should make we should get we should get a summer spangle or whatever quest three red snapper yeah i'm gonna pass one spangle ten grass starter okay and i forgot my stone and wood at home what is that hello oh it's a crate geodes we also need to give gus a present but i don't think we have any of the stuff he loves hello ma'am coop now oh you know i need to boom 100 stone construct farm buildings coop yes and it's going right there okay now we can do the community center oh my god i literally said at the beginning of the video i need to make sure i don't blow all of my money on this chicken craze and i did it i'm so stupid i don't know where to put this uh there sure this is kind of awkward to just be blank here so i'm gonna do that there we go okay let's just give him i guess something that he likes whatever i think he likes mayonnaise let's just give him one of our our jars of mayonnaise there's something so wonderful about the idea of just going up to someone and being like happy birthday i got you mayonnaise why am i back here gus i heard you like mayonnaise happy birthday i sure did remember like 20 minutes ago friends yay wow i have four friends look at me go this game really is just like regular life i'm just standing here congratulating myself on having four distant acquaintances not like that's how my real life is i have tons of friends you just i just you just haven't met them they live in another state they go another school we're gonna have eight chickens and we only have four mayonnaise machines we're gonna need to find a more efficient way to put these
