HIROSHIMA's Rebirth is Inspiring 🇯🇵 MUST TRY Local Food and Attractions (Japan)

good morning guys today I will explore Hiroshima very excited to explore this city in Japan for the first time but first I'm going to go get a melon bread because yesterday I went to this little cafe called Little Mermaid and the melon breads look insane I hope they have it but uh let's go guys tell you what I just love Japanese food this is my second time in Japan and I always put on weight here but it's cuz I always eat way too much because I want to try all the foods so if you haven't had melon bread before just wait till you see this it's insanely good so it's a little mermaid let's see if they have it okay guys they have a little eating spot here all right so let's try [Music] this so good you see there's a sugar on top it's like a sugar roll it's obviously very sweet but really just the top is sweet you got to get this 7-Eleven also sells really good melon bread but that one was incredible not too sweet but uh definitely sweet enough all right so what I'm going to do today there's a bunch of things I'm going to do today I'm going to try the famous okono Miaki which is a food here in Hiroshima that you have to try and I'm also now on my way to check out the peace Park which is kind of where the atomic bomb museum is and get some of the history on the tragic event that happened here in Hiroshima so going to go do that I'm expecting this to be a pretty sobering day in fact I thought about this a lot like you know as an American how do I make a video about this topic I'm not sure how much of the uh peace Park I will show I think it will be a really nice travel experience for me and I also think that it will be very good for me to see this to see the local perspective of what happened here uh during the World War II era obviously you know as an American this is a tough video to even film and shoot but you know this is why you travel right so you can get the locals experience the local history and the local timeline of events that happens and it hopefully will open my mind Beyond which just what I just learned as a kid growing up all right Yuzu Bridge we're going to walk across that to get to the peace Park uh and the uh peace Memorial area and if you look at the Google Maps there are a ton of what do you call them like prominent locations or uh areas here in this part the shadow of a bridge ring oh okay so this this was imprinted from the uh the thermal rays of the bomb dropping this Shadow here wow this is an absolutely peaceful walk to the Peace Museum another part of this video that I'd like to highlight is it seems like hirim is a really modern city like a hyper modern city and we're definitely to go into further deeper into the city after probably eat some Kono Miyaki although many of those aono Miaki spots don't open until like 5 so we'll have to see here but yeah I also want to see more of the downtown area hey guys we're coming up to the peace Memorial Park here and uh from the outside it looks to be so beautifully done like constructed at this beautiful Fountain here with all of the uh flowers and everything over there you can see all of the tour buses here and so clean as are many things in Japan I don't know where we start do we go in here we start walking that way do you need a ticket I don't know these are not things that I have really searched uh maybe this is the exhibition let me see here 200 yen for this so I'm in the memorial here and I was told that uh picture cameras are okay here so guide you through here gives you a Roots so here she before the bombing I believe this is like just where we were walking or close to it something like that and they have the cars the uh what's it called they just rode one of them say um oh I'm already forgetting the name so you can see the progression of the events a lost s oh man and this is the uh aftermath here's the museum here's where the event occurred boy it's tough man that was a uh sobering is not the word that was a really challenging experience really insightful though like I think if you come to Japan you should make the trip to Hiroshima and experience it it's a very heavy feeling being in there many people were choked up and walking through the museum locals and you know other foreigners alike and what I'll say is the museum is really really well done in conveying the emotion the severity and just the timeline of events um yeah it was like a really really really humbling sobering experience but it's a great musicum Museum like the way that it's laid out and created and you really get a lot of the history in detail that I think the hardest part was the amount of detail I mean it's very important that that it's detailed but the amount of detail that went into describing what happened I think is probably the hardest part in seeing that the museum sort of like ends with the dangers of atomic or nuclear weaponry which was very was fascinating read it goes over the history of nuclear weapons and why you know it would be best you know it goes over the history of nuclear weapons and why this area and the City of Hiroshima is dedicated to going to ensuring that there are no more hirosima so I almost kind of like don't want to make a video after that it's like yeah it's just like challenging and that's just me as a foreigner visiting you know can't imagine like if you're local or if you're you know Japanese having to go go through that museum boy just a heavy heavy experience but I'm very very uh glad that I came and did this and saw it and just the whole area here this whole peace Park is like I said so well done it's it's beautifully architected and created and again that museum is just one of the best museums I had chance to go through just in terms of the history the detail the design all of it all right so I'm going to take a minute to read this see what it's about okay this is the abomb Dome and this is a world heritage site now became world heritage site in 1996 but here we have like some fruit juice it's like really cool you can sit have fruit juice or looks like you can get pizzas here as well I think I will get a uh orange juice get orange juice hello hi there may I have an orange 5:00 I'm extremely hungry so I think I'm going to try to find one but we're right near hondori which is the area here in Hiroshima that seems to be extremely developed uh well the whole area is developed but there seems to be like a lot of retail shops all sorts of stuff so I want to go check that out and oh look we've got another one of these indoor well here's a classic old 7-Eleven but we've got another one of these and my subscribers in my last in my first Japan series told me that this has a name um you can find these particular Al in the middle middle and southern regions of Japan like in Osaka Kyoto and now here in Hiroshima it's like in how do I say the top part is to protect against rain obviously so you you can use it without getting rained out um yeah let's take a look through here it would be cool for me to get some aono Miyaki before too oh vintage and retro look at this Museum in cafebar and you can buy uh you can buy blue moons here okay I kind of feel like I need to do this yeah I have to do this let's see if it's open there's like tobacco and cigarettes in here oh look got the classic the first version of The Game Boy Oh all of these Game Boy accessories I've never seen before like a rechargeable battery pack I didn't even know that was a thing hand game machine oh it's a four player adapter oh wow like popcorn all sorts of stuff here all right that was a cool little Museum not much there but if you are interested in r Tech that's kind of a cool place oh we've got Hiroshima neighborly Brewing looks sweet get some makono Miyaki and me first oh we've got Tito station I remember seeing those all over Japan my first trip here it's like arcade oh wow this goes on for quite a bit let's see what's down here oh wow yeah see this is what I was thinking of when I was coming in here we've got a uni over here when I took the what is it the rail car or what the tram I'm going to call it a tram it reminds me of a tram Bento boxes and stuff like that oh Mr donut very cool Mr donut and a baskan Robins oh wow this place looks very popular for some Ramen all right guys well let's keep walking forward here all right here's the other side of the uh gosh remind me again in the comment section what this is called but just walked through that side and now there's another side to it here all these little uh shops and eateries that you can dip into that's one of my favorite things about coming to Japan it would take you your whole life to eat at every restaurant in Japan I mean not just in Japan but like in Tokyo generally let alone Osaka Kyoto fima same deal look there's like an open air restaurant here or it's not open air but you can see how they're how the pastries are made I'm assuming they're pastries oh wow it's called Anderson Hiroshima oh it's like a bread bakery yeah wow look at this let's take a look in here oh it looks really good wow guys look at this this bread oh it smells incredible in here get that bread oh smells just like you would have think but time 10 oh cheese oh that looks [Music] amazing see do they have melon bread here have like wines and stuff maybe the melon bread would be over here maybe they oh yeah here it is but they call it the Anderson Sunrise maybe it's a little different oh that looks good might have to back here after I eat oh Ryan as well wow this looks so good you know what actually I'm going to get it I'm getting it yeah I'm going to get one there's like a little eating area out here it's heating too it's nice I think sit right here all right let's try Anderson Sunrise is it different than a melon bread I don't know it's very quiet here so I'm got to be quiet all right let's try [Music] it wow so that one was sweeter than the one I had earlier in this video this morning um I think it might have been a little better but it's hard to say it's really really good so there's a place over here called uh beer Lovin or beer loen beer loin so I'm going to keep eating cuz I'm in Japan that's what I do guys it has really warmed up here it's like 50 over 50° so feels really nice actually definitely the warmest day so I've been here in Japan this time the second trip so I've never had a Kono makaki but I've seen it online is how I found out about this local dish and it's sort of like a uh pancake shape but it's like fried noodles with like a bunch of stuff on top it's not sweet it's I don't think so at least it's like a pancake shape with fried noodles and other things it'll be one of the most interesting Foods I've ever eaten I believe so okay so here it is a konaki ju Jim that's what it looks like all right let's go bummer they're closed it's really highly reviewed okay look let's see if uh this one's open so Berg hul maybe Burgers so this is maybe they're open oh man they're not open might have to uh delay the eona Miyaki hunt for a few hours wow this is a really really nice area guys I'm going to have fun exploring this downtown area of Hiroshima this one says open till 2:30 and reopens at 5 maybe it's the one that's has all the people outside probably oysters over here I'm not an oyster guy but oh looks like a bunch of like konaki places Kon Republic okay it's on the second floor wow all right guys let's go here guys maybe I'm glad that came here second floor thank you sorry sorry okay guys so here's where the akona Miaki is made over there I don't know which one's best is someone sitting here um no one was okay is this yours or no okay guys I'm going to go with this one there's a bunch of aono miyakis but I'm going to go with this one you can see under ayaki there's a bunch of special ones there's also Tepanyaki I think that's what I'll do for right now all right I did do a beer car he's cleaning The Griddle I'm very excited for this see there's like a big pot of water boiling back there look like this is getting started on it here it's like a pancake batter almost [Music] some spice on this is so [Music] cool tons of lettuce beans something like that bean sprouts SP oh [Music] [Music] bacon I'm so ready this the egg on frying the egg oh this is going to be so good think I got a healthier one lots of veggies maybe they all are I don't know oh I guess I eat it from there to here I guess I scoop it off of The Griddle to there okay there're going to be F oh it just looks so good look at that hey guys let's try it this bike number one oh the sauce is really really good I've tasted the sauce before but I can't recognize what it is that was so good I can't even describe to you what that was like it was like reverse Ramen it was like Ramen without soup but fried it was like fried Ramen without soup fried on a griddle and you ate it right off the griddle so it stayed hot the whole time perfect with a kierin oh my God that was one of the most unique things I ever had I want like 10 more but I'm so full wow so that is so fun you should go there okonomi Republic and there are a bunch of spots there I went in when there was a school there so there were a bunch of people there when I started but when as I was eating I was the only one in there so I couldn't really get a good like shot of me eating the food like I normally do cuz there was no table space and it was a little awkward but they were so nice in there and they really cared about their food too which was you could very clearly see so seems like the school or something like this is looking at Parco or I don't know what's over here let's take a look at what's over here and uh yeah I think Parco is a um Mall chain that I've seen before in Japan but this kind of looks cool seems like popular I don't know what this is got the heart got the Spade oh wait heart spade diamond oh gosh cards I forget clubs heart club Spades there we go thank you all right it's like up here something oh guys this is kind of cool all right guys let's continue our exploration of Hiroshima to say this is incredibly impressive City like so peaceful to walk around here there's a lot going on it is similar to like um when you go to like Osaka and Kyoto like they're definitely tour groups and stuff but not as much as in Osaka and Kyoto but just really like an idic place to just kind of wander and as the weather has heated up here it's just almost like a perfect day so I think this might be around where I was walking before so let's check it out yeah here's shimah hondori Street see an H&M over there oh my gosh I am so full excuse me uh this is kind of nice like an outdoor book shop here I guess there's like books and Records in there as well a Brutus style book I don't know that's interesting it's one of these days where I don't even really need to bring up the map just kind of walk but I I am lost in terms of like which direction did I start I can't actually remember now it doesn't matter guys I will take a photo for Instagram and I'd also ask that you kindly hit subscribe really helps the channel grow helps me out and helps me continue like a Japanese dessert in the shape of a fish it's like a pancake filling in the middle oh those look good this look so good got the Shack Bar and Grill kind of seems cool Japan is a country that is best explored at night from what I've been able to surmise a lot of things don't open or they're open for a little then they close and they open back up at night which is so interesting to me I'm not much of a night owl so but when I'm in Japan I stay up later need to find a vending machine it's a place to get water can I get some in here ah 88 Yen yes I can perfect this is like a health store or something we actually dipped into one of these 95 Yen it's actually cheaper than lawon or 7-Eleven yum all right ta to station is this a different tit to station I don't remember oh why don't we dip in here guys got your puns yeah see it's 110 Yen here different brand but this is just as good I'm assuming this is going to be all crane games down here oh maybe that's the other side I was walking on oh man this is so fascinating every time I come in one of these oh you can even get like food items here this is uh like gambling it's very hard to win one of these some people are really good at them though from what I've seen on YouTube got cookies here Pringles oh my gosh let's see what's on the top floor oh more crane Gaines up here how far does it go up okay I see spy family good anime Anna I think is her name or no Anna that star horse or I don't know what star horse is I never heard of that wow look at this guys oh it's a uh coin pusher oh man oh this is a huge arcade [Music] wow wow guys never forget when I was in Osaka I think I think it was Osaka I went into one of the uh um Pinko places oh wow it's a literal slot machine air quotes slot machine number 5 oh wow see gambling is technically illegal I think but this is like tell me what else this is this is a slot machine here are the [Music] uh Pinko ah the first time I played this in the Saga was so fun the people next to me were helping me out cuz I didn't know what to do I don't know can you win can you win real prizes I don't know I've heard that you can like trade in your tokens for like something oh look for my Korean friends we got lataria and across from that is one of the coolest tolles coffee I've ever seen wow got something else going on here some type of Mark I was just in Hawaii and it was great to see all of the uh Japanese tourists in Hawaii it was really cool to see it's a very popular destination for Asian visitors to America but certainly the Japanese influence there is is really heavy know what I think I want I think I want a high ball but the problem is none of the bars open till 5:00 it's like 2:30 or so so I'm going to keep walking exploring here Shima then I'm going to go on a highball hunt maybe I'll start now maybe there's one open but it's really nice here guys I think this video should be like The Rebirth of Hiroshima like it's absolutely incredible how this has been rebuilt you know I believe this is yet another section of this walking median strip that I haven't been to but starting to all blend together I don't exactly know see shops I haven't seen before oh no no never mind there's Tito station nope I literally was just here all right well I think I will check out this parkco place seems really interesting okay which way do we start over there or over there oops all right let's start over here wonder if this takes us to the same place I'm sure it does all right let's check out the new Wing that was more just like um oh look little Brooklyn isn't that interesting uh I think this is probably the other section I could have walked in yeah yeah it's kind of what I was more interested in looking at and I noticed they have a Tower Records definitely would like to check that out I've been there in Tokyo okay we've got a Starbucks here and buy and sell which is interesting you can sell your items here like your jewelry gold oh these are cool jackets function they feel really interesting material here wow should have bought one of these how much is one of these jackets oh wow wow so cheap 3,990 M wow that is so cheap that's better than uh unique glow guys look at this this jacket is only like 5,990 Yen which is like not even $50 that's $40 wow that's really nice good material too oh guys I just realized I'm at Muji it's a very popular store over here I've seen them all over Asia I think you can even find them in America now as well like on the west coast I might have seen one in in Hawaii I'm not sure don't uh quote me on that but I think so I guess this section is like house Goods Muji is cool guys Muji is very cool it's like Target almost but I think the prices are better wow oh those look so comfortable they feel so comfortable this is like cheaper Target but like just the same quality maybe even better shopping center is so cool all right let's go check out Tower Records see how compares to the one and I think artists oh okay so you got trumpets and Trum bones and stuff like that it's a music section W look at this I don't even know what this is aop phone what is an aop phone guys it is this guy's playing the Arrow phone sure you can make some beats on that I'm not a musician myself I love music but I'm not gifted in that area of life for whatever reason some people just have it some people don't you've got a DJ equipment Pioneer DJ equipment now this is something I'd love to pick up as a hobby cuz I listen to a lot of electronic music obviously with the jir guys I'm in this vintage shop here and they've got like uh American stuff so like Maryland Seattle Baron softball Coastal Beach Florida oh this is so interesting guys this mall Parco is so cool brings me back to my first trip in Japan not to make this like oh I'm reminiscing but a lot of this trip is going to be like that but uh there so many cool like little eclectic shops in there and actually happy to say it's so warm that I got a bag they gave me a bag for free and put my uh sweater in so let's keep exploring guys oh I really like yima it's so nice here guys oh it's Don kote can I film in there I know some of them I can't film let's check out Don kote oh man if you haven't been to a Don kote you got to come it's a discount store everything I believe is taxfree the story of Don kyote is really interesting the guy loathed taxes which is why everything's taxfree CBD mini shop I didn't see a no filming sign so just the way these D geotes are laid out like with the lights strung up and everything it's always so crazy like everything's jammed in here trying to think of another shop you know like Ali in America do you do you have an Ali near you when I was growing up there's an Ali's discount store it's kind can get like beer kuchi curve I'm not going to lie I kind of want to try that okay across the street here seems like every single bar in all of Hiroshima is located here so it's early for this but none of them are open but let's see kind of like a square or Plaza here this is interesting someone playing music so maybe this is like hiroshima's NTI area or something I think that's a maid Cafe we're not going back in one of those but maybe this is the nightl area okay so I took the translate app there and it's suu can I guess is what the street is called and W well if you want to do a Hiroshima made Cafe this is where you want to go all right guys let's try this fire coffee they don't take the IC here but I'm down to one GoPro battery the day is still young so we're going to see what we can do here oh change is going to be a nightmare all right here it is I don't see this coffee brand everywhere hello not bad it's okay actually think I like golden drip in the Golden Mountain or whatever it is or the whatever Mountain Emerald Mountain I think it's a bit better huh guys I'm getting kabucho Vibes here not going to lie just wasn't expecting it I don't know all right guys whiskey eyballs that whiskey and soda oh it's so good berri smooth light and refreshing let's go get some yakatori guys I shouldn't do this but we're doing it oh it's closed guys dang okay lots of things closed ah perfect another Japanese beer hall let's go there okay which way do we go in oh look this is what I'm looking for anyway yakatori perfect and it might be happy hour let's see here let's go in nice guys nice kind of wanted to stick to a pball but 220 in DFT beer is uh tempting me cheers it just says draft beard I don't know what it is but hits the spot now I'm just deciding I think I'll get a thigh skewer Spirit steak we'll see from there I've had some of these other ones and uh I think it was Kyoto actually and they're they're good but uh not feeling adventurous today so wow you can actually smoke in here not expecting that it's kind of an interesting twist plot twist I don't SM okay guys what do we go for first we got the skirt steak we got the chicken thigh this is a really really nice Vibe I really like it here all right I'm going to go chicken first thank you cheers Feer number two I like it nice and juicy should we try some of this why not oh that's too much okay hopefully it's spicy I don't know what that is it's actually okay it's a bit spicy mhm try the SC Ste Yori is one of my favorite Japanese Foods all right guys well that was an absolutely incredible day here in Hiroshima it started off a little bit rough with the uh Museum but again I'm really glad I saw it I recommend that you go see the Hiroshima Museum I think it's a really good experience to have especially if you're an American just see that side of the events that happened but I had a really great day here in Hiroshima exploring the city and lots of beer lots of food
