Hidden Tokyo Breakfast Food Tour

in this video I'm gonna show you guys my top breakfast spots in Tokyo good morning everyone so there's just so many awesome food spots here in Tokyo obviously if you've watched my videos you know that there's so many places to eat drink and just have a good time but a lot of them open at 11 o'clock in the morning so you can't really have breakfast usually the best place to have breakfast is your hotel or if you go to places like Tsukiji market then it's really open but to find other places is a bit difficult so in this video I wanted to kind of break it all down and share with you some of my favorite morning breakfast spots so you guys can have a breakfast here in Tokyo but before I started if you guys won't help support the channel check out the Tokyo merch if you want to see what I'm links are always in the description all right let's get our breakfast on number one ski gijón gahjii cafe tsumugi so skeezy market is definitely a must go breakfast spot but that's already widely known which wouldn't do this video justice but just around the corner there's a secret hidden breakfast spot tucked away inside skeezy home Guzzi temple and i know you here at my channel for that tokyo local low down so i'm here to let you know about this japanese-style breakfast and tea spot with a temple view this place hasn't caused some asset Japanese meal when you first arrive you'll actually have to get a reservation ticket to wait in line and then when they finally call your number then you're able to come in actually breakfast so it opened at 8 o'clock and closes at 10:30 but they only have 110 at meals available in the morning so if they sell out then they're all sold out so for breakfast the go-to motors as Japanese set meal with 18 little dishes with all you can eat porridge what I really love about this place is that each dish when you pick it up it has the Japanese in the English and description of what you're eating so everything is super easy to enjoy your food and know you're eating and check out this grill dance at the mo with a miso paste on top [Music] Wow instead of like a dry potato it's more kind of like a yeah I'm actually kind of a little bit more moisten has kind of a mushy texture to it and the pears are really well wouldn't be so what other favorite is the Yuba and they've paired it with some salmon roe or also known as you could I here in Japan this is kind of like Cuba if you don't know it's like the skin of the topi then the top layer you get that loveliness right there let's try with a yukata hmm the way you'll find is that you have like a really really mellow flavor with a Yuba so it brings out that you could have when you've kind of paired it together this is a men Piko which is a spicy cod roe and it's also mixed with some seaweed nori now this a spicy color has a lot of flavor has a lot of bite to it when it's like almost so spicy that you shouldn't probably eat it by itself what's nice is that it comes with kind of like a rice first it's called Oh Caillou - basically what you do is you take the meant ICO throw it onto the rice like this and it mellows out then Tyco flavor and if you go with a partner like Michael we can play tradesies if I don't like something and she'd like something then we get actually tried the different dishes I'll give you my sweet kombu for your duck it's also to get these secondly the specific really cool so that's what I'm like so excited being here just like looking at the whole lungi right in front of you is also amazing they didn't renew years ago and like your looks number two tokyo tojon say cuts in this hidden breakfast spot is just five minutes away from Gotanda station this joint has locals lining up around the building for their Taiwanese style breakfast breads and freshly made tojon soymilk bowls you can either throw down on the regular soy milk like this one to go with their delicious breads or you can do what I did and go with our most popular dish gentle John it's seasoned with vinegar hints of chili and their original seasonings then especially Japanese shop that sells our Taiwanese and this is like a special oil milk / like tofu mixture and it has some fried that is a nice suit contagious soy milk in there and it has like a nice creamy texture it's like nice and gentle but it has kind of like a savory salty taste to it and the fried bread it goes so well with this soup but it soaks up all of that kind of soy milk in there and it's kind of like a gooey mishima crazy like the more I eat this I cook better against you can definitely taste as vinegar in there we have the oil in it it's just packed with flavor I love the onions you can see that they have like these little pickles in it kind of just liven it up a little bit what's nice about this place is they also serve a fried up right here when we just break it up in front of you that they have actually meat in this one it says onion and pork meat wow that's amazing on the outer layer it's an item in a leaky breaks apart but their bottom it has like a harder texture to it and it has a lot more like consistency it's like a little bread dumpling oh and something I noticed you see is that it doesn't get quite busy on the wheat this is actually okay but on Saturdays you have to be really really careful but the limes could actually go outside of the building and I think it's sold out they just stopped selling everything so if you do come here on a Saturday then come early and still be prepared to be waiting in line number three skeezy sushi say at brand said Tokyo Krantz is a big-ass shopping area under Tokyo Station which is filled with bento shops food spots and souvenir sweets that many people sleep on for their morning delights but today I'm introducing to you a dope sushi shop that even has a proper counter with roots at Tsukiji so you'd know they're coming with a freshness so if you're looking for us if she spot then look no further than Tokyo Station in this spot there's actually a lot of restaurants in this location because a lot of people are traveling and during this time so this sushi place has a regular lunch menu and dinner menu but in the morning they have several different morning sets and today I will have my go to the zoo kid on it has some tamagoyaki presents salmon maybe put off and it has some Echota and seabreams that had all the major sashimi all on a rice bed but the thing is that fish is already a surgeon so you don't really need the season it but I like to add a little bit of show you in my sake so what I do is get some wasabi to throw that in there put a little soy sauce just like this mix around let's just put it all in just like and they got a little excited that's kind of a lot that fish is so old fresh as a vegetable wasabi on there so I'm sorry sauce is just so fresh it's amazing this is some Negi total in there one more bite so Mike ordered the sea bream - yo Chaz gay comes in sesame sauce wasabi so first without dashi you eat it as is with rice - it's like the soup is except for white and mixed with sesame sauce it's not something [Music] you had a big chunk of wasabi it's this much of Isis isn't perfect number four alpha beta coffee Club so this video wouldn't be complete if I didn't introduce at least one and coffee shop in fact there's just so many cool coffee shops in Tokyo that I couldn't cover it all in this video but if you guys want me to do a video and just on coffee shops in Tokyo let me know in the comments so this place is in Chicago called alpha beta Coffee Club and has actually started by an X Google employee because all the measurements ingredients and all that is done by like perfect calculations and my formulas so everything is that a perfect key that are perfect quantities everything is just like measured out which is pretty cool and that's an actual set menu and this is the drip coffee they have all sorts of it with different beans that you can choose from which is really really nice that is so good you guys know I love ice coffee but I just wanted to show you guys this cup itself it's just a pretty cool huh and I got in a house ie bow which is quite difficult to get here in Tokyo I have the bananas on top you have some blueberries raspberries you have some honey some granola and have a sigh at the bottom even some little strawberries right there look at that lovely bite [Music] that is so good like I love how you know Asahi comes and it's frozen it almost feels like a frozen and snack it's a perfect combination like honestly this is an awesome place that breakfast it's open early yeah and if you want to get a little bit tipsy they have a bunch of different craft beer as well and this is a fireball I'm not joking it's good like in Japan sometimes you don't expect foreign foods to import very well in fact the site is probably one of those things you don't expect to do very well but man they hit the bull's eye on this one this is a real deal acai ball number 5 Bar Marche Kodama since wink onsen bullet train stopped at Shinagawa station many restaurants opened early for breakfast to cater to the morning masses in the restaurant area mo shops are open from 7 a.m. like this ramen shop we don't shop and even sushi I'm gonna share with you my little hidden gem that won't break the bank but will keep that belly stuff my favorite meat shop and all-you-can-eat spot just on the side of South acute and when a lot of people don't know is this spot that we're in right now as a morning buffet like it's only 620 yen and if you see a mention ago our station bento video and you know that I've actually featured this shop for sausages so you know it's good they have all-you-can-eat prosciutto which is like a very very Japanese at favorite you have sausage right here and then you have some and we have two kinds of breads they have a croissant roll and then they have to set the regular but gets and you can toast that if you want him they also have salad with two types of dressing usually it's not all the largest selection in the world but it's all-you-can-eat and it's only six hundred and twenty yen which is a freaking amazing deal just try this ham right there let's go ham on this mmm it's a nice kind of like savory head hit a little bit like sweet taste to it some sausages in here too still warm all the nice juices is still encapsulated in this like little wiener that's amazing it's like a little bit thicker than normal which is nice like it's like really really meaty mom is kicking this and one thing to note is if you really want to get your drink on before you get on the Shinkansen or for breakfast they serve beer wine and if you want to get like a customized latte or something like that they have that as well it's everything you need for breakfast even drinks and number six Gucci no tamago choku by joe right in the middle of Tokyo's business district inside of Akasaka biz tower this hidden gem is an egg specialty restaurant called Gucci no tamago they serve fresh quality eggs produced in Luchino Fukuoka every morning and at this spot you don't have to care what came first the chicken or egg is you can have both all right so this it's my ahkahuna breakfast a special spot this spot serves it for breakfast and have fresh eggs every day in fact they have eggs just set out in front of you so you can choose the one that you want which is pretty awesome it has some scrambled eggs that have already been precooked and then you can choose an egg and put it on top not like two different kinds of egg and you have a chicken and they called oyakodon because olia is a parent and Cole is childlike parent and child rice bowls head which is pretty awesome me being me it wouldn't be complete and if I didn't throw some chili pepper on there let me just break this egg look at that I just broke it apart let's have this mother and child a rice bowl say Japanese it sounds like it makes sense but in English probably not the best thing to say oh let's have a bite [Music] the eggs are cooked perfectly then then just a raw egg on top just adds a little picture gooeyness the chicken as well as tender and moist then you have the price which is also cooked quite well what an unbeatable combination so Micah ordered her favorite tamago really play the ball laughing yeah every time you go on these things whatever Michael orders I also eat as well so it's nice when you're a couple you get to like try two things every time while you like you mix it a lot so you gets kind of like a frothy and the pegs are just really really flavorful Wow that's amazing you'd be surprised just egg and rice and a little bit of this soy sauce oh they happier it's quite a delicious meal and it's raw - one thing about Japan and like a lot of countries will say that flow I can't believe it eating raw egg but the in Japan are really really safe but I've had raw egg ever since I came to Japan and I've never gotten sick once because just like the care and attention to safety is pretty strict in Japan so you always know that your eggs that you eat are quite safe alright so that
