Helping Out With The OnX Build Challenge

[Applause] we are doing a little project this morning uh I don't know we're gonna be the recovery crew for a build challenge brought to you by Onyx in a weird twist of fate this video is brought to you by Onyx Mavericks stick with me so if you need a map if you need to know a map and how to read it um [Laughter] fine tune this stuff let me figure it out we're gonna meet everybody in the parking lot we're supposed to be there at eight so yeah here we go let's see what trouble we get into [Music] all right so we're here so Onyx is uh sponsoring this event where they're doing a build challenge so these guys there's the four teams I believe have stock rigs that we're gonna take they're gonna attempt Moab Ram see how they do and then they get a budget and a time to build them and then bring them back and then try try the trail again and see how much well or how much better they did anyway it's a fun event we're the recovery people to help them out and so we brought a couple rigs we got Sean Mike everything we got our we got our crew to do recovery and do whatever look famous people and uh it's like a Dodge Blazer it's a Blazer Dodge what do we got here look at this [Applause] I like the hooks on I was like I'm losing clearance but I'm leaving though all right so what do we got going on here well we're gonna do uh we're not allowed to modify it in the way that we're adding or removing Parts but I could cut anything I want in half sure so I'm going to slice this side of the sway bar in the front and the rear to make it to where it does more of this and a lot less of this gotcha [Music] yeah thank you [Music] this is not what I would recommend a stock vehicle to be on this is definitely lockers required uh territory the very first part of this Trail up to the first Overlook you're gaining a lot of elevation in a short distance so it's constant up but it's constant leaning also the first obstacle the devil's crack is definitely um it's testing the flex of the vehicle that whereas a locker will help both tires pull whether it's on the ground or off [Music] all right come as close to this wall as you can so that your back tires come up then when your back tires come up that ledge then start turning well that's the same line I'm gonna take and I got half of it so having open gifts is definitely a disadvantage on this one [Applause] you want to stay that way here now you got it [Music] [Applause] [Music] let's go [Music] look at all this stuff [Applause] sure [Applause] this way okay come forward [Music] the windshield get anything of anything well that's the light I was trying to get you to take yeah that would uh just with a floating fire we three wheel all the time right do it right there yeah [Applause] hey are you excited to go back down oh yeah come on John's gonna be I think if they would have let me have it a little more [Laughter] around people playing through and uh Miner slow down yeah now turn into it now turn into it very nice very nice [Applause] so I think you've hit your three hit limit to pull you back nicely done sir oh this isn't scary at all everybody I mean if your front tires would turn I think you could give you if if I just had one tire up front that would go just one if you're a little actuator would have just actuated like it did at home [Applause] [Applause] yes Steve [Applause] lift it up driver a little bit driver we made that front scroll bar much [Applause] at the same time I mean like let's just break it off while we go up yeah everybody move get out the way yeah I'm trying to protect them that's it yeah [Music] [Applause] foreign [Applause] look at that Flex Ed all right so now three two at two out of three made it past the devil's crack with some winch recovery thanks to Tow Mater so now let's hear it who do you feel made the best decision of Base vehicle I'm gonna go with the gold standard because I think the Ram charger is a very good place to start you you already have the leaf springs you can bolt in one ton Dodge parts um you have this big house in the back that you can sleep in but the cool thing is is that all the viewers get to vote who is really going to win at the end of this thing yes so take my advice and say I would start with that but I'm pretty sure that these other teams will rise to the challenge and build some really cool stuff but stage one they've got the gold already nicely done very smooth you're down right there everything's dropping yeah there you go wiggle the wheel S turn this way a little back up you get the full hookups yeah I guess we are back up turn that way [Applause] you're gonna come this way thank you clear all right I'm gonna transfer you over Let It Roll let it roll right there nicely done so how was that it was pretty sketchy I don't know why thank goodness the Rolex there to kind of get us up a little bit and help us up we needed that little that little push but other than that we gave it a go and we got as far as we could so [Applause] coming down to that next step up and down everything's dropping down okay foreign [Music] [Music] all right foreign [Applause] thank you what is this these are some sweet rigs oh I gotta
