HellDivers 2 Performance Test - Steam Deck Oled vs ASUS Rog Ally (Z1 Extreme)

allly is actually better than steam deex o CPU GPU right now you can see we're at solid mid 40s FPS and this FPS makes this game very playable I'm using by the way mouse and keyboard I never been on this location yet it seems like we're fighting something else I can't quite understand what are the sounds it feels like we are fighting some machines this is very intriguing who are we fighting here and oh what the hell what is this oh they can shoot from the guns that's not normal in this game I probably will die a lot I wonder what are these things feels like robots finally we're fighting something else but bugs oh no I think I'm not going to make it far huh I think I can see one it's like a Terminator hm that's cool well this game just suddenly went from 5 to 11 for me this reminds me of Quake games and I wish ID software will make new games can you only imagine with all this new cool technology we have how good looking quake could be that was my favorite game for many years I wish I wish tell me in the comments which is your favorite game you would like to see fully remastered or even remade we kind of dropped in heat of the bottle to like 35 33 I just saw 38 FPS I mean it's kind of getting to the point where it's almost playable I wish I could add just few more was to the CPU and get like 45 average FPS but unfortunately this is the maximum what steam deck been designed to show oh what is that place feels like some home hard to tell on the screen yet oh that's like an outpost with robots in it are we fighting AI Chad GPT went wild and he's trying to kill Humanity I just noticed that I'm playing together with someone probably his thing thinking what the hell is this idiot doing oh my God he definitely dived in Hell by joining this game this explosion was incredible I must admit I can't see far with this low red screen am I shooting robots or it's hard to tell this is probably the most annoying part of playing on Steam deck the low rare screen you can see this little pixels which my camera can see and I wish I could just adjust some sitting in the camera to remove these pixels but unfortunately this is how it is also by using olet on a steam deck and LCD on RG Al I can't say that olet is superior to LCD it feels to be honest quite similar not that far apart the only Plus on all it is infinite black colors but unfortunately in some games this can be a big downside very dark games or dark places like Shadows they are super dark on the screen and not very enjoyable and unfortunately you cannot fix that once you have this technology on your device that's it also battery life is not that better than RG Al and I'm using RG Al every single day at 15 watts RG Al can leave at around 2 hours hour 5050 W steam de 2 hours 30 minutes just slightly better but on R all you can increase to like 18 to 20 wats and still have like hour 30 hour 20 minutes where on Steam deck this is your limit that's it you can only go lower in wattage I can say the steam deck is good for all AAA titles or less demanding games I'm still trying to get these guys out there is something in this game that you just can't stop playing you just want to do more shoot more blow more it's just sucking you in also wonder what is this thing I just dropped I have no idea this is my third time playing this game okay let's check this part okay nothing's here nothing interesting let's go back let's kill first this Terminator I wonder what if I'll shoot it maybe it will explode oh no it did oh look it's a portal the Terminator is thinking what the hell man RG Aly 720p lowest possible settings Ultra quality upscale I think it is not possible to set 800p on RG alley so I had option 720p or 900p I went with 7 on 20p technically FPS is lower than on Steam deck which is I'm impressed with steam deck so steam deck GPU is more powerful than RG allies I remember we had here 40 to 45 FPS on Steam deck but screen pixel density is so nice on rogg Ally you literally cannot see a damn pixel even through the camera this is just mindblowing how good looking the screen is and because of variable refresh rate game play is nice and smooth right now normally I demand 45 to 60 FPS in this type of games but with this screen 33 absolutely playable am I missing something or there are way too many enemies right now against me I don't remember so many bugs chasing me around the map before but this is madness and I like it look at this they're shooting me from so far this is crazy how am I supposed to fight them maybe I can use orbital strike on them damn it is still on the cool down can I throw this machine gun is this like a turret or something maybe it can just destroy them all let's see I would like to have some support right now like few more hell divers please I think I just realized this is like special gun for me I'm an idiot what to do what to do I don't want to die I decided to skip straight to orbital strike I think this should just kill them all let's enjoy the view oh perfect throw right next to the Wall come on come on come on come on come on come on come on yes whoa they're all just died it well technically they never been alive so they never died FPS so far stays at 30s but frame time also 30s which is kind of concerning and for some reason on the screen I don't feel how heavy this Frame time is okay what is this red thing just flew up also I really like placement of the right thumb stick on r g Ali it's not difficult to aim with this thumb stick like Xbox style and also it is so easy to reach it I'm kind of start developing a muscle memory towards this style of th stick sorry steam deck or Playstation speakers on R Ali are also phenomenal very loud and nice sound lots of bass love it but you know what is the biggest best thing about RG Aly you can also do this right now I just bumped TDP to 30 wats and we at 60 FPS are you kidding me now this game play is almost perfect 720p resolution looks like good 1080p on 27 in screen and all because of amazing pixel density of the screen and size and vrr and 120 HZ so in my opinion this screen is just perfect I must admit that even after purchasing steam deck olet I'm using RG Al every single day as my personal device I'm taking it everywhere during the commute traveling playing on the brakes I never had problems with battery life the only downside well there's actually two first is a cart reader always failing and the second it's a standby it's getting better but it's not there not like steam they call it sometimes when you're try to put it to sleep it can go to Windows login sign in screen but now I know that it might go to that screen and I have to just tap once more to sleep button on the screen itself sometimes games just crashing here and there after the standby for example shadow of the Tomb Raider constantly trying to exit but it is just few games maybe like five out of like 500 when I was playing ratchet and Clan grift apart everything was smooth amazing experience maybe it is not Windows fault maybe just games been written this way and it's something is not very compatible and unfortunately it is what it is by the way we have 18 to 20 frame time with FPS at around 60 so it is super smooth in conclusion RG allly is better but it is not for everyone it is difficult to install things on it you must know Windows you must know how to control Windows it is just sometimes just too much sometimes I just want to press play or resume and play the game but not on this device for someone who would just want to press play and enjoy the game buy yourself a steam deck launched
