HELLDIVERS 2: HOW TO USE YOUR STREAM DECK TO TRIGGER STRATAGEMS

[Music] hell divers 2 is easily one of the most popular games to come out in a long time and it's taking the PS5 and PC World by storm with literally hundreds of thousands of players working together to push back the threat of the terid and automatons to preserve humans way of life with this comes countless hours of entering strategems or codes to call down weapons supplies reinforcements or Firepower from your destroyer in orbit to Aid your efforts these can be tedious and hard to accomplish while in the fog of battle but there is a hack that's been floating around and if you're on a PC and you have a steam deck it's pretty cool this video is going to show you how to set it up and use it and later we'll address the big question of should you use this so stick around and I'll let you know what I think about it all right let's dive in you see what I did [Music] there [Music] so I'm using a stream deck mini but this will work on any of the stream decks and it should work in the mobile app version so if you don't have your own stream deck handy or you don't have the hardware this is another option or at least it should be that all being said I haven't tested the mobile app but it should function the same way so if you do go ahead and test it out let me know in the comments how it works basically what we're going to do is set up a bunch of multitasks and then make them pretty by using some good-looking icons that will make it easy to reference when playing the game there is some setup in game first so let's go ahead and tackle that you're going to want to open up hell divers 2 and go to your control settings we're looking to remap the strategem input Keys as this will allow you a couple of good things and not just the ability to use this hack remapping these keys will allow you to run and enter strategems at the same time so this is a good thing to do regardless of whether or not you use this trick remap each of the appropriate arrow keys on the keyboard as up will be up Arrow left is left arrow and Etc once you're done that return to the stream deck software each page I have on the stream de deck mini is like a separate Loadout for me I've thought about what I'd like to use and I mix and match ahead of time to make it work as seamlessly as possible because of this I don't have a lot of flexibility when choosing strategems before a match so it might be a better idea to organize it whatever way you see fit I've been thinking about making a page for each type of strategy and I might do that but at the moment I'm happy with what I have in my setup I have five strategems and a next button four strategems can be taken into battle one is a reinforce and the last spot takes me to the next load out here's how we get started the first thing you'll need to do is create a multitask I'm going to use a clean page for this to avoid any confusion and we're going to use an easy strategy for this one we're going to use the orbital Precision strike under multiaction you're going to want to grab the first option multiaction drag it to the spot you want it to be and it'll open up the contents of that multiaction under system drag hotkey over from the list you can name each hotkey if you want I uh may or may not have done just that and when You' done that you're going to click to assign the hot Keys function once you've done that the stream deck is now waiting for you to press a key I hit the right arrow as we're going to start off that strategy entry with that you can copy and paste the hotkey or drag another instance of the hotkey over to repeat this since I named all of mine democracy I'm going to copy and paste these to fill out the strategy for the orbital Precision strike once done correctly we should have three hot Keys queued up in the following order right right and up when we push that button on the stream deck it should simply enter the arrow keys input for right arrow right arrow up Arrow during game play all we need to do is press control to call up the strategy list and then push the button on the stream deck and that pattern will get entered I'm going to name the multitask orbital Precision strike so I don't get confused later and then we'll add the corresponding icon to it I'll link where to find all these icons in the description but know that you can use any icons that you would like to make it yours all right let's address the elephant in the room is this cheating honestly I have no idea the game is PVE and it's not introducing anything that gives anyone in advantage over another player if anything it helps out the squad in a lot of good ways ways getting reinforcements down quicker weapons on the field and resupplies all very reliably that being said there will be plenty of salty players who view this as some kind of cheat and to that point maybe they are right I view it as using tools that are available to make life easier on you and your squad so if something like this helps why wouldn't you use it if it were some kind of unfair Advantage I could see it being a problem but we don't compete with each other here so that can't be used as an argument play the game the way you want to play the game and have a good time provided you're not impeding other people in their Pursuits as well at least that's how I come to see it sound off in the comments about your thoughts about this method and be a human about it contain your salt and have very real conversations don't be judgy and be open to new ideas after all we are all on the same team and we need to be ready to jump into the battlefield together and spread manage democracy as best we can I mean at the end of the day how are those bugs and automatons going to get a nice cup of Liberty if we're too busy arguing
