car to a terrifying Amusement Park Fall these daring rescues are turning everyday people into [Music] Heroes this car rescue sent these kind strangers swimming a truck crashed through a railing and plunged into the water inside the sinking vehicle an 87-year-old woman her son and their Chihuahua Good Samaritans jumped into the marina in Long Beach California and worked frantically to save the occupants as the truck begins to fill with water Jeff Perez was one of the Good Samaritans he lifted the 87-year-old passenger out of the truck she was surprisingly calm for the situation I thought it was actually kind of funny too in the midst of all the craziness that she was more concerned about her hair getting wet and her lipstick and thankfully we're able to keep that dry for her hurry up get them out other Rescuers swam over to free the dog and the driver incredibly they all made it up out alive just like that we went right straight through it and I said now what do we do and that's her four-year-old Chihuahua healthy and happy two guys came in the back window and they got in and shoved me up from the behind side she has this message for the heroes I say thank you from the bottom of my heart from water to fire this hero braved an inferno to help these people caught in the middle of of it this Connecticut police officer sprinted to save people from a burning home the cop's body camera captured the heart stopping moments of the rescue is there more is there any more in the house an off-duty firefighter with 15 years on the job helped pull two seniors from the second story he just happened to be in the neighborhood at the time and wasn't even in uniform you know what that smoke smells like and I pulled up on the house and there's Fire coming out the front of the house and people were screaming there's people inside and this is is what an emergency feels like inside of a patrol car responding to a 911 call the officer was sent to the home before rushing out the door into [Music] action at least three people had to be rescued neighbors and First Responders all helped get them to [Music] safety these people are joining forces to catch this girl C in a dangerous situation I yelled up to her let go I promise I'll catch you Matthew Howard is the brave dad who caught the 14-year-old girl her neck is stuck she dangled off the sky ride at Six Flags in New York hanging by her neck her terrified little brother sitting there helpless screaming for help glad my daughter was with me I'm glad this gentl was there trying to help Matthew's daughter Leanne stood underneath the girl as she hung on for dear life Lauren Lent recorded the heart stopping drama on his cell phone brother was screaming and know what really got me is that I can't pull her back up she can't breathe she's choking her her head's stuck her neck's stuck they'll catch you they'll catch you honey the girl just couldn't hold on but Matthew Howard was ready when she released I just braced my body and poof there she goes when she came flying down from about the middle of her back down landed right here on my father's chest which knocked them both down and when I realized what was going on I put my hands to catch her neck and her upper back both Matthew and the girl were knocked out cold but only for a moment they were taken to a local hospital out of the way out of the way the lucky teen was happy to get a surprise visit from her Heroes she's in good spirits it's going to be you know a road of recovery but she's going to be okay all thanks to these selfless strangers with sure hands and strong backs God dropped an angel we all save there this basketball coach did more than show his student how to shoot a three-pointer he saved his life High School freshman Riley Kelly was eating his lunch with his friends when a bite of cheeseburger almost changed everything Riley told wwny y I just didn't chew it all the way surveillance video released by Nebraska's papon La Vista Community Schools shows basketball coach Joel huser working on his laptop while on duty in the lunchroom he notices Riley is struggling to breathe and immed mediately goes over to help coach huser wrapped his arms around the teen and performed the heick maneuver first while Riley was seated then standing him up for better control it's a technique coach user says he is certified in every 2 years during CPR training he told wwny it really paid off this time a sheriff's deputy races to a car fire the dog in the car dog in the car he uses his baton to smash the side window where's it at the back right here right here then he shatters the rear window Thick Smoke pours out Hank the owner calls to his dog Hank and reaches into the burning car there he is Hank pops up drooling from smoke inhalation come on come on bud but he's trapped the deputy takes over oh and tosses Hank into the snow dog's out nothing else is in as the deputy can be heard coughing from the smoke Hank says thank you as only a dog can he leapt out of my arms and was up and moving immediately after I got him out of the car which was very reassuring and here's Hank today safe and sound with his owner Lucian dpre it was the most terrifying experience i' I've had to date um I thought I was going to just watch the carb bur I was just so so glad to have him he's a good buddy Deputy first got the car call about the carfire he had no idea a dog was inside we're glad everybody's okay when it came to protecting their kids from danger these dads turned into [Music] superheroes as I look to the right I see this car coming at a high rate of speed this Dad saved his daughter from an oncoming car Michael D'Or was crossing the street in Los Angeles with his daughter Ryan when he noticed the car speeding toward them with no signs of stopping he was able to push Ryan out of the vehicle's path but he wasn't so lucky getting hit himself that was my main objective was to get her out of the way and if I had to take the hit I had to take the hit it's kind of scary so I started crying while many would disagree Michael says he doesn't consider himself a hero no I mean like I said previously I'm just a dad this Dad made a life-saving kidney donation to to his little girl who was born with severe kidney disease when I found out that she had the disease before she was born I already decided I was going to give her the kidney Mia Oria spent the first few years of her life unable to do many things other kids do like play soccer or ride a bike but after her transplant this is so fun she was able to reclaim her childhood all thanks to a giving father who's just grateful for his daughter's good health anytime she does things that she definitely couldn't do before is when you realize what you did these dads all saved their kids from wild animals during a family hike Ian O'Reilly jumped into action when a coyote grabbed his 2-year-old son's snowsuit and started to drag the child away it just kept attacking and lunging so then I had to straddle it um and put my legs around it and then I put it into a scissor lock by crossing my feet and then just squeezed as hard as I could Ian ended up killing the Rabid coyote with his own hand hands and feet getting bitten in the struggle he had to be treated for rabies but he and his family all survived those are all teeth marks right there dad Matt rasoli fought off a wolf to protect his wife and sons while they were camping it happened in the middle of the night when they heard an animal outside their tent the whole tent Wall came in at us we couldn't see anything pretty violently kind of I remember the whole tent kind of shaking I thought black bear yeah 100% so I that's I yelled get back I tried to just hit and basically push back I don't know if I hit it or if I pushed back but either way when my hand hit the tent something snapped down on my hand Matt says when he realized it was a wolf he fought as hard as he could to get it to run off while his wife protected the children it bit down basically grabbing my entire arm I tried punching it twice with my left hand and I was trying to hit it closer to the neck it felt completely useless he pulled me right through through the opening that it made in the tent wall I grabbed his his ankle or his calf get pulled and I pulled I was just holding on for dear life Matt says the wolf released him from its teeth and the family ran to take shelter in their car they called the incident a nightmare but one they survived thanks to this Brave dad he's always been my hero but more now than ever for sure another Dad's quick thinking saved his child from the grip of a mountain lion when he threw a backpack at the animal and it actually worked there was a mountain lion attack my three-year-old child it like knocked him over and got him by the neck I mean he's okay but he got a pretty good cut on his neck the mountain lion dropped the kid and grabbed the backpack then ran up this tree a witness took this picture of the lion still clutching the bag it was a little shocking right at first because it's just staring down at me motionless with a with a what looked like a kid's backpack I've got to get my daughter this Dad rushed toward danger to save his daughter who called him from the route 911 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas after a gunman opened fire on a crowd hurry up there's a shooting going on there shooting yes please get me there as fast as you can my daughter's calling me the cab driver a father himself was eager to help even after the worried father offered to reward him listen I'm going to give you more money pal no no no man I'm going fire too I can do that for free the whole way there this father just kept talking to his daughter Ashley listen to me stay calm okay stay calm she tells him that she and her husband ran to a nearby Motel 6 that's where the driver heads to pick them up yeah hurry up get in that's us hurry up as Ashley slipped down the trail help thank you sorry I I got her by the foot the Good Samaritan grabs her other foot Mom it's going to be that's right mom was willing to sacrifice herself fearing she would pull her daughter over the Edge but the Good Samaritan wasn't having it no you're not going anywhere we got you then he comes up with a rescue plan you got to hold on both feet I can I only have one arm she's really struggling because she only has one arm okay I'm sorry the terrifying moment happened at mol Noma Falls in Oregon Taylor root was out for a picturesque track with a GoPro strapped to the clock there's a dog inside that locked car there's the little guy and he's suffering because it's 90° outside and who knows how hot inside in this extraordinary video you can see Mark Lewis ramming a large rock against the BMW's rear window the car was in direct sunlight uh facing the lake and it was a black car with a black leather interior with the windows pretty well all the way up so it was uh it was a recipe for disaster he froze the rock once then twice nothing happens finally on the third attempt success okay you got it you got it you got it as Mark reaches in to rescue the pooch named the crowd breaks into Applause what was its condition it was quite lethargic it was just kind of uh it kind of draped itself over my arm you could tell it was overheated within 5 minutes the dog is full of light Mark a radio sales manager in Ontario Canada had these words for the dog's owner you really have to use your best judgment and on that particular day the owners of this dog in this car did not use their best judgment now one location of your emergency a baby is trapped in a locked car in Texas on a warm sunny [Music] day police say it was 93° outside but 123° inside when they were called to the scene I believe there's a baby inside the car she's by herself after several attempts officer Christian pania breaks in just I'm thinking how I'm going to get her out and how I'm going to get her out safely with [Music] I noticed that she had vomited on herself and you know through my training experience I know that that's the first sign of heat exhaust I know I know I know I know I know I got it I got it's okay it's okay it's okay the calm thinking quick acting police officer saved the little girl's life is this your daughter yeah oh my God okay I know it's okay I came into this you know specifically to do better you know people say you want to see change be the change you want to see his message to caretakers and pet owners so even if it is for a few minutes you know the inconvenience of getting them in and out of the car is minor compared to what can happen to them pania says M told police she thought the child was taken out of the car before that seconds matter so you truly want to make sure that anytime that kids were around water that that they are supervised you really want to make sure that the pool area has a gate around it a cover and never turn your back to those kids keep an eye on your kids this summer when they're out playing near any source of water in 2022 10-year-old Gavin Keeny was held a hero after saving his mom's life when she had a seizure in the Family Pool he lifted his mom's face out of the water then he clung to the ladder while supporting her head to keep her from drowning his grandfather realized what was proud of him proud isn't even enough of work for it in 2020 this three-year-old girl was faced down after going in the water at a grandparents house oh my God oh my God she appeared lifeless and her face was blue no as her frantic grandmother watched Pensacola Police desperately tried to save the girl they prep prepared a defibrillator as seconds ticked by then good news she's she's moving tell initially my my thought was she was already gone according to the grandparents SLE in Total Recovery there she's no worse forwar oh my God oh my God in 2022 artistic swimmer Anita Alvarez was rescued by her coach after passing out underwater she was taking part in the world championships when she suddenly lost Consciousness her coach Andrea Fontes realized what was happening in dovein fully clothed she grasped Anita under her arms and swam her to the surface Anita was pulled out of the water and given medical attention while worried teammates watched in tears after the ordeal her coach said Anita was okay in 2018 this dog named Remis helped his buddy Smokey after he fell into a pool in Arizona and couldn't get out Remis paced back and forth as smokey got more distressed then RIS jumped nudged his friend with his snout and helped to boost him out of the pool in June of 2023 firefighters responded to a Florida home for a horse rescue the homeowner said the horse was so spooked by another horse it jumped into her backyard pool to escape firefighters kept the horse calm until assistants arrived from the fire department's Special Operations team they hopped into the pool and secured a hoisting harness around the horse then a crane lifted the horse from the water afterward the horse was in good condition keep your eye on this this car it's drifting across a busy intersection into oncoming traffic the woman sprinting to help knows the driver they work together she realizes something is seriously wrong it's a medical emergency the woman behind the wheel is slumped over the steering wheel but the brave friend Can't Stop The Runaway car alone you can see her waving frantically that's when perfect strangers come together first one then two 2 3 4 a fifth all hop out of their vehicles to lend a hand together they stop the car then they try to open the doors to reach the unconscious driver a woman finds a dumbbell in her car and gives it to one of the guys and he uses it to smash a rear window and open the door 911 calls start coming in we have an elderly woman that is unconscious at the wheel is she breathing yes she is there's a car I think there's an incapacitated driver they're trying to break into the car the drama unfolded in Bon Beach Florida the driver Lori rayor a seamstress says she took medication on an empty stomach and became dehydrated that must be when I passed out because I hit a curb and then the car turned that's when it went into traffic I don't even remember leaving work with her is Janette Rivera the brave coworker who ran after the runaway car that must have been very scary he's my hero another of the heroes us staff sergeant Juan Chavez that's him running through traffic honestly I just I saw somebody that needed help and I just rushed to it uh I didn't really think too much of it I didn't really think too much about my safety at that point now Boon Beach police are appealing for all those Good Samaritans to come forward to meet a very grateful lady thank you thank you thank you I I I I don't even know how to to thank you thank God for people like you these babysitters and nannies went above and beyond for the children in their care in 2017 this nanny was a hero when she whisked the little boy to safety after a burglar broke into his home it was just sheer Panic Jenna Baker and the three-year-old boy were running errands when a burglar smashed in here he is on the family security cameras making his way to the kitchen he finds the nanny's purse and dumps it out then he prows through the rest of the house hunting for valuables that's my wife's purse he's got in his hand to have him going into my kids' rooms and see just walking in it's the most scary for me and it got a wanted to see if she could be matched testing showed she was he offered to donate part of her liver to Talia and the surgery was a success talia's family says after afterward Kirsten was not just a sitter but family in 2017 15-year-old Keegan carahan convinced the little girl she watched that she was a real mermaid 3-year-old Al had been dressing up in costumes to cope after her father died so Keegan decided to be part of her world one day she showed up wearing a mermaid costume and alady was in awe it didn't hurt that Keegan had pink hair making her look like Ariel from The Little [Music] spoke with Haley and her sister Riley all I remember is waking up in the ambulance and being very confused surveillance video from across the street shows clover in distress trying to wake her then something remarkable happens one car Zips by and it seems to give Clover an idea she runs into the middle of the Street as if to say stop in the name of the dog sure enough the oncoming vehicle comes to a halt the driver jumps out and goes over to help it was really impressive the dog Clover actually uh blocked my way uh she kind of backed into the road to block the truck she's very loyal and Leon alol car was inside the car when it was stolen the mom was running an errand inside a store officer Chris poso found her and quickly brought her inside his Cruiser to warm up she was reunited my Spotlight and I saw a ball of purple hole in the middle of a parking lot and thought that weird and I drove into the parking lot and I immediately could tell it was a kiddo it was an emotional day take all of them please send someone quickly I'm going to the house again Abigail cilia for five agonizing hours there was no trace of them police and volunteers scoured the woods and Artemis never left their side from what the girls tell us they snuggled up with him to to kind of stay in one spot and get warm then good news we heard over the walkie-talkies that that they found them and I I collapsed cops brought the little girls home and the family was reunited I miss you the sisters wandered over over a mile from their house Artemis had a starring role in the rescue he started barking when he heard the Searchers making it much easier to find them he wasn't leaving their side 911 with your emergency my 3-year-old daughter went missing out of our front yard in 2018 this mom called 911 after her daughter wandered into a massive cornfield my heart was definitely racing her daughter Remy was always on the go and never far behind was their Yorkie named Pete he'll sleep beside her and if she goes outside he goes with her Timberlin left Remy on the swing set for just a minute when she came back her daughter and the dog were gone and we can't find her anywhere I'm going to get a deputy out there right now okay and I was walking through like this and we were hauling for Ramy H Remy over 100 people joined in on the search and combed through the 8T High cornstalks there's all kinds of wild animals we hear coyotes all the time out here I thought she was going to be scared cuz it was dark so and she was all alone I didn't know if she knew we were coming for her I didn't know what she was thinking the next day after 12 long hours Rescuers came across an amazing sight Remy was fast asleep and the pup was right by her side and she told us he stayed all night with her out there that little dog Heath is definitely a hero my backyard neighbor's house is on fire the whole back of the house is engulfed in 2016 two small children were rescued from inside a Florida home we have the fire on the way one neighbor called 911 another neighbor broke the front window to help the dad Escape Firefighters Credit the family dog Max a German Shepherd for helping them through the heavy smoke to save the two kids after the ordeal Max was treated at the vet and held a hero okay sit Rex sit sit relax good boy Papa in 2018 Rex was on the men and lucky to be alive the German Shepherd was shot several times protecting his owner Rex and Javier were home alone when someone allegedly broke in Javier heard someone bang on the glass door of the house and heard it shatter while he hid in the closet in called 911 Rex ran to confront The Intruders Javier said he heard gunshots and Rex crying when police arrived The Intruders were gone and Rex was rushed to the hospital here's Rex the dog recovered at a local vet after going well beyond his duties as man's best friend this family keeps an air horn by their back door and for good reason when a coyote attacked their chihuahua named Chico that air horn may have saved the little dog's life first came desperate barking then this frightening sight a coyote chasing a Chihuahua in the backyard and chomping down on the poor little guy the coyote makes a getaway with the family pet still in its jaws outside they took Chico oh my God the homeowners fr ically search their backyard I actually saw our little Chico in the Coyote's mouth Carrie and Larry Ruiz were terrified I witnessed what was the most horrifying experience in my nightmare coming true horrified by watching the life and death struggle of their beloved pet Carrie sprang into action she grabbed a secret weapon this air horn and gave it a blast oh my God she showed me that life-saving Weapon It's Extremely Loud they keep air horns all over their home just in case I know exactly where it is it's right by every single exit we have to the house every entry to the house uh just in case we go out and we see a coyote and here's little Chico today the coyote dropped the pet as soon as he heard the air horn we call him our Miracle dog Chico suffered a broken rib and scratches but he's lucky to be alive from now on Chico's owners say they will never leave their dogs unattended he's a good boy they Chico a 12-year-old and his therapist are swimming in the Family Pool the therapist is seeing how long he can hold his breath underwater pretty quickly young Austin McMillan realizes something is wrong to see him go under the water and somehow get a hold of me and swim me to the shallow end and up on the stairs it was it's like incredible I I got chills somehow the youngster pulled Jason pette to the shallow end of the pool he makes sure Pet's head is out of the water he dragged my full dead B like dead weight which and I'm I'm almost double his size then he runs out looking for help in his Florida neighborhood help Austin begs Jason to wake up [Applause] Jason Austin returns to the pool and starts giving CPR get this he learned the life-saving technique by watching this episode of stranger things now go when he couldn't get any help he just like started hitting my chest and then he started using both of his hands and that's when water started coming out of my lungs and I started to be able to breathe Austin when Austin's father gets home he realizes something is wrong but Austin has already saved the day he's braver than he gives himself credit for he's more capable than he gives him self credit for so he should he should be very proud of himself Jason has worked as Austin's behavioral therapist for 3 years he's not sure what caused him to pass out but he is certain his young Friend Austin saved his life he's going to be carrying the that with him for the rest of his life that he's a hero now a scary moment for a German Shepherd choking on a ball his humans got him to the vet where they were able to get the ball out it's not using the heck maneuver but the goal's pretty much the same it's a heart stopping
