so as I'm sure you already know there are some vegetables that make your gut happy and some that may not so today I'm going to go with some safe vegetables where if you are having some gut issues these are going to hopefully still keep your gut happy and soothe them a little bit too I've also included some superfoods that have prebiotics or probiotics or gut stimulating gut loving ingredients okay so the first thing I want to go through is the veggies I'm using cuz I think that's important sometimes cruciferous vegetables which are like broccoli cauliflower kale basically the vegetables your home and go get yourself joyful now [Music] yay so we're going to make a cilantro basiy rice I love adding in herbs and spices wherever I can it makes it so much more fun so all you do is blend up your cilantro and water together and then you add it into your vermicular or your rice pop next up let's prepare the veggies while the rice is cooking I'm going to start off with the sweet potatoes they are gentle on the gut and easy to digest I used a simple spice blend of cumin and coriander and a little bit of salt both of these spices are gut loving and they help with digestion I love trying different ways of cooking veggies to keep it exciting and I'm roasting the sweet potatoes but I'm going to be steaming the fennel and the asparagus Tempe is going to be our protein of choice for this bowl Tempe is fermented and it feeds our healthy gut bacteria for this bowl I just chopped it up coated with the same spices as a sweet potato and I lightly pan fried them vermicular officially makes the fluffiest rice look how separate it is it's so great because you can do everything from make your rice to steam your veggies all in one part which means you have less to wash up it's time to steam the veggies don't forget little sprinkle of the spices too I love making them in vermicular because of its Precision seal it retains moisture and nutrients and intensifies the flavors of the spices too veggies have never tasted so good I honestly cannot eat anything without a good sauce sauces literally make everything so much better I love a rich tahini sauce tahini is rich in calcium it's creamy and I made it zesty with some turmeric black pepper and some lemon all of these ingredients are great for your digestion and for reducing inflammation in your gut time to assemble your bowl look at the rice look at all the vibrant colors our gut microbiome needs variety to stay healthy eating the rainbow is definitely the secret to a healthy [Music] gut there is something so satisfying about a simple bowl of veggies and Grains it's just just so beautiful and you know vegetables really tell you what nutrients they have by their colors usually the same colored vegetables and fruits actually have a similar nutrient value or they do the same thing for your body and so having a well balanced meal also means having different colored veggies and just different colors on your plate it really is a good way of telling whether you're getting a variety of different nutrients in your diet so I'm so excited to try this and we've made sure that there's a balance of all different types of food groups too so we've got our carbohydrates we've got our protein we've got our good healthy fats too and so a lot of satisfaction in our meals actually comes from having a balance of all of those
