Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim run, one day!

[Music] why hello we were smuggling we're in a what is this the visitor center Grand Canyon visitor center parking lot and [Music] snuggled up in the back of the car Oh wish us luck sleeping in the back here hopefully we don't freeze I know Brian's not gonna free she's got like 13 blankets other than 12 layers and I'll start the car all right good night so it took us a long time to get ready in the car so we're about 15 20 minutes later and we wanted to be and it's already starting to get light so there's trees in the way here I don't think the turn off the GoPro pick up the beginning of the sunrise out there but we've got about another mile and a half to go on this paved trail trail the rim trail over to the Kaibab trail and then we'll start heading down and it might be we might not even need our headlights at that please yeah hopefully we beat them that was our planets to beat them so hopefully I'll see all right we better run here's our first [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] it exactly what we are trying to avoid and got behind the mules [Music] [Applause] [Music] the miles go [Music] and Phantom Ranch are trying to find the water smokey there's an emergency phone and we uh we just filled up with water leave them Phantom Ranch now start heading would you say seven or eight miles with about a thousand feet gain so kind of flattish a little bit of a climb and then we'll start doing the steep climb up the whoo oh I forgot to take my long-sleeve shirt [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay since you can hear for just a second without the stream we're running about almost 14 miles running along the stream it's really loud [Music] let's do it so we made it to cutting wood campground right Cottonwood and we're about 18 miles pretty spot to be a fun spot to camp and the waters turned off unfortunately so we're gonna have to go filter [Music] you [Music] we just made it to the top just leaving the top of the North Rim we're not real sure on our mileage my watch I accidentally stopped for a little bit so it shows 24 so it's almost 25 and Brian shows what 28 twenty-seven is uh yeah so his got a little funky wants to so we're not real sure anyway it's a little bit treacherous tried to run on this [Music] that feels so good [Music] xxx smiles here so heading down the North Rim guess some waterfall [Music] no shower this time this little mist we're probably a mile away from manzanita and we're running rape s Roaring Springs right now [ __ ] over here so with the GoPro it's probably not gonna look that impressive but it is pretty awesome all that water's coming out of a hole in the rock up there very cool we have made it back to Cottonwood campground there's the water spigot but it don't work [Music] so this is the Bright Angel bridge I guess so the other bridge trekking see with the GoPro but quarter of mile down there gotta go a long ways up now so we are the right Angel lodge we got about what two miles to run to our car but it's a loft off to our tracker we so about the last 45 minutes we had to rescue a guy from India saved his life I think we did he his the flashlight ran out he was extreme he was dehydrated give him some water and his cell phone was dying and it doesn't work because he's from India I had to get him up there and get him into the lodge to call a taxi is hotels down in the town about 10 miles from here so I'm glad we were there to help him [Music]
