turn with me if you would to the book of luke chapter 11. we're going to read verses 1 through 4 so just follow along with me as i read this passage of scripture it says and it came to pass that as he was praying in a certain place when he ceased one of his disciples said unto him lord teach us to pray as john also taught his disciples and he said unto them when you pray say our father which art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom the power and the glory forever and ever amen now how many of you learned the lord's prayer in school just raise your hand if you did all right you're showing your age you know why i say that i'm saying that because the supreme court declared school sponsor prayer to be unconstitutional not once but twice the first time was in 1962 in inglev vitale and the second time was in 1963 in abington school district v shemp but i can remember standing at assemblies in junior high saying the pledge of allegiance and reciting the lord's prayer and that was in 1972 to 1974-75 now the reason i'm saying 74-75 is because you start the school year in one year and then you finish it in the next year right yeah if you graduated in 1978 you started your senior year in 1977 but i can remember in seventh grade eighth grade in ninth grade going to the school assemblies and we would start with the pledge of allegiance and then we would recite the lord's prayer so even though the supreme court declared it unconstitutional we were still reciting the lord's prayer all the way up to 1975 here in tahlequah now i can't remember if we did it in high school in fact i asked my wife she's two years younger than me said do you ever remember doing that in high school i can't remember in high school doing that so i think sometime around 1975 we stopped reciting the lord's prayer in high school but my point is this the majority of us who are a little bit older we learned the lord's prayer in school and because it was taught in school even if you didn't attend church growing up you learned the lord's prayer but in all probability the people who did that who weren't raised in church but learned the lord's prayer never really thought much about it i know i didn't and i grew up in church so this morning what i'm going to do is i'm going to start a series on the lord's prayer and i'm going to use it in the very same way that jesus did i'm going to use it to teach you how to pray but before i do that i want to explain why we need to pray you see most people believe that prayer doesn't do any good and when i say most people i mean i'm including christians most christians believe that prayer doesn't do any good and if you believe that you're not going to put much effort into praying so why would i want to teach you how to pray if you're not actually going to apply it so the first thing that i want to do is i want to convince you that prayer makes a difference and then i'm going to teach you how to pray but first things first so why don't people or most people believe in the power of prayer well to be honest with you i think it's because most people have a fatalistic view on life they believe that god's going to do what god's going to do and all the prayer in the world isn't going to change that now where in the world did most people get that idea well believe it or not they got it from their pastor they got it from their sunday school teacher yeah this fatalistic view on life has been ingrained within the majority of us by what we've been taught in church you see most of us have been taught that god is sovereign and that nothing happens that isn't a part of god's plan it's that old calvinistic teaching that everything that happens is god's will if you lose your job it's god's will we don't understand why but we just have to trust him we have to believe that it's all a part of god's plan if your child dies in a car wreck let me say this nothing would be worse than losing a child that's the worst thing that can happen to you but you know even today if your child dies in a car wreck then people will tell you well that's god's will we don't understand why but we just have to trust him we have to believe that's all a part of god's plan so over the years this fatalistic view on life has been ingrained within us that whatever happens is god's will and we might not understand why but somehow it's a part of god's plan and he's going to use it for his glory and for our overall good now if a person believes that then why in the world would they believe in prayer because god's going to do what god's going to do and all the prayer in the world is not going to change that so what good is prayer i guess the only benefit in prayer would be that it allows us to develop a closer more intimate relationship with god so that's a positive thing but it really doesn't change anything right yeah now let me ask you how many of you believe that how many of you think that way how many of you have been taught that don't want to raise your hand do you well i'll be honest with you most of you think that way you think that god's going to do what god's going to do and all the prayer in the world's not going to change anything and the reason that you believe that even if you don't realize you believe that it's because it's been ingrained within you so even in a subcut or at a subconscious level you believe that you believe that all the prayer in the world is not going to change what's going to happen because it's been ingrained within you but what if i was to tell you that everything that you've been taught on this matter is wrong what if i was to tell you that the fundamental assumptions that you hold on this subject all of those assumptions are wrong would it change your perception of prayer maybe maybe it would maybe it wouldn't i would hope that it would but i'm not even sure that it would because it's been so ingrained within you but i'm going to believe that it can be changed so i'm going to address some of the things that we've been taught that are wrong and we're going to start with the sovereignty of god if you're taking notes i want you to write this down the truth is god is sovereign let me say that again god is sovereign now let me explain what that means from a biblical perspective first of all it means that god owns everything god owns all of the gold he owns all of the silver he owns everything believe it or not you're just using it right now but it's not yours it's gods because god created everything secondly it means that god has absolute authority in other words he has the right to impose his will on all of his creatures in all of his creation and we know if we have a right biblical view that god has created everything that exists the only thing that has not been created is god himself because god is eternal god has always existed but god has absolute authority and last but not least it means that god is in control of everything in other words god is the master of the universe so when we talk about the sovereignty of god we're talking about these three things number one ownership god owns everything number two authority god has absolute authority and number three control god's in total control now calvinists have taken the concept to god's sovereignty and they've drawn the wrong conclusion because they didn't balance it with the doctrine of free will they didn't take into account that god in his sovereignty has given man a free will and as a result they came to the wrong conclusion calvinists believe that nothing happens that isn't god's will let me say that again calvinists believe that nothing happens that isn't god's will in fact let me say it in a positive way calvinists believe that everything that happens is god's will we might not understand why god did something but it's part of his plan and he's going to use it for his glory and he's going to use it for our overall good but everything that happens is god's will the five police officers in dallas that were shot assassinated murdered was god's will we don't understand why but god's going to use it for his glory and for his overall or for our overall goodness the people that's where we get this fatalistic view on life in fact let me quote edwin palmer from his book the five points of calvinism edward palmer is dead now but he wrote what is considered by calvinist to be one of the best books on calvinism so let me quote from his books of his book if you don't mind here goes nothing in this world happens by chance nothing god is in back of everything in other words he's the cause he decides and causes all things to happen that do happen the moving of a finger that's not random that's god's will the beating of a heart god determines if your heart beats or if it doesn't beat and you go to meet him or you go somewhere else the laughter of a girl that's not spontaneous that's god's will the mistake of a typist even sin did you see that look at that that's going right out of his book so now god is getting blamed for all of the sin in this world and people it happens every day go to a funeral in which a child has died and listen to the pastor when he gets up to speak and he starts on his eulogy a eulogy simply is is a word that's actually taken from greek did you know that it's the greek word you which means good and logos which means to speak or logey oh actually to speak and so basically you get up and you speak good things at a funeral so we call it a eulogy but listen to when the pastor gets up to speak in his eulogy he'll usually say something like this we don't know why god chose to take them from this earth maybe it's because god needed another angel in heaven oh i got news for you when you die you're not going to transform into an angelic being you will never be a huge an angelic being you are a human being when you die your soul is immortal if you're a christian it will go to heaven on the rapture on the day of the rapture your soul is going to be resurrected reunited with your body but you will still be a human being with a glorified body a resurrected body and one day you're coming back to this physical earth to reign with jesus for a thousand years that's not even biblical but we hear pastors say that like it makes us feel better but the main thing is they're saying that god took that baby god took that child the reason they're dead is because of god but people that's not true if you want the truth you have to take into account that god in his sovereignty has given man a free will in fact if you're taking notes i put that on the screen and i want you to write that down you have to take into account that god in his sovereignty has given man a free will which means that man has the ability to make his own decisions and those decisions affect every aspect of his life as an example if you decide to climb up on the roof of this church and jump off you're probably going to break your leg maybe break an ankle you might even break your neck but i want you to understand something that's not god's fault you chose to do that so don't blame god god didn't make you do that that was a stupid decision when someone double dared you people you have a free will and the decisions you make have repercussions so stop blaming god for the stupid decisions you make in fact look at proverbs chapter 19 verse number three this is my favorite verse and the reason it is is because i use it all the time you wouldn't believe the number of people who are mad at god but this describes why notice what it says people ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then they're angry at the lord yeah i have people come in all the time and they're angry at god because they have a bad marriage and i look at them say i know your family your mama told you not to marry him because he's an idiot your dad told you not to marry him said he was worthless but you decided to do it you made the choice to disobey your parents you made the choice to date that person who was a reprobate and now you're upset with god well i don't know why god can't fix my marriage let me just explain something to you god does not fix marriages god is not in the business of fixing marriages god fixes people see marriage is just a term we have for two people who have come together and they've entered into a covenant relationship that's based on the bible but god's not fixing that thing called marriage he's going to fix the people in the marriage if you want your marriage to change then you've got to allow god to change you and so does your spouse but i want you to understand something when we're in jobs that we hate we're mad at god it's usually because we took the easy way out we didn't finish that degree in college in fact we changed and we changed our majors and we went to something that was easier and now that we're in a job that we don't like we're upset with god let me read a verse for you if you don't mind people run their lives by their own foolishness and then they're angry with the lord so let me just say in a different way let me make this personal you've ruined your life by your own foolishness and now you want to blame god i don't think so you need to quit blaming god for the stupid things that you do you know i've had a great life i've had a very blessed life and for the majority of my life i've served god but even in my desire to serve god i've still done some stupid things and those stupid things had repercussions and i would go to god in prayer and say oh god look at what's happened here god why did you and he said wait a minute whoa whoa did you have peace when you made that decision well no did you make it anyway yes did you come to me and pray about it well no and now you're blaming me wait a minute alan the reason you're doing that the reason that's happened to you is because of the stupid decisions you've made see calvinists want to tell us and they've ingrained within us that everything that happens is god's will so when we make these stupid decisions we don't want to blame ourselves who do we want to blame we want to blame god now besides free will god has given to every man what theologians refer to as limited sovereignty turn to genesis chapter 1 verses 27 through 28 and i'll explain what i'm talking about notice what it says so god created man in his own image and the image of god created him he him now can i just stop right there this is not part of my sermon but i really need to teach this you see we're made in the image of god now let me tell you what most people think that means most of us think that we're made in the image of god god has two arms he has two legs he has two feet he has five toes on each feet he has four fingers and one thumb on each hand and he has a head with a neck we're made in the image of god and that's why we look the way we look in fact he goes a little bit further and says that if man murders another man his life is to be taken because man is made in the image of god and we think it means that oh we killed someone who looks like god well if that were true then we couldn't kill chimpanzees or guerrillas because they have two legs two arms two hands two feet no that's not what that means when the bible says that we're made in the image of god what it means is that we have the ability to reason we have the ability to know the difference between right and wrong the reason it's wrong to kill someone is because you're made in the image of god and you know better i don't care if you've ever been raised in church or you've not been raised in church you know better because you were made in the image of god so let's go further let's keep reading i'm sorry i didn't mean to get off on that i just get a little ticked at people from time to time so god created man in his own image in the image of god created he him male and female created he them and god blessed them and god said unto them be fruitful and multiply some of us enjoy that more than others and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth so in essence god placed adam in a position of stewardship and he gave him dominion over the earth and he told him to subdue it he was supposed to rule the world as god would implementing god's will upon the earth that's what the word dominion means it means to rule and as man rules he's supposed to subdue the earth now the word subdue is translated from the hebrew word kabash and it means to master or to take control of now this in and of itself is what theologians refer to as limited sovereignty in other words take a notice to take a look at this chart up here in other words where god owns everything he's made man a steward over the earth and where god has absolute authority he's delegated authority over the earth to man because that's what dominion means it means to rule because you have authority and where god is in complete control over all of creation man has limited control over the earth because that's what's to do means it means to master or to take control of and this worked great up until the time adam sinned and then everything changed because once adam sinned he became a sinful creature who was in rebellion to god and yet he still retained his position as a steward and he still had dominion over the earth and he was still supposed to subdue it or control it now if i'd been god when adam sinned i would have fired adam on the spot i would have removed him as a steward i would have taken away his authority and you can bet i would have not i would not have left him in control of anything but god didn't do that when adam sinned god did not remove him as a steward he didn't take away his dominion and he didn't take away his right to subdue the earth now i want you to think about the implications of that now you have this sinful creature running around procreating who's in rebellion to god in other words he's creating more little creatures who are sinful in nature and who are in rebellion to god and adam and his children that means us every one of us doesn't matter whether you're black doesn't matter whether you're white red yellow green i don't understand racism we all come from adam and eve you either believe the bible or you don't but i want you to understand something once adam sinned he started procreating and creating other creatures who were in rebellion to god with this sin nature and then he and his children started started doing what they wanted rather than what god wanted but here's what's interesting they still have dominion and they still have the power to subdue the earth in other words to master to try and control it and people that is not a good combination so can you see the dilemma this presents how in the world is god supposed to work in an environment like that how does god implement his will in a world under the dominion of a rebel to whom he is given a free will does god force his will upon us no because that would violate our free will and that would usurp the authority that he's delegated to us our dominion and that would take away our control our right to subdue the earth so how does god implement his will in the sinful world well the answer is prayer because prayer allows god to implement his will without violating our free will you see whenever we pray we give god the right to implement his will upon the earth in fact i love the way b.j will height explains this in his book why pray in fact i love this book so much that if it was still in print it's no longer in print i would buy 500 copies i would put it in our bookstore and i would make you feel so guilty until you bought it and read it that we would sell out every one if you ever get a chance to buy this book it's not a big book you can read it in one evening it's about 160 170 pages you can sit down and read it but it is a wonderful book but listen to what he says because it's so true it says when implemented properly prayer permits god to exercise his sovereignty in a world under the dominion of a rebel with a free will in a universe that's governed by natural laws you know what's interesting we make certain things work in our favor because we understand certain laws bernoulli's law that's the reason those airplanes can get up in the sky and fly how many of you ever sat on a big airplane you know i've i've flown to turkey and greece two times i've gone to egypt i've gone to israel jordan israel several times it's always amazing to me when you get in these huge airplanes and we're going to lift up in the sky and we're going to fly and someone says how can you do that bernoulli's law yeah these natural laws but here's what he says when implemented properly prayer permits god to exercise his sovereignty in a world under the dominion of a rebel with a free will and a universe governed by natural law there are those among the rebels who have chosen of their own free will to obey god they want his will to be done more than their own so they pray thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven and as they pray that prayer they set up the conditions under which god can legally impose his will in a given situation let me read that again as they pray that prayer they set up the conditions under which god can legally impose his will in a given situation now once you understand this concept it answers so many questions as an example in matthew chapter 9 verses 36-38 jesus said to pray that the lord of the harvest would send forth laborers now why would we need to pray for something that is so obviously god's will well i'll tell you why it's because god cannot legally implement his will until we ask him to in fact that is so important let me repeat that you need to hear that again god cannot legally implement his will until we ask him to if he did he would be violating our free will and the authority that he's given to us over the earth you see if god was to bypass man in implementing his will upon the earth then man would no longer be a steward over the earth nor be the one in authority and he definitely wouldn't be in control but the scriptures clearly show that god has chosen not to bypass man but to honor what he delegated to him and to work through him so how does god exercise his sovereignty upon the earth in our lives without usurping the authority that he's delegated to us the answer people is prayer listen to me when a man wants god's will to be done more than his own and he prays that god's will be done on earth as it is in heaven then god can legally implement his will on this earth without superseding the dominion that he's given to man and that's how god allows man to stay in this position of a steward to be given this this authority to rule and also to exercise control or to try and master the earth even though he's a rebel god set this up to work this way when adam sinned he did not remove him as a steward he did not take away his authority to death or he did not take away his delegated authority and he did not take away his right to subdue the earth but that creates a problem how's god going to work in this it's through prayer so people don't blame god for all the evil things that happen on this earth i don't know why but it just really irritates me when we want to blame god for all the evil things that happen i get upset with my insurance people you know they'll cover everything except acts of god that irritates me because we want to blame god for everything bad that happens people those evil things are the result of sin if adam had never sinned you wouldn't have those tornadoes you wouldn't have those earthquakes you wouldn't have typhoons you wouldn't have hurricanes you wouldn't have murders you wouldn't have rapes you wouldn't have domestic abuse you wouldn't have child abuse you wouldn't have human slavery you wouldn't have all of these things that we see but let me tell you something we could stop so many of these things from happening if we would only pray people prayer is probably the most important thing that a person person can do but here's what's sad the majority of christians rarely pray but what's even sadder is the majority of pastors rarely pray because they've been taught so much of this calvinistic crap that they think well it really doesn't do any good let me tell you something god does nothing in this world except through prayer and the people who know how to pray they see mighty things happen i can't tell you the number of miracles that i've seen not only in my life and in my family's life but in this church because people know how to pray there's no term and it's a tribute to pentecostals and it's good because pentecostals still do it but there was a time when it happened in all denominations called praying through it used to be a time when people would pray through they'd get down and they'd start praying until they realized they just knew in their soul their spirit it's done they had prayed through you know i get up every morning and i pray and then i come to church and if i don't feel like i prayed through i walk right out of here on this stage and i pray until i pray through and i've seen god do so many mighty things i've said this before i'm not the best speaker i'm not the best leader but god has done so many mighty things through me but i can tell you why it's because i believe in the power of prayer but why do most people not pray especially christians why do so many pastors not pray well it all goes back to this erroneous belief that god's going to do what god's going to do and all the prayer in the world isn't going to change that people that's not true if we want god's will to be done on this earth then we have to pray for it to be done and only then can god legally implement his will without superseding the dominion that he's given to man now let me say this and i've i've gotten a lot of emails where people get upset with me because they think i'm being divisive but i'm not you just need to walk in my shoes for a while you you need to deal with the people who've lost a child who's had a spouse have an affair and leave them and leave their children and not support their children you need to be there when i go to counsel someone who maybe has been diagnosed with cancer or any of these other things be with me let me just say this calvinism is a very very dangerous theology it's dangerous most of us don't even know what calvinism is but it's been ingrained within us without us even realizing it in fact if you want to know what the doctrines of calvinism is you need to use the acrostic tulip it's not an acronym i hear people say that all the time calvinists will say that well it's the acronym it's not an acronym it's an acrostic there's a difference between an acronym and acrostic at least get that right let's see acrostic tulip t stands for total deprivity and even that's redundant if you know what deprevity is you don't need the word total but i'll be honest with you what they're trying to say and what they're trying to emphasize is total inability and what a calvinist teaches is that man is so depraved that he has the inability to accept jesus christ as lord and savior oh they'll say that man has a free will but here's what they'll say man only has a free will to do what is to to do things in accordance with this nature and because his nature is sinful he only has a free will to either do evil or worse evil he doesn't have the ability to do good but that's not what the bible teaches but they teach that they teach that man has the inability to do that so then they come to the u which is in tulip you unconditional election in other words devil predestination god predestined certain people to have any predistance other people to hell and it's not based on foreknowledge even though god knows the future he doesn't base them on four knowledge god just decides because people are are unable to accept jesus christ he just decides well i want these two people to go to heaven and i want these three people to go to hell that's what unconditional election means he predestined some people to have any predecessors others to hell and if you've not been predestined to heaven then you're going to hell and there's not a thing you can do about it that's what calvinism teaches l is for limited atonement limited atonement means that jesus didn't die for everyone because the atonement of jesus christ is efficacious which simply means that it's going to produce the results that it was intended that's what efficacious means and so they say that jesus didn't die for everyone he only died for those who predestined to go to heaven because if he died for everyone then that would mean that everyone gets to go to heaven and we don't believe in universalism then they go to i which is irresistible grace it means if god has predestined you to go to heaven because you do not have the ability to receive jesus on your own you're totally depraved total inability to accept christ then god has to pour his grace upon you and you actually get saved before you can believe does that sound biblical to you no we're saved by grace through faith but they say no no you can't even have faith until you're saved so you actually get saved before you have faith and then p is for perseverance of the saints it's not the same thing as one saved always saved people equate them many times but if you understand the institutes of of christianity written by calvin and you understand jacob arminius his writings and you understand they're not the same thing but what it means is if you're truly predestined to go to heaven you can't do anything but persevere to the end so if you see someone who's who supposedly got saved and then they fall away and they start living in sin well they were never really saved that's tulip but let me tell you what that creates within people it creates within people this thing that you know well i don't really have to witness to anyone why because if god wants them to be saved they're going to be saved in fact true calvinistic churches that believe and by all into it don't even have altar calls that's man's method of trying to get people born again but this the the worst thing is all of those doctrines all of those five pillars are based on the sovereignty of god and they've so misconstrued they've so misunderstood what god's sovereignty means and how and balancing it with man's free will that they believe that everything that happens is god's will and that's why you've sat underneath pastors who have told you that everything that happens is god's will your daughter gets raped my heart goes out but you know i don't understand why and they won't go so far as to say because they're afraid you'll slap them they won't go so far say i don't know why that's god's will but they'll say i don't know why god allowed that now i know why god allowed that because god has delegated authority he's given man dominion placed him in the position of the steward told him to subdue the earth and he won't violate his free will so he only implements his will when we come in and we begin to pray his will in some of you need to start praying protection for your children every day i pray protection over my children when it comes to the point of the lord's prayer and i'm going to teach you how to pray as we go through it that is a outline it's a model it's not meant to be quoted you're not supposed to recite it but it is an outline for you to follow i talk about god lead us not to temptation to deliver us from evil i say god put a hedge protection of guardian arrangement angels around my children lord instruct those guardian angels as to where danger is and where danger will be god instruct them on how to manipulate the situations that they find themselves in the circumstances surrounding them even people in time so that they're never in the same place at the same time the danger is god hold them in your right hand and give them favor but hide them from wickedness god i thank you lord that you're protecting my children that you are a safeguard for them and you are a rock hide them in the cleft and i continue to pray until i pray through now i'm not saying that my children can't make stupid decisions and do certain things but i believe in the power of prayer i've seen god work miracles but you want to know why god many times doesn't work through us it's because we're not praying we have bought into this calvinistic attitude that god's going to do what god's going to do and all the prayer in the world is not going to change a thing that's not true let me close by reading two passages of scripture the first one is in james chapter 5 verses 16 through 18. most people are familiar with it i'm going to read it out of the nlt i'm familiar with it in the king james version i think it makes better sense in the king james version but my wife tells me it doesn't so here's the nlt confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed the earnest prayer of a righteous person i can't help it honey the fervent prayer of a righteous man how's that has great power and produces wonderful results elijah was as human as we are and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall none fell for three and a half years then when he prayed again the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops now look in second chronicles chapter 7 verse number 14. you know i was off of facebook for a long time and then when our kids went to false creek i wanted to watch the video so i got back on facebook because it's an election year i'll probably get off facebook again i don't know but anyways everyone wants to talk about our country but i'll tell you what's wrong with our country christians have forgotten to pray notice what this says if my people not sinners not reprobates not those who are lost if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then will i hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land now i want you to understand something whenever you study god's word you need to understand many times it's like an alger algebraic formula in order to get the right answers you have to follow the formula and use the rules of mathematics to do it we don't do that we do one part of the equation and we expect to get the right answer but many times there's more than one part in an equation and you've got to do all parts of the equation first of all he said if all my people who are called by my name will humble themselves you got to humble yourself you got to pray you got to seek god's face you've got to turn from your wicked ways then he makes this promise then will i hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land what's wrong with america what's wrong with america is the church we've forgotten how to pray and i shouldn't say we've forgotten how to prayer pray i should say we've been taught that god's gonna do what god's going to do and all the prayer in the world is not going to change that so prayer really doesn't make a difference why pray but yet there's a few people that realize that's not true god does some mighty miracles if you want to see those mighty miracles you need to become a person of prayer so i'm going to start a series i'm actually going to teach on the lord's prayer and i'm going to use it in the same way that jesus did i'm going to use it as a way to teach you how to pray now let me do this i want you to pull out your phone if you have your phone probably only pastor in town that tells his people to pull out their phone in church go to our app in our app there'll be a little thing that says more hit that more then there'll be a list of things in our app at the very bottom it should say prayer request or something similar to that when you hit that if you need a prayer request you've got five little things to check do you want everyone in the church who's on our prayer list that wants to pray do you want them to know about no do you just want the staff to know about it do you want and it has a little things for you to click and then you type in what you want to pray and it's sent to the church and we pray about that now let me say this that does not negate your responsibility to pray for your own situation you have to have us praying in accordance with you we're agreeing with you now if you want to be on our prayer list you want to be a person who prays as people send these prayer requests and you let us know we'll put you on that because we send the prayers out but let me just say this we've had people get on our prayer list and they get upset because we're sending them prayers all the time well honey that's what the list is about people need prayer i'm just going to be honest with you i was flabbergasted when i became a pastor and realized that all churches is a group of screwed up people coming together saying help me god but let me say this and i speak from experience prayer changes everything god still moves and i want you to know that
