[Music] [Music] hi everyone my name's Stephanie and welcome to our go fighting strategy series in this video I'm going to show you the five most interesting fighting situations in my students games so in go games we have pretty much we have a three stage opening making and inking so in the opening we take most important places so that we can develop our territory in the mid game so endgame is pretty much you just secure your all of your territory and before we start counting so in the making everything is about fight so how can we win a fight or how can we get ahead in a fighting situation and here he comes the reading skill so what is the reading skill reading skill is how many moves you are able to see or how many moves your you're able to predict another fighting situation so why don't we get started with thirty to twenty q question so this is the this is the game so now is black to play so both black and away are pretty much controlling the same amount of territory on the board White has two huge territory on the on the top on on the right and black has a small territory on the raid and some territory on the left so both players are actually fighting very serious on the bottom area here as you can see so what happened is black now is a little bit stronger than white group right here this black group is just around a little bit stronger than the white group right here so black played a Kasumi and trying blackens trying to enclose that's the entire group so if white pushes here and black it can honey on the top so it seems very hard for a weight to get out so what white was thinking is hey I have a center here so that I can get two stones and black needs to connect these four stones otherwise I can cut here and after these four stones are dead the two groups are connected already so I don't have to worry about the love and death anymore so black connects here and white jumped out so now we can see this variation it's much better than the previous one I just showed you but the question is both players didn't realize the life and death in the bottom area here is is actually it's not a life for white and so both players didn't didn't play anything until the game ends so both of them thought this is a life because if if black and wedges here white can connect and black connects no it's a band three but it's it's whites turn so I can to see this move and it killed its group by the way of course black is going to lead the whole board that's that's at least the 30 points but unfortunately both wears didn't see that move alright so now let's look at the next example now let's look at an example for 19 to 10 Q players alright so this is the this is the game and now which is positive few seconds free to analyze the whole board situation right now and I will be standing here I will make sure I'm not blocking the board is one of the common said sometimes I block the board so this time I will make sure you have enough space to have a one Liberty left so this becomes two all itself Atari that doesn't work either if I capture these two this stone and get one more Liberty but it's still not enough to fight against this group so how can we make this group alive then black needs to test ug so where is the tesuji is right here so this move is not only preventing white connecting from bottom but also is preventing white pulling these two stones out so if white pulls these two stones out then I can Atari here and make this group to a ladder so now I have a five spaces of five stones and I have a five spaces of course that's alive and then you probably will ask a question what if I block here and I'm looking for the connecting move here and Atari here to make you walk into a connect and die but the question is after I have that stone here I'm able to reduce one of White's liberties right here so now white only has 3 liberties compared with this situation I have a five so if white only has two liberties left and use the connecting moves on the bottom and then black is able to throw in and Atari on the top now you can see white actually is not able to save the three stones so I have one eye on the top and at the second eye on the bottom so this group is alive but unfortunately black didn't see this tissue this mr. gene moved to make this group of life so blackness decided to use actually move to block here and white is able to destroy all the potentials and territory on the upper right corner and eventually black lost this game so see the sensei is very important in the mid game so please do read some sequences when you're especially wearing a very serious fighting situation okay so now let's look at next example all right now let's look at the last a fighting example so this is the game is it complicated it is it looks it looks very complicated to me when I was first starting to looking at this game all right so why don't we analyze this game first so that we we know what's going on on the create a connection die for black so that this entire group is dead and then what is a lot so attachment move here doesn't work how about the peep here if white connects on the top black connects back and then there's no second die on the bottom but white can block after black a purchase here why can't use this sente and connect it on top and now it is a double life so double love is custody red though I can kill these two stones but it doesn't matter because lucky and just simply sacrifice these two stones and kill oops sorry there's no stone right here even though there's no stone here the score was still dead because the bottom line is still a full side so does it mean after the peep here the whole group is dead the answer is no white still have a good move to make the whole group to a coat which is attachment move here I will say or extending move here and black now needs to pull this don't back otherwise then this group is alive so I can use to pull the stone back and then now what is able to Atari here and make a coat if what blocka connects why can't block here that's a still coat but the reason why this is a winning move is because that's a picnic Oh or that's in other words that's a freak over for black that means black can use any two free moves to kill the group in the center so let's say even would just put the two stones right here and then kill this entire white group in the center and of course black is gonna win but if unfortunately in the actual game blocked it and see them of Atari on the bottom and the beep the first line so the final result is
