- Today's episode is
about to get animated. - Let's talk about that. (upbeat music) (fire crackling) Good Mythical Morning. - (claps) It has come to our attention that in our most-
(Link claps) animated moments on this show, we display very little control over what comes of our mouths, from strange noises to
unintelligible sentences to deep, guttural gags. - But you already knew that, but, and this is a second but, if we were to find a group of animators- - Huh. - To take those sounds and put them in wildly new, completely
animated scenarios, could we identify what
we were actually doing at the times we made those noises? Let's find out. - It's time for Reliving
Our Past in Vivid Animation. I hope they didn't use anything from our time on Online Nation. (chuckles) - Yeah, ever since we've given them that Online Nation footage- - Shouldn't have done that. - I just feel like it can
constantly be used against us. - Yeah. - We have scoured the internet
and approached animators, real people who turn drawings into life. - Yeah, turn drawings into life. - Yeah. Whose work we love, and we asked
them to take just the audio from some of the most animated
moments in GMM history and then let their imaginations
run wild with them. And now, we're about to see
them for the first time, and there's gonna be
five different animators with five unique styles
and see what they do with those audio clips. - But, of course, we're
gonna do this with a catch, 'cause we're gonna be
competing against each other to see who can figure out
what moment we are hearing from the show. Points escalate each round and whoever- - Whomever.
- Identifies the most moments from this vintage GMM
collection wins their very own vintage collection of something special. - Oh, and I bet you're
better at this game than us. Test your Mythicality. - I thought you were gonna
say me, but yeah, you. - No, I'm talking to you. - [Stevie] Okay, guys, the first animation was brought to you by someone you already are familiar with, Worthikids. Worthikids actually created an incredible, more traditional GMM
animation a few years back. Here's a little reminder of that clip. - I love a good Kettle chip. Ooh, something just happened. It just got hot.
- Oh- - It's back here.
- It's coming on real strong. - It's hitting the back of my throat, like a-
- Boy, it goes deep, doesn't it?
- It goes, it's all the way back there.
- Whoa. How did it get back there? How did you get back there, lady? (both laughing) - Yeah, that, it's always flattering to be animated in an unflattering way that's really funny.
- Yeah. We were sweating. I love all the sweat
drops, 'cause that didn't really happen when we were there. - So we got more. - [Stevie] We got more,
and in this newest work, you're definitely not at the GMM desk. Can you guess what you
guys were actually doing during the audio of this animation? - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. (Rhett groaning) Yeah! I can see an eye. (Rhett groaning) I can see an eye. (Rhett yelling)
(Link laughing) I see an eye.
- Oh! - [Link] Look, your arm is giving birth to a Rhett.
(crew laughs) - My right eye feels compromised. - You're like a baby that's
been in there too long. (Rhett groans)
Do it. Do it.
(Rhett groans) - (groans) I gotta take
my ear off. (groans) - Do it! Do it! Do it!
(both screaming) - Yeah, we're getting outta this joint! (both laughing) - Well, first of all, I mean- - Man, I love, wolfman. - I was just enjoying that. - Yeah, so you weren't
thinking about what might have been happening. - No, because I was just enjoying that. - I remember not
specifically, but in general what was happening, I'm
just trying to find- - It started with your
eye and then you grew out of your own arm? And then you said, let's
break outta this joint? - I'm gonna go, this is as good as I- - I love the crew members who are like, what are the jail people called? The people who work at a jail? - [Crew Member] Guards. - Guards.
(crew laughs) - I've got my guess. It is not specific enough
to be correct, most likely. - I'm guessing it has something to do with hot pepper eating, but that- - No, I was- - 'Cause you were, the energy was there. - I was trying to get out of some kind of, my face was coming through something, and my arm, I was trying to get through, like get out of a straitjacket or- (Stevie gasps) - [Stevie] Yeah, that was it. - Okay, yes, straitjacket. - [Stevie] It comes from season 9- - Do you remember getting out
of a straitjacket, though? - Oh, yeah.
- Okay, as long as- - Because remember, one of
us couldn't get out at all, and then I started, well, you know what? We're gonna see it.
- We're gonna see it, right? - [Stevie] Yep, you're
gonna see it right now. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. (Rhett groaning) Yeah! I can see an eye. (Rhett groaning) I can see an eye. (Rhett yelling)
(Link laughing) I see an eye.
- Oh! - Look, your arm is
giving birth to a Rhett. (crew laughs) - My right eye feels compromised. - You're like a baby that's
been in there too long. (Rhett groans)
Do it. Ah, this is great. - (groans) I gotta take
my ear off. (groans) - Do it! Do it! Do it!
(both screaming) - Yeah, we're getting outta this joint! (both laughing) You had just, apparently just given up. You were just sitting
there like, okay, maybe. - Well, you were putting
on quite a show, my friend. - Oh man. - I mean, turning into a werewolf, I mean, I kinda just wanna watched
animated versions from now on. As fun as what we did
was, I had a lot more fun- - We could just turn
this whole show into us just doing voices. - [Stevie] Or- - Check about this.
- Check about it. - [Stevie] You could go and check out Worthikids YouTube channel
at YouTube.com/worthikids for more animation.
- Yeah. - Worthikids, thanks, y'all. - [Stevie] Next up, we've got an animation from a very talented animator
named Gunnar McGriff. - Use your left hand. - I can't decipher with my left hand-
- Use your left hand. - Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh. Is it a baby? Oh my gosh. What in the world, in the crap is that? (crew laughs) What the crap? Why is it so aggressive? - Don't take it out, it's not aggressive. - [Rhett] Why is doing these things? (Link laughs) What is it doing? What is it doing? - [Link] Open your fingers. - (laughs) What? (crew laughs)
Oh. - So Santa, little Santa got sexy and he impregnated your hand. - He was so sexy, man. - With a-
- Those legs. - With a present? - Okay, I think I know this one. - I'm just, I'm just not
motivated to do anything besides enjoy the clip. - I can tell that you're
not able to think about. Yeah, you can't do both. You're just like enjoying it. - I love this animation. When it cut to me and I was
like, be gentle with it, or whatever I said. This, ah. - I think I remember this one. - I think I do, too, so you
wanna three, two, one it? Three, two, one it. I think it's kissing animals. - Well, I was specifically
touching a hairless cat that was in that box. - Oh, I thought it was the blindfolded. - It was when you reached into the box, and you tried to figure
out what you're doing, and I think it was the hairless cat. - [Stevie] Yeah, it was from season 19's "What's In My Suitcase?" And in Rhett's suitcase, there
was something interesting. Let's take a look. - Yes. Use your left hand.
- Open your fingers. Open your fingers. Don't take it out, it's not aggressive. - Yeah, I had an
advantage on that, though, 'cause I was there touching it. So I feel like that was stuck
in my memory a little bit. - Those are two intense Rhett clips there. - Yeah, I think I had the advantage here. Maybe we're gonna, we're
moving into Link territory. - And you are winning. - But points escalate. - [Stevie] Thanks to
Gunner, you can follow him on Instagram @Gunnar.McGriff
or visit his website, gunnarmcgriff.com. - I like that style, Gunnar McGriff. - Yeah, McGriff. - [Stevie] Our next animation is from the incredible Jonni Phillips. - [Group] You can do it, Serpent King. You can do it, Serpent King. - Get it all.
- You can do it, Serpent King.
- Don't leave any. - [Group] You can do it, Serpent King. - Make it clean.
(Link vomits) (crew laughs) What happened, man? - It's still in my lungs. - Well, you might die. But you should probably finish this before you do. - God, man. Oh man.
- So it's Serpent King. - But I was slurping something, well, no, I was inhaling something. - 'Cause I was gonna say,
this is when you were, when you became the Serpent King- - But it wasn't.
- Which is when you were in the cage with the
snake, where your head was, but-
- The heart rate monitor. - Because this after
that, after some point, where we were now referring
to as you the Serpent King. But no, you should have
the advantage on this, 'cause you can remember drinking it. I definitely don't know what you're- - (gasps) It's still in my lungs? (crew laughs) - I'm just taking a hint
from the animation here. - What'd you say? - I said, drinking blood. - Yeah, I said noodle tasting. I wrote taste, but I meant like- - Noodle taste.
- Some sort of noodle tasting. - Was it a noodle taste? - [Stevie] You're both incorrect, but I have a rhyming hint for you. - And this is just whoever gets the first at this point.
- Okay. - [Stevie] Sure, this
food is extremely smelly, but that's no reason not to
lick it off Rhett's belly. - Oh this is when-
- Did I lick something out of your belly? Oh, I slurped out of his belly button. - Yeah, we slurped out a
belly button, but what was it? It was... - Well, that was my answer. When I slurped something
out of Rhett's belly button. - Of course that's what it was, but what was the specific
thing that you slurped? - [Stevie] It said, sure,
this food is extremely smelly. - Oh, it was fish, it was caviar. - Was I here for this? (crew laughs) - [Stevie] No, no, you still
haven't quite gotten it. You're in the right ocean. Now I-
- I have no clue. - [Stevie] At this point, yeah, I don't think either one of
you can really get any points for this round.
(buzzer blaring) It was from season 14, in the third ever, "Extreme Would You Rather Challenge," in which Link had to slurp raw tuna out of Rhett's belly button. Take a look.
- God, man. - What made you gag? It was just my belly and tuna. - I think I sucked so hard that it went into my lungs, dude.
- Oh. - It's still there, to this day. - So you weren't disgusted
by my belly button. You just actually got
some tuna in your lungs. - It was the total package. - [Stevie] Make sure to
follow Jonni @jonniphillips. - Jonni, thanks for
bringing that memory back. I had totally suppressed it. I think it was something
else I suppressed. - Oh, look at that.
- I'm thinking of this. - You were hiding back there this whole time.
- Look at that. I got a backpack on! And it's a Mythical backpack. - It says Mythical all over it. Look at that, and it
says Mythical down here. I'm using my telestrater. - It's got a rubber, that
is a rubber Mythical patch. It's got cushioned shoulder straps, it's got a laptop sleeve inside. It holds everything you need
to be your Mythical best. You can get this thing
now at mythical.com. - How does it feel on your shoulders? You got support, you feel supported? - It feels nice. I'm gonna leave it on. - Leave it on. Why not? - [Stevie] Okay, up next, we
have some stop motion animation from the uber-talented Karla Mellett. - What is this?
(Rhett groans) It's tall.
- Oh, I can see it. - What is that?
- Oh, oh. - [Link] I cannot see it this close. - [Rhett] I'm not gonna look, either. - [Link] But it smells fishy. Oh! What? (Link screaming) - [Rhett] Are they
moving? Are they moving? (Link screaming) They're moving!
(Link screaming) I don't know what to do. - [Link] The things in
my mouth were moving. - [Rhett] I forgot how to hold my arms. - [Link] I don't know what this is, but. - [Rhett] What is in my mouth? - [Link] Did you swallow it? - I'm chewing 'em.
- Ah, I got 'em. - Wow, that, first of
all, that was really, I love, I'm just a stop
motion, you know, I'm just- - I just love it. You know?
- I'm just a sucker for stop motion.
- It's just a series of photos.
- It just takes me back to my childhood, and I just- - Take photos of things
with slight movements, and then, flip through it quickly. - Yes. I get lost in that. But what we were eating?
- We were both, so we were both eating
something and it was moving. Okay, all right. Ready? - I think we said the same thing. I said eating grubs. - I said eating live worms. - [Stevie] It... Partially correct. - I don't remember eating live worms. - I do remember one time,
eating something that moved. I've only eaten something
that moved once on this show and you've done it twice,
'cause you had that beetle that one time.
- Not proud of it. - Trying to forget about it. - [Stevie] I don't think my
rhyming hint's gonna help you, 'cause you got the part there. I will say, there was another
sense that was involved while you were eating the worms. - It was a smell tasting episode where we had those things
on, and we couldn't see 'em, because of the thing
that, the smell of it. What we call those things? - [Stevie] Yeah, the
Smell Tasting Experiment. - Visor.
- I'm gonna give it to you. It's season 9, it was the
second smell tasting experiment. And you had to smell mini
squid while eating worms. Take a look. - What is this?
(Rhett groans) It's tall.
- Oh, I can see it. - What is that?
- Oh, oh. - I cannot see it this close. - I'm not gonna look, either. - But it smells fishy. Oh! What? (Link screaming) - Are they moving? Are they moving? (Link screaming) They're moving!
(Link screaming) I don't know what to do. - The things in my mouth were moving. - I forgot how to hold my arms. - I don't know what this is, but. - What is in my mouth? - Did you swallow it? - I'm chewing 'em.
- Ah, I got 'em. - (laughs) You like turned to me. - Live wax worms. - (laughs) In a moment of pride. - I mean, I said eating,
I said worms and live. - Well, grubs, man. It's grubs, that's what that little- - It said it was called a wax worm. - The larvae is, but the technical term, and I said it was smell tasting. - [Stevie] I'm gonna let
you guys work this out. - You did say that. How many points does he get? - You just wanna say whoever
gets the last round wins the whole game? Would that make you feel better? - No, I just wanted at
least, can I have a point? - [Stevie] Yeah, you may have a point. - You should've taken my offer. - [Stevie] Make sure to
follow Karla @karlamellett or visit her website at
karlamellettanimations.com. - Karla, thank you. - [Stevie] And this final
clip comes from our friends at Fantoons, the same amazing people- - Cool.
- Who worked on the Mythical Coloring Book. Let's take a look. (Rhett hooting in fright)
(Link yelling) - [Link] Ooh, safari. - Muh!
- Ah! (both yelling) - You gotta bring your arms in. Bring your arms in!
- No! - Be a man!
- No! - Bring your arms in now!
(Link screams) Three, two, one. (liquid splashing) Put your arms in, Neal! (Link yells) No, no, taking my breath away. Ah! (both yelling)
My whole life is flashing before my eyes. (laughs) You came back with
just a couple of bones. - But then in the next
scene, I had my flesh hands. - 'Cause it's a cartoon. - Whoo, I'm so glad for that. - Like a cartoon, you could
just cut your hand off and grow it right back. - Killer ostrich safari. - I felt like this one's pretty obvious. - I know this one. Get your arms in, Neal, I
definitely remember that. (crew laughs) I was there for that. Three, two, one, it was- - Ice baths.
- The first ice bath. I don't know how many we've taken. - [Stevie] Yeah, you guys got this. Take a look. (Rhett hooting in fright)
(Link yelling) - Muh!
- You know the-
- Before my eyes. - The professional athletes
don't make that big of a deal when they get into
the ice baths after games. They just kinda just get into 'em. - Well-
- Can you imagine like LeBron James making
that big of a scene? - Yeah, but they've done so- (Rhett yelling dramatically) Professionals, though.
- It's really over the top. - [Stevie] Make sure to
check out fantoons on social and at fantoons.tv and
it looks like, Rhett, you are taking home the
vintage collection prize, which is conveniently, in Link's backpack, if you wanna take a look. - Oh, okay! Look at that. See, it carries prizes, too. - Oh, looky here, a vintage collection of, oh, I just opened up that record. Ooh, hey, but you know what, Link? The issue with this is-
- Barry Manilow, Live. - I don't have a record player, so I'm gonna put these right back into your backpack and you can
add them to your collection. - All right, all right.
- How 'bout that? - So I am the winner-
- Congratulations. - After all. - We wanna thank all the
animators who contributed to this episode, amazing work. Go check them out. We told you where to check
them out, but we're also gonna put that information
in the description. - Ooh, yes.
- They're doing a lot of good stuff, thanks for
making this episode what it was. - And thank you for subscribing
and clicking that bell. - You know what time it is. - Hi, I'm Kelsey. - And I'm Hailey. - [Both] And we're from
Colorado Springs, Colorado. And it's time to spin
the Wheel of Mythicality. - Hopefully, that's the
sidewalk and not the street. Be safe, kids. Click the link to hear all
about Link's new tattoo in "Good Mythical More."
- Oh yeah. - Look at that. You're gonna finally hear about it. - And to find out where the Wheel of Mythicality's gonna land. The Mythical backpack
holds everything you need to be your Mythical best. Get it now at mythical.com.
Todayβs More was very reminiscent of early GMM episodes and everything about it made it a lovely way to start the day. β¨
I canβt believe they didnβt remember the straitjacket bit. Didnβt they prank link by detaching one of the straps on rhettβs jacket to make it easier for him, but link was able to get out of the unaltered jacket anyways?
What an incredible episode, I loved all the animations, especially Worthikids! I only guessed the first and last ones, though.
And the More was so sweet, but also super funny. Definitely worth staying up until 3am π
How are GMM fan animations not way more common...
The effort that went into creating this episode is on another level, huge praise goes to the animation team.
The Santa animation had me with tears in my eyes. That was hilarious.
Is such a perfect episode, we get to see fun animations and a sweet story from link. I find it so heartwarming that he takes his daughter out for a date every Valentine's.
Both of todays episodes were so good and I am overwhelmed π the creativity of the main ep and being able to relive all of those old episodes was a treat and then finally hearing about and seeing Linkβs new tattoo.
Speaking of the tattoo I love that itβs in Elvish and the meaning behind it. β€οΈ also sounds as if Link is already down for a matching one with Rhett but Rhett may need a little more convincing LOL
The last animation reminded me of 90's Nickelodeon cartoons.
