GMC Swallowed By A CREVASSE!!

we go so we got a call for a Suburban that was swallowed by the Earth way out west of Hamlin Valley we're gonna head out there see if we can get it out got Tom here yeah beautiful morning it's a little cloudy today I think it's going to be a little cooler I'm guessing 72 where we're going any other guesses solid 75 . I'm gonna hope for 65 but I know it ain't gonna happen it's not going to matter it's going to be a nice day you got Jake back there Colby they're going to be helping out we got the wrecker back there we got the banana we're meeting a customer we're meeting the customer's helper there's just all kinds of things going on we're about two and a half hours away from the actual vehicle right now I hope this job's not as money as the last one because my boots are still wet from it we'll see there's no mud on this job this is just big crevasses in the Earth's crust the swallow Vehicles you know about that we've been there oh yeah we've done a few of those this Hamlin Valley job we did another big one out there we had to cross those crevasses and uh got the truck stuck on the way out after we welded the links together good job oh yeah we did get it stuck I got it stuck you drove right into one so that happens it happens to the best of us and Matt and me too we'll get them out okay I have to hold this oh there it goes all right we're stopping here to fuel up because we're driving across the Lonesome Prairie for a long time also I'm gonna grab some food and some drinks good idea supplies oh man it all looks so good I just can't decide Omega omelette I'm looking more for oh what kind of burrito is this the whole nine yards oh that's a breakfast burrito is there any lunch stuff yet you got all these options [Music] flour get some flour and some oil and some heading out into the buttermilk and make some biscuits so Tom talking about supplies made me think of something what did the janitor say when he jumped out of the closet supplies it's true you got my liquid refreshment we're gonna try that I got a barbecue rack of ribs sandwich I'm pretty sure there's no ribs in it and a shredded beef and cheese burrito Tom got nothing he got a sneeze he's got allergies all right let's hit the road Jack and we're gonna come back [Music] all right this is the end of the road for jefe's truck and the trailer we're gonna unload here and continue on with the off-road recovery rigs Doug is our guide he lives up here and he offered to show us the best way to get in here we're just heading up the canyon hopefully this works out good I don't see why it won't okay we have started the off-road portion of this job we're in the banana it's kind of a dirty mess from our job yesterday you would have loved her the last one we came and got out of here had he broken the links he had a diesel Dodge pickup his front axle was just flossing so we had to weld it back together before we go to now I believe everything's okay because I started it up it's still in four-wheel drive everything spun and moved no weird noises um you know we were gonna try to dig it out with a tractor yesterday this part here but uh which way did you did you come in the way we came or from the top we came in originally parking around just four wheeling we cooled around we were gonna try to get back over to the Hamlin Valley but couldn't so we we came back around and this is the way we uh ended up coming [Music] up um oh man this is the way we uh I can't believe it ended up coming I can't believe he made it through this I know right that's the Cowboy In Me I had to try it man I was thinking I was going to make it oh wow it's a crevasse you weren't wrong crevass is real it opened up and swallowed his truck all right I don't see any uh people hung up nothing broken oh I think we can just pick up the front and just slowly drag it that way and drive yeah nice and slow so do you want to marry him over the crevasse yep do you want to grab the keys from him yeah if we pick this front end up and set it so it's straddling this yeah that keeps us from raking the whole side right yeah I think that'll lift the back end out a little bit and then once we set the front end then we can see we might even do a little shoveling just to get the back road to climb up to climb yeah okay that's what I'm gonna do so I'm gonna I'm gonna set up off to this a little bit lopsided so that when we pick it up it'll go it'll fall this way um actually I don't want to be too far because I don't want to like be raking it as it goes up so we'll be just a little offset and then I can crab walk over that's my plan drive at a foot okay I like to talk it through sometimes also people ask me like I'd love to know what Matt's thinking I don't know if you would I'm very I'm a very boring shallow person all right I'm just gonna try not to get impaled yeah here got to get everything out of my pockets so I can sit down okay all right let go [Music] [Music] there the football was in the in the vehicle with you we grabbed it out of the vehicle right no football you dig around you sure [Music] oh that was that was sad sometimes sometimes we do things to make drama oh yeah I was a little nervous hey we got back up we got switches in the cab yeah yeah but it would have been sad I can't turn the radio off so I'm just in here jamming like it won't I can't turn the volume down I can't change the station and I can't turn it off but that's okay my bad habits lead to you okay put it in neutral about hold the brakes pretty good did you turn your wheel to the right okay right there that's good [Music] I'm using it as a as our uh Rock slider okay what happens if you let off the brakes a little bit hey that's off I'm not moving okay just kind of be ready for it let's stay off what's up okay I think I'm just gonna roll forward real slow nothing nothing's touching [Music] a little bit there we go [Music] thank you how's that looking really good okay uh we'll let you down how was that uh it was great we were at some crazy angles there a few bumps and now we're back on Solid Ground I think he'll just drive out [Music] not too bad wire wow yeah I got some zip ties oh zippers okay great was it tied up yeah they'll get me home I guess the next step is to get oh you guys thank you Doug well we got to get you out to the road thank you well we're gonna make it out together right yeah yeah there's a couple spots that look I made it through at one point so okay well we'll just meet back up at the truck and trailer yeah we'll just spot you through this all right so this is Doug he is our area expert and guide in here uh when he's like hey I can take you in there I'm like oh we got this I'm glad we had Doug we we took we took some uh we took some roads in here and I guess it's the only way because the main road is just washed out so we got Caroline and Midge the dog smidge smidge the dog yeah okay well let's get out of here I'm Glad You Came that was pretty cool this thing's pulling a wheelie yes I felt weird I could feel it like rising and then I would just sit there and then this the Tahoe would move forward and then I'd pull forward and then just sit there and pull forward so that partially answers the question why we don't have a longer boom on this and that partial answer is Leverage Leverage is one of the reasons why we keep it short all right we are out of here we still got to get him out of here but he should be able to make it through all of this without too much
