hey guys welcome back eli here i'm gonna cover face or head replacements it's a very common request you get from people sometimes people want to put their head on a better body or for whatever reason someone wants to pretend they were somewhere else and they wanted to stick their head on some someone else's body or whatever it might be sometimes they they just need different faces on stock images so it is a common request but what we're going to do i'll grab this man's head here and put it on this man's body here so look if someone gave me this job and said can you put this man's head on this person's body the easiest way to do this one obviously they're wearing the same sort of clothes so i would just probably just cut from the v here uh cut the head around and then just stick it over the v here and then just manipulate it a bit to cover it properly however that doesn't cover you know the the intricacies of doing jobs of this nature what i want to cover is how to blend in someone's face onto another body and preserve um have no seams going around going on around the head so for the for the purposes of that i'm going to cut a part of this man's head and put it on top of this person i'm going to seamlessly try to blend that into this person's neck and body okay so i'm intentionally complicating this job just so that i can illustrate to you how to do other jobs of this nature because they're all not all going to be easy as this where you can just cut out the v and paste over another um usually they're a bit more complicated than that normally you have to blend in the um you know the skin tones and all that so let's let's go ahead and do this okay so look if you're going to do this from [Music] a different image always the first requirement is ensure there is similar lighting conditions throughout okay now because this is the same image obviously the lighting is consistent so i don't have to worry about that but if someone's going to give you an image and say i need this person's head on this person's body for example the first thing you want to make sure is that they both have similar lighting conditions if they both have indoor lighting then make sure that the lighting is coming from the same direction on both of course you can flip ahead around and artificially kind of create that but if someone's got light coming from a spotlight coming from the top and the other face has a spotlight coming from the left it's not going to it'll look fake so just bear that in mind the other thing um if it's gonna be outdoor lighting as this is this has like a really kind of daylight thing happening okay if it is going to be outdoor lighting then just ensure that is it is still consistent one that you can't have sunlight i've just removed the visibility on that back layer and i'm just good because i just want to work on this i've pasted cut and pasted so i just want to work on this individually but yeah so if you if you've got diffused lighting as this then you can only paste it on a diffused lighting body you cannot mix shadows and diffuse lighting so that's important i i say this on on most of my videos okay i'm just going to complete this cut so i'm using the fuzzy select tool selecting holding the mouse button down pressing and dragging down that does a good selection for me you can see it's selected all that then i just press delete let's remove the extra bits here i'm just going to hold the mouse button down do the same thing delete delete delete delete same thing here okay i have a sufficient amount of this kind of removed i think it's good enough okay let me switch on the back layer again okay now let me just cut that i didn't mean to cut here um although so what i'm going to do i'm just going to undo and restore the original image because i i should have copied not cut there we go because i still have the old the other one in memory i can just paste it again and i still have that there okay now oh i'm going to put that there however let's just assume i didn't have this neck here because i could you know again i could just stretch this down and make it make it work easily but what i really want to show you is blending in two peoples tears let's just say it was like this let's say that's the image we have to work with okay and we need to somehow make that consistent well there's a way okay so the first thing here right is that the person's head behind this person is still showing so select the base layer select the clone tool and you can clone over that okay so clone the old head out of the way there okay so now we just have this now we want to make this person's you know skin tone consistent how do we do that okay let me just tidy up this person's position of the head i'm going to move it down there we go that seems to line up quite well this side is not lining up really well so i can just use this tool here the it's called the warp transform tool and i'm going to drag this up a little bit here there we go okay so that's now coming in now i'm going to grab the base layer i can just select the skin like that or i can just artificially select it or manually select it let's let's go around i'm going to do this properly now the other tool you can use here to select is the stroke path tool which allows you to do curves that would probably work better for this particular selection although you know it's not it's not going to take me terribly long anyway so it doesn't it doesn't really bother me too much at this stage okay so now i've made a selection of the bottom area you're going to get these sorts of challenges okay um i'm going to go to colors and hue saturation okay because we're going to have to change the hue we have to change the lightness okay and so that's kind of made it similar in lightness although it is heavily saturated okay so i'm going to reduce the saturation and you can see the skin tone is starting to look a little more consistent there's less saturation um and maybe the hue needs to change a tiny bit if i go back to zero let me just show you what it's like at zero it's it's a little bit greeny down here now if i change the hue okay that introduces a little bit more red looks a little healthier like that okay and i can still kind of if i need to i can reduce the saturation or just find the happy point okay but i'm probably just going to leave it there okay so compare this here to this here it looks very similar i could probably increase the saturation there as well because that looks a little bit more uh you know red there so i could just let me get that selection back and i could just go back to saturation i've got i've got that reference point to compare to so i'm going to i'm going to use it to my advantage but what you can do is actually i'm going to leave the lightness as it is but the hue can be more red okay like that and i will increase the saturation a little bit but not too much look that's looking the same as that now you saw how quickly i did that um you know obviously if this was a proper job i'd probably take a little bit longer to try and make it a little bit more consistent but you can see one thing i was doing if i turn off the base layer it's important that you know you feather the bottom part where the old head meets the new body it's important that that's feathered because that's the only way to get rid of that seam otherwise you're gonna have a very harsh seam so it's very easy to to put someone's head on someone else's body um you see that all the time on you know on the internet where people just do these things and they request these jobs all the time hopefully you've learned something with that drop me a comment if any dramas but i'm certain that you'll have no issues if you just follow that simple advice
