what's good welcome back my name is Kelly for those that are new and today I'm gonna do a quick little tutorial on Adobe Audition for those that are new this is not going to be nothing in depth I just want to make a quick little tutorial to show you guys how to get started and start recording some vocals on Adobe Audition I have a ton of Adobe Audition tutorials that you guys can go check out if you guys want to learn how to mix on Adobe Audition go check out this video maybe go check out this video and if you guys want some Adobe Audition presets to mix with we have those two we have a ton of Adobe Audition content on the channel but today we're gonna keep it short and simple so I hope you guys enjoy this video open up Adobe Audition now if this ever happens you see this message just hit later or X you don't need to recover it and sometimes when you recover it it just it just crashes anyway so later bam all right so Adobe auditions open so we're gonna go to file we're gonna go to new multi-track session then we're gonna name it whatever we want fold their locations so find a place that you want to save this session that you remember that you won't forget template now I'm assuming you guys don't have templates but if you do want templates for Adobe Audition links are in the description down below get some templates today for the sample rate you can keep at 44 100 bit depth keypad 32 mix stereo okay all right so now we have the awesome program Adobe Audition open now if your layout looks a little bit different than mine what you can do is go to window go to workspace and go to classic now this gives you a nice clean workspace it's simple it's easy to work with that's how I like to do it alright so step number one we gotta set up our microphone to record our vocals so we're going to default stereo input go to audio hardware and here we set up our microphone what's up guys editor Kelly here I just wanted to say that your microphone already might be set up so in that case just click none or default stereo input it's going to say one of the two they go to mono and go to mic 1 or mic two whatever input your mic's plugged into but if your mic's already set up that's all you got to do click the mic go to R and then hit the Red Dot and you're good to record but if your mic's not already set up listen to Kelly he'll show you how to set it up so my device class that I'm using is ICO you might be using Ico as well if you're using Windows I know Mac is different now if you guys are using a USB mic I suggest downloading Ico for all this will help you with any lag that you get on your USB microphones when I use USB microphones this is what I use to record with you could also use the mme on Mac again it's different I've never used the w-a-s-a-p-i you guys got to figure out the audio driver that you're using and select your audio driver so now we gotta select our device so the universal audio that's the interface that I'm using you might see your interface here as well there's the Ico for all for the USB microphones but I'm using the universal audio so I'm going to select that that's my interface now for the buffer size I suggest using the lowest possible buffer size that your computer can handle the higher the buffer size the better it handles effects the lower it is the more on point you're recording is especially if you're going to record music because you don't want any lag on your vocals so the lower the buffer size the more on point your vocals are the less lag Now 44 100 is usually what I use for my sample rate there's other sample rates but I suggest using 44 100 now again if you're recording music you want to match your sample rate to your file so say you have an MP3 that's 4800 or 48 000 then you want to change your sample rate to 48 000. okay all right so now if you want to record go back to default stereo input go to mono and select your microphone my microphone is plugged into mic input number one so I'm using mic one so we're going to select mic number one then click the r to record and as you guys can see we're lighting up yeah yeah and we're good to record now if you go down here to this Red Dot and click the red dot so we got an error but we can learn from this so if you guys ever see this error hit okay it's not gonna let me record so now we're gonna go to file and click save as hit okay yes and now it should work what's up yeah what's up how's it going and that's how you record some vocals and if you right click it you can drag it around and if you guys want two vocals you can click this select your microphone record down here turn this off what's up guys now we got two vocals you can go back up here select your microphone record here what's up guys now we got three vocals so now let's say we want to record some music all you got to do is drag in your mp3 and then record over it so so here's an instrumental that I have just drag it in oh I'm running out of space now I like to have my instrumental at the top so we're gonna grab this track right here and drag it up now we can record our song when I record I like to hit shift space but you can also hit the Red Dot down here but I just feel like shift space is easier but uh yeah it's a little shortcut shift space I can't erase running these tracks this is a race bars and that is pretty much it I hope you guys enjoyed the video I hope you know how to record on Adobe Audition if you guys want to learn how to mix on Adobe Audition here here's a video I just dropped we have a ton of Adobe Audition content we also have Adobe Audition vocal presets like these ones completely Adobe auditions stock effects you don't need to buy any plugins as long as you have Adobe Audition you have access to all the effects but that is pretty much it for me I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did make sure to give it a thumbs up comment below subscribe if you guys are not subscribed and I'll see you soon with another video peace
