come on Billy daily Villeroy how are things in your life these days pretty good well George and I are partners in the Yankees everything's wonderful and the question you get probably everywhere he goes yeah if the opportunity came up again to manage some where would you take it I don't think so they right I'm very happy what I'm doing and that engine was a lot of fun but takes a lot out of you yeah and you work with the fill and and the build all right yeah and then Phil actually he does sleep during the games doesn't uh he's sensational sews bill like that they make it very easy for a rookie to break him uh-huh but but he leaves early he calls chloride he goes home well hit car gives him orders he doesn't call uh have you talked to Mickey Mantle yes I had talked to him every day he's alright he had a slight problem he was run down a little bit here to Bronco infection and I think he's gonna be here this weekend oh good so everything looks pretty good there yes now the the one time he was on about a year ago I guess he told a story or somebody else told a story about you Mickey Mantle and whitey Ford going hunting in the offseason right well you know the story is there any truth to it it is but the kind of embarrassing because I'm I come out being a scapegoat the whole thing Oh in the old days when somebody come up I never remember guys names I said Mickey who's that Mickey has a memory like an elephant he said the guy's jimmying the guy come up and say hi Jimmy said Billy the names Tom I do this table so one time one thing would lead to another there'd be a fight okay so you guys on I saw this one time he called I was living in Arlington Texas and he said Billy look I know how you like to hunt I'll pick you up at 12 o'clock and we're gonna drive four hours to Kerrville Texas and would kill some turkey and some wild dearest oh that'd be great so we drive down there for hours we get down here so now you just wait out in the car I'll get the keys all the gates and we'll go out there shooting now so that's great so unbeknown to me when he gets in the house the guy says Mickey look I've got a old mule out there that's a pet the kids he's twenty years always gone blind we just don't have the way that we want to put him away so we just can't do it cuz he's like family me and he said will you shoot the bill Vicky says okay I'll do it but I hate to do but I'll do it so we go out there and Mickey says that guy won't let us hunt here this is Mickey you gotta be kidding me he's a nice I'm so mad I'm hung up to his barn and shoot his mule I said Mickey you can't shoot some hands mule he says I'm gonna shoot his mule I said okay so we go to the barn and he pulls out his rifle and kills him you'll and just then he hears bam bam he turns rice's what are you doing Daigle I said I got two of his cows did that actually that actually it actually happened I got those $800 it post Oh she set me up pretty good George Jesus it's always a pleasure to have you here I hope you have a great season to be terrific for New York well it's good to be back and it's good to have Billy here it's a we're working together now and he's with us and doing a fine job yeah well I'm actually running the ballclub now I handle of scouting and the matrons out together all right George handles the TV contract that's right

You could see Steinbrenner start to actually get mad at Billy’s jokes right at the end before Billy and the audience start laughing and Letterman tries to cut
