hey everybody it's Garrett welcome back to my channel in this video we're back at it with some Dollar Tree DIYs this go round we're going to be making some DIY decor for our outdoor spaces I had a few pieces in mind that I wanted to make for my balcony area and I'm excited to share them with y'all so without further Ado let's get started the pool noodles are officially out at Dollar Tree so of course we've got to make a DIY with them for this first project I grabbed four of the pool noodles and we're going to start by cutting them all down to roughly the same length I started with one cutting it down to the length or height that I wanted it to be and then I used that to mark on all of the other ones where I needed to cut them next I want to attach all of the pool noodles together in kind of a circular cylindrical shape so I'm going to use this wreath form that I also got from Dollar Tree a while back in order to serve as kind of a guide as I attach all of the pool noodles together and in order to attach them I'm using some Gorilla Wood Glue as well as gorilla hot glue sticks just using stuff that I already have on hand but I felt that these would provide a fairly secure Bond and as you can see I am applying the wood glue first and then a strip of hot glue right next to that just to create a quicker bond with the hot glue and then over time as the wood glue dries it'll be much more secure the wreath form is just providing a nice guide to keep all of the pool noodles in as close of a circular shape as we can make it it is is not entirely perfect but that is totally okay I used some hot glue to close up the ends as you can see here and then I let this dry really well over a day or two and I did end up wedging one more pool noodle right in the center just to add a little more support once everything was nice and dry I took the piece outside and gave it a good allover coat of this black rustoleum spray paint and a flat finish one of my favorites while we're at it we're also going to take one of these pizza pans from Dollar Tree and give it a nice coat of the black spray paint as [Applause] [Music] well back inside once everything had dried really well it was time to put these two pieces together so I am once again taking some gorilla wood glue and some gorilla hot glue in order to secure the pool noodles to the bottom of the pizza pan as you can see I'm just adding a generous amount of both and then I went ahead and flipped over the pizza pan and centered the stack of pool noodles right in the middle as best I could and applied some pressure while the hot glue dried then I took it outside popped a little plant on top and now I have the perfect little outdoor side table that was affordable and easy to make [Music] [Applause] [Music] for the next project we're going to be using this set of two plastic bowls from the Dollar Tree Kitchen wear section as well as some of these Dollar Tree party beads now to get this project started we're going to separate the two bowls and then use a little E6000 which you can also get from Dollar Tree and go ahead and apply a good amount of that around the bottom of one of the bowls and while we're at it we're also going to add a little bit of gorilla hot glue as well just to add a quick Bond while the E6000 dries and then we're going to place the other Bowl right on top of that making sure it's nice and centered and applying a good amount of pressure while the hot glue dries once everything is good and dry we're going to go back in with our party beads and start to hot glue those around the center of this piece right where the two bowls meet just to add a little bit of detail to this [Music] piece next we're going to be using two different spray paints again we're using the black rium spray paint and a flat finish but first we're going to use this metallic gold spray paint by kryon to give a nice nice good coat to the top Bowl mainly on the inside and right on the rim we're going to let that dry really well and then flip it right over and cover the rest of the piece in the black spray paint [Music] a [Music] our third DIY is a really fun one and probably one of my favorites we're going to be using a few hoola skirts as well as these 3D wreath forms from Dollar Tree they come in two different sizes so I did grab the smaller and the larger one for this project and they come apart very easily as well we only need one ring from each size so I just popped one of those out from each and from there we are going to attach the hoola skirts onto these hoops and I felt that the easiest most mess-free way to do this would be with some zip ties that I already had on hand I feel like you can probably get zip ties from Dollar Tree as well but it was super easy I applied one of the zip ties to one end of the hula skirts to get it started and then I applied zip ties about every 10 knots on the hula skirt just making sure there's adequate support along the way so that the hoola skirt doesn't hang off of the hoop too much I did have to use a second hoola skirt to fully cover this first ring next we're going to take one of these plant hangers also from Dollar Tree that has the three chains hanging from it and we're going to attach it to three different points on this first ring and we're going to make sure to grab part of the hoola skirt into each hook as well to keep the hooks from moving around too much on the ring and as you can see this one is already coming to life you could really stop right here if you wanted to but we're going to take it one step further and add a whole another layer in order to add that next ring we're going to take another one of those plant hangers remove the big Hook from the top so that we have three individual chains and then we're going to attach those to that first ring and and in order to do so we're going to pry open one of the links on the Chain slip it right on top of that first ring and then clamp it back together I did go back through and shorten each of these chains so that the next ring doesn't hang too low in the center now we're ready to add our second smaller hoop that we've already covered in hoola skirts and we're just going to place it right into the center and attach the hooks from the chains that we just added to three different points on this smaller ring and then we're ready to take it outside and hang it up on the balcony using one of these little hooks that I got from Home Depot once I got it hung up I was loving how it looked already but I did want to give it a quick little haircut just to kind of give it a little more shape and structure it doesn't have to be perfect because I think some unevenness will lend itself to the organic nature of this I'm not going to add any lighting to this but I do love the detail it brings to my balcony and I really love how this turned [Music] out all right y'all that completes this video of some some more Dollar Tree DIYs
