Gaming on a 40€ PC from CEX - The Ultimate Potato! 🥔

hello guys crispy and welcome back to another sunday video in this one my friends we're gonna be testing the 40 euro pc that i bought from cex with three years of warranty how can they put warranty on this thing like i don't know if it will survive the day honestly so first things first it comes with a beautiful dvd drive right here which is working actually it's the first time that i'm trying it so i'm glad that it's working and here we got the rest of the pc specs let's go over them right now shall we so for the cpu we got an amd athlon 64 x2 4600 plus cpu 89 watts two cores two threads 2.4 gigahertz actually said it was from 2008 in the unboxing video that i did in the second channel link down below in the description by the way but no it's from 2006 guys and it's running windows 10 because it came with windows 10 and i want to test it like it came for the ram we got three gigabytes of ddr2 that's uh of course very bad for today's standards so i'm not really sure if we can actually play many games on it unfortunately because i spent an entire day installing games on it especially because of that hard drive it's a 640 gig wd blue hard drive for the graphics card we got the pallet gt430 not too bad by any means considering it cost 40 euros you know and the the 430 actually sells for around like 20 to 30 bucks on ebay so it's about half the price of the computer already definitely worth it right the c4 here is a 480 watt unit i'm not really sure if it will hold up while playing the games honestly but let's find out if it explodes it exploded we got the warranty so it's fine i guess but all right that's it for the intro let's just do a quick speed test i i pressed windows explorer here and uh yeah it's not that slow in windows you know i could actually browse the web and stuff like that but installing games on it took forever and once i tried to install gta 5 at the same time as rockstar games launcher and this happened i mean i i've never seen something like that i had to force restart the pc let's play some games on it now shall we first of all guys let's try the youtube test i'm gonna go here to edgeyoutube.com and we're gonna search for the unboxing video of this pc yeah that should be fine oh god come on okay crisp digimon channel this is it over here let's go to the unboxing it's right here can i click it please thank you come on okay so we're in the middle of the video i'm gonna try scrolling through it a little bit i don't know every component like the case okay we can watch it what quality is this pretty terrible oh my god 360p let's try out like 720p can it run 720p please 2008 it's really bad oh the sound is wrecked and the video is buffering it's not the internet by the way it's one gigabit internet here but yeah the cpu just can't handle it i guess wow it's only 720p guys oh god oh boy what the hell oh it doesn't it doesn't load anything jeez okay now it's fine all right there we go this is obviously the best game in the world because it has jack in it it's gta5 let's go can i go to the settings please by the way it is in spanish but i am not gonna restart the game for it to be in english because it took literally 25 minutes for it to load so we're playing in directx 10 800 by 600 lowest settings no shadows i disabled those in the config files advanced settings are all turned off and let's go please oh my god you know what guys michael is actually really slim right now and i'm feeling uncomfortable so i will make him a little bit fatter as he should be oh no what have i done please please don't crash on me i don't have another 25 minutes okay thank you all right that was scary okay come on getting inside of the car we we gotta see jack guys i i know this is a totally unplayable mess but we gotta see that bastard so let's go okay there you guys all right all right all right so the gt430 can actually do a heck of a lot better of a job than this it's a 20 usage right now i think it would be playable on the 430 damn look at this ah but uh the cpu [Laughter] the cpu can't do anything oh my god oh people are screaming in horror of course they are i don't think i have ever seen gta running this bad gta 5 you know the g100 was a lot better than this because we paired it with a good cpu that could handle the game even the a9 94 285 was a lot better than this and i thought it wouldn't get much worse than that but this of course is a 2006 gp cpu running gta 5. i have no idea what i'm doing oh my gosh there is apparently a wall there oh okay also guys i couldn't really get the cpu frequency what is happening oh my god um up in the the on-screen display by the way as well as power usage of the cpu or gpu because these components just don't allow me to to show it to you you know they don't support it oh my gosh jack's hill is disappearing sometimes no what is this oh come on please get out of the way people i need to see jack i need to see jack buddy i'm coming i'm almost there let's go jack i can't believe jack didn't load guys are you serious all of this to see jack and he just didn't really load today uh i can't blame him it's it's a horrible horrible experience he just didn't want to be here obviously now bob must be down there for us to kill him otherwise the rest of the video is going to be terrible we need to get rid of bob no bob is not here 16 fps average that's actually surprising but zero one percent lows super extremely bad let's actually play a gta title this is san andreas my favorite probably 1080p resolution low settings draw distance is actually set to the maximum but that was by default so let's see how it does oh oh no no no come on now what is this what no stop stop stop it was working previously i don't understand why why you gotta be like that come on oh god are you serious it seems like this is actually playable with 60s 40s at times the cpu still struggles a little bit here for sure i'm sorry no you jumped in front of a car it's not my fault okay i am also playing with a 40 euro pc so you guys you people gotta understand not you again please are you kidding me so the gpu is definitely capable of getting way higher fps than these probably like 100 120 at times with the cpu good enough to not bottleneck it this card is actually a little bit faster than the gt710 by the way from what i have seen because it's the 128-bit version of this the 430 and the cpu here in in gta san andreas this is a 2004 title it's not maxed out most of the time if you are driving fast however it will be maxed out and it is right now oh boy oh boy we we need to grab a car we need to grab a car and you know what guys this is an amazing title the fact that it runs pretty smoothly zero settering issues by the way on a 40 euro pc it's actually great you know i'm i'm not going to complain about this experience it's pretty damn good i would definitely enjoy this i played this game on the ps2 back in the days and that was kept to 25 fps this giving 60 fps on average is an amazing experience in gta san andreas i i think if you have something like this the games from this era are actually what you should play on it okay don't just forget recent titles all right i'm still gonna test like violent csgo and stuff like that easier games to run but i i doubt they will run as good as gta san andreas over here csgo is next it's been 4 minutes and 13 seconds since it started loading the match and still waiting ok now i'm starting to get worried because it's been 6 minutes and 30 seconds and death matches only half 10 minutes oh finally finally okay we can still play like two minutes maybe if i manage to select a side and you know what's interesting oh no come on it only took a minute for it to load this match right here so the second time around is gonna be much faster but then you get into it and it's zero fps in csgo it's running worse than gta v how the heck is that even possible oh my god is this game broken oh my gosh this is this is not even loading some of the textures damn look did you see that okay i was going to say it's interesting that this cpu is almost as fast as the minimum required cpu for this game which is a core 2 duo e6600 this is not too far off that performance like 10 slower and it runs like this so valve definitely needs to update their freaking requirements this is not this is not accurate whatsoever like what is this i mean i have never seen csgo like this it's just black textures come on oh we got him [Laughter] yeah wrecked boy starting to get better you know as time goes by another thing is guys if i played this game at 640 by 480 it would make literally zero difference because we're not gpu bound okay cpu is already bottlenecking our gpu like crazy oh another one another one oh yes now it's valid guys i have been trying to get into it for the last 20 minutes and i finally got it yes i i just needed to go into the config files and set everything to low and 720p windowed uh can i can i show you the settings okay thank you oh boy yes finally finally 720p lowest settings let's turn off bloom as well and that's it let's go let's not limit the fps of course not that it will even reach 30 but okay guys it's been stuck here for the last six minutes it hasn't moved one bit it hasn't updated the frame time graph a single time so we we haven't seen a single new frame here since uh six minutes ago six and a half now yeah i i don't know oh it's really weird that when i decide to talk to you about how long it's taking it starts working what the hell all of that all of that waiting for this let's go back to something that actually works need for speed most wanted from 2005. i played this game so much on the ps2 guys and we're at 1024x768 res using the level of detail on maximum so the highest settings almost without any anti-aliasing okay here we go so one percent loads are already pretty bad maybe it's because we're running this in windows 10 you know windows 7 would be much more adequate for something like this and i actually thought it came with windows 7 but it didn't unfortunately ooh this is extremely intensive right here wow i thought a 2005 game would actually run better than it is running right now um on the gt430 [Laughter] what the hell dudes 20s it's still playable compared to everything that we've seen so far aside from san andreas but i mean i expected better i don't understand why the level of detail is still on maximum but we're at 1024x768 we're getting 60 fps right there and i changed it down to low to medium settings it has no medium by the way it's either on low or high these settings right here okay and these are on the middle so maybe it's medium settings i don't know but it seems like it's gonna be way more playable uh and it looks it actually looks pretty good still doesn't look bad it might actually look better than it did previously guys not gonna lie that the bloom effect previously or the brightness over brightness you know it was pretty annoying and right now it looks cleaner and the colors don't look as orangey you know so it's not like apex legends anymore although it still stutters quite a bit yeah you can see that it's dropping our one percent lows that again is probably because we're running windows 10 instead of windows 7 or something like that but yeah i could enjoy my time in need for speed most wanted 2005. this is an amazing title once again one of my favorite need for speed games if not my favorite one oh they they decided to stay there and wait for me and now i'm first place okay that's good even here by the way with a ton of trees around us it's not intensive anymore yeah not bad no no no you bastard okay oh come on no no jesus that guy i didn't know ai did that they don't do that in forza horizon 5 for example next up is the elder scrolls skyrim we're playing at 720p using the low settings preset this is it right here all right we are cpu bound once again in this game at 720p low oh boy the popping is insane at the low settings guys wow but at least oh no i was gonna say at least it's playable with around like 40 or 30 to 40 fps but then this happens oh man come on i really thought it was gonna be better than this this is terrible still because of the stuttering you know maybe it's the ram at this point actually causing all of this stutter yeah i keep forgetting that we only have three gigabytes of ram and that's obviously a very big issue especially in newer titles i guess the fact that the ram is also in single channel mode it hurts it a lot guys because if it was four gigabytes of ram like four sticks of one gigabyte it would be much better probably because it would run in in dual channel i think i'm not even sure if this motherboard can run dual channel honestly but yeah i can't really recommend skyrim unfortunately with this it's not the gpu's fault once again that's running at 30 to 50 usage it would be playable with a better cpu it's just the cpu and ram from configuration it's just too old for this game fortnite is up next it's been stuck like this forever i'm not sure if it's gonna work or not the first time it took 20 minutes for it to load and then it said i couldn't connect to the servers so yeah there we go it's exactly the same thing again what about if i click cancel i click to relaunch the last time but yeah it's just yeah okay oh the struggle the struggle to close things i closed fortnight a while ago and it's it's in a black screen now can't do anything what is happening it it it's restarting the explorer guys oh my god i clicked ctrl alt delete by the way like 10 seconds ago that's why this is happening now team fortress 2 is next hopefully this is going to be playable 720p lowest settings possible let's go [Music] oh i remember these stutters at the beginning of this game ncs source as well back in the days oh my no way it's unplayable still are you kidding me this game is from 2007. although it has received a ton of updates like csgo and now it runs like crap oh did it crash i can't hear anything else now i don't know what else to do i don't oh it it came back to life it came back to life i was sure it had crashed there ah let's try to get a kill and move on shall we my friends even gonna start counting our fps why not ah we are getting wrecked as well what the hell dude uh team are you there come on come on almost there we almost got one no no gonna go here there's health no no i want i just wanna kill please i think it's the ram guys because the ram usage is maxed out here in this game as well the cpu it could do a little bit better than this i believe also if this pc had an ssd it would probably have been playable in these in some of these games i can't do anything i just i give up but since it doesn't have an ssd whenever it runs out of ram it swaps the things to the hard drive and then it's terrible it's the dirty mess basically dota 2 is next at least this game tells us that it requires 4 gigabytes of ram minimum and a cpu that's better than what we're using so it makes sense that it doesn't work very well and well at least it's stopped in this beautiful image right also i can't really show it to you right now but i set everything to the lowest settings we're at 1080p but with 40 resolution scale which is less than 720p i guess it's it's loading oh finally gosh this took a really long time and as you can see cpu is at 100 percent ram usage is maxed out and this is totally awful i've never seen it this bad honestly even the g100 got way better fps than these that's crazy and it also ended right now at least we got to see a little bit of gameplay there kind of slideshow of a gameplay yes i cannot believe this guys this is the only valve game so far that actually works kind of it it launched absolutely fine it loaded the game absolutely fine in less than like 30 seconds and now it's playing it okay-ish it's really really stuttery and i don't think this is a very enjoyable experience honestly but i am playing the game it's better than like team fortress 2 which is super weird because team fortress 2 came out two years earlier than this and it was um less intensive back in the days not anymore though is stupid actually how the heck valve stop killing your games come on should we do these guys should we do this come on oh yeah get rekt i still got it my friends oh yes there's a hunter yeah direct hunty boy and the boomer oh i can't i can't i can't okay there we go that was really sketchy guys i have to i don't think once again i don't think i've ever had such a bad experience in life 482 even back in the days when i was playing this game at 20ish fps it was better than this because it wasn't a statory now it's completely awful it you could argue that it's still playable though for some people but i i don't like this tank is coming oh okay hello buddy oh no no no no no no you come on all right he's dead he's dead thank god for easy difficulty in games all right hello boomy girl how are you going all right let's go let's go to the next one this was reasonable compared to everything else that we tried today and let's end it with minecraft bedrock edition this is the windows 10 version of the game not java because java is just gonna run terribly with this cpu basically also i can't really show you the fps in this one which sucks fraps is not working msi afterburner is not working so uh yeah there is no way to see the fps f3 doesn't work in this game either so yeah we just can't really see but i mean this is i would say like 40 to 60 frames per second most of the time is actually 60 frames per second it feels quite smooth turning the mouse around but i could be wrong here because we have been playing with very low fps so even like 40 might look and feel really really good to me let's go over the settings now please game okay there we go so we're actually playing at 720p resolution i set the desktop res to that and we're using the lowest settings with 95 fov and 14 chunks of render distance which is actually the recommended and yeah it runs quite well it's not too bad but it takes a while for it to render some of the things that's for sure what the hell uh it could still be kind of unplayable you know now it's starting to stutter a bit you can definitely tell right yeah that is bad if you're playing survival mode maybe it is actually playable if you're just flying around in creative mode things will disappear in front of you and take a while to load but i mean for minecraft this is not bad it's over my friends the conclusion is finally here i am so happy that i don't have to test any more games on this thing i can say that it is not the worst thing in the world okay it is really really bad but you can still have a little bit of fun with like 2005 games and older but i would definitely swap that hard drive for an ssd otherwise even for a retro pc it's going to be quite annoying to browse the web and install programs and install the games with you know it's really really terrible in that regard it took me way too long things are loose around here it took me way too long to get the games working in this one and i just i i'm done with this today this athlon 64 platform with the cpu uh the 4600 plus it would be pretty great for a retro gaming pc you know like windows xp playing games from 2005 and older it would do a really good job but with windows 10 like it came from cex i don't know why they installed windows 10 on it because the listing said it was windows 7 i just i don't know it's terrible and that's been it for this one thank you very much for watching it don't forget to like and subscribe if you haven't
