Samsung Galaxy s24 versus iPhone 15 speed test let's go ahead and begin with a boot up in three to go and see which one can get there first now this is the base model galaxy s24 and it goes up1 in but it retains a Snapdragon series chip this is the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 coupled with 8 gigs of RAM over here on the right we do have ourselves the Apple a16 bionic and it does have like 6 gigs of Ram so this one over here has the iPhone 14 pro processor this one has the latest Qualcomm chip um you've seen the iPhone 15 did boot up faster though and when it comes to unlocking these phones we do have the in display fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy s24 and you can see it's very fast you can even unlock it with the screen off as long as you know where it's at now I don't really have the face unlock thing enabled here cuz I don't find that method very secure but it's very fast as well it's actually faster than the face ID over here but all you have to do is kind of raise to wake on this one and it'll kind of look at you now one of the cons of the iPhone 15 is you don't got always on display so keep that in mind but face ID is very nice and this oneone feels very smooth in the hand I feel like the Galaxy s24 feels a little sharper but definitely feels about the same size both of these are the most comfortable of each respective series now in terms of the general software and how they perform Samsung has really stepped it up over prior years defin itely really making this phone feel pretty much buttery smooth Flawless performance um pretty much everything you do so they're doing a really good job with the animations and all that stuff now and the speed um that whole thing about Samsung being slow is no longer a thing um also 120 HZ over there for the same price you get 60 HZ over here now I did talk about in my prior 15 plus video how the 15 still feels pretty good but when you compare it to that you can definitely see a little more choppiness it's not really choppiness it's more like a you just can see that 60 HZ doesn't refresh as fast and you really notice it when opening the applications it just looks different and it's not in a good way but at the same time this the only people are going to notice this is those who care about this if you compare phones like we do or you watch videos like we do you'll notice but the average consumer probably never will blink an eye or really care about this but as tech fans we definitely care and it's definitely noticeable iOS 17.3 and 1 UI 6.1 let's get into the app test Okay so we've arrived at the app test and you can see everything is closed out for both products let's go ahead and go into calendar animation faster on the Galaxy let's go into clock faster on the Galaxy we'll go into did I say clock that was calculator clock faster on the Galaxy again world clock stopwatch timers let's go into we weather here faster on the Galaxy and that's an improvement because the weather never used to load first on the Galaxy so that's a big Improvement if you ask me let's go into Play Store and say oh this guy really cares about a weather app yes I do I check the weather a lot actually the weather is very various it changes a lot where I live so I need to check it a lot um but definitely if you don't if you have the same sunny days all the time it probably doesn't matter but you can see look how that was um taking a while to load up definitely looks so much smoother on the 120 HZ Apple really needs to put 90 HZ or 120 HZ on the base it just has to happen like they cannot keep doing this man like just put a 90 HZ or 120 HZ the customer deserves it let's go into Instagram and I don't think it's a price thing like I don't think it's like a profit saving money thing because almost all manufacturers at this price point are giving that now so come on let's get it together let's go to the home back again and not bad let's go into Groupon that one wasn't ready doesn't look like that one was ready let's go ah and let that load we'll do that again we's go to Groupon 3 two go now it's faster there we'll hit categories things to do yeah it's a little snappier on that application on the Galaxy you can see right there let's go into Twitter X so that's faster than iPhone so basically I feel like if you're in the $700 price range basic phone realm that's what you're looking for um these are your two best options right here along with the pixel 8 um but definitely these are going to be dking it out for your dollar and I got to say dollar for dollar this is a tough one but I think the same Samsung is the better Hardware straight up if you're just looking for um let's go to Starbucks but there are Pros to the iPhone 15 that makes it the better option if you want to try Dynamic Island that's a cool neat feature for iPhone that's just not available on the Samsung if you like um better video quality I would probably pick the iPhone still has a great video camera um also if you like better resale value the iPhone's probably better unless you keep trading the Samsung every year for a tradein discount let's go over here and that was faster than a Samsung but if you like more features for your money more value for your money I think the Samsung is the winner that was faster than the iPhone let's go here but again value subjective if you value IM message FaceTime and the iOS experience you definitely are going to like the 15 like my wife for example I show her the uh Galaxy 24 she looks at it for 2 seconds okay nice and then she's back on her iPhone and then I show her to 15 she's looking at it for like 10 minutes so she clearly doesn't value Android and certain people um don't value the Android experience so they don't really care that the phone is better it doesn't matter to them cuz to them it's not better so that's how I I tend to look at things um we might know as tech fans that this stuff is better but when you put yourself in the shoes somebody who only wants to use iOS only likes the Apple experience they don't see this as better no matter how better the screen is no matter how better the zoom is they just simply don't see it as better it's just not for them so you remember that and then certain people and same thing for the other side see which one gets that faster that was pretty close not a big deal of difference same deal for the other side if you've been using Samsung for years or Android for years you just really really don't like apple you don't see any value in this product either so they're not really fair on that front let's go on to geekbench 6 but they definitely compete um at this price range that was faster on the Samsung it's going to 3D Mark some people think that this is not even a fair comparison because they think that the Galaxy s23 is closer to the 15 Pro so let me know if you want to see a comparison between the 15 Pro and the Galaxy s23 let's go into speed test faster on the left and we'll go into inshot we got a little popup a faster on the left so I would say animations most apps launched quicker for the Samsung let me do a heat check little bit toasty there not bad here I think the Samsung a little toastier on that front but overall I would say Samsung a little snappier with the applications opening and things like that definitely smoother with the 120 HZ but the iPhone still very consistent it had great performance all around the board so it's not really a major difference but that 60 HZ versus 12 12 is Major that's a major noticeable factor between these okay so let's go ahead and do some RAM management and see what we get here I don't know what's up with this all right let's go into camera and we'll going into pubg we'll go into Temple Run This Is Beautiful performance here for the s24 so this is going to be one heck of a phone for those of you who like a lightweight one-hander this is going to be great it really is let's go over here to tter X Groupon Instagram Play Store hold on weather clock calculator and we do have the calendar now Samsung also brought nonlinear animation so you can see it's very quick you can even see the app Clos before you get there so very good overall animations no lag nothing like that so very good stuff there for the Samsung let's go ahead and take a look at the iPhone experience now let me go and close this out let's go and take a look at the iPhone and see what happens here so we'll go into inshot we'll go into speed test there's still like um you know what's smoother I think I'm figuring it out the gesture it's just smoother on the iPhone maybe because you got to do like a two swipe on the Samsung I know I could put on the navigation buttons it could probably change that looks like we're getting a Reload though that was really strange let's go on to Starbucks Amazon eBay looked like it was reloading as well we'll going on to Twitter Groupon man that 60 HZ app store is reloading so surprisingly we're getting some reloads here on the 15 so I'm going to have to give the win to Samsung but this 60 HZ looks incredibly choppy when you look at the the 120 HZ some people won't notice it but the overall smooth Factor iOS still has smoother animations in my opinion so the choppiness of the refresh is noticeable but the smoothness is still there it's kind of a mixture of like smooth and choppy with 60 HZ so Apple puts 90 HZ 120 HZ this is another Flawless performance like the Pro Models okay and the final results are in and the Samsung with the loss here at 2145 and a 6158 on that multicore score um the iPhone a little bit ahead but not by a dozen it's not by a lot and the reality would show that the Samsung feels snappier and smoother um due to that 120 HZ panel once again let's go ahead and take a look at the but I'm still not giving it all its props you know the Samsung still lost it out in that geekbench but I'm going to go ahead and run these 3D Mark Wildlife extreme tests and I'll be done I'll be back when they're done so the Samsung absolutely demolishes the iPhone here in Wildlife extreme with a score of 4354 and 26.0 eight frame rate you can see scores better than 91% of other devices so I would bargain to say that this might be a better performer in games um with the Graphics especially considering the 120 HZ and a higher you know GPU score we'll probably see a better gaming phone on the left um in terms of just performance 20825 16.9 FPS that's much lower and scores only better than 66% of devices so this is definitely not the gaming phone um not that it won't play games iOS plays most games pretty good and mobile games let's be frank are pretty bad they're most of them are not great so most people might not be buying a phone um just be for playing games but if you do um I would probably pick the Samsung here just based on these scores alone although if there's certain iOS titles that you want to play that aren't available over there it's not like this won't perform it well it will but if you want even better I would go to the pro Max or the pro for better gaming um but overall not bad it still runs everything quite fine let's go ahead and take a look at um a quick camera launch here just to see what we get I'll go ahead and close out the camera here on both of them I think it's over here before we relaunch them and then I'll close it out over here just to make sure it's not already launched and we'll see which one can launch and which one has better shutter speed so let's back it out and let's go ahead and open up the cameras 32 go that look like the iPhone let's close them out and we'll go in 3 2 Go that one look like the Samsung we'll do it one more time for good measure 3 two go then about even so it seems to be pretty close let's hit the shutter there both of them can do a quick shutter when we go through the camera lenses I do believe the yeah the iPhone looks smoother when transitioning between camera lenses but you'll probably never really think about this or notice this when you're just trying to snap a photo so for the money I would say the Samsung is another really nice phone this year very premium looking um great discounts with the trade-ins and probably will be discounted as well uh Apple still has The Branding they still have the people that are just they're in the iOS ecosystem they're not leaving and that's just the bottom line it doesn't matter how many cameras Samsung puts how close it gets in design or whatever or if if you think it's just better that's your opinion there's still a fan base that just not leav an Apple so you know either way you go though you're going to be happy I would say this is like the Android iPhone over here and and this is well the iPhone but I think Apple needs to make um some upgrades to the screen but overall the body feels a little more comfortable on the iPhone 15 and the Samsung just feels like an s23 slightly improved so I would like to see Samsung make bigger updates as well next year to the Galaxy s25 so I'll catch you all in the next episode let me know your thoughts on these two down below and um which one you would pick I'd like to know drop it down below in the comments thumbs up if you enjoyed it subscribe if you haven't already Nick here be sure to be well and peace
