grow home i've never played and before anybody asks no i've not played grow up i actually i played this game a long time ago uh steam says i have three and a half hours on it which sounds about right i played it for exactly one session and i finished it and i was like that was cute and then i never played it again but it's nice it's good so uh yeah i'm gonna play for you today and i think probably the whole game i might kind of rush i don't know i don't know if this will be a speed run sometimes i just sort of i'm like okay this is kind of a short game let's just see if some funny stuff happens i don't know funny walking robot it'll work i don't know what this image is by the way this is just something the question i get sometimes is where do you find the images for this somebody like commented that on one of the vods recently and i you not i checked the size of the folder i have a folder that just is full of like images that i've saved over the years and it is 50 gigabytes it is it's like 48 point something gigabytes so whenever i need an image i have them all separated into folders and i go into the folders and i just scroll and i just look for something that catches my eye and uh and that that's how we do it sometimes every once in a while i'll get it off like google images or something like if i'm really like i think for some of the i streamed so many different half-life games that eventually i just started googling like half-life art or whatever like that's how i found the intro to the half-life speed run that was just that like black mesa sign in the middle of nowhere anyway that's that's more that's more memes and art that can then can fit on uh an ipod an original ipod nano because that was 40 gigabytes right okay i think i'm gonna full screen this game because as rudimentary as the graphics are it does look good and i like i like being immersed in certain games so you guys will have to let me know if the volume is ever at a weird place i figured out a couple streams ago i was like why do i sound so quiet because when i was playing back the videos that i recorded in a vlc the vlc volume was at 50 that's what was going on there so i'm a smart boy smart boy anyway uh that one that one intro thing is actually way louder than everything else in the game believe it or not um okay so i could continue that's my old save game i don't know if it'll delete it but if it does then so be it oh confirm okay uh let me know if that's a good volume for you guys though should be good if not i can adjust it among us star plant expedition day 937 german german 937 so the goal of the game is you got to get up to the ship and you grow these big plants and it looks really cool this is the guy his shirt says bud he's like a trashy stoner yo i love bud dude this is this guy's the best [Applause] harvest seeds for return to earth seeds oh my god oh ow okay so this is the guy that makes the funny noises and he does the funny walk his his steps are randomly generated and he does oh man just look at him schmove he's spinning his head and everything i'm sorry these butterflies are i i never realized this but these butterflies are just rotating very rapidly is that how butterflies work is that like a glitch is that supposed to be happening do you guys see these like spinning butterflies that's not how that works let me go to this internal power low i don't know what's up with that okay i guess i'll go get my like i'll get my battery i don't i didn't see any sort of like prompt there okay so yeah you get little grabby hands fix it up hell yeah you can jump to standard fare this game's got kind of like a breath of the wild type thing going on it's just like vertical you grab and you tug and the items go into you and you go uh so how's that volume now that we're in the actual game let me know i think this is actually a pointless thing to climb oh i got there's a flower oh crumbs crumbs this is the game ever made sure is one of if not the game ever made so yeah this is an object of interest these these are like a little parasol umbrella cutesy thing and i think the backpack indicates how many petals i still have yay you said doris doris i never got all the crystals that's like an optional side quest oh sheepies these look straight out of i've been playing psychonauts too he's looking right out of that if i want a telekinesis them can i grab i don't know if i can grab look at him run this is so whimsical look at this oh my god the walks that are achievable in this game are actually pretty intense he rammed into look at the butterflies whose idea was it just yeah don't make them flap mate just just make them like rotate real fast you're going in the water oh i'm in the water bye yo they got like their eyes are not like polygonal like everything else they're just perfectly round also i was not expecting the sheep to dissolve oh these are cute well my legs just did a hokey thing is there any point to doing this cute though because we're gonna we're gonna be seeing a lot of those this is basically breath of the wild too actually breath of the wild too has these like floating islands realized now that's the best one these kind of have a little bit of give to them i'm hugging a cactus okay why am i doing this go play the game there's crystals everywhere i see them all right what do we got i need to grab you two um oh here we go what does this remind me of this reminds me of a thing from something okay right this is like the fast travel menu his little legs his legs always do that like any buttons there i was just trying to walk and he like tumbled head over foot i think when you make a plant grow into these crystals these green crystal things it does something it like makes more plants grow or something went off at a bit of a funny angle there all right there you go it's the controls it's one of those things where uh oh right you need him to like grow the main plant i see it's one of those things where like vertically the controls are inverted and horizontally they're not or maybe it's the other way around um i'm playing funny robot game i don't need to think about things okay is that just nice okay i love his noises oh my god forgot how much i like the sounds this guy makes he just like cursed me out in cubert language maybe he's saying bud nice this is just this is what games were made to be do you ever feel like you're playing a game and you're like this is not even like this is not even in my like top 30 games of all time but this is also the peak of of gaming we have reached it the apex nice oh look i'll get this while i'm waiting for that i love the spinning butterflies that has to be a glitch that can't be real they're everywhere how did i never notice this when i first played the game i went through this entire game not noticing the butterflies rotate oh wait what do i need to i was looking at chat do i need to like tug these i see someone said funny angle 69 degrees and i was just thinking about carl pilkington saying hypotenuse in the exact same color all right no need to go back down right now it just sort of slows down your movement controls while you're using that menu because you use the same you use your movement controls to navigate the menu it's like kind of a little sloppy this is a ubisoft ubisoft i've never been sure how to pronounce it this is one of those it's like they have a bunch of like offshoots uh connect to an energy rock okay yeah so i can't do anything with this right now get me off this like weird this makes me think of uh gusty garden galaxy too the worm okay so let's find a red flower [Music] but there's also uh ubisoft montreal who brought us the amazing rayman origins and legends that is need to crank it up it's very light it is very ambient uh it might not be coming across perfectly for you guys is this an orange it makes like a smorsh sound when i hit it i touch okay i don't think it is i don't think it is for robot for touch this is just a weird thing it's a papaya or something i don't know why i'm i think i don't know if there's like zelda-esque like puzzles whoa that was weird you opened the orange because you tossed all the cacti off now tossing something off is is a whole another thing okay so the main sprig must have grown a little bit there can use either the triggers or the bumpers the controls are a little hokey pokey some someone said that i do agree it's a little sloppy but uh it's fun i i think it's fun it's it's got its own charm let's get these two while we're here good all right and i see our target engage just uh just a little hokey especially in this part maybe there's there's probably a setting to change that actually nice oh and look at that it's like carving a path through the mountain what face growth marvelous oh yeah the ship's name is mom i don't it's like uh i'm the baby i'm beppy and that's the mom that's the lore there's usually something up here if not not just a flower refill or crystal maybe and i will say a lot of the game is just this it's just climbing but it has a zen to it it's like like i said it's like breath of the wild when are these butterflies like they're ruining the game for me not really it's amazing whoa another papaya okay cool uh press right stick button to zoom in and out right stick button oh i see whoa this is like uh this is like in pikmin where there's just set there's two set i guess in pikmin there's three that's cool i don't know if i ever used this this is actually kind of awesome i might actually actually use that a bit i kind of like the close-up too for actually like doing but that's a good way to like get a nice view okay uh there's another one of these this is a very open-ended game so i can see uh i can sort of imagine i know this is oh we just did a little tumble again maybe i shouldn't like preempt this but uh and it's probably gonna be tempting in chat to be like oh go this way do this thing how is he missing that it's like there's so much to do uh so i might be a little aimless sometimes i don't really know what i'm doing here sure let's just go where this thing takes me i didn't really see any uh i mean do they just grow indefinitely surely not let's try to take it to the top of the mountain it oh and there it goes well it looks cool it looks really cool that's yeah not going to get that crystal because it's a little bit out of the way but it looks cool yeah the butterflies really are just like that yeah yep yep that's that's that's honestly baffling to me especially again that i i never picked up on that before okay we got lots of offshoots to do here i think when there's more like when an offshoot has its own offshoot then it like grows a little bit less or it goes less far that's that's my guess i don't know if that's a thing oh wait wait wait we gotta use this to enhance the path yes yes oh that's so cool right in the difficulty gripping some of this sick more plant this is oh this is the good part of the game i mean best part let's try and go like just directly down to that thing i don't know we're slowing down we're slowing down no don't curve no i'm i don't want it to do that i'm making it not do that what the okay at a certain point it's sort of rested control from me it wouldn't let me like curved away from the ground that's sad teleport is like right there bounce oh okay that worked that was cool we gotta get our fair share of climbing in i think there's a day and night cycle in this game too like i'm pretty sure the the sun actually moves across the sky and eventually it becomes nicked oh an offshoot please grab on okay said bildorf okay i'm gonna try to go straight down come on straight down want to test yeah okay it curves away from the ground there's something the game doesn't like about that and now i really am just going to take the teleport it just looks really cool though this robot with a little parachute butterflies are spinning all over the goddamn place everything's nonsense uh can i bounce on these i don't suppose i can rap oh no i can probably like tear them limb from limb though like rend them limb from limb i streamed warioware uh on the on the gameboy advance the original and i've always thought if i if i was going to do the wii version i would want to like play it with my mom i know that sounds weird but i just really think it would be a fun like my mom doesn't really uh interact with video games very much so i feel like it would be a good like casual experience and like that game is genuinely funny because i have played that before too the new warioware it's honestly unlikely that i will play on stream but maybe i don't know it looks hard it looks like it looks kind of hard like some of the characters i know you can choose which characters you play as after a while but some of the characters look real difficult to manage honestly oh he turned into like a crab there for a second that was insane i think i cannot touch the water where was the oh there it is i was like where's the teleport let's be getting that straight away before i take a little dip and die i remember tugging these things this is a whole thing first one i guess i just didn't need to do that because it was like the tutorial one or maybe i did it on accident actually i think it only had one that i needed to tug down and i did it on accident [Music] hmm yeah cat and nine volt those were the exact ones i was thinking of they just look so hard to manage because they move so fast and they're like they're automatically moving okay [Music] that is just so lovely look at that what a miracle video games are now it will grow i considered naming the stream grow homo by is tossing ideas out there i'm not trying to make grow home weird but uh you know maybe anyway what is oh that is this is there's many fungus among us eleven percent so we unlocked the camera controls and the first crystal unlocked the jump i just realized so that's how we get more abilities maybe i should be getting the crystals there's also that over there okay so what do we got here we go sometimes he just starts like running it's like when you as a kid you like start running down a hill and then you're like oh oh god i can't stop i can't i can't stop myself and you just have to like sprint to the bottom he kind of does that sometimes it's night time the butterflies still spinning eternally oh sad i love to use an offshoot a little bit of vertigo there we're at a precipitous fall if i do happen to fall here because i will just die of course there's not a huge penalty for death this is a relaxing chill nice game i'd recommend this to anyone it's honestly like not that hard to uh i guess the controls are a little shmanky but uh nothing too crazy like the difficulty is just not very high it's not very punishing i'm sorry i'm not i don't actually have an erection for doing feel like we're almost we're almost halfway right something like that dolores maybe we're not quite halfway there's a hill it's the wild horse monument you can look it up eastern washington talk about it all the time for some reason because it i this is this is how i travel is i go to the other side of my state that's what the like lame kind of travel i do but there's a hill that i could never i could never climb because the vertigo effect was just too crazy for whatever reason it's just like the right combination of like open sky it just like with my mind and like the verticality of it i like legit could not get myself to like walk up it and i would always like if i tried i would like always want to have my hands on the ground like steadying myself it was just something about it something about the way it looked just like with my brain and monkey brain didn't like it and trust me i wasn't just being lazy i've climbed plenty of worse hills in my life that's just how it be and sometimes in this game it's like ah i can sympathize with this guy just grabbing on to anything desperately trying to survive this is good we're making such such amazing progress like the little sounds he makes five out of six it even shows i didn't even really realize that's what it was showing it's the number of crystal planets in the region i i do think i want to play the other one too i assume i i don't want to get spoiled too much i guess that's probably not a spoilery type of game but uh i assume they riff on the formula a little bit you know and it's not just more of this that'd be kind of lame i'm gonna go over there [Music] oh my god literal direct target direct hit direct hit it's like riding a horse it's just it the vine has a mind of its own and you kind of need to like interesting things i saw at one point i swear it was three satellites in like a triangle formation like an isosceles triangle moving at in the same direction through the sky i don't know what was up with that i don't know if i don't think it was meteors they were moving pretty steadily i don't know if that was just a coincidence or if there are three satellites out there that are working as a trio that was weird and then i saw a satellite pass into the shadow of the earth and become invisible to me in front of my very eyes and that was really really cool i don't know why i guess this game got me thinking about that but uh that shit's really cool i love that like uh when i learned in school how like days happen you know and it's just the relative position of the sun to the earth i would uh it kind of like whacked my mind out because i was like you can tell you can sort of tell where the sun is at night like through the earth relative to you it just tripped me out when i was younger uh it could have been planes but i i like to think i could tell the difference between a plane and a satellite like the plane would have to be really high up to just appear it was just like little dots in the in the sky i also a while ago not to be sound like an ayla mao man uh because i personally i think there's probably alien life out there but i don't think they've like visited earth in secret exclusively i like that i don't know i don't really believe we've ever had alien contact i could be wrong but i did see a light in the sky that like curved at one point in a really like abrupt way and i was like bro what but it might have been like a drone or something that's also a possibility because i live in seattle a bunch of hipster around here flying their drones is there wind i keep lilting to the right for some reason i don't know why that is is there drift on my controller is there a wind that's the best one you can also just kind of spam jump up any slope that is not an recently too and i happened to see a couple of them while i was outside at one point i was like cool you guys hear my controller my like uh my triggers while i'm doing this i could press them really in this game the eyeballs being actual spheres is like intensely creepy to me you must be killed oh my god i grabbed it by the nose come with me oh never mind okay um i don't want to do that i don't think i can do that without the jump or right out the jet pack maybe i could i don't want to shrisk it [Music] this is brilliant how far up is the ship i think we can probably see it from here hold on oh okay what a diverse range of plant life wow and that water is just completely still it is like aspect it's like jello look where this is like some sonic 2 those trees are sonic as that's all i'm don't know if bigger bits of crystal give you more plant juice i don't know if that's a mechanic i kind of feel like it isn't but maybe okay yeah i'm not i'm not really an alamo believer didn't they they found like liquid mod water on mars though right didn't they something like that that's just pretty intense i think the general consensus right is that with how much how many planets there are in the universe it's like statistically incredibly likely and almost guaranteed that there is other life and maybe even civilized life on other planets but we may never actually see them it's a little sad what if one day like humanity just woke up and was like yeah let's just go be like total dicks to other species like we just developed space travel and we're like yeah let's be the bad guy aliens i mean don't we already have like a space militia force or whatever dumbass cartoon ass celebrity ass but that's more just to make some old boomers feel happy about themselves honestly like are they actually doing if we start like doing some call of duty ghost to other countries i'm failing not really but i'll be quite cross through that juice yeah slurp it up okay the is this oh look the leaf yo plant curves away before you get to that outer region so there's no crystals here but there must be something they wouldn't just have nothing out here maybe a crystal something that water or is that a like the walking animation is like unfinished but they just thought it was so like charming that they put it in the game anyway either that or their lazy nice you kind of automatically get on the back input on where the vines go every time the vine growing animation ends the like balls on the end of it kind of like even before they like turn green like that it's kind of weird um is there one dangling beneath yes okay i kind of don't even want to risk it because the leaf as good as it is the flower i guess i have the jet pack too now but the flower is better for like little corrections like a little cursory look around for them probably grow some more plants have a little bit of fun but i can't guarantee i'll find even one more of these uh am i moving forward at all not much let's cliff oh i think there's one in the roof in this room that was really kind of an ass to get actually right maybe not 30 crystals wait was that you don't get an upgrade there i guess at 40 oh right i see it's every 20 percent uh hey what's up with you bull hey stop that what are you doing his legs are randomly generated too the spinning butterflies in this okay i don't see any others in the cave i year like i usually put it off until the very very very very end to the last second and this year i was like you know what what if it's just like christmas just isn't stressful if you if you don't slack off on the presents until the very actual goddamn end and i think i think it's turning out that that is in fact the case like i'm already getting some good ideas and i can just order them on amazon when there's there's no time crunch and amazon isn't like totally overloaded with and stuff my mom always gets super ahead of the curve on christmas gifts and it's it's perhaps wise i'm not like the biggest christmas guy but my family's into it so it's good to be courteous in that regard sort of go along i'm not going to use the term humoring them because that's a little maybe condescending but maybe that idea is maybe in there a little bit i would never want to condescend my parents okay i got a lot of crystals there it was just a huge like string of them there's more oh my god i think like you can i remember you can like get out the flower drift for a little bit use your jet pack then drift on the flower just long enough for your jet pack to get charged up again then use your jet pack again and just sort of loop that and it's fairly effective for getting around vast distances with the flower once you've unlocked the jet pack also that these rocks are not stable yes anyone else vaguely reminded of uh the talking steel guitar whatever that whatever its creepy ass name was oh that rock just went right through the ground okay that thing that i showed on stream once i forget the name that it had it had some weird cutesy name damn it i got japed i got hardcore shaped gotta avoid these other loose rocks nice grab it [Music] wait okay i guess that works it was really going for if that was just a nice ergonomic style for an indie game i think even though ubisoft has their name on this this is this is considered an indie game it's got a pretty small team as just drop down you know this planet we've already checked quite a few times i think this is the curly mushroom planet i i swear this planet is like rotating slightly or something because the mushroom is now totally displaced um okay maybe whenever i reload the area there's like slight rng on it or something on how the mushrooms are placed i don't know not really seeing anything here i feel like they'd be easier to see at night because they glow right the seeds glow in fact what's all that down there what's all this then just crystals crystals and other teleports let's try going up one getting a bunch of stuff you know well it is daytime oh maybe one's out here this seems like a place where some it might be try to get a peek before oh sad i kind of camera kind of clipped into the can like reasonably platform to the teleporter with like holding there's a crystal over there that was a crystal i passed way earlier oh look that's like i get a little crystal meter i see i didn't even notice that was that happened that must have been happening before i just picked up on that i imagine this is like all fun and games to 100 until you get to like the last 10 crystals you know so i'm glad they put some kind of thing in there i keep god there's just crystals everywhere stop it i'm looking for seed actually i got off track there i was gonna go check out on that little i hear more crystals though oh wait what is that a thing oh excuse you who are you little worms okay cool i like them no seed in here but you know okay was that wasn't a way to go down there was it no oh oh wait what the this is a way to go down what the i'm glad i checked this what the hell oh we're in here now wow okay cool um still no closer to finding that seed unfortunately i require seed want that crystal nice i wasn't just mashing jump trying to bounce off that leaf you didn't see anything oh what that leaf didn't bounce me it's just fun the more vines you plant the more you get to do this basically you know it just feels good to travel like that i don't suppose there's any seeds here are there i might end up looking up the last one we'll see not quite there yet i still didn't actually distracted by that actually you very well can and in fact i have many times hold on out there whenever there's like an island that's sort of out on its own uh i feel like it's not up here but i just want to check i saw a plant bobble up there but i think it was just from one of the plants that i grew what's that okay there's a lot of things to like check though there's a lot of different zones could contain seed radar or my my uh i wish i had seed radar my crystal radar is going nuts going haywire tell me that's got like just nothing on it though what's up with this let me out god damn it well we are still no closer to me checking that one area that kind of looked like it had it i'm just gonna make a b line for it hold on tug did i ever go down that island that's got a uh crystal on it i don't see a seed but maybe we're not getting distracted this time no sir seed uh i see a crystal out there there's probably several crystals in this zone huh who's that oh it glimpsed a plant through there dream to dream of times gone by or whatever i'm not french okay well we got this anybody anybody see any seed morphine i don't see it anywhere honestly [Music] i'm wondering if they even glow at night hard to say i see crystal in the distance nothing else hmm let's go get that it it might lead us to victory or it might lead us to sadness i think my next plan is just check islands that i have not connected to at all so i think there was there was one on an island like that right i'm pretty sure i'm i'm like i don't even see where the crystal is anymore this thing just like grow in front of my eyes or it was that uh seemed like before the light even hit it it like grew into place oh i see i see you crystal i see you nice nice wobbly rock technology wobble my okay well i am no closer i think people are saying check out the cave but i if i'm not mistaken that is the very cave that i did check out right that was the one that collapsed and it led into the other cave i'm pretty sure um down there on that little ledge [Music] burger you said burger um must be out on here yep we are just slam dunk in all these crystals where's the next one bring me another quest crystal i'll eat them all nice and multiple around here oh look the carrot finally came out what all i had to do was just run into it makes a disgusting squishing sound okay i guess that's it i thought i heard more crystalline i did get the one on the cactus at teleporter too i did okay hmm yeah i'm coming pretty close to googling it i think we might have it like investigators on the case too i don't know like how about this one did i i feel like i didn't check this one super hardcore maybe i did actually morphine [Music] okay this zone i feel like there was one around here or maybe even two i don't know but i feel like this checkpoint i have not scoped out to its full potential i don't know be down there oh wait no that's just a little pumpkin i thought i saw it there the seed let's go into this cave i guess don't know if i've done this one i see another crystal down there yeah i think this is oh no wait this is different new cave gosh it's so beautiful so breathtaking the polygons nice rocket pack complete aerial mobility nice so that does that mean there is actually another power up damn i thought just all the remaining power-ups were jetpack increasage so does it mean like i don't have to worry about fuel anymore is that what's going on no i do let's go get that one yeehaw let's tear it out of there oh is this a thing that like shoots you upward look it's balancing one of those it's just a little floaty thing i think nice very nice 100 is infinite jet pack oh my god that's like after there's no point to playing the game anymore unfortunately that's the classic like 100 gambit i think psychonauts 2 has kind of a similar thing where it it's like your your moves will no longer be limited by cooldowns once you reach like level 100 or something like that well we are just will probably play the sequel at some point but it's a good game there's a lot of bang for your buck with this i think actually i don't know how much this game cost but it can't be a lot and uh it's got a nice solid brief campaign and then uh some really nice post game content keep keep you interested and just look how beautiful it is [Music] right sheep somewhere beyond the sea there's sheep everywhere corpses litter the ocean oh wait it's still kicking it just yeeted my corpse my body parts are flying all over the place yo ninja in fortnite nice well cool game eight dollar game apparently and yeah i mean if you if you had infinite patience you could just make all these vines grow forever and just get a get a good old knot going i imagine that'd be quite fun on its own but i think i've had my fun i know there's a crystal within sensor range of me but i'm i'm getting out of here so i haven't quit also i like the little unicode bud in the corner actually hold on i see it on my meter oh there it is target acquired target acquired damn spinning butterflies there's another one down there too are you ready folks are you ready i did it it's over we can all rest easy orange art for this game they grew so many plants uh but i don't think you can expect the sequel anytime super soon but uh at some point in the future it probably won't be a speed run because i expect it's uh significantly longer but i don't know just how to see delicious drinking water okay folks uh there's a possibility there will be a stream later today but i kind of doubt it uh it could be like i don't know isaac psychonauts or something whatever i'm on now so i gotta do reviews still gotta do jojo podcast i've been saying that for years so whatever but thanks for watching guys game's cool
