That is amazing.
Guy flying here. You can also use this setup in Xplane 10 (using Nthusim), FSX, and DCS (using VorpX). DCS is extra cool as the cockpit is fully functional in the game with the mouse, so in theory I can hop into a real Mustang now and fire it up since I know the sequence AND the actual control locations (as opposed to things mapped to a Saitek panel, etc).
VR will be big in this type of thing (flying, racing, vehicle based anything really). It works so well!
that looks fun as hell.
I assumed War Thunder was stereoscopic since it had native rift support. I never really gave war thunder much of a chance with the rift since my flight stick is a microsoft swinder from like 10 years ago, but my short experience left me with a sub par feeling. I'm wondering how much of a difference running with tridef made for you? Any details would be appreciated.
Very nice setup, seems to be very immersive! I haven't been a great fan of simulator type of games but the Rift is just a perfect fit for these (cockpit based) applications. Consumer version will be a very good alternative to a full blown simpit if you match the position of your basic controls (hotas, rudder).
As soon as I can get a set up going where I can pilot an X-Wing in space with full set up like this with pedals and everything I am going to be spending a lot of money that I don't have.
Yep, this is what I have been waiting for. I'm still waiting for the 1080p OR and the new IL2 Sturmovik before I cop though.
So tridef is needed for stereoscopic 3d here?
Rift support issues aside, War Thunder is a beautiful game!
Combine that with this, and we're talking a big nerdgasm.
