i'm an old-school flight simmer i've actually played all of them like all the way back to when there was just basically wire art and then when you crashed it was like anyway um the last flight sim title that we had was like way back in the early 2000s i remember the exact date i want to say 2004 or five but phil can put the correct number here if i'm wrong um or even if i'm right i guess still put it down there because you know emphasis on how long it's been since we've had a title now we've we're pretty much convinced flight simulator and microsoft was dead they stopped carrying and all the add-ons and stuff for flight sim 10 or fsx was great but the graphical quality was still lackluster now we learned about flight sim 2020 what last year i think it was and we were all super excited about it and today is the day it's finally launched but it's kind of like crisis flight sim has always been extremely difficult to run which is why origen has sponsored this video to bring out the big guns and the big boxes apparently this thing's heavy it's almost 100 pounds that's weight in american units not dollars that's a really cheap computer it's only 100 so if you ever needed any convincing as to why they ship them in these crates that's a footprint that happened in shipping at some point so anyway genuine ups care right there uh anyway creating is an option with origin pc [Music] so anyway we are gonna unbox this bad boy everyone talks about how crisis was the will it run crisis screw that it's will it run flight sim because the amount of world data and the amount of things happening and ai traffic and all of that were just way ahead of their time and one of the things that microsoft is kind of notorious for is building their maximum settings into the future what i mean by that is not really intended to be able to run it at maximum settings today it's kind of a reward when they do that and that when you upgrade your system in the future because the technology gets better and faster you can turn up the settings and you kind of get more for your out of your game that way anyone that's watching this right now that has played the original flight sim or any of them in the past knows microsoft has always built that particular piece of software it's not a game and i think that's first and foremost the problem people or the mistake people make when they talk about flight sim it's not a game you don't play it it is a real simulator and this time around the amount of topography topography topographical data you can literally fly to your exact house and see it because it's not like flight sim 10 or fsx where they just took like the same bit of mesh and then just tiled it and they're like oh this is urban area and they reuse the urban mesh a whole bunch of places and they're like this is rural these went to the tree mesh the amount of 3d correct data is insane of course it uses real-time weather data traffic information when you see an airplane flying as long as it's not another player and it's like a ai plane that's a real plane flying in that spot right now probably within a minute or so i don't know how how real time it is because it's using actual air traffic control data to do the ai i'm excited i'm excited we phil and i are flight sim nerds we've been waiting for this for a long time we once they showed it at what e3 last year and such we were super excited about it and i'm just sort of wasting time to try to figure out how to get this out of this box [Music] i could do this hold on oh it's probably screwed on the bottom [Applause] everything is pokey easy so now that that was very easily simply and quickly and non-messily unboxed um they give you this really nice kind of a one sheet showing you the order of how to take it apart how to set it up and all that but we do computers around here so we don't need that so what have we got in here this is origin pc's millennium built for today's millennial yeah it's got the nice protective padding so it survived ups that says a lot right there when i open this up and i take the cover off you guys will recognize the case i'm sure it's it's all over their marketing materials this boy is kind of warm not warm heavy what it's warm today okay it's like today is supposed to be like one of the hottest days on record dude this is awesome it's got this elastic band around the bottom instead of a little pull string look at that so you can use it as a condom who cares about the condom oh yeah i know the the material said that it was custom etched for flights okay this is cool that smile on jay was the smile i see when he takes a product home after after the video and i rarely do that anymore so on this side the glass is etched you know flight simulator and this is actual etched glass it's not a stick or anything like that so you can actually feel like where it's all rough from the etching material this comes off to give you access to your top fans whoa i wonder if these are custom stickers they have made for their for their systems here i know it's really hard for you to see a bear fill but let's check this out they've got these little brushed aluminum center pieces for the fans i love that more companies are doing this now with the uh the custom 3d um painting like this like this is actually done with a machine so they lay the glass down they have the picture kind of loaded into the printer and then it just like literally paints it on here and that that stuff is on the inside so it's not going to scratch off so let's go ahead and take a complete tour around this system take a look at the build quality and then we'll talk about the recommended specs and all that sort of stuff one of the things that catches my attention like right away with the millennium here is the fact that it's got this fan right here to pull air through the hard drives now typically if you filled this out with as many hard drives as you could this whole front section can be hard drives so you could use this for like a home server plex servers crazy stuff you haven't we could be using this as our server as well because it holds as many drives as we've got in our fractal design case over there but it's got this fan right here that actually pulls air through because when you put in all those drives you may basically make a solid wall of hard drives and air doesn't pull through very good and any fans you have on the front have to push through all that so at least that's a helper fan to pull it back through so you might notice too it's got all the sata plugs on there and even some dit switch dip dip switches dip switches because if you look right here we open up the front this is what the keys were for this is actually so that you can lock your hard drives so you can see all of your hot swap drives hot swap drives go in here vertically so this is just a three and a half inch hitachi drive nothing special but as you can see put it back till it hits a little stopper put that forward you've now installed a hard drive so you do have lighting on the front right here it kind of picks up light from right here and then it shines down through this plexi this is a brushed metal on the front so it's one thing that's going to kind of suck is when you touch it it does that but you know once you get it clean and stop touching it it won't do all that ew ew okay that's all the wood that's still in my hands on the front right here this is where your front i o is your power button um headphone jack usbc 2 usb 3.0 reset and power um oh so you can actually just turn the leds off with that one button so you can quickly make it dark mode if you come around here to the back let's see how the back of the case looks look at that cable edge i know where are all the wires there's got to be more wires than that i've never seen corsair's like little controller look so good man why you guys gotta do this to me look even the molex look how nice the molex is wow those cables are really in there where'd this go this this fell out from here i'm wondering where oh okay i see where this goes so you don't accidentally short anything on the back of your motherboard so you got this little guy that goes in here look at that nice and clean so to access the the power supply area you take this tray out it has four screws on it and there's your cable mess right there so what i was kind of curious about here was actually the setup for the um the cooling i guess because it looks like the only fans that we actually have in here are the top which are the top three 120 fans i showed you a second ago which are so this is a purely negative pressure case it's one of those things you want to keep in mind dust build up you'll probably want to keep it you know nice and clean as much as you can because this is about optimized airflow rather than being optimized you know cool or cleanliness if you will but check this out i haven't even seen this before look at this this is an integrated reservoir pump so we've got the corsair pump or pump rest combo the corsair block and then we have a corsair right up here which is obviously a 360 rad and it's only cooling the cpu so it's plenty you could add another 120 fan on the bottom as an intake if you wanted and then you still have room to add another fan in the front right here and then you have a five and a quarter expansion bay so that's been a tour around the chassis let's go ahead and put it back together clean my fingerprints off the front all right so let's talk about the specs here real quick so the millennium is clearly uh just smashing the require the recommended it's funny this might be the first time where recommended and ideal are worth mentioning together because they don't even show like um like truly a minimum although there is a minimum let's just say you're probably not going to play this play you're not going to simulate this very well on minimum so the recommended is a 1 500 x amd or an i5 8400 ideal is a 2700x or an i7 90 9800 x 9800 x is an x299 cpu by the way if you're not aware so we have a ryzen 9 3950x in here graphics it recommends an rx 590 or a gtx 970 yeah trust me when i say you're going to want higher than that it's ideal as a radeon 7 or an rtx 2080. vram it's recommended to have four gigs it's ideal to have eight gigs obviously we have 11 gigs with the 2080 ti 16 gigabytes of ddr4 is recommended 32 gigabytes is ideal this might be the first title i've seen actually recommend 32 gigabytes or at least i say ideal as 32 gigs 150 gigabytes of storage and that's to start who knows how big that will get over time and then it says on here ideal is to have that on an ssd again for the reason i just mentioned pop in loading textures and all that sort of stuff the faster it can load that data the less jarring stutter and pop in you're going to have at the title and then you need to have the windows 10 november 2019 update which is 1909. oh man and then obviously we not only have just smashed all those specs we got it on water cooling as well can't wait fire this bad boy up and get to flying so this is actually pretty cool they they use the corsair iq lighting to make it look like sky and clouds which kind of comes over and look js210 owns a 747 now i didn't know that cool um all right so time to download this bad boy 95 gigs [Music] a large stuffed crust um extra pepperoni [Music] okay okay it's done what time is it three hours all right continue okay do we just go with sure i'll go with ultra because i want to see what the worst case scenario is going to be that's the way that's why we benchmark everything with ultra settings we show you the worst case scenario ultra satellite data streaming no world streaming oh cool so if you don't have a super fast connection you don't have to have the real world streaming data like i said for real weather real traffic um real time time seasons all that sort of stuff but we'll do streaming because we have a gigabit internet here so that should work data cap no i don't have a data cap uh hey look at that it recognized my yoke so it knows which one i already have here which means they should be map apply and save i don't have my rudder pedals because they broke because logitech quality [Applause] i don't know why my stuff keeps breaking i'm flying like ryanair all right rotate pull up slowly what did i oh a lot of people don't notice about me i used to belong to the faa or the eaa sorry the ea the experimental aircraft association it's a fly all the time i was actually when i was younger i was training for my private pilot's license but ran out of money let's do a little stall practice here at only 200 feet let's see if jay can survive it oh we're starting we're starting to turn 50 knots that it's still there we go oh dude it's so easy to get out of the stall on this thing nose down they're yelling at me yeah that was so easy even at 1200 feet see if we can't get a little roll going here that's so easy to survive don't do this in a cessna people so that plane's really there right now really coming off the runway yeah sup guys [Laughter] see when you get down low to the ground it doesn't look great because it's creating a 3d image off a 2d image but it's good enough for me up in the sky once you're like 1000 feet and above it looks absolutely fantastic phil wants to see if i can stall recover now in a fully loaded 747 so i'm fairly certain it's full fuel and it's fuel payload based on people and all that ah that'd be so cool if they actually like modeled the screaming look at all that detail man looks just like vegas from the sky if you've ever seen it just dirt oh now we're stalling all right we're stalled now imagine what that would feel like dude it's already recovered well actually maybe not dude i'm sure there's a real pilot somewhere that follows me it can't recover this easy that's what happens when you hold the yoga that wasn't your buffet that was all of your passengers falling to one side of the plane well can we land up 747 on the 15 freeway there's no way this would work in real life is that an overpass [Music] that's my first thought no we can clear we can clear this are you going i think i'm tail dragging right now oh god all right so we figured we'd give you guys some actual data instead of just jay going i can fly airplane and as you can see here we've got our fps showing now um gpu percentage usage and gpu temperatures i do have it limited to 60 fps because what reigns supreme in fsx more than any other game is frame consistency 60 fps at a consistent interval will give you a much nicer flying experience than unlocking it and letting it fluctuate all over the place heck 45 fps locked would be a better experience than letting it fluctuate all over the place trust me when i say this isn't counter-strike guys you can get away with lower than 60 fps so while we are waiting for this to load i will say that the air coming out the top is definitely toasty the exhaust fans are doing their job and considering the fact that this is only negative pressure i'm kind of surprised um when i opened up the side panel right here to sort of feel how temps were doing i was a little concerned about this being negative pressure only but when i feel around like in the chassis i don't feel like this huge pocket of hot air you definitely feel the warmth up here because you have the radiator plus the heat from the gpu going through it but it's definitely getting the job done like i don't feel like i need to open the side panel shut up i don't feel like i need to open the side panel or anything to let it cool off cleared for takeoff runway one six left pitch x-ray golf swing clear for takeoff runway something he said let's go oh it's going to take off and roll dude it took off without even like doing it oh god it's going straight up let's trim this hey look mount rainier is out you can see mountain rainier over there that's how you know it's a clear day in the pacific northwest i wonder if they can actually see it today ah it over rotated okay so we're getting 40 fps in here and you know what's funny about that it didn't feel like it was that low let's try it see if i can just do one barrel one roll it's not barrel roll it's just a roll aileron roll nope it's hard to stop it it's so hard for the yolk now okay 30 fps i can hear you guys all screaming at your monitor right now j you're not a true pc enthusiast 30 fps your pc mastery yes shut up 30 fps is perfectly fine for this but what we're gonna do right now is we're gonna aim to get it higher so we'll go to high end right there and see what happens the worst fps you're gonna get is on the ground so let's see if we can fine tune this right now on the ground so so far nothing has changed our fps on the ground now one of the things that really affected fps on the ground before was all the ai traffic planes little vehicles on the roadway vehicles in the airport so we just gained 12 fps but i don't know about you see all the planes are gone now i need other traffic to feel like i'm actually interacting with the world you know so it looks like we're definitely dealing with a bit of a engine limitation here because check this out we're not seeing any fps changes really no matter what we change look at our cpu our overall usage is at 16 percent 3950x mind you lots of threads our gpu usage is at 50 so we go back to maximum yeah because if you can't get your frames make them look pretty right exactly but here's the thing i'm truly surprised and i and i know people are just going to automatically be like just showing i was not paid to talk about flight sim 20 or any of that we were sent the computer by origin to do a video about this system their their fs uh 2020 system aimed towards like the enthusiast for flight sim but i can tell you right now like if i didn't have the fps counter up i wouldn't have realized it was as low as it is i thought for sure i was getting 60 fps we will get 60 fps in the future as hardware increases and so does hopefully the engine maturity but all right i mean maybe i'm just an fsx or an fsx at flights of 2020 shill because i honestly feel like i can have a lot of fun with this even at this fps that plane is really landing there right now so i figured the next area that will fly over here just to kind of do a little visual tour is an area that you can't actually fly over in real life it has got a i can't remember exactly how they did it but they managed to finagle themselves a permanent no-fly zone so one thing i'll point out too is the fps definitely matters based on the city that you're in seattle was like much lower i was in the inland empire a minute ago which was like almost 60 fps and now that we're in anaheim where it's as dense it is as it is with buildings and such it affects the fps but i'm just going to say this again this is absolutely positively doable at this fps we're at 45 fps and i don't feel like it's a problem at all so we're flying over the magic kingdom which has a permanent no-fly zone over it right now and it's kind of been the case forever there's space mountain there's the matterhorn like it's still kind of loading in the textures a little bit there's fantasyland that's that oh there's the toontown right there california adventure there's the california grand hotel we stayed in a room like right there once that's soaring over cal or someone over the world right there look at the water so your sword over sword over the world yeah look at this time of day oh dude it doesn't live like live fall the way the lights come out on the ground watch watch what is outside look like that looks so real what's cool is you can actually tell the lights it's just a pattern of like a grid of lights hovering on the ground but they're not attached to any poles or anything and you can see yeah they're not they're not they're not at ground level which is a bit more realistic too so i actually flew to one of the most important places around in our area this is our micro center intestine micro center all right well there you go guys we're gonna go ahead and end this video i'm gonna tell you right now this millennium system from origin pc is having no problems whatsoever giving us a good flying experience sure the fps might not be exactly what gamers are expecting it to be but i think those people that are excited for flight sim 2020 who've had any sort of flight sim experience know exactly how good this is actually doing so if you guys want to learn more about the millennium system check the link in the description below you guys will find a link to where you can check out uh the availabilities the options the way you can spec it out and uh obviously this one's got the custom etching and stuff on there with the nice flight sim livery on the side it's as gorgeous as the game itself it's only stay about a thousand feet up because once you get real close to the ground then it it's kind of like when you turn on the 3d view on google maps it gets all like looking so anyway i'm now flying around in the landing pattern again for santa ana or john wayne airport i should probably get out of here which means you guys should also get out of here and go and check out origin pc and fight sim 2020. thanks for watching guys and as always we'll see you on the next one you know could you imagine if you're flying so you know over here just when we came this way you know we were like so where are you all from it's all flipping over
