Full Presentation Vespa Ripper Original design OTF Automatic knife

hello again everybody out there in YouTube land purple EDC back again with another knife review this time I am thrilled to bring you these two new additions in the vespa lineup and as you can clearly see this is a clone of nothing this is Vespas first all original design and into the at least into the OTF market and i've got to say man they nailed it they nailed it I kind of hit at a loss for words because I've had a lot of knives I've had a lot of out the front knives and you know I've had everything from the top of the line to the bottom of the barrel and everything in between and what this really what we have before us is in my opinion the perfect EDC out the front automatic no funky glass breakers no weird you know little gimmicky gadgets it's just a really really great double action out the front with good style good blade steel amazing action fit and finish without further ado this is the vespa Ripper now I'll start off with I mean I can't say it's my least favorite because I love both of them but this one is the blade style that I had most people asking questions about did you hear that snap look at that blade grind now this tanto is not my favorite tanto it's just I I kind of liked on toes that are a little bit more angled at the end this one kind of looks a little blunt but in the hand it's a lot more appealing than in pictures now you've got a blade that's a like three and a half inches of bohler m390 and I don't know if you're picking that up like I'm picking that up but yeah that is a hollow grind CNC aluminum handle 3d machine pocket clip marbled carbon-fiber inlays on both sides and I don't know if I hope I can pick it up look at that hardware I've never seen that on any other knife unique proprietary hardware that looks insane and so it's almost like a turbine I love that and instead of some goofy glass breaker you could take your handle slabs apart and put a lanyard on there these things really really fit in the pocket nice the action is superb the the there is no wiggle to these sliders at all there's no spring under there everything is held together just by tolerances it's absolutely amazing the feeling and the action it just hits with authority snaps back oh you know when I first pulled it out of the pouch I was really really impressed just by the way it feels and then the slider or actuator whatever you want to would like to call it that is CNC machine TC for titanium with a tritium vial insert now I did test the brightness of the tritium not super bright but it is visible and you know if it didn't work at all I guess I would call that gimmicky but it does work and I'm not really an expert on tritium I do not know exactly how well they are supposed to glow beautiful beautiful knives this one though this one's my favorite black blade grind this one as you can see is in this beautiful jade green it's got the same CNC machined titanium actuator but where that one was green I think this one was silver so that the oh well there is some green to it isn't there 3d machine pocket clip with that awesome turbine wheel screw that secures it to the handle that's my favorite blade grind right there I have fired these in and out multiple times I have not had any misfires now just for a size comparison because I know people are going to want to know there is the current combat Troodon clone and as you can see handle the handle there the the combat is a much bigger knife but here's what's interesting you're really not sacrificing that much in blade length but you are getting a much much more I mean the combats not even in full frame put that blade to blade though this one looks a lot smaller because it's set farther back but let's take a measurement about three and a half inches on the blade length dad just at eight inches overall whereas the combat is like three and three quarters like you get an more like a quarter of an inch longer blade but then with the glass breaker you're almost at nine and a half inches which if you to me it almost makes it look kind of weird a lot more handle than you got blade this just very very easy to keep in the pocket and it it just feels really good in the hand the action is amazing I'm really really really impressed with Vespas first introduction into their own design let's get this out of here No as you guys have come to expect from Vespa you get the embroidered pouch the cloth and did my tool fall out I don't leave my tool fell out here it is let's see if we could take that out of the bag so you can see the end of that tool a little bit better and how it's going to interface with the screws very unique I really really like it and I like these smaller tools I don't like the real huge ones I mean those are cool to get a good purchase on but I mean if I really need the torque down which you really shouldn't anyway you can always put an allen key or some smaller screwdriver in there if you want to get a little bit extra torque on there but honestly I would get some vc3 from vibra tight and use that for your screws and you don't have to crank them down hard at all and those will keep you from backing out pretty cool tool you do get an extra spring so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's a single spring firing mechanism but it it's got plenty of power man and like I said the feel of it is just amazing it really really is Vespa logo laser etched onto the blade grain and I am just so so glad that they went with a hollow grind when you have that compound grind at the front I mean that's what really sets off that look is when you have it followed by a nice hollow grind going down the length of the blade this one to me is just super super classy and it's I can already tell this is going to be my new EDC I mean right in the hand I mean it's not a small knife it looks like a small knife and it feels like a small knife in the pocket but it's really just perfect now let me see I think I have an ultra tech I can put up against it so you guys can get a better size comparison with that yeah I got two of in fact this is a newer Ultratech and this is one of the older ones so if you look handle the handle you're right at about the same size as a new ultra tech with the glass breaker but without one size comparison to the original Ultratech slightly larger but not by much but I think it looks a heck of a lot cooler get rid of those it's not what this video is about I mean I really don't know what more you could ask for you know in and out the front I would love to see if they could do some type of magic and do interesting double edged with these because I always love myself a good double edge but I mean I think the choice of appointments the choice of colors the type of carbon fiber they used the blade steel the the choice to do hollow grinds as opposed to the flat grinds now here's listen to that that's where the big difference between these two line this one listen to this doesn't sound bad I mean I love it I mean it's got an amazing action I really really love this knife I really do but this one with the extra mass in the blade and that extra weight I mean I can kind of see why they call that thing the Ripper because they hit rips in and out and I really do like the fuller go on the full length of the blade I think it really does this blade style some justice and as much as I'm usually liking a more angular tanto tip that really is growing on me now I don't like to quote prices anymore right in the videos because prices fluctuate and it can change if you order more than one you know you can sometimes buy these and you know you get a price between one and three and then if you buy five to six and so on and sometimes they do sales and I dunno what the price is at this moment and I'm going to put that down in the description below but if that changes or fluctuates at any point I don't want somebody to come and say hey man you told me it was this much you know it's this much well that's why I don't do that anymore so price will be down in the description below I am really really over the moon for these new additions and I think for it being their first foray into their own design for an out the front automatic I think they nailed it out of the park and I really prefer it to all the other knives that I have and I'm really gonna be interested to take these apart and see what makes them tick on the inside because I really really like the fact that you know there's no rattle at all blade Plantin ease is very exceptional I mean always test it down here never test if you doubt it up here again because your blade length can vary and the longer your blade is the more extreme it's going to feel the further out you go so always test down here and there's barely any wiggle man for it to back side to side God that thing that's beast mode right there tell them old Saint beast mode I don't know are the kids still saying that I doubt it they probably got some new words they made up this week really good edge huh I like a toothy edge now they're not polished but they're toothy and they bite I really like an edge like that something that can cut cardboard I'm not really one of these guys that is gonna you know bust out foam you know phonebook paper and see how thin we in slice phonebook paper I'd rather test the knife on something that I'm actually going to use it for but I don't know guys if you are on the fence about these I would seriously suggest picking one up because the comments they're awesome I mean there's no denying that that is an awesome knife but it's big and it draws attention now if you're one of those guys who like big knives and like drawing attention when you pull them out your pocket awesome buy them buy two of them double fist them if you want I am kind of getting into that to that point in my life where I'm getting a little bit older and I still want to have my fun but I would like something that's a little bit more pocket-friendly and something that I can just pull out discreetly get the job done and put it away and have it not really be all that intimidating and that really looks classy to me but not intimidating and I can't remember I think the only other out the front knife that I've had with a 3d machine pocket clip on it was the deadlock the carbon fiber is really really beautiful too no gaps
