Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
I'm going to admit, I was hoping that when Yandere-chan said she'd get the girl's Dad out of debt, it would cut to a cutscene if her just walking into the loan shark building and just massacring everyone.
I sort of just want a highschool girl Hitman game.
Is it just me, or is Yandere-Chan is very... Commander Shepard-y at 3:42?
Crazy how giving these characters more depth will make you feel like a weirdo & creepo when you start to go Full Yandere.
The fact that his videos now rake in literally millions of views is so bizarre to me. The anime fandom seems to be loving this game.
Calling it now, it involves blackmail or sociopathic boys that will cause the rival to never trust any boy ever again.
This was definitely the most thought-provoking video YandareDev has released in a while. We finally got a glimpse of character development. I really like the idea of each character in the school being fleshed out. Suddenly, there's actual weight to their lives.
I'm taking this video (and game) with a grain of salt for a few reasons:
As much fun as this game's public development is, I can't shake the feeling that it'll end up being a poor man's hybrid of Hitman and Bully. If anyone's more optimistic, please convince me.
For me, the best part of this update is that the dev has showed that he can implement some nice foreshadowing.
When the quest system was implemented in order to test it, you could only do one: help a girl find her missing bra. Such a weird quest as the bra was pretty much in middle of nowhere, and now we actually got an explanation! I though that quest would be removed eventually but it seems it actually has a place in the game and you're rewarded and answer if you follow this route.
Maybe fans that have followed the development knew this beforehand, but for me it was amazing.
While I don't think every student will be fleshed out, that at least the rivals and their friends will be is very nice. Makes you care more about them and makes your choices more meaningful. It would be specially interesting if Ronshaku girl changes the story whether you leave her bubbly or make her meek later on. That would be amazing.
I'm kinda confused about something in this game, why can't you just ask Sempai out yourself?
Every Friday a different girl will ask him out, and unless you kill her or something Sempai will date her. You never spend any time stalking Sempai and playing him like a dating sim. He doesn't seem hard to pick up, honestly. What gives?
I just wanna know how the game intends to teach the player about all of these mechanics it's trying to juggle.
