Ford 8N Tractor Restoration

[Music] [Applause] do [Music] oh yeah check that out anger down it's a nice big half inch plate there had to add one spacer underneath which is the exact same plate i just stacked it up instead of drilling it i just cut it out 4x4 i think it's 3 16. piece of tubing on top we'll get that all welded up paint it up hmm [Music] [Music] them up oh we're pulling the tips off pamela anderson at the local trailer [Music] [Music] they look like that one kid that you saw in the locker room you know it was like what happened to your dick like did you slam it in like a sliding van door wham you know because he had some length to him you know you were jealous don't get yourself but it was like weird so yeah brand new tires uh run over pedestrians if needed do a bit of tillage is the most likely let's go check out the inside all right so we've got all the hard parts mounted i actually have the hood and fenders if you we call them the side side skirts or whatever the size of the hood the grille which uh i just use the one that came on the tractor which the sandblaster guy pointed out looks like it's part of a refrigerator so if you buy this tractor you might want to acquire a different grill i think it looks okay but not gonna win all the shows i expected apparently uh new battery tray the old one was rotted out there's some plywood involved new battery tray again the sd tracker pickup uh brand new battery the i think it's maybe meant to have a taller battery in it this is the one i got so i just ended up using a bunch of card work perfect i like that anyways because the metal bracket came all the way around and your battery leads could be touching it pretty easily so i like the rubber strap got it both been washed on it looks nice down here i don't think it looks too uh jerry-rigged brand new 12-volt solenoid starter solenoid brand new cable brand new cable this kit the battery tray kit came with a new cable uh it ended up being too short due to how i mounted this so we just got a new one we were you know we're in a little bit of a hurry here we're trying to get this done so i didn't go with the red cable i just got the black cable nice heavy one um red tape on it or something so it's pretty obvious but unless you're total you should be able to read plus and minus automatic uh we got a new key switch here i haven't done any wiring as you can see but this is all brand new 12 volt key switch and so you'll start it off the switch too from the factory it has a push button like a dimmer switch on a floor down here for the transmission which is a safety feature so that you don't try and start the tractor well it's uh in gear oh well we're going to get rid of that go to the switch i also installed here because there's a hole in the dashboard and if it's perfect the power shut off bam batteries on batteries off it's not like it's got a computer it doesn't need memory so you park the tractor here battery is not going to go down as long as the battery's not shipped and we hook that up to the negative side of the battery i prefer to do that versus the positive that way just the way that does it maybe that's the way you're supposed to do it that's what we have as long as you're shutting off one half of the battery it should be gold installing a fuse block here this is just a four fuse holder honestly we have an alternator points and we're not going to pull theater the electronic ignition and some headlights and the coil will be four wires that we need to run now which included ground i do believe they're all grounded through the body of the unit so realistically i've got four power wires and the headlights the headlights have a ground we're gonna run that ground all the way back to the battery instead of trying to ground it through the hood it's just gonna i think that makes more sense you'll probably actually make um connectors for that so that you can disconnect the hook without having to cut wires you just unplug it so it'll all be on one original starter it works really well uh after i got all this set up i just uh like powered to the s pulse sphere or the starter post or whatever and just wheels over real nice so we just got to get that set up so it's just uh just a little bit of wiring we'll run the uh i do believe you can wire this this is a hand ph it's just this aftermarket summit one summit brand or whatever so we'll run this through the charging system so we know bolts were running there so you can tell whether your rig's charging or not oil pressure bolts when runs stops running it's probably out of gas so another operator we've made is in the seating compartment we got rid of the old uh spring bar you know it's just a curved piece of spring steel with a flat plate we got a cushion seat on here and it's actually adjustable from 60 kilograms up to 120 kilograms so if you live in a country that's landed on the moon reusable joe ah you'll have to do the conversion on that i'll try to put that uh right here anyways i built this roll bar we got a nice heavy four by four steel on the side nice heavy piece of well casing i do believe on top is what i use just a big piece of pipe captain i actually ended up just cutting the ends and around the circle to make it fit but so this is all one piece nice heavy plate where an anchor's down at the bottom here so you say flip this thing over hopefully you got a better chance to make it 5.00 they're three rib um they install really nice inflated really nice and uh they're gonna give somebody some serious service time so everything ships in this guy here uh nice stiff uh board or uh cardboard or real heavy paper whatever you want to call it instructions on how to put them on where they go big ford sticker for the fenders big ford sticker for the hood or smaller for the hood all your warning labels uh potentiometer which is like a when i was reading this on amazon the reviews people were saying that it didn't come with that sticker i'm wondering if that was a mistake or not potentiometer but the proof meter sticker uh i wonder if somebody just had a bad shipment or what but it looked like a couple people said it but mine came with it and i also got the hood emblem separate i think the hood emblem was like 22 bucks the sticker kit was like 20 some bucks i don't remember right off hand so let's get them stuck all right sticker i like to give it a nice light wipe with acetone just to make sure all the oils and stuff are off you don't want to go too hard and start taking some paint off you really give it to her [Music] do [Music] so [Music] it's going to wrap up the old shredder project for me here uh the list is as long as uh my friend chris is johnson it is uh it is staggering it's it's beautiful no homo but i'm just saying um this thing turned out great uh i like it it runs good stops good the list of like i said the things we did start at the front here everything first of all the whole tractor sandblasted painted primer paint in it uh who've got a little bit of body work it's not great you know it's a it's a good saw but uh it could have been mirror straight but not by this guy uh i know about enough to get myself in trouble you know make it uh look half ass decent i know a private decent so that we don't have mondo falling off but uh there's a little bit of filler work to be done here and there but not a whole lot we gotta we got it as straight as we could uh new headlights these are led headlights uh we got a new radiator new emblems new belt new 12-volt everything wiring solenoids the whole nine random wiring from scratch with nice heavy wire it also has new tires in the front new tubes in the front the rear tires are in great shape and they're good here so they're a good brand of tire and there's new tubes in those the rims are brand new on those as well everything's been sandblasted and painted there new seat and we opted for a modern seat um i still have the old one so whoever buys this if they feel they need to go back to feeling like it's 1948 they are welcome to do so i built a wrap system for it nice heavy roller protection you see all new badging and everything it runs great the carburetor on it's newer the fuel tank sandblasted painted we also have we did a fluid service on it so that's good we put a couple hours on since then so it's not brand new service but just tooling around um yeah it's a good running machine hardware is new on it we weren't using 60 year old bolts we've got gradient stuff where we could yeah things i would change are steering wheel steering wheel is not great it works there are other options i don't know if it's the factory one or not um it looks correct or you know it looks period for the soul of the tractor the grill here this butte is apparently a refrigerator rack that's been turned into a grill i think it actually looks pretty decent i didn't do it um it fits it fits pretty good but it's not an original one a new one of these isn't very expensive but this thing's already uh money fit for me but i'm gonna lose money on anyway so hope you enjoyed the video if you did please comment tell me what i did wrong
