hi everyone welcome to Catherine's play I'm Catherine I like to keep things simple easy and delicious for you if your subscriber if welcome back if you're not a subscriber I'd like to thank you for coming today and I hope you'll look at that subscribe button down below with that Bell notification so you'll always know when my shows are posted alright y'all with keeping with my motto simple easy and delicious we are going to make foil packet dinner alright we're gonna find things that are refrigerated we're gonna put it into some foil wrap it up and bake it in the oven y'all these foil packets are so versatile alright just dig in your refrigerator you will find you will be amazed what you will find that you could put into these foil packets alright alright y'all so to get started today I am doing sausage potato and vegetable foil packets so let's get started all right we're gonna go over the ingredients that we're gonna need to make our foil packets today so I went ahead and I chopped 1 onion into nice bite-sized pieces I found some frozen green beans in my freezer perfect for this I've also got some frozen corn they're going to use and I also found some frozen carrots that I'm going to be using in my packets today also alright so I found some red potatoes in my pantry and I cut them up into bite-size pieces just like that because we want everything to be about the same size so it cooks evenly now I have a kielbasa sausage here that we're going to use now I'm going to just slice these into kind of circles we've got some butter and then we're gonna season the whole thing up right so I've got salt pepper minced garlic paprika and some cumin now I'm using 1 teaspoon of everything here ok so it's up to you what you want to put into your packets how you want to season them alright and then I'm going to be using just a little bit of olive oil to kind of put it all together so it all the seasonings stick to all the vegetables and everything and then just a solid bowl here that we're going to dump everything in so we can get a good mix on everything all right yeah let's get started all right so once you have everything cut up or while you're cutting everything up you want to go ahead and pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees and get your bowl ready I'm going to go ahead and add my potatoes all right now I'm making four packets for my family so what do you put in this bowl will depend on how many people how many packets you want to make all right you're making one packet one handful of everything should be fine I've got my carrots here put those in corn going in green beans my onion got my seasonings I'm going to go in oil in here that's good right there I'm gonna take a spoon and I'm just going to mix this up look at all those colors in there y'all make your dinner beautiful right y'all it smells amazing in there with paprika cumin garlic oh my gosh we're gonna go ahead now and start cutting up our sausage alright so I'm using a kielbasa sausage here alright so it's a nice link alright so we're gonna go ahead now and cut these into little disk shapes and get those ready for our packets just like that alright y'all so just think of the options alright if you have chicken ground beef right sausage like this ham anything any kind of vegetable that you want to make oh yeah just go in your refrigerator pull out the leftovers and then you can make these wonderful little packets now there was something like this that my husband made for me when we first got married and he called it a hobo dinner and he used potatoes vegetables and he used ground beef and he just put it all into a baking dish and seasoned it and then he put that in the oven and that's what we had for dinner no really good so that's been a while but that's what we would have alright so I'm gonna cut enough of these right here to make four packets alright I think that's gonna be it right there so we're go ahead now and start building our packets and what you're going to need is some tinfoil now if you use regular tinfoil just go ahead and make sure that you have a spray like a cooking spray to spray to keep everything from sticking now I'm using a nonstick wrap here that I'm going to be using alright y'all as simple as that we're gonna go ahead and how and to get our tin foil ready we're talking about 14 inches all right so about a ruler size and a few extra inches on the sides here you want your size a little bigger then your front side here I'm going to put my mixture right in the center you know whatever I did or portion sizes for you looks good right there oh yeah that's looking really good y'all all right take some sausage then just kind of place it around it's going to add flavor flavor up one right in the center alright that's looking good right there we're going to take a pat of butter we're gonna place that right on the center there that's gonna melt it all in and give it even more flavor are y'all excited alright so what you want to do now let's take your front end right here over the long side bring it up and let it sit need to bring this side up now you want to connect them right in the center I'm gonna crush it down to the ends there you're gonna fold it carefully on your thirty tenth world kinda we don't want any linkage for anyway for this stuff to come out okay hold it when I fold it one more time all right that's a good seal there but let that seem to stay inside and cook all those vegetables right all right so then just kind of push it down like that turn it sideways and you take the side I'm gonna show y'all do it I'm gonna do a close-up y'all so y'all can say that and that happens all right I'm gonna do it like that turned around then we're gonna fold it like three times right there are y'all packet number one done [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] alright y'all I got my packets ready to go in the oven that's been preheated at 425 degrees now as you can see I have five of them here because when I got done with the fourth one I still had enough to make another one so I wouldn't get it made in another room because it can go in the refrigerator if it needs to after I cook it all right y'all I'm gonna put these in the oven for down 40 to 45 minutes you can even go down this lowest 35 depends on how tender you want your vegetables all right so anywhere between 35 and 45 minutes mono go in around 40 minutes I'll be back all right yellow so I've pulled my packets out of the oven now I pulled him out at the forty two minute mark so this is what it looks like remember so what I'm gonna do now is pull the sides open just once and then I'm gonna unwind the top of it just like that and then pull the size open now be very careful because there's steam coming out of there still okay so just be very careful see what this looks like in here you'll see that all right look at that all right y'all you know what I'm gonna do I'm gonna take a bite for you alright y'all as I'm preparing these I'm gonna go ahead and sprinkle some parsley on the inside of my packet here to give it some color and a little parsley flavor there we go all right I got my fork we're ready to go in alright y'all know if you remember I have the sausage the corn the green beans the carrots potatoes I've got onions in here and then I gave it a wonderful flavor of paprika cumin salt and pepper and some olive oil in there alright and I think a pad of butter went in there right the layer of flavor all right when we taste this for you in here obviously I'm gonna go to that sausage right there [Music] okay the sausage is well cooked the corn it's nice and hot which by the beans move okay those are good you know you care it ooh okay that's good nice and flavored all right let's make sure these potatoes are nice and cooked alright y'all remember we kept everything two bite-sized pieces right so they'll all cook evenly mm-hmm cooked all the way through all right y'all ooh there you go my foil packet dinner making hers y'all dig your stuff out of your refrigerator or your freezer like I did throw it all into some tin foil bake in your oven there you go easy cleanup I had a bowl and a knife to cut everything there you go eat it out of your packet all right y'all comment down below what you think give me a thumbs up if you're new to my channel I hope you did that subscribe button down below with Abell notifications you'll always know when my shows are posted [Music] Oh [Music] you
