so hello everyone today I'm going to show you how you can optimize your Unreal Engine level and get maximum performance or FPS in your game or anything like in viewport or in game so the first thing that you have to do is like you need to identify what is causing the low FPS or laggy problem in your scene okay so probably the chances are like your texture size okay so if you're using like 8K tecture forkit tectures in your level and it will just cause lag in your game or in viewport because 8K and 4K textures are too much like for your GPU to render and I would recommend to stick with 2K or if you have any kind of reason to use 4K or 8K texture then only you have to use if you are having too much close to the object then of course you need like 8K or 4K textures okay but if you are far away from your object like this trees so I'm like like this much far away so you really don't need 8K texture to do the this to make your tree looks good okay so it doesn't make any sense so how you can reduce your texture size so the first thing that you have to do is like you have to go to your tools option and then you will go to the audit okay and then you have to go to statistics so you will get something like this so in this menu you will see you will get all details of your textures like how much resolution your level contains so you can see that I'm having like so many 4K textures and my 2k textures are much more and there are 1K textures also so what I want to do like I want to reduce the 4K textures okay so the first thing that you can do is like you have to click you can just click on the name and your content browser will open and it will show the texture uh of that material okay so the first thing is like that you can just click on this one and then you will get something like this okay and there we have a called maximum texture size okay so this is like 4 K 4096 if you want to make it 2 2K then you have to write 2048 or if you want to make it 1K one24 okay so make sure that you put the right resolution number like if you want 2K then you have to put like 2048 if you want 1K you have to put one24 okay do not put like uh 1 1,000 or 2,000 do not do that okay because like one24 number is good for your uh memory to understand not memory like to GPU to understand how much the resolution is so just focus on this thing so 2K I will choose 2K resolution and then you have to just press save okay so it will be just converted to 2K okay now you will tell like I can't do like manually these things okay it will so disgusting not disgusting but it will be so time consuming and I can't do that much textures like it will take forever to complete okay so there is a other options you can do to bulk edit this whole thing okay so what you have to do you have to just uh um go to your content browser just open like right click this one and you can open your content browser and not right click like left click okay so you have to left click this one and then you will see like go to your folder where your where your models are okay like in this one I'm having I'm using Mega scan trees so you can see I'm having all my models there so okay you have to go to your folder um you select your folder and then what what you have to do you have to just click on this one and you have to enable texture and this one texture okay and then you have to just enable this one so you will see every all textures your trees or your asset are using so what you have to do you have to just uh select everything okay CR a and select everything then Pro uh right click and then you will see something called asset action and then you have to go to edit selection in property Matrix okay you will see something like this what you have to do you can see your textures are there you have to control a press everything and in this you will get something like if I go there yeah you will get like maximum texture size okay so what you have to do you have to just rename this thing like if you want one24 or 204 2K or 4K whatever you want you just put the number and it will compile every shaders everything it will take some time to compile everything and your all textures are like ready to go and it will be converted to 2K or 1K whatever you want okay but there is one problem okay so if you try to do it like everything at one time maybe your unil will crash maybe for me it was crashing when I try everything at once like when I try when I select everything and uh change it like this uh at a single time then my Andro engine is crashing so in order to overcome that problem what you have to do you have to select batches okay there is only one solution you can just select first 10 or first first 15 something like that like this like this I selected this much and then you change it okay so this is one solution that you can use and just select 10 or 15 textures at one time and then change it okay so make sure that you save your files when you change any textures because you don't know when it will crash and you lost all your progress and it will just not worth it just make sure that you do these things I think it will help you I I I think it will definitely help you because that's the main reason why your game is too much laggier and the other stuff so that's it for today thank you for watching
