Fishing segment on live tv goes horribly wrong

on the gold coast now where something is lurking deep beneath evandale lake that's music from the lake just yesterday residents fear a shark may be inhabiting the popular swimming spot but experts are yet to find out for more on the mysterious sightings i'm joined by shark expert paul burke come on dear paul hey carl that was a very big build-up hello kia are you up there on the goal of my life sort of my life mate great production just not good at the end focus ready to go now listen hey uh hey what's going on behind you the ducks just landed mate i think uh look this is the lake at evandale the gold coast city council chambers where they've been a possible sighting of of a noah the man in the grey suit or what we call a shark is it really a shark i don't think so look there's a slight possibility it could be but um reality is mate look the council put a a bait fish net out there a couple days ago they know floats have gone down so it hasn't even caught a bait fish but look we've got to take these claims seriously because people do use this lake on a daily basis and we've got the narang river just about 30 meters to the south of it and there could be one angler who may have caught a shark in there because there are lots of bull sharks in that area and he could have thrown it in the lake so we've got to take it a little bit seriously i'm going to give you one chance to catch this shark um you've got one chance and one chance only off you go all right well if i had if i had a merrell candidate no excuses off you go yeah here we go here we go excellent just wait for the lure to land it's still going wow here we go it's out there and it's coming there we go i got a you got it i've got a bird okay stop now stop now stop now stop now stop now that's enough well that didn't end well did it peaking duck anyone lisa awkward and speaking of sharks check this out for heaven's sake a kayaker in the u.s who caught the big one and just wouldn't let go he is a crazy guy and we're going to bring you the full story after seven o'clock sometimes it's so dangerous sitting here it's okay the bird's okay yep all sorted yeah that's good no ducks were hurt in the filming of that sequence the whole thing was bull shark are you pleased with that what a segment see they don't make that stuff at prime time yeah they don't write that stuff for a good reason
