when it comes to home technology we often find ourselves talking about the latest streaming services like stan smartphones tablets and tvs but there is a growing number of gadgets being developed to help with your personal health and hygiene let's bring in the tech whisperer trevor long to talk us through them trev what do you got for us listen everyone's heard of electric toothbrushes you may have heard of what we call an electric tooth flosser this is where you have a burst of water shooting through your teeth this here from water pick is the sonic fusion it's both 350 bucks at shaver shop it's an electric toothbrush but it's also a flosser so a lot of water and it's an intense experience i kid you not when you're brushing your teeth and it's flossing at the same time it's very messy you need to do it over the sink but it does a very good job of flossing your teeth have you turned it off yeah very disturbing to me it's weird it looks like it's on its own toilet [Laughter] that's the water source for it oh um taking your temperature has never been more important uh than these covered times you've got a gadget for that too yep and you can now you can now buy these for yourselves at home and they're very accurate this one here is from medsense 150 bucks and literally in one second you've got yourself a temperature reading great for peace of mind but also just great for having for the kids around it's the easiest temperature check you'll do one second temperature check that one's a medsense at 150 dollars trev sitting on this desk this morning i think my blood pressure's going up what have you got for me you need this this is the withings blood pressure monitor so this just like at the doctor goes around your arm but you can do this at home you press one button and it pairs with your smartphone and this will now do a proper blood pressure check here so it pumps up it squeezes the heck out of my arm and it does a blood pressure check all in one device and then synchronizes to the cloud so that you've got an app that has all your blood pressure measurements now obviously the doctor needs to do that professionally but this is great data to take to the doctor if you if you need to regularly monitor your blood pressure so for 170 odd dollars it's a great product from withings the blood pressure monitoring you get them at major retailers like jb hifi okay now weight loss is the challenge for lots of people during lockdown and you've got some fancy scales for people hmm yep these are the again from withings this is their their their smart scales these look like normal scales but when you jump on them you get a digital readout but what's critical here is it knows who you are now we've got these at home it knows that my eight-year-old's different to my nine-year-old just based on weight and body mass index but when you jump on it also gives you a little graph so that you can see how you're going with your uh with your weight loss challenge so a really great way to keep track of your weight loss challenge can you cheat it no yeah trust me i've tried [Laughter] and what about you've got something for everyone working at home too yeah this is the upright go so this little thing here detects whether you're slouching or not so you stick it on your back or you can wear a little necklace that kind of hangs it on your back and it will give you a little vibration alert when you're slouching too much so it's really really simple pairs with your smartphone but it's basically about getting your posture right and it absolutely works after a couple of weeks of using this you've got great posture it's called the upright go again about 150 bucks that's very cool i like that and i do like the um the toilet toothbrush that looks that's very cool i don't know that thing it's too aggressive do you regret it flossing and brushing at the same time it's what everyone should be doing sound familiar it's wet it's very wet give up i give up trevor okay thank you
