First Sentence Challenge!

hey guys it's Hannah and today I am here with two of my favorite people in the whole wide world oh okay I'm here with Zoe from read by Zoe and Haley from Haley and Buckland and today we are filming a video that I filmed a very very long time ago but it's one of my favorite videos in the world and that is the name that book challenge aka the first sentence challenge essentially the way this challenge works especially with the three of us is that one person reads the first sentence of a book and then the other two people have to guess what that book is and then if it can't guess it from the first line you read the second line and then the third line and then the usual rule is that you'll read the last sentence of the book but since we don't want to spoil anybody we're going to read from a random line in the middle of the book if they can't get the first three lines it's gonna be really competitive because I'm not competitive at all but yeah it's gonna be a really really exciting game and I can't wait to do it so let's start round one I didn't I got a blindfold oh yeah I also forgot to mention that they will be blindfolded so they won't know what book I'm holding obviously I can't see I believe you I'll leave you found one and book one first the colors what Elias and her monsters no no it might turtling although I don't know I don't think I have done more shelf keep going second sentence then the humans what first the colors then the humans Breaking Dawn no what have I read I have read this yes yes you've read this yes my breakfast - I know you've read it for sure because it's on your bed shelf I know you've read it for sure because duh duh no you read it that's what we like and I don't know how it sounds like a sci-fi it sounds well definitely humans that is something supernatural and what kind of snow that's usually how I see things ah this is a drink hi everybody I chose this one I was like they're gonna get this one for sure I sort of you miss one I do not give you clue your clue is that you've both read this well I heard you a big clue about duh yeah ok wait what do you like what I like my life another hint we've all read this book - is it a contemporary did we are enjoy fantasy we have all I'm pretty sure we have all enjoyed this I know you enjoyed this I know I enjoyed this I'm pretty sure it's that we also enjoyed it another hint we didn't read it together like or around the same time what year do you think we all read it I read it in sixth grade did I recently read it I don't I think so I think well my brand yeah nothing for my brand all I could think of is algae Wonderland that's all I could think of and that's not a that wasn't the easiest one so great round two book two goodness can you hear that said blank blank halting in front of me so suddenly that I almost crashed into her is it part of missus you're like it's it the first but is it like not a first book what are you asking no I'm just worried if it's part of a series like it it's like I'm we're not gonna tell you I'm just saying okay I want clothes we both stood on the train platform you were secret nope nope train though it's always them drink that way but that doesn't help me well it's a never sentence is it gonna help us why do you this so they're just on the train they're just they're they're on a training platform train yeah Narnia I knew the second it was I don't like that do I have ever read a book before I'll give you another hint we have also all read this book three like it recently we were 15 and we were friends radio silent yep cuz she's with yeah yep honestly no I'm gonna get 0 point this entire time no you thought about it wait it's a stroke America so stroke of the ego miss your hand Haley the book you're gonna know what it is stop touching the book I'm not touching them but I haven't felt a book go away I feel the book now around three book three I'm afraid I said the little girl sitting on the bed did you think this was easy no I think this is the hardest one in my opinion based on the first three sentences well sentence please and thank you grandfather can you stay with me yet father who has like parents and grandparents and books absolutely in my a to be fair if I had gotten these first three sentences I really wouldn't be able to guess this either that's the main characters is there a grandfather somewhere or is this like a like a oh we're starting with these people like you know it's like Frank in Goblet of Fire that it's just like because random person you don't care about is this the same person situation I'll put a fire get the grandfather you got a life with you in third sentence no it's not gonna help you great thanks blank blank made an impatient noise in the back of his throat as he drew a chair closer to the bedside and seated himself yeah you can take your blindfold off it is recess oh my god Starkweather it's stuck when they're talking to Adele no I don't know I just was thinking for some reason it seemed like something died because I should clarify it makes up for anoint getting okay so it's my turn and I picked I think easier books than Hannah did so it's all going to be good I'm being kind to do really though I think I did I know you all have Red Riding Prejudice no does the truth universe around for book for this one sentence number one it's a weirdly subtle conversation is this frustrating Hannah I almost don't notice I'm being blackmailed Simon versus oh yeah do you have both points now Haley yes I'm a little percent gonna lose this game no I have one single right so determined to win I have a single course hurry round number five this one yay sentence okay blanks stood on the bare mountaintop her ruffled ivory dress whipping around her legs her masses of white blond curls streaming behind her weak it's a suit like a look I'm uh I'm gave you guys you're like you've read this duh okay what we've all read this yeah Persephone's two legs stood on the bare mountaintop I don't know it's the lightning thief book know what there was Persephone I gave you a great hit there you go they accidentally gave you the name she was Ghazi immaterial something blown between these boulders and caught upon one of them I am was so unbelievably confuse on line number three the wind was fierce up here with no trees to block it what else had the name Persephone in it the Raven boys because I cheated okay round number six I clasp the flask between my hands even though the warmth from the tea has long since leached into the frozen air oh my god I know what this is I tight against the cold I know what this is I know you know what this is it's killing me person what's first person I'm not giving you any books that I haven't read myself if a pack of wild dogs were to appear at this moment the odds of scaling a tree before they attacked are not in my favor The Hunger Games nope Catching Fire yes I knew it I'm so I'm only going to get one point round seven bringing up a fear that even knowing has blank blank is the kind of name you give to the creepy girl who claims to her ex-boyfriend four weeks after he's dumped her because she refuses to accept that he hates her guts what I'm like April Mays like yeah yeah I read this yeah you definitely have it's a contemporary yeah yeah yes oh I never would have gotten that one I have a feeling they won the third sentence you guys would have gotten it because it says blank blank belongs in a comic book oh she's not talk about her name is she she's talking about Eliza Berg oh right right yeah round eight didn't do it's a beautiful day in the city new films what's in the city I'm using New York City I'm assuming New York City too the sun is shining not a cloud in the sky shining tank is clearly the most generic beginning to any it's a city that has weather but no other in this instance I had a great lunch in Central Park a chicken shawarma from the shawarma stop which was overwhelmingly recommended to us by our listeners after last week's episode on NYC's best ad secrets yeah ah picnic nickname is listener that the only yeah Katya round nine final round I like to watch blank when he doesn't know I'm looking you yeah yep I like to admire the straight line of his job the curve of his cheekbone oh my gosh every way to all the no it did PS I still love you know is it always yeah yeah do you want me to do a tiebreaker cuz I had a backup okay do it side okay the tiebreaker I shouldn't have come to this party they hate you kids yeah oh my god right yeah yeah yeah alright so there you all have it that is it for the name that book challenge / first sentence challenge I hope you enjoyed watching this video and watching this seriously struggle for remembering for you ever read a single book promise that we have it does John we just don't read the first sentence obviously I always skip the first three sentences into this that wasn't much more difficult than I thought it would be it was really yeah it's harder than I remember it being - I think it's also because I'm not at home yeah I'm like I don't have my bookshelf so I know like what's on my shelf versus like I don't
