FIRST HEAVY SNOW PLOW OF THE YEAR & I GET VERY STUCK!

oh okay we definitely got some snow should have my dunlop's on [Music] okay [Music] let's do this i guess so first thing i'll apply my driveway on the way out and then i gotta head to our commercial building then i've got my buddies commercial building then i'm gonna come back and get the vehicle geared up for ashley to take power to daycare and then go do the other residential stuff they didn't even plow my my like side road yet and then this road here which is like the main road they've only got one lane plowed in it so far that's not a good sign of of what's to come that's for sure but we uh it's our first winter your first winter living over here so i can see that our road is not considered a very important one that's for sure but guess who has plows anyway i need a coffee before doing anything you guys know me you guys know that it looks pretty though i can't believe we got this much snow there's like 10 10 to 12 inches of snow this storm kind of came out of nowhere like a couple days ago it wasn't even it wasn't even supposed to be happening and then like uh monday tuesday morning they started talking about it and i was like holy crap has that completely changed my whole week that's for sure i'd still be up there mulching right now but you can't uh you can't do much about this so switch from excavation mode to uh to plow mode i guess [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] all right well it's gonna do it for this spot so this is our building we on this one me and a couple partners of ours we bought this building um garage and you know all that stuff yeah this is a good size uh it's almost just took about an hour and a half and a half hour and 45 minutes once i got here so on a good large snowfall this one's gonna take a little bit of time that's that's for sure i see one spot there i'm gonna come through and get get turned around here so i've got my buddies actually my partner i've got one of his uh little buildings to plow commercial buildings i've got his road that he lives on uh my own driveway and then i've got uh i just got a call but i've got a couple tower sites that i need that i need to do they've got projects going on so it's it's gonna end up being a little bit of a long day i think okay well today was going pretty good until around 1 30 something like that i'll say one o'clock or whatever it was i was uh finishing up my buddy's place which is over at the this one road that i do and he's trying to get the stuff pushed down close to his house and it gets pretty steep and anyway i was in a really good position sitting basically in the middle of his driveway and tried to back up and it just kept pulling me towards this group of trees and then there's a rock wall and then a drop off and trees there's absolutely nowhere to go and the more i tried the deeper and deeper it would go towards these trees and towards this drop-off so i came over and i got this truck and i tried to pull it out and it was not happening so here it is it's 5 30. i got the tow company coming out with the wench truck i hope that they can pull it out evenly because if you pull the front out the back's going to swing around up against a tree if you pull the back out the front's going to swing around go up against the tree and the plows on the front anyway it's not it's not cut and dry that it's going to be a super easy thing to do but we don't have much choice i still have a tower site to do later on tonight so get this out and then i'll be coming back here wait till bauer goes to bed and then i'll head into that tower site it's about a 45 minute drive and the road is uh the road's not the best my driveway the last time i come out my road was not plowed yet and it still isn't like that's ridiculous the only spot that's plowed is what i plowed that's it i plowed a lane from this direction in here it is 5 30 and the road isn't even touched yet by the plows that's that's terrible all right so here it is so i came in i stuck to the left plowed the path his vehicle was kind of parked in the center it's kind of made it a little bit tough so i came in i was sitting right here right here and i plowed one little path in and then i tried to back up and this is where i ended up so there's trees it's probably too dark if you guys even see there's a big tree right there there's a big tree here like i have my wheels all the way back here at one point but i was sitting right over here and then now i'm down here there's a rock wall and a drop-off right here a big steep hill in trees so anyway get this thing fired up and have it warmed up hopefully he can sit down here somewhere you can hook the wench up somehow and yank me sideways because you can't yank me back or i'm just gonna go in that tree it's not a good situation all right guys well he got me away from the tree and now we're gonna try to yank this thing up he said just get in here put it in neutral so that's what i'm doing there that is it's not going good right now all right well we got out crisis averted oh man all right so now i've got to head to a tower site which is a ways away get that done get it over with and we'll call the night and see what tomorrow brings well we got the truck filled up we got our timmy's we are set and ready to go 905 right now hopefully be on site by 9 40 and get this knocked off the list and get home in the warm bed all right so i have never used this shoulder mount while plowing snow before so i honestly have no idea what you guys are able to see right now and uh if it doesn't look good then i just won't use it the destination is on your right yeah i think we're here oh yeah she's nice and soft it's gonna be so much fun i'd like to put it in in v and get it up there so far just not all the way to the ground here we go we're climbing so far so good oh nice so i'm just taking like like a top layer off and i'm winging it out and then that allows me to come down now because uh it's much easier going down plowing than trying to go up plowing wipers need some work all right clean this up while i'm up here so i've got two led pods uh they're uh rigid i got two going forward and two going back and they make an absolute huge difference at night time plow lights these ones are leds they're actually not bad but they are nothing nothing like this they kind of just point straight down get as close to that step as i can without hitting it jeez that's loud we got a they have a rigging crew coming here so they're gonna be coming in with uh with trailers and stuff so you need to give them room to get in and get turned around of course you always got to be careful of where you're going if you plow something all the time you can kind of get used to it but if you only plow something once like this is my first time plowing this if things can sneak up on you yeah she's soft plow's digging in i can smell the mud [Music] i mean this one this storm did drift a bit so you could be going you could be going somewhere that looks like it's good solid ground and it's just a big hole but it happened to drift in there that's no fun all right i'm gonna try to get away from the front of the gate there as i bask in for them so anyone can can get stuff plowing i've been flowing snow for a long time i've had to get oh geez counting today i had to get towed out twice there was one one driveway that i used to do in um and where i used to live in tan town and it was oh my man it was so steep rock walls asphalt which believe it or not can be worse than gravel and then it's got like a really sharp turn on it and the truck just basically went completely sideways in his driveway and all that was facing forward was the rock wall so i definitely had to call call a tow truck that day he came and got me spun around and that was it and i should have stopped doing oh man i should have stopped doing that guy's driveway right then but i didn't i kept doing it until i moved and that's the only issue i ever had with that one but i did not enjoy plowing that one at all i dreaded going there every time and you know for the 50 bucks that i get for it it absolutely was not worth it but i really liked the guy and i just kept doing it because he was having a hard time finding anybody else to do it and i completely understand why [Music] all right so we'll go back up man i wish i'd stop i press the button for it to not activate i don't have to shut the tuck off off all right we'll go back up we'll wing the other side back that's gonna be it the funny thing is this will be all gone probably um on the weekend it's supposed to be cold tonight it's -10 right now and then on the weekend saturday it's supposed to be plus 12 with rain and then sunday i think is plus 12 with like showers so the snow will more than likely be gone and it's just going to create a mess like i wish that december 1st happens and it's just like -5 every day and it could even be flurries every day or or whatever i really don't care but this fluctuation in temperature from extreme one way to the other the ground just doesn't get a chance to set up everything is so nasty everything's so nasty and wet make it nice and wide for them ground is so soft this is not easy on the equipment oh yeah this is not like plowing walmart parking lots there's rocks there's washouts there's ruts there's divots trees bushes yeah this is not the easiest thing on the equipment doing this stuff it's pretty good though i only had requests for this one and one in cape breton to do a pretty easy day as far as snow removal goes for the for the tower tower crews all right well i'm gonna get swung around here i'm gonna push off this side a little bit hopefully when i get my home my roads plowed my road still is not plowed like that is like that is just ridiculous like what happens if an ambulance needed to get in or something all right folks well that's gonna do it see how much snow i got on the front of my plow here yeah what's on there is on there frozen well that went good perfect [Applause] i got a little bit of work to do on my driveway and so i actually can get out in the morning she's leaving early in the morning and then that's gonna do it you
