FINALLY!! a battery chainsaw WITH POWER (and lightweight)

[Music] so we got a crazy tight on the luring device and we're going to cut it off see these big globs of pitch and stuff it's a good test for the saw because you want a flush cut you don't want to mess around with stubs so probably hang it up you know settle it down a bit and then send it that way it's less crash and smash on everything down there less shrapnel so joe helped me make a mod for this yesterday so you can put the uh battery on the harness this little this is a prototype this isn't a thing that we have officially done yet but today's the maiden voyage [Music] hey what's up youtube i wanted to talk to you about this tree we're gonna cut today but more about the saw we're gonna use because i got the 540 battery saw and um i went ahead and went through the trouble to use the umbilical i've never seen anybody use it i think it's more intended for people on the ground but it seems logical that you wouldn't want an extra 4.8 pounds or whatever with the larger battery on your top handle saw in the tree so i'm going to try it out it will save some weight at arm's reach pretty significant terrain you know issues slope the camera doesn't always show it but if if you went bombing wood down to a place like this then it would be right here in the garage it would pinball right into there so we'll probably be rigging the wood down from this spot here's the new 540 and uh this is not a battery this is just the adapter to go from the battery which i have had my buddy joe at monkeybeaver.com help me make it safely reside on the harness thank god for suspenders because now the batteries on the harness instead of um on the end of your arms you know that's the other thing i i haven't liked about what i haven't liked about battery saws so far is the weight of a battery up there because my echo my 2511 t is like it's like a bread knife i mean it's just so light i mean it's lighter than this even with the battery off the saw still this has a lot more power and can probably get into a little bit of wood chunking [Music] tell me when you're ready and i'll give it to you youtube look where i got my first try went clear to the top of the tree and through this little co-dominant it's just perfect oh i literally got a free ride clear to the top where i'm setting my speedline rigging and my personal tie-in that was just worth it because you're looking at it and you're thinking i should just spur this you know because that's like old school that's like i'm getting somewhere it's happening you know you're on your way somewhere and uh there's a traffic jam and it's faster to wait through the traffic jam than it is to go around but you go around anyway because you have to keep moving well i just calmed myself down i launched the line in with the air cannon and then later i got a free ride up here with my saw with my rigging with my rope with my speedline kit uh with everything i needed from here on it's just it's not cake but it's a lot more like cake [Music] so what i did there is i just cut some limbs to clear my path the path of my rope to swing back and forth as i get the limbs on the back side so now that was less than 10 minutes but the whole tree is one-sided now it was already kind of one-sided but that was ten slings plus some that i pitched by hand oh my wife is gonna love those backyard pools so nice well i have the battery out here at arm's length right this thing is torquey powerful and now it's light so i'm loving it these are big limbs watch this [Music] [Music] so [Music] um [Music] oh [Music] oh sweet footage [Music] so the saw with the umbilical is really cool so far i'm loving it we don't really have the adapter for sale on on monkey beaver yet but i could see that being a thing we're just trying stuff out i mean who wouldn't want to carry the battery on their belt with some suspenders i love it check out this limb that is huge should probably get the drone out for that one okay so this one is a huge limb right so we gotta have the speed line really tight or we'll sweep something under us i might not seem possible but this is big it's gonna pull some sag in the line even though this is uh static this is pmi this is the stuff we sell for it it's really good but it's heavy so we got a crazy tight on the lowering device and we're gonna cut it off see these big globs of pitch and stuff it's a good here and we're anchored off this white oak and we're just using this little quarter wrap for this stuff just super simple and easy to set up yeah you got three of them i think you can take them all
