good afternoon my ncu family good afternoon friends of ncu good afternoon everyone thank you for joining us once again for another in the series of week of prayer fall 2021 let me also say thanks for the kind words of introduction let me remind you that we are here to praise the lord now we are here to give god glory we are here to give him thanks and he is worthy of our praise i also want to let you know that come tomorrow the waters shall be troubled and souls will be born to the kingdom of god because we are firm believers that the word of the lord bears fruit and god is coming through once again for someone even at this time and so if you have that desire if you're thinking about it if you're contemplating it and you want to talk to someone about it just go ahead and and click the link for the altar call as we get close to the end of this message and someone will be waiting to speak with you even now you can go ahead and click that decision card and we will be in touch with you thank you so much since i invite you now to broadheads with me as we pray father in heaven we thank you so much for your amazing love to us in that while we were yet sinners you gave everything to see us saved we ask therefore that will empower us with the power of your holy spirit let jesus christ be exalted even in this place for we ask it through his matchless name amen and amen our subject this afternoon is simply reckless love reckless love and as you would tell that runs in line with a theme song reckless love in john 15 verses 12 and 13 the bible says this is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends love this mystified reality confused by many desired by most unknown by some experienced by a fraction yet available to all love despised by the broken and hurting envied by the lonely demanded by the married a necessity for the young an imperative for the adult a requirement for old age hard to define difficult to determine unmistakable when genuine greater than death deeper than sorrow stronger than pain lord jesus wants you to know he says this is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you one may ask and how does jesus love now let's reflect even now let's reflect on his time here and how he lived let's look at the life of jesus how did he express love how did he interact with others jump back with me to luke chapter 19 a read with me beginning at verse one and jesus entered and passed through jericho and behold there was a man named zacchaeus who was a chief among the publicans and he was rich the word says zacchaeus was the chief among the publicans his name meant purity but his character was far from it he embezzled the public funds from the roman revenue trove and robbed from his own to build a mansion for his home he was despised by all feared by some he was an extortionary excellent because he was a jew backed by the romans but he wanted to see jesus so he climbed up in a tree pharisees and rabbis avoided him but jesus went to his house for tea and by the end of the conversation jesus promised him salvation and called him a son of abraham because he says to seek and to save the lost is a reason for the son of man jesus loved him unconditionally [Music] took he had no concern for his reputation he just kept loving you no matter your condition he's recklessly selflessly completely in love with you if you don't get it yet then turn again with me this time we are going to john chapter 11. he forced a reckless opportunity the setting of this encounter was psycho the samaritan city he is sitting at the well intentional to meet the woman whose life has not been marked by purity she is hot and sexy pretty face and curvaceous body she walked timidly but quite confidently for if there's one thing she knew it was how to handle a man in fact she's already had five and she now has one that already belonged to someone sing them saw her as a cheat for a one night stand when she passes married men their wives hold on to their hands for she was like a gravity of passion stunning to look upon but she walks around with a murder reputation nevertheless jesus was about to show just how much he loves unconditionally first he gained her attention by asking for a drink he then offered her a drink of which would never thirst again thus awakening in the heart of this woman a strong desire a strong desire for something more something better so she asked him for this drink indicating her conviction that jesus jesus i love my jesus jesus introduced her to the art of the mission for each one must reach one to bring him to the savior go call your husband he said she said i ain't got one he said you have spoken well for you with another woman's man so in verse 26 jesus plainly said to her i am the one that's true redeemer the plan of salvation so consider this she is one of the first evangelists as she went back and called all the men to come see the man jesus care not what they thought of his association for to save the lost from sin constitutes his entire plan and he recklessly selflessly completely is in love with you in fact when you assess his closest friends simon peter was a fisherman who knew the language of the trade he had a big mouth and couldn't put a lid on it james and john called the sons of thunder there were real thugs inner city gangsters matthew was a republican who swindled everyone simon the zealot was an insurrectionist who would come to communion strapped and this was the crew that jesus rode with and in matthew 10 verse 1 it says jesus gave them power how do you give power to such a clan but he gave them power to cast out demons we frankly didn't care of how the world would label him for he loved you with a love that's deep and strong he's recklessly filled with compassion so he smells the weed on your breath but he's still in love with you he hears the songs in your head but he's still in love with you he watches your sinister rendezvous but he's still in love with you he knows you're cheating with him you're cheating with the devil on him but he's still in love with you no he says you're not too far gone he's still in love with you you'll feel your heads going under but he's got the power he's still in love with you he's recklessly selflessly completely in love with you this is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you jesus loved the unlovable help the undeserving hang with prostitutes visit extortionist cast demons out of the profligate disciple the violin offers hope to the treacherous show grace to the decadent love one another as i have loved you he says hey paul puts it this way paul says in first corinthians 6 verses 9 to 11 he says know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of god be not deceived neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor effeminate nor abusers of themselves with mankind nor thieves nor courageous nor drunkards nor revelers nor extortionist shall inherit the kingdom of god then he says and such where some of you but he says you are washed hallelujah you are sanctified praise the lord you are justified in the name of the lord jesus christ because he is recklessly selflessly completely in love with you this is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you so so so what really is jesus asking of us here let me help you understand if you luke 6 27 and onward it says but i say unto you love your enemies do good to them which hates you bless them that curse you pray for those who despitefully use you and unto him that smite on one cheek turn the other also and him that take it away like look forbid him not to take thy coat also give to every man that asks of thee and of him that take their goods ask them not again and as you would that men should do to you do he also to them likewise then jesus says for if you love them which love you what thank have you for sinners also love those that love them and if you do good to those who do good to you what that have you for sinners also do even the same and if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive what thank have you for sinners also lent to sinners to receive us much again but he says love your enemies do good and land hoping for nothing again and your reward shall be great and you shall be the children of the highest for he is kind to the unthankful and to the evil be therefore merciful as your father is also merciful for he is recklessly selflessly completely in love with you this is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you oh what the world it would be if you would learn to love as jesus loved he loved unconditionally what a church it would be if you would love unconditionally you may not like his hair style but he's still god's child you may not approve her fashion but love her just the same their words may hurt you but love them through your pain love the youth whose frustration leads them to find comfort in drugs love the young lady whose broken dreams has made her a prostitute love the woman church whose home experience make him unable to listen to you love the one who lies on you and allow you to feel like you can't make it through love the one whose attitude is seeking relevance for their existence love the broken the one who needs scoffing the one who can't understand if only we could love everyone like jesus love you for jesus is recklessly endlessly completely in love with you first round 3 verse 18 tells me my little children let us not love in word neither in tongue but in deed and in truth hallelujah jesus says it's not about what you say it's about how you treat your fellow man when jesus looked at the crowd he had compassion on them it's not about his words it's about his action greater love have no man than this that a man laid down his life for his friends jesus could have spoke the word and sin could have been eradicated but no he decided to do the deed for the bible is very clear hear me somebody the bible is clear first john 4 verse 10 hearing is love not that we loved god but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins see romans 3 verse 23 says all have sinned romans 6 23 says the wages of sin is death the sinner must die but the text ends by saying that the gift of god for he is merciful if you ever have a reason to question god's love just look at the cross of calvary if you ever have a reason to believe you are hopeless just look to the cross of calvary if you ever have a reason to believe you can't make it just look at the grass of calvary if you ever have a reason to think your sins are too great just look at the cross of calvary as if you ever have a reason to think your souls are too many to handle just look to the quest of calvary if you ever have a reason to feel your addictions are too strong just look to the cross of calvary if you ever have a reason to believe your life is now done just look to the grass of calvary jesus wants you to know there is no habit that he can't break there is no mountain that he can't climb there is no help you need that he can't provide there is no problem that he cannot fix there is no issue in your life that he cannot handle with you for he is recklessly selflessly completely in love with you in the beginning was the word the word was with god and the word was god we can't understand it but we call it the incarnation god filling himself in human flesh god deciding he loves you too much to part with you god had a choice the day that adam's sin god could have cut him down could have done away with him god could have knocked you dead the first time you sinned but he decided i love you too much so in spite of your sins romans 5 verses 6 to 8 says while we were yet sinners jesus christ died for the ungodly because he's recklessly endlessly selflessly completely loved with you so while you declare with a breath he breathed in you that he don't exist he came to die for you while you laughed at his suffering bragging you have no need of him he died for you while he walked away from his company to join the devil's party he came to die for you when like the rich young ruler god is the voice of self-righteousness you think you have no luck but you are lacking him he came and he died for you he's recklessly selflessly completely in love with you that john tells us in the beginning was the word the word was with god and the word was god and the word verse 14 john 1 verse 14 the word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory because of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth that night angels sung at his birth that night angel said to the shepherds good news to all people it's good news to the unemployed it's good news for the adulterer it is good news for the marriage teacher on the edge of destruction it's good news for the liar good news for the man working on drugs good news good news for the lady whose body wins with cancer good news for the men struggling with kovid it's good news for the poverty-stricken it's good news for the youth seeking love from gangsters lost in an identity crisis it's good news for every sinner every wheel he came as the only way to redeem the lust from sinfulness his good news he's a ransom from the grave the means of hope for a dying world the payment for the sin of adam's fallen race until the devil decided he will extract every ounce of strength and induce every ounce of agony he had jesus hanging on that tree are you hearing me so they whipped him without mercy having not slept for 24 hours isaiah said he was wounded for my transgressions he was bruised for my iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed matthew 27 verse 27 says then the soldiers the soldiers of the governor took jesus into the common heart how do you take the king of kings to a common hall but they said they said they gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers and they stripped him down are you hearing me they shipped him down and put on him a scarlet robe and when they had platted a crown of thorns that put it on his head and a reed in his right hand and of the jews if only they knew the words they spoke were life to them if only they knew those words could have been hoped to them but it's not just about what you say it's about what you do are you hearing me it's about what you do indeed he was the king of the jews but greater than that he is a king of kings for all nations from all people for our kindred from our tongue from all universe he is a king of king for mars and jupiter for the galaxies beyond the milky way he's a king of kings from time everlasting to everlasting day he is the same yesterday today and forevermore his royalty for his divine he's a monogamy the one of a kind the god man there's no one like him he's the only one the redeemer of the nation salvation of fallen man jesus is everything he's everything he is the king of kings and he's recklessly selflessly completely in love with you bible says and they spit upon him and took the reed and smote him on the head and after that they had mocked him they took the robe off from him put his own raiment on him and led him away to crucify him verse 35 and they crucified him let that sink in and they crucified him he who had no sin he who is the epitome of perfection the zenith of human race they crucified him parted his garments casting lots that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet they parted my garments among them and upon my vesture they did cast lots and sitting down they watched him there and set up over his head his accusation written this is jesus the king of the jews he said watch this now verse 42 he saved others himself he cannot save and truth it was he could not save himself unless he must pay the penalty he must satisfy the demands of justice he must show mercy he must demonstrate the power of his reckless love the most violent and despicable of sinners must be able to find hope in jesus i am satisfied therefore that my faith is in an authentic savior i thank god that i have someone who is touched with the feelings of my infirmities have you met him he's entirely sincere he's immortally graceful no means of measure can define his limitless love he's enduringly strong he's imperially powerful he's impartially merciful he came to this world to be the ransom for all in a world battered and bruised by the vice of the devil you may have come here today you might have come online watching you would have joined even now tired of your struggles tired of life holding on to the last thread of hope you may have come preparing for the burial of a loved one may have come here desiring to break free from an addiction we have come here riddled with guilt and shame but you have discovered he provides strength for the weak he's available to the tempted and destroyed he sympathizes and he saves he strengthens and he sustains he delivers the captives he saves the sinner he does it all through his amazing love for his recklessly selflessly completely in love with you herod couldn't kill him pilate could find no fault in him death could not handle him and the grave could not hold him you might feel suffocated by your present circumstances but let me tell you you can breathe in him you might feel burdened from the pressures of life but you can feel light in him you might feel bound by the sins of the present but you can feel free in him you might feel dead from the guilt of the past but you can be made alive in him you might feel hopeless in a crisis all around us but you can have hope for he said in john 11 verse 25 i am the resurrection and the life he that believeth in me though he were dead yet shall he live so don't be afraid he's available don't be ashamed will make your life brand new though you struggle with your identity confused about your sexuality fallen from grace feel like an absolute disgrace he's still recklessly selflessly completely in love with you so get up and stand up you are still in the race don't give up don't give in he has not given up on you you can make it he still breathes through you your victory in him was predestinated but then he asks that you love him in return for mark 12 verses 30 and 31 jesus says and thou shalt love the lord thy god with all thy heart with all thy soul with all thy mind and with all thy strength this is the first commandment and the second is like unto it namely this thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself so together with your savior you can live eternally he is here to see you through you've got to trust that his words are true now he calls you to the altar and the spirit's here to walk with you he says my child and recklessly selflessly completely in love with you where's my praise team brothers and sisters ladies and gentlemen the love that god has for us is without comparison for no one else ever loved like he loved so great to love that he laid down his life to see you saved he risked the unity of heaven to see you saved he risked it all just for you let me tell you he went down to that grave and he died he truly died yes he died and if jesus died then he tells me he raised the unity of the blessed trinity but then death could not hold him are you hearing me for early sunday morning death who had never lost the battle lost the war for jesus christ went down to the grave to the place where blood of them soaked the sand never from where mortal man returned as victim of jesus christ went down to the grave got up with every power in the orbit of omnipotence jesus christ got up creation all things are passed away beyond all things are made new you now stand in me and i in you if you think you've got no power it's because you don't know that is recklessly his selflessly he's
