Faith Over Fear with Pastor Russell Evans

so I bring you greetings from Down Under who calls it down under who says the worlds shaped that way maybe the world shaped the other way an Australia on top you never know but by the way I'm not a Cavs fan people ask me a you a Cavs fan even though they will win the NBA playoffs this year I'm not a Cavs fan I'm a hat fan because when you're bald you want to cover everything by the way bald people are pretty anointed you know that we've been raptured quicker than y'all in heaven right now there's a hairpiece waiting for me and all people write songs like shine Jesus shine would have been written by a bald guy but I'm so blessed to be here I hear about this church everywhere I go and some of our great friends from Daiso were raving to me about this churches if you need to go that you need him meet David in the coal and and so we're so blessed to be here I'm a pastor's kid I didn't want to be a preacher by the way never want to be a preacher want to be a rock star that's true I used to play guitar and abandoned and and as a pastor's kid everyone would prophesy over me I must have had a sign on me that says prophesy over me my dad was a famous pastor in the nation of Australia in fact under his leadership of the movement that I'm from the churches were growing so fast that they were planning a church every two days over over a 10-year period it grew 300% and and that under my dad's leadership came churches like Planet shakers and Hillsong and then when my dad handed over the leadership of his ear Atlanta handed over to Brian Houston and so my dad is a famous preacher he then at 65 gave the church to my brother and he decided to not retire but refire and he started a political party he called it family first because he said we're going to view every part of legislation through the eye of the fan and he got elected to the Senate and for 10 years he was a senator and so this is a family I grew up I was a third generation I'm a third generation preacher my grandfather was saved at the end of the Welsh revival my grandmom was saved through a guy called Smith Wigglesworth and my in she got baptized in the Holy Spirit through a lady called Aimee Semple McPherson so my grandma she's a short little lady fiery lady she was about this so 4 foot nothing and she felt caught of God to go to India my grandpa Welshman coal miner got saved but in a meeting that local Stephen Jeffrey's healing evangelist was doing in the middle of his sermon he went down the back to my 17 year old grandfather and he said do you know Jesus and my grandfather said no he said would you like to know him he said yes I would he gave his life to Jesus imagine if that preacher didn't obey God that day you see revival is at the end of your obedience so many times people go oh god I need the ten points for blessing I need the ten points for a revival I'll give you it love God and obey Him and watch what he does so I grew up in a house that there was a call of God and in fact my grandfather was a missionary in India for 25 years and then went back to Australia when my grandmother was from and they set him to Papua New Guinea and he bought the baptism the Holy Spirit to the nation of Papua New Guinea interesting right now planet shakers movement are now disciple in the nation the government of Papua New Guinea 7 million people they want to make it the first Kingdom nation in the history of the world they open Parliament with opening the scriptures and they said everything we're doing is going to be based on the Word of God and now we are disciple in around the world but Jesus never called us to be fans of him he called us to be followers of him to make disciples baptizing them in the name of the Father Son and the Holy Spirit you see discipleship comes through a process of baptism the word baptism is a word baptizo which means to continually immerse our job is to continually immerse this culture in the kingdom that's our job we're there to bring change and Reformation by bringing Jesus and baptizing people into the culture you see we're not to be come like the culture we are there to transform the culture so amen so a bribe in this household and my mother she would hear from God all the time I'm telling you she I had a very very tough childhood because I couldn't sin because my mum would have a word of knowledge she say you're the Baptist's in I'm like how do you know she said God told me once I was at a movie is the horror movie I shouldn't have been at I was young it was rated R and I snuck in 14 years of age and my mum is in prayer and God tells her that I am at a movie watching a horror movie and tilta the theater I'm in and where it is so she comes into the theater while I'm watching this movie this is my life and in the middle of the movie I couldn't see her but I heard her voice I'm like thinking the director is pretty amazing that's like 3d movies the devil says what my mum she shouts his raps elaborate on what oh no she said when you turn 15 God's going to speak to you I'm like on the outside hi yeah great man on the inside I might whatever none of you ever think like that because it's more spiritual in this nation than my nation here we had this proper coming to our church and I was 15 I'm sitting on the front row I got my hands raised but I'm really not really engaged in worship because this is cute girl in the second row and I was like hallelujah thank you Jesus I claimed her in the name of the Lord that and I begin a quote scripture Oh taste and see that the Lord is good yes yes thank you lord oh I will taste her lips afterwards the creation and so the proper gets up and he goes stand up I'm like oh no God's told him that I've been worshiping the creation not the Creator [Applause] yep he stands up he says set up Russell what yes he says God's called you to be a spokesman to Nations don't compare yourself to your father your mother your uncle your grandfather God's going to anoint your lips don't say you're too young as I'm listening to this I've got two voices speaking to me I've got a voice of insecurity and I got a voice of destiny a voice that says you can't do it because you won't be as good as your father and a voice that's inside saying yes and amen you see whatever voice you honor in your life is where you track your life to see the word honor you notice Jesus I did this study on Jesus one time and and I actually wrote a book called the honor key you can get it online on Amazon and I wrote this book on honor because I discovered that every miracle that Jesus did there was this honor thing happened to it honor was about everything and I began to think about heaven and I being anything well what's the atmosphere of heaven and in the atmosphere of heaven is is an atmosphere of faith because faith is a currency of heaven so if you want to bring heaven to earth you've got to come in faith you might pray and say please God please God please God but have no faith you have no currency it's like you're going to the Apple store to buy an Apple phone and say I want an Apple phone but you have no currency to exchange it so you don't receive it that's that's why when we pray we do know that when God was talking Jesus was teaching his disciples about prayer he didn't start with in the Lord's Prayer our problem here on earth he started with our Father in heaven because he understood us if we started looking at the father and how good he is and how awesome he is and how powerful he is when we get to give us today our daily bread it's a done deal because now we're coming in faith [Applause] but I saw this thing called honor because honor is the key to unlock faith honor means to give weight to to value or to a theme so in other words but have I used to got this word honor it comes from the word honorarium that would get coins and the heavier the what more weighty it was the more expensive it was the more and had value you see what you honor is what you give value to and what you give value to you receive from think about Jesus he goes to his hometown and the Bible says they did not honor him so he could not not would not could not do a mighty work think about that Jesus knew every need of that his society he knew all the problems in his hometown wouldn't you think I'm seeing all these miracles over here now is my time I'm going to go home and I'm going to see auntie Bertha healed I'm going to see that person have a breakthrough but because they did not honor him there was no key to unlock faith that he carried see honor is the key that unlocks faith let me explain like this Jesus died for the whole world right every person he died for their sin he rose again but until we honor what he did for us give weight to give value until we do that we don't have faith but as soon as we do that we're given a gift called faith because honor unlocks faith and so here I am I got two words spoken over me see that the world will speak over you stuff he will say you're no good you won't be able to do this you'll never be or it will entice you to live in the flesh instead of living in the spirit but at the same time the voice of the Holy Spirit will be speaking to you and saying greatness is in you power is in you anointing is in you breakthrough is in you joy is in you and it's the voice you honor is the voice that you activate to work your behalf see what what is fear it's an opposite to faith is fear but really it is actually faith it's just faith in the devil you're believing his power is greater than his power hmm 15 years AG prophesize over me and I'm like yes and I'm I to be honest I was in between I was like in the flesh and in the spirit I don't know if I can Oh better god I'd like to but I don't know if I can two weeks later I'm playing in a band I play guitar and that's why plants shakers music is good because I make sure it is it's true I pick every song that that song the anthem was written out of an illustrated sermon I did about Jesus rising from the dead in it and then it became a world worship song nothing's impossible came out of a situation we're facing that seemed impossible through you I can do anything I can do all things Joe even sings it for us on nights of hope so we appreciate that two weeks later I'm in this band it's called more than conquerors so we caught it wanted to make a bit more caller so we called em for more tea for then and see for conquerors MTC some people said we'll so battles empty seats so I'm up there and I I'm playing guitar and this same cute girls in the second row thought my hair I had hair I had a mullet or skinny I I even cried in worship some men say that don't cry they usually single see if you're single sir poke yourself in the eye in worship let water come down tears come down still go man oh god oh he's got a soft heart after though I'm Ehren him see I'm just helping out the bros out here women don't like hard hearts soft heads they like soft hearts strong Minds sits has helped me out there up so it's my turn to speak to introduce a song I was 15 I was a late bloomer late developer brilliant at sport but my voice had not changed that much so I got up and I said this song is about Jesus coming back and if you don't know him you're reeling it in and my voice broke at that time and I thought it was okay and we went on and did the song and we went back to watch the video after what some of you would know what a video is some of you need a gift of interpretation to know what a video is a video was like a brick that you put in a machine and you playback stuff and we watch the video and it come to my bed you really need him and the whole band is laughing and I'm a ha I'm laughing on the outside but then they begin to rewind do you really need him you really did it you're elevated 15 times and I'm laughing on the outside but on the inside I'm making an agreement I will never speak in public again because I don't want to humiliate myself two years later my English teacher who didn't like me because she was a Satanist and that is true she was a Satanist literally didn't like me and I gave up in English I did everything well in every other subject but in English I'd given up was a bad response but I did and she wrote it in one of my reports Russell cannot communicate just remember 15 years of AIDS God's called you to be a spokesman to the nation your internet in now being reinforced cannot communicate you know your destiny will always be tested see instead of saying well the devil's taking me on sometimes he is taking you on but sometimes it's a test to see what you're going to come in agreement with see when I get attacked in the area I go wow I must have an amazing destiny in that area I must have an amazing call in that call in that area I must be destined for something great so instead of getting intimidated about it I get excited about it and I come into agreement with what God says about me it is what God says about my future it might look that but there's light at the end of the tunnel because I have a choice which voice am I going to honor when Eve was tempted in the garden she had a choice would three should choose from our promises are always like that we're put in the garden and there's a choice to eat what the enemy tells you to eat or eat what God tells you thee I remember him seventeen years of age we had another prophet coming to town to do where youth camp and I haven't we haven't Italian youth pastor and Heath he cried a lot he's Italian all the time crying well one time I went up to his crying us of why you're crying he goes I'm not crying I said well why is your head leaking then here in I decided I'm not going to go to the youth camp because I had come into agreement that I couldn't do what that fifteen-year-old prophet I had when I was fifteen year old that prophecy I didn't want another prophecy puts pressure on my youth parts of rings when he says hey Russell you coming to camp I'm why he goes I was in prayer and I'm like yeah he said God spoke to me that you don't want to come to youth camp because you don't want another prophecy I'm like God can we have some secrets do you have to tell my mom and now my youth pastor could you just keep it between you and me he starts crying please come I came this is like 20 plus years ago and the Prophet was so good that he was reading people's emails and they weren't even invented that's how good he was some like oh I didn't know he knows well not then they fell in you for some food someone just started learning email last week by the way I'm creating a new social media platform I'm putting YouTube Twitter and Facebook together I'm going to call it you twit face put it all together [Applause] not confusing anymore so I gave this you Cantonese prophesy and I'm all right dad I'll give you an opportunity you can prophesy over me and I go at the front you know you said those lines that you line up in the proper would come down and and you stand there and you pretend you're getting into God but you're really listening what's going there and so the more closer they'd get the more hungry you'd look so he gets to me it's prophesied over everyone looks at me I've got my eyes closed but I'm squinting my eyes are closed anyway but you know someone once wrote on on line about me that there's something wrong about in because he's got squinty eyes because the eyes are a gateway to the soul I might well blame God he's the one who made my eyes squinty Oh God some looking at any it goes past I'm not mad I'm like God I gave you an opportunity that's it you're not finished nada bye-bye see you later alligator I go to my room and my youth parser follows me he's crying again he says don't give up uncle I haven't even told anyone hmm suddenly happen overnight and my sleep but in the morning I had this feeling god I I just want you I don't care just one you the preacher preach I don't know what older call it was a lot about it could have been if you a murderer come forward and I came for I don't know what it was about but I remember standing at an altar alt AR because altars of places to altar alt er and I stood there and had my hands raised and I said Jesus I love you and he says Russell I love you I said Jesus I love you he said Russell I love you he said I want to use you and I'm like but I can't communicate you see some people go I feel use if you're useful you'll be use if you are no you won't be used so take it as a compliment the people want to use you and God want to use you and I'm right there he says I want to use your services but I can't communicate which wasn't true I could he says yes you can I said how he said here's my power acts 1:8 says and you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you to be my witnesses in Jerusalem Judea Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth that word power means ability efficiency and might yes I had to develop my skill of speaking and ministering but there was something supernatural that happened that day I came into agreement with the Word of God instead of the lie of the enemy and I said God Here I am use me to take your kingdom to this world and there are people in this room right now and you've lived your life and yet this times you've aggrieved coming to agreement with what God says and God has blessed you there's other times you have agreed what God says that it didn't happen the first time and you've gone into disappointment it's time to turn it around and say God I'm going to honor what you said about my children and and honor what you said about my finance I'm going to honor what you said about my health I'm going to honor what your word says because what you say is bigger than what I face what you say it's bigger than what we've spoken about me because you are God and I honor you and I give weight to you so I received from you that day and from that day on I've made a decision I'm going to give weight to what God says now 20-plus years later I get to speak in crowds of 250,000 people our church is the fastest growing church in Australian history in 13 years it's grown to over 14,000 people had over 60,000 decisions for Christ and we don't have Easter like you most people don't come to church at Easter so we don't get a lot more saved at Easter week this is just consistently every week it's crazy we get to play I get to minister in places that I go how do I get here we were last week in Qatar in Qatar a very strong Muslim nation and their 6,000 people turn up and encounter Jesus then we're in am in dubai and another 6,000 people then Abu Dhabi that and then we go to Manila and fill stadiums and within Europe and God began to take it on our Sunday services on our Sunday services alone 160,000 people watch us online crazy we have we had 19 million views on YouTube on TV in 120 countries to two million people follow us on social media I'm sitting there going how did this happen you know how it happened is because God spoke it and I came into agreement with it what he said and he opened the rent he began a two things that would blow my mind Ephesians chapter 3 verse 20 says now to him who is able to do super abundantly far over and above all we dare ask or think it will only be on the highest prayers thoughts or hopes why to him be the glory in the church I'll close with this see God wants to bless you so much why because he loves you yes but he also wants to show you what he's like and he wants to show the world what he's like through you when my wife and I got married and if I took her I took her on a honeymoon and we came back and if she was there in tattered clothes she looked scrap scrubbing she looked this shovel tooth she look bad she was had no shoes should be walking and as she lived in the back shed and I lived in this house it was big I Drive a nice car I look slick I wore all the good clothes you would look at me and you would say neglectful husband you would say that because here I am living blessed and she's living not bless see God's reflection of who he is is in his bride so the reason why God wants to bless you not just because he loves you but he loves everyone else out there and he says I want to show off my children so my children will attract my children will say hey hey come and he's also a father he wants to show off what you're like he want to show who he is for you but how how that happens is honor is the key that unlocks faith which releases abundance I'm standing here today not the most super talented coolest Pervis person in the world you know I dress pretty cool but I'm standing here today and touch literally millions and millions and millions of people not because of anything other than I said I honor what you say God over what the enemy says so because I want to get invited back I need to stop now I'm a pastor some of you have to come out of agreement with some things that you've accepted so I come out of agreement with that I'm sorry God about that and coming to agreement with his promise which is yes and you are the Amen to his yes so in closing if you are here today and you say I need to come out of agreement with some lives I've honored some lives I honored in security but then I honor destiny and my life shifted doesn't mean I began the most perfect speaker over night still armed but I honored what God says and he says I'm going to give you ability efficiency and might that will blow your mind so if you're in this place right now and you say Russell I need to come out of agreement with some things maybe it's I just accept this sickness oh I just accept this I I'm hoping hoping that my children I'm hoping for it but you don't really really believe it because you actually down and today you need to say I'm going to come out of agreement with doubt and they come in agreement with truth that you I want you to stand your feet really quickly that you I'm not going to pray long yeah thank you for your honesty thank you that's why this church is so good because you're honest will we do this would you pray after me just real quickly Jesus today I come out of agreement with any lie any disappointment and he heard that the enemy tried to get me to agree with I repent for agreeing with that right now Jesus instead I come into agreement with your word would you lift your hands heaven just remember I come into agreement with your word with your power with your anointing with your blessings with your promises and they say yes and amen I honor your word over my family over my finances over my health over this city over this nation I receive everything that you have for me and I will give you glory and I'll give you praise in Jesus name and if you believe that would you give him a shout of praise and thank you [Applause]
