Varney peacocking Dothan Alabama to the n-double-a-cp former chair and president of the Dothan chapter mr. a WA cocky to the past chair of the board of the n-double a-c-p national sister Rosslyn McAllister Brock to the first mother of relentless Church Missionary alice gray to the head of the choir for the pastor Todd Vaughn Travis Galbraith pastor Christopher Demetrius Lawson and the pastor Anna danique are golden members Saints and Friends I'm honored to be with you on today not today but on today you ain't Baptist until you say on today I fell asleep pastor aventure and I woke up and I felt like I was in money Mississippi as they were pulling the body of Emmett Till out of the river and then I went back to sleep and I woke up and his body was in Chicago and his mother Mamie had a choice to make do I keep the casket closed because of the horror of what they did to my baby or do I leave it open and show the world what they did and she left the casket open and in doing so sparked a movement because sometimes you have to look at the horror to spark change I woke up in Brown versus Topeka had been rendered by the Supreme Court that there is no such thing as separate and equal I woke up and the Montgomery bus boycott was in full effect in Montgomery Alabama headed by a little short woman who just said no I don't I don't think I'm gonna move today and her action was sparked by the picture of Emmett Till so one thing was connected to the other a young man who died unjustly sparked a movement that would break the back of Jim Crow in the south as we knew it then I fell back asleep and woke up and we were on the National Mall whereby art Rustin and the rest of the unseen heroes who orchestrated the civil rights movement had brought hundreds of thousands of people to the march on Washington and there was a young minister from Atlanta who was the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church aha brilliant Morehouse graduated got his doctorate degree and could speak like very few people have ever been gifted to speak and he said something real simple I have a dream then one day and out of his mouth and into history his words echo echo echo then I I fell asleep again and woke up and later in 1963 a president was assassinated in all the sudden the leaders started dying one by one they didn't die they were killed JFK RFK Medgar Evers Malcolm X dr. King and into the 70s blacksploitation films filled the movie theaters and we were no longer fathers husbands leaders we were pimps prostitutes and drug addicts and into the 80s an expression called hip-hop came out of New York to express the pain and the frustration but then it was bastardized and monetized and then it became gangsta rap and there we are again being pimps prostitutes hustlers and our women are everything but a child of God and they call it freedom of speech and at the same time the convergence of this part of the culture was giving way to the other side where there was name it claim it blab it grab it and the church was coming up on this side and if you say this and if you give that then you'll get that in return and in the midst of the pain and the anguish there was no national leadership and Jesus was becoming further and further and further and further pushed to the back of the conversation now fast forward to 2020 the year of clarified vision yeah right nobody saw this coming ah but there were whispers in the wind cuz I know of a church where a pastor said get your water get your food get your stuff because something's coming I know it I was there when he said it he said it last year a whole year ago and people looked at him like he was crazy but he ain't crazy now he's a prophet and I want to speak to every prophetic voice they won't like you when you say it but they'll respect you when it happens keep crying aloud and sparing not and then not even a month and a few days ago there was a man in Minneapolis and over a twenty dollar discrepancy lost his life I can't breathe mama help in the cries of a man shackle caused a tsunami an earthquake of revolutionary activity most of it good some of it not but all of it real and so here we are in the church because it seems like the illusion of unity has given way to the reality of the disparities from an economic social spiritual and conventional construct and so here we are we can no longer live in the place of neutral you must choose the echo of the Prophet choose ye this day whom you will serve this ain't a black and white issue it's a right and wrong issue it's about injustice and justice and so let's go back to when there were three television stations ABC NBC and CBS you can be seated do not adjust your computer screen the color is what it is because you're gonna need to make a decision on what side you're going to be on it's black and white it's plain to see and for those taking notes I want you to write this down it's going to be a short homiletic expression the title of this moment is wind change comes the man of God said a change is gonna come and if I might add that was one of the greatest expressions of that song I have ever heard absolutely phenomenal but what do you do when change comes Eldar and what are you going to do now that change has arrived what does change look like what is the responsibility of change and how do we remain accountable to one another in the midst of change and before you turn off this message this is not a political speech stay and listen and for those who saw the signs but didn't read the words I'd ask you to go back and rewind and see what was on the signs and if you didn't I will help you because in a moment I may ask some of them to come back up with their signs because I need you to see that there's a difference between politics and spirituality Luke chapter four starting at the fourteenth verse then Jesus returned in the power of the spirit to Galilee and news of him went out through all the surrounding region tell somebody they're talking about you say it over there you got somebody next to you they talking about say it at your house they talking about you let them talk they've been talking let them talk now you were made for this moment you were created for this moment everything that you've walked through has prepared you for this moment I got a text from my cousin it's my cousin by marriage but he's my cousin Muggsy that's my guy and he said he said your voice is needed in this moment he said you were created for this moment he's one of them sneaky prophets cuz he you know he's an engineer loves his wife got a beautiful wife beautiful boys he's a great man and happy Father's Day just in case you're watching cousin and I text him in that moment and I said you don't know how much I needed this because when you make a decision on how you're gonna live your life they're gonna be people and spirits that are opposed to your choice but you got to make a decision for what the Bible says in spite of what people say Jesus returned and the news went out through all the surrounding region and he taught in their synagogues being glorified by all very important that if there is a message of unity it must start in the church can I get an amen from the few leaders that are here for the people at home see it's time out for us to assume that all of the leadership is coming from Washington DC I'm telling you God is raising up leaders at the church down the street he's raising up leaders at the community center around the corner he's raising up leaders from single moms and married couples and Millennials and Gen Y and Gen Z and he's raising up people from black to white to Hispanic to Asian to Native American saying right is right if no one is for it and wrong is wrong if everyone is for it I need some help all around the world today if you know that God is raising up leaders that will not compromise for the sake of convenience so he came to Nazareth where he had been brought up and as his custom was he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read I love this this is deep to me this is the first time that we hear that Jesus customarily routinely stood up to read in the synagogue just because it's the first time it's recorded doesn't mean it's the first time that it happened I want to speak to the people who other people want to mute your voice because they didn't know that you've been about this business even before the camera showed up even before it became popular on the internet and on social media I need you to know no one validates your voice because they didn't create you and they didn't give you the voice so you need to keep speaking you need to keep moving you need to keep marching because God made you not in front of the stage butts or the stage I need a praise break right [Music] till somebody I was made for the stage not on the stage it's show time now God made you for this moment don't apologize for it and so he was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah and when he had opened the book he found the place where it was written the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted to proclaim Liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind to set at liberty those who are oppressed to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord then he closed the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down in the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on him and he began to say to them today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing so all bore witness to him and marveled at the gracious words words which proceeded out of his mouth and they said is this not Joseph's son may the Lord had a blessing to the reading of his word you may be seated is this not Joseph's son when change comes let me get straight to the core of my message and work backwards at the intersection of faith culture and social justice is the person of Jesus Christ it's quiet again elder I must say it at the intersection of faith culture and social justice is the person of Jesus Christ you cannot have social justice without reconciling the man Jesus Christ he is the totality of divinity and the best of humanity wrapped in one body he is he is the consolation of heaven he is the fulfillment of the promises that had been prophesied in the you cannot have a conversation about justice without having a conversation about Jesus and those who want to speak to the political ideology behind justice and equality will find an end to their particular concern because legislation can never change the human heart we have seen it over and over again we can cancel everything out we can legislate whatever we want but people are still going to hate other people people will still try to oppress other people people will always be ugly to other people because some people need to have power over other people and people need to feel valuable above other people so there will always be people who will kick against the goads I don't care what you say I don't care what you're talking about our lives matter which is a nice way of saying your life doesn't matter as much as mine nobody wants to say man you don't have to I'm not here anymore for your amens we don't need more policies we need peace we don't need more news stories we need renewed minds uh-huh we don't need more entertainment we need more inner healing we cannot keep walking around the mountain of apathy we must seize the day and apprehend the moment it's time for those who have been called by the name of Jesus Christ to step out of the shadows and into the forefront and become everything that God has asked you and I to be for thousands of years the patriarchs from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob we're crying out and longing for the consolation of Israel Deuteronomy 18 Moses speaks that there is one coming a prophet and him you must hear in all things he was speaking to the person of Jesus Christ from 400 years of enslavement in Egypt to the sudden supernatural declaration of let my people go in Exodus 12 at the end of the death of the firstborn Egypt's Pharaoh had to let God's people go and while you go take some silver take some gold take some articles of clothing and I'm prophesy or every single one of us who have been in a place of enslavement to either a person or a thing or a spirit or a habit I'm declaring that you are coming out and not only are you coming out you're coming out with stuff you're coming out with the ability to make a new name for your family you're coming out with the ability to put your family in a different position than the generations that preceded you I declare about the power of the Holy Ghost and I wish I had some help in here that God is about to move by his spirit and he's bringing you into a spacious place a change has come the title is wind change comes Jesus arrived on the scene publicly in this scripture in Luke chapter 4 he shows up they've been talking about him there was a whisper but they didn't really know who he was and I'm just want to speak to the people who've been talking about you but they don't really know who you are they think they know but they don't know who you are help me Holy Ghost help me with my sweaty neck Jesus I know they think they know you I know they saw you in different iterations of your growth in times past but they don't know what God was doing in the secret place they don't know what God was doing in the darkness they don't know what God was doing in the prayer room they don't know what God was doing when no one was looking and what God was doing when no one was looking is preparing you for the moment when everybody is looking I need a three and a half second praise break I need something to stir in this atmosphere I bind that stale demon that makes you think that you are only what you've experienced your experiences have prepared you for this moment Jesus shows up he's let me get that book he goes right to where the father tells him to read and he said the Spirit of the Living God is upon me cuz I'm anointed we could freeze right there anything that comes after that is all gravy he just said the cake the cake is the anointing I don't need you to be talented I need you to be anointed I don't need you to be connected I need you to be anointed I don't need you to be eloquent in your speech I don't need you to be amazing in your deportment I don't care how nice your clothes hang off your shoulders all of that is surface stuff we've had enough orators I need a Holy Ghost word I need somebody that's anointed I don't care if you can sing real good are you anointed I don't care how talented and how many runs you can do are you anointed are you filled with the Holy Ghost do you have the mighty burning fire on the inside ah do you have a prayer language at your house so you got good English when you're outside the house [Music] if you can if you can do so safely high-five somebody asked him are you anointed I said ask him are you anointed I don't need another talent show in my life called a church service did you hear what I said I don't care that you pressed your clothes the night before I don't care that y'all worked out y'all runs inside of the run I don't care ma'am or sir how you pressed your robe I don't care if you memorize the scripture and your entire oratorical presentation if the Holy Ghost isn't on it you just wasted your time [Music] I'd rather be filled with the Holy Ghost then to be celebrated by people because people will clap for you and then they'll walk right out of your life let me help you to understand something about God in this season he wants to know who do you belong to two people or to me and in this season God says if you belong to me I will speak through you in a way that the world will have to recognize and Devils will have to bow down and I'll even make your enemies be at peace with you are you anointed the spirit of the Living God is upon me because he is anointed me to preach the good news to the poor the recovery of sight to the blind to set at liberty the captives to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord are you anointed for this moment does your heart will up with anger at the sight of injustice somebody bring me a couple of those signs just stand up near me on one shoulder and on the other socially distant please so we don't get in trouble by the internet police cuz you know it's always somebody somewhere hate and don't want to hear the word all they want to look at is what's wrong and I need you to get free from the people who have 38 followers and they got a private page putting paragraphs under your posts you need to get the spirit of block and delete on you everybody is not welcome on your platform because God gave it to you give me this sign young man hurry quickly give me the sign get me the sign it says hope I need you to understand hope is not a political slogan hope is a man come on come up here I need you to see that forgiving is a gift and it came from the giver forgiveness is a man unity is a man equality comes from a man justice comes from a man love is a man and the man's name is Jesus I wish I had some help in here don't politicize what belongs to Jesus I need you to read them right now hope forgiveness unity equality love reconciliation hurry quickly quickly quickly reconciliation the Bible says in Corinthians we've all been given the Ministry of reconciliation I'm talking Bible in here ha ha ha I need you to understand I don't normally preach like this uh-huh but I've been in churches mm-hmm brother pastor PJ I need yeah uh-huh yeah I don't normally preach like this ah but I need somebody to understand brother Tim can you give me something on the drums too as well uh-huh see every now and then you need to go back to where you came from uh-huh you and me below to Jesus forgiveness unity hope reconciliation equality justice love healing thank y'all thank y'all thank you these are not political slogans this is the reality of the person of Jesus pastor have nobody he's caught it till right now the things y'all are asking for are found in Jesus anybody ready to be a part of a movement let me see your hands if you're ready to be a part of a movement they call it the civil rights movement well I want to call this the Holy Ghost movement yeah because it's time for you to discern the times discover your purpose and declare your intentions I'm gonna say it again you need to discern the times discover your purpose and declare your intentions you need to discern this ain't playtime this is war time if you don't have a prayer life you better get a prayer life today why do you think the Holy Ghost cut off all your sports all your movies all your restaurants all you got is them green beans in the in the cupboard some Hamburger Helper and some applesauce for the kids and a Holy Ghost waiting on you to come talk you better discern the times I'm almost done I'm I'm rounding third and heading for home LeMond it long discern the times it's not a time to play games it's a time to get in your prayer closet discover your purpose stop living accidentally live intentionally did you hear what I said live with intentionality the conversation requires that you are intentional about this moment number three declare your intentions that means you need to let the world know where you stand in what you're gonna do ask for me in my house we're gonna serve the Lord I know we grew up here here in here and I don't understand all the nuances of all of the political aspects but I just know right is right and wrong is wrong and we're gonna be on the side of right are you gonna be a generation of head shakers that is a shame look what's going on on TV well I'm we'll just lock my doors no we can't be a generation of hand shakers you got to be a generation of foot movers I need some foot movers in here I know you can't walk around cuz we got to maintain our but you can step right where you are you need to step in the name of love Oh step step side to side okay never mind I'm back I'm back I'm back I'm back but I need you to move your feet right where you are because you need to move away from apathy you need to move away from fear you need to move away from insecurity it's time for you to start moving your feet stop shaking your head and start moving your feet it is my prayer that we will not allow the darker angels of our nature to force us into the shadows of history I pray that we will break free from our insecurities and boldly declare the will of God change has come and it's come in the person of Jesus Christ it's time to move say it out loud it's time to move in a movement always takes on the personality of its leader you better preach I'm trying I said a movement always takes on the personality of its leader so if we're going to move the way our leader moved that you're gonna have to study who he was and how he interacted with people I know my time is coming to a close but how did Jesus move he moved with courage conviction and compassion I'll say it again he moved with courage conviction and compassion there were people trying to kill Jesus from the very beginning of his ministry it didn't stop him from preaching under threat of death or under threat of being unpopular speak the Word of God live a life that honors God don't worry about what people have to say about you walk with courage walk with conviction I know what I believe you're not gonna talk me down from my faith I'm gonna stand right here and I'm gonna be right here and you can say whatever you want you can call me everything but a child of God but I am determined in my spirit not to move from this place I've got conviction and I'm not moved because you want me to bow down to your will I'm gonna stand in my truth Jesus was a man of great courage great convictions and also great compassion the Bible records over and over that Jesus had compassion on the multitude he always served pastor Robert even when he was tired even when there was no food he was a a you give him something to eat what we got we got some fish we got some loaves break it up by the time it was over there were how many baskets left Charles twelve mommy I asked Charles I know you know my mom over he's like 12 you know why it was one basket for every disciple that doubted I need something to break in here not only is guy gonna feel you up he gonna leave something for your doubters he's gonna leave something for them to say you know what I'm gonna give you a little something just because you didn't think I could do it I'm gonna go ahead and just drop something off to you not only is he gonna give over flow to you he's gonna leave a basket for the doubter Jesus was a man of courage conviction and compassion he was also a man of persistence prayer and power Oh help me Holy Ghost he was persistent when he got away from his father he made sure was executed until it was done help me Jesus I'm blind he said come on let's get out of the city he put his hands on him he says what do you see I see men like trees walking okay let me put my hands on you again he was persistent he didn't stop if it didn't work the first time he went on back don't talk to me about Jesus giving up he never gave up if God told him to do it if the father told him to do it he was dogged ly determined to get it done help me Holy Ghost when when Lazarus died he said listen I you know this sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God that the Son of God might be glorified he's dead I said he's not dead he is dead he's not dead let's stay here a few more days let's make sure he's in the ground and stinking cuz I'm gonna show y'all something about persistence I said what it was gonna be and I'm gonna go show up and make sure that the word I spoke is the thing I see he was persistent and if you don't believe it look at your life because he's been persistent in running after you speaking over you and then bringing it to pass and if you ain't never gone worship at another moment in this service you might as well give God praise now because you are the evidence that he does not give up I wish I had a shelf in here you are the evidence that God doesn't give up [Music] persistence prayer and then power somebody say power I need you to understand that Jesus displayed his power every day that he got up every day interrupting funerals power uh-huh compassionate power prostitute at the Pharisees house you are forgiven you are restored power mixed with compassion don't tell me that your you got power if you don't have compassion with your power don't tell me you got power if you don't have power and mercy don't tell me you have power if you don't have power and forgiveness don't tell me you have power if you don't have power and discernment that's I'm some of y'all mean justice people get what they deserve you need to thank God that God is not a God who gives what you deserve because if you got what you deserved you wouldn't even be looking at me right now you'll be looking up from the flames of hell but God in His mercy let his son die so that he could give you justice you don't deserve somebody say power Jesus was persistent he was a man of power and he used his power wisely but he was also a man of prayer every time you see Jesus do something crazy it just come out of prayer at the Mount of Transfiguration then he comes down in the Garden of Gethsemane then he goes to the cross before he announced to the disciples where he was in prayer all night who am i rocking with who's gonna be a part of the movement and them guys didn't have no clue that they were gonna be world changes they just wanted to follow them she act they didn't know that it was gonna cost him their lives John didn't know he would be at the Isle of Patmos Thomas didn't know that he'd be doubting Peter didn't know that he'd deny him three times nobody knew what it was gonna cost him help me Holy Ghost but at the end of their life after being boiled in oil John was still writing the book of Revelation Peter at the end of his life and they were getting ready to crucify me said uh-uh-uh not right-side-up but upside down I don't deserve to die the way my Savior did they went from ordinary men looking for a leader to extraordinary men that changed the world because they look on the personality of their leader I feel God in here if you're gonna be a part of a movement pastor Robert you got to take on the personality of your leader he was courageous walked in his convictions filled with compassion he was a man of persistence a man of Prayer and a man of power but then he was three final things get this in your spirit he was a worship her oh yes he was you don't get that kind of power without having a worship life there are times when he'd be praying as a father I thank you that you hid this from the wise and showed it to the little kids I love you you're so amazing he would worship in front of people he would talk out loud he said father glorify your name God shouted back at him I have glorified it and I will glorify it again and only he heard it the rest of them thought they heard thunder but he heard a voice that's the difference between walking with Him and just being in the crowd because when you're walking with him you'll hear what other people think is gibberish and they won't it won't make sense to them but it'll be crystal clear to you I wish I had somebody in here other people think you crazy but God spoke to you Jesus was a worshiper he was also a warrior oh yes he was he fought for what he believed in pastor DeMarcus and he never gave up he never quit he never bowed down in fact it's recorded in Scripture that when they came to arrest him they said are you Jesus of Nazareth this is recorded in Scripture he said I am and when he said I am which is Yahweh everybody who came to arrest him actually bowed down and fell on their face I need you to understand they didn't choose to follow in their face they had to follow in their face because they were in the presence of the one who made their face and even your enemies will have to bow down because they're only on assignment to elevate you to where you're supposed to go did you hear what I said Jesus was a warrior he said let me just flex on y'all real quick I am now bow down everybody fell they didn't know what to do he was he gonna kill us no no I still got to die just in case you asked for forgiveness I can't kill you till you get a chance to repent I can't stand Church they want to put everybody in hell but I'm giving them a chance to repent and the main ones putting people in Hell the nastiest ones they be the main ones all kind of stuff at the house sneaking up under the cabinet all kinds of stuff on your search engine but you want to put everybody else in hell better sit down and shut up somewhere and leave the judgment to God and you better thank him that they don't know what you're going through and what you dealing with why are you putting everybody else in the flames Jesus was a worshiper he was a warrior finally he was a winner when change comes changes marked by courage conviction compassion persistence prayer power worship warriors mentality and finally winning the victory is in front of us when change comes now I need you to know that in Jesus change has come change is not an idea changes a man his name is Yeshua HaMashiach and as I close this message may you go from black and white to a full-color picture to understand that it's time for you to step up step out and step on into destiny Jesus is waiting for you he did his part now you have the keys drive the car take us where we're called to go it's your turn now it's your time now Father in the name of Jesus seal this word for change has come and the person of Jesus Christ and I pray by the power of the Holy Spirit that you will fill us with fresh wind clear direction and laser-like focus so we can do everything we were created to do this God is my prayer in Jesus name Amen if you're here you've never given your life to Jesus this is your opportunity to do so if you're never given your life to Jesus the change you need starts with him he's waiting on you he's calling for you if you've never given your life to Jesus let me ask you to pray this short prayer with me now Lord Jesus is me I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord thank you for the blood that was shed for me I receive the free gift of salvation not through my works but the finished work of the cross the blood is enough to make me right with you father and I'm grateful that my past can no longer define me and my sins can no longer find me you are my Savior and my lord the finished work of the Cross has been credited to my account and today I am made new in Jesus name Amen if you prayed that prayer for the first time or you prayed an iteration of that prayer in a different season of your life made some bad decisions but our coming home today welcome home I declare that you are not only saved when you are filled with the Holy Spirit and pray this prayer with me Holy Spirit come live inside teach me the ways of Jesus so that I look more like Jesus each and every day if you prayed this prayer not only do you have the promise of the Holy Spirit you are now firmly written in the Lamb's Book of Life you're gonna live forever but now the rest of your life has been unlocked for destiny so today we welcome you home and relentless would love to be your church we have tools to keep you connected and we would love the opportunity to cover you and to help nurture what's inside of you go ahead and text the number at the bottom of the screen tech saved to that number so that we can follow up with you this week so grateful for you and on this Father's Day I make this final observation of Jesus they said is this not Joseph's son they only saw the human side but didn't see the seed of the eternal many theologians believe that by the time Jesus began his earthly ministry Joseph had already died so he didn't have a physical father in front of him which makes his prayer life even more remarkable because he knew that if he didn't hear from his father he wasn't going to be able to fulfill his calling and my prayer on this Father's Day is that you and I who are fathers grandfathers covers of children young people missions ministries movements businesses will seek the Abba Father the daddy God who will give us the wisdom insight and discernment to break generational curses and to live a life where with we have been called the vocation that is assigned to our lives we love you I love you we celebrate you may the Lord bless you and keep you cause his face to shine upon you may the Lord our God be gracious to you show you his favour and give you his peace and for me and my wife and our children to everybody who's in leadership at relentless
