Exploring The Meat Anchor Gold Mine

oh that's a really cool dynamite box you got there i better take that one out for my museum this mine we're going to put the whole mine in the museum so just take it out you know stone by stone oh there's a bunch of light beer in here must have been a bunch of women drinking all right beer a lot of cold air looks like an air conditioner on a nice hot summer day it's your first time going down the mine shaft we're gonna send you down about seven thousand so this is a haulage level right yeah i think so we're going to go down this winds um we were looking at going down one down there wow that goes down quite a ways that's actually a shaft if you look up it exits huh it goes up to the surface you know what i believe i can see the bottom come look in the camera it looks like it's plugged see that [Music] yeah it kind of does that might also just be the bottom everything else goes down about that far okay you can look up and see the surface all right yeah this might have been original workings who knows which way let's take a look i don't know that doesn't really have any infrastructure in it does it that would make it look like a so man way no manual oh that looks that ladder is in great shape yeah yeah all the ladders i've seen look to be in really good shape yeah that doesn't seem to i like the i like the shaft a lot better you don't like the shaft the other one not this one yeah we're doing the other sorry oh i thought you said this one couldn't happen i didn't say the second one but if it goes deeper yeah the ladder drop some dirt down there let's see if there is track going that way and track going this way there's air flow too there's a lot of airflow wow look at that that's interesting that ladder is floating okay yeah you might rig the shaft rig to shaft yeah drop down that is the ladder good not going further down does it go deeper yeah so do we want to so we can we'll get a couple people down i'll climb back this is getting dangerous hold on so tell me what were you going to do we can get everybody down here okay i'll cruise back up break the shaft drop down because we can jump right off here on this level and then we can how big is this level it's this way isn't very big okay does it just go to the shaft it goes a little bit it was let's go a little bit this way in that way and nothing extensive sorry dustin you got it so i guess this way just goes back to the shaft so he's going to go up and rig the shaft because this goes lower boy this is a clean mine look at these drifts this is good hard rock is that one face out right there no actually this takes the around the backside of the shaft oh it does does this go to the shaft interesting bottle on top of the box oh wow one artifact deep i could see the bottom of this though from until the ladder's going down and or cards go to that to dump down so there's either drift level below us or oh yeah there's an issue with that isn't there yeah yeah you're right it almost looks like a plug right there yeah and get down and really take a look at it yeah but this is that ladder there we that the elevator the lift side but going up that doesn't look too bad i can't remember what it looked like at the very top they were good and this is ladder platform yeah yeah i would do this i think it looks like it keeps going over there actually you know what this looks like a gold mine i didn't do any research on this but this looks like a gold mine gold mines are boring gold mines are just yeah they look like this usually so here's the shaft from the other side so that's it it just faces out right there and there's some track yeah this is a typical gold mine so there it's just got that pinkish quartz see that's probably the vein right there let me see if i can that right there golden quartz anyway let's explore this gold mine um foreign okay here's the shaft let's go back past where we came let's go down way so again here's here's the vein um well this is kind of cool except for the dust here's a six sheet for turning our cars around two hundred you find another wins it's not tv so what do we think this is a gold mine yeah just golden courts right um okay ready go for it good yeah i'm good nice it's just dead ends yeah it goes back away about 10 feet 10 feet to the right and it stops huh well you had to check man here we go for checking now we know now we know exactly what's down there exactly be haunting us i bet it's cool down there eat away at our dreams load me up a little bit go ahead because on the way in uh there's another shaft that's been bulldozed over but i'm wondering if that other winds possibly ties into that it could i mean there might be several lower sections of this mine that are accessible that are separate yeah rig up to go down okay he's gonna yeah he's gonna tie off to me and he's gonna go down the main shaft and see if that's a plug or what that is i have your other rope too you got that other 30 in you yeah is that all it is it's 30. it might be long enough um so this row being this small i have to double it back over my top bar so i don't go zipping down i go down just like that what do you mean so usually you know with your rope thick like yeah oh i always use the hyper bar you do oh i don't i do when i lock and when i'm locking off like okay i'm gonna come up there it depends on how much rope with their weight there is on the rope but i usually use the hyper bar yeah a little bit heavier than i am so i usually don't have to i doubt i'm like 160 pounds or so well dude i'm only 90. okay sexy he's got the ready hand okay awesome you're gonna hang out yeah right now here just in case he started uh i'll tell you what let me get up here go ahead let's get this out of the way go ahead please stay a little further back that way if you slide he has time to grab you well i'm going to have my feet on here you know i'm not going anywhere you're going to rip my body in half before you pull me down okay all right then let's go can somebody take a picture of this you should be videoing this dude are you fully loaded on the rope yeah okay jeremy oh you found the car yeah nice the skimp is down there wow in case you didn't hear you found the car down there and apparently a lot of dead stuff down there too is he at the bottom or is it a plug uh he i don't think he can tell yet are you at the bottom or is it plugged i might actually be able to get past this right here okay how much rope do you have left things oh yeah that looks like a gnarly plug yeah it's pretty ugly are you on a level huh are you on a level no i'm getting ready they look solid enough yeah all right i just gotta get through this little squeeze that's i don't know if i call that a little so there's two levels below and what did he say he said uh the one directly below us had rail but no real features just sort of meandered around and then the one below that uh teed off in a few places and just spaced out all right yeah okay gonna wait you boxy go ahead oh boy holy he's about to really wait you he's getting off the plug please leave this stuff when you lower your pack l yeah there you go 1936 kelvinator yeah yeah a kelvinator refrigerator right there oh yep there's the corner i'm not that i don't have that kind of scary there you go nothing but the best i'm going to try going up these ladders this wood this mine is dry and cold and this is the old school rough cut lumber and i'm just a little bit worried about or concerned about what the ladders are sitting on but we'll see i'll inspect the wood you can inspect the wood going up you can't inspect it coming down this is the lagging is broken and it's actually this shaft runs down through a stop the shaft runs down through a stop and it's yeah it's gone yeah a lot that this is the plug what's missing here is what the plug is so that's the problem yeah i'm not uh we'll do the rope this has got to be the most worn ladder i think i've ever seen okay graham is coming up i am going to go finished looking at this level we'll see here's the shaft everybody's coming up and let's just there's a lot of airflow here so a lot of ore shoots okay so here's the other winds going down so this is quartz gold gold in a quartz vein and that's probably the quartz vein right there that you're looking at i can see the face [Music] oh look at that that might be that what they call california ribbon rock here we got a different mineral and that's it it just comes to a face some other interesting mineralization so so we can take a look at this turn see where it goes exactly it just goes to a face rust gold mines are not usually not very interesting at least this type i guess they can have large scopes in them but generally they're older and they're just following a very small vein they took a lot of loads out of that this had a windlass on it hand crank 1955. more of the color so oh god you know i want to get a bumper sticker that says i love glass good dust i love glass dust i'd wear that what on rope on rope okay we're back at the shaft this is the shaft i was attempting to climb and the wood was falling apart as maybe it's a good idea i didn't climb this anyway we got a four directions here that direction goes this direction goes this is the direction we came from it's very dusty in here let's go this direction and see if we can find some more glass dust this is really tight that's it it just faces but look at how rough it is okay so let's go back this way [Music] so we'll go this way oh huh move slowly they tell me move slowly so we can see the details nice vein so definitely this is probably what they were after right here let's see how narrow it is and the deposit was definitely trending in this direction all of a sudden it just the the environment just changed wow and it's a musty musty odor you can clearly see what they were chasing up here all of a sudden it changed to uh a very damp moldy smell and i think we talked about going down this oh wow i think i can see the bottom there again we need to anchor off we need to tie off to something it's not safe to assume that this wood is good even though it does really look good and it's solid you just don't know what's down there out of sight this is interesting though because they were pulling a bucket up this looks pretty solid one five nine nine one three rules like that ensure prostate cancer you get a little bit of webbing on you dead in here jesus christ first level and we were hoping that we might connect to this winds further down on the level we dropped down to but doesn't connect and so those of you seen the first video probably recognize this winds that was off to the far right when you first come in off the shaft so now jeremy has opted to uh drop down there investigate this one see if it ties into anything he's getting set up now and uh monitors progress on the way down and uh hopefully there's something good down there the ladder looks almost good enough to go down uh but it's gonna rope up just as a precaution i can clearly see the bottom with your light light it up again really you can see it looks from where i'm standing it does it looks like it looks like it it's either a platform or it it dead ends right onto the bottom but i don't see any rail so and then i mean with this skipped car they had going up and down it must have something down there though a little famous last words but yeah i die i'm blaming you i'm come back and hunch your ass it was like yeah before 10 in the morning and we asked if we wanted to drink really yeah so you want a beer sure hello how's it look frank oh this is awesome this is probably the coolest thing i've ever seen around a couple of probably two different levels so when you guys are coming down there's some gobbing and a ladder right back here it looks like it's backfield i'm not sure if it keeps going or not all right right here what about on the bottom the dress run off in both directions he's at the bottom is he still on rope yeah he's getting he's not okay now does it drift no it just stopped out huh yeah this is just a it's just a mined out uh they're just following so that's not worth it no that's probably a lot like the one that i went down but just further down yeah the the lower body goes at a the same angle the whole level but uh because when i went out you can see and it just falls in on this yeah just like little pipes of ore
