Excel data in to shapefile in arcgis ( Import Excel data 2017)

[Music] so the best and clearly explained tutorials on Yahoo today I came with a new lesson and which is about how to use Microsoft Office Excel package to make shape files using ArcGIS and the best and clearly explained tutorials are here for you please hit the subscribe button if you haven't yet and hit the bell button down there to get the latest video updates ok let's move to the today's lesson first you have to open your excel file this you were to arrange your excel file in this manner suppose if you have coordinates X Y coordinates the columns should be renamed like this I call it an x coordinate and related attributes should be placed in these columns and the ID number should be available if you can arrange the collected data field data into a safe file like this but it is essential to have coordinates I mean this point data so suppose if this is a one point point 1 4 sample location 1 we have the XY coordinate of the sample location 1 and related attributes of the sample location number 1 with this ID we have coordinates and related attributes right suppose if you collect a soil sample from here you get the XY coordinate and you get the its electrical conductivity or some other properties one what is essential here you need to have a XY coordinate which and every sampling point that you've collected from the field right so after preparing your data set so this is see the info data set and after collecting after arranging and preparing your data set in this manner in excel file you can open your yes software and add dual excel file into yes hope you know how to add data I have already connected into my data folder which is available in the desktop so I'll evacuate my excel file here this is my excel file you can see and I'll click and I open the sheet in the excel file and add in to table of contents so you can see you can see nothing here right so first you need to right click and go to display XY data here click on it and get this X Y field here I'm not choosing I haven't included an easy feeling I'm going to represent a 2d representative method so the X field should be the x and y field should be what you have to set these two according to your column me by field X we should be respected in two things by feeling X with anything okay you do not need to incorporate the chorion system for now after setting these two after specifying x and y's we'll just click OK and table does not have object ID doesn't matter you can just okay and now you can see the data here I think this might be an ear as a single value does matter so suppose these are the data you can see the dead file but this is not a shapefile yet this is an event shapefile this is called an even shape alpha temporary file in the middle of the process what you have to do is now just right-click and you should export this event shapefile to make final shape but I'm going to save it in the test folder I will reign in meat s export output you can give it a name it should be a shape file and click Save and ok right this is how to create a shape file and you can see the table to add the exported and map they just get yes and now we have the shapefile and you can remove this even shapefile you don't need this but so this is the final save file we can simply write if you want you can I will I will show how to remove this error with the before as a bonus tip just click here and it will edit open editor then go to video this is the editor tool the state can get you a tool and start editing to select this data and you can press select and delete then after that you can save edits and so today you can the finalized shapefile without the error right that's a state boom sorry okay hope you learn something new and this is the end of today's lesson I will be back with the NIV lessons so till then and take [Applause]
