I was on my way home after a long night of babysitting when my BFF Sandi called to tell me she was having a pool party at her house there was no way I'd refuse an invitation like that I opened my closet and brought up every penny I'd made that week from babysitting and headed straight for the store to buy a tube of tanning cream even though I'm one of the most popular kids in school I don't come from a rich family like my friends do I have to work hard to keep myself looking this good and I wasn't about to let anyone find out and destroy everything the only person who knew my secret was my best friend sandy I covered my body in the fake tanning cream put on my bikini and headed to the party when I arrived everyone gathered around me and said hey girl you must have spent your entire summer vacation on the beach your tan is out of this world business as usual I managed to turn all heads but then my eyes fell upon a super handsome guy coming out of the pool it was the first time I'd ever seen him I asked sandy who's this but she looked at me and surprised and said that's Jonathan he actually lives next door to you I'd never met Jonathan before in fact I had never met any of our next-door neighbors because I thought they were retired old people well well look like Jonathan might become my new boyfriend for the year then I mean why not but before I allowed my imagination to go any further some girl approached him and kissed him in front of everybody ill disgusting she must be his girlfriend I thought just my luck I'd miss my chance I didn't give him another thought within seconds he was out of my head and it was time to party it up but that Jonathan guy kept following me with his eyes the whole time he was looking at me in such a weird way what did he want for me I tried to ignore him but then he came right up to me and we had possibly the most awkward conversation of my entire life he said hi so I waved at him and smiled but he never said another word and kept on staring at me like a crazy person I tried to think of something to say to try and break the ice so I said you don't have a dog do you know I don't he responded haha yes right of course you don't otherwise I'd have seen you picking up dog poop on our street I replied what had I just that fool was making me nervous but he nodded nonetheless and kept on staring at me I looked away in an attempt to put an end to that farce of a conversation but before I could take another step he yelled oh now I remember I could never forget that body it must be you what is that supposed to mean I thought to myself right before I asked him in a sharp tone what do you mean who the hell are you he responded with a mischievous grin on his face I don't mean to offend you hold on for a minute all I meant to say it was that I remember you you were that girl who used to jump over the fence to get into our backyard to take a couple of bikini shots of herself in front of our swimming pool they must have been for your Instagram account weren't they at that moment his blonde girlfriend joined our weird conversation as well you didn't introduce me to this beauty she said she's that bikini girl I told you about he replied and they both walked away laughing I felt extremely embarrassed and what was even worse than that is that I was scared that they might tell somebody that story about me I can't let any of my friends know that those photos weren't taken at my house the only solution I could think of was ignoring what just happened everything will be all right I thought to myself but what happened in class was something that I never saw coming that ridiculous Jonathan joined the class lately and once he saw me he yelled before everybody hey bikini girl come and sit next to me it was the most horrible day of my entire life that fool kept on following me from one corner to the other calling me bikini girl and the girls who were stuck to him laughed every time he called me that name I couldn't let that happen I walked to him stuck a finger in his face and said listen if you don't stop picking on me I will make sure to ruin your life I will turn you from being the new interesting guy to an outcast but my threats never worked a few days later in chemistry class he told me that he liked me and that he wanted to go out on a date with me that was not going to happen not in this world not in any other world he's that that he wanted to make it up to me for all the trouble that he'd caused me but even if Jonathan was the hottest guy in school I wasn't going to date him no matter what besides he already had we ridiculous girlfriend I refused to go on a date with him but of course he couldn't have no as an answer he yelled in front of everybody oh I see you're one of those girls who prefer one-night stands well then let's do it what was he going to make a [ __ ] out of me now I couldn't accept that so I picked up a purple tube that was on the lab table next to me and threw it in his face he kept on running around the room screaming help me help me my face hurts help me my skin is melting everybody laughed their heads off at the scene the tube contained nothing but soap and water but I spent that day in detention anyways one way or another I felt a great feeling of redemption that I humiliated him in front of everyone but Sandi thought otherwise she thought that Jonathan did not deserve what I did to him so now Jonathan is the victim and I am the villain over the next few days everybody noticed how sandy looked like she was glued to Jonathan it turned out that they had become a couple well that explains everything I didn't tell her my opinion about her new relationship nonetheless sooner or later he was going to dump her and she will come back to me for help besides I was busy working as a babysitter almost every day after school to make enough money for prom I had to look my best everybody shall praise the way I look as usual and Envy me for having such a rich family that provides me with everything that I wish for that will be my final lie then I can go to college and there will be no reason to ever lie to anyone I loaded myself with so much work that I didn't know what was going on around me a few weeks later I met sandy at school I approached her and said hi beautiful how is it going with you and your new lover but she turned around and left without even answering my question I later knew that Jonathan broke up with her after he had told me that he was in love with me and that he couldn't stop thinking about me that's why their relationship did not work poor sandy that must have torn her into pieces but what did I do wrong I didn't know about anything that happened in the night I was coming back from work and I glimpsed Jonathan from far away he was wearing very funny looking for challahs it had the Simpsons on it he was carrying big bags of trash with both hands when he tried to lift the first bag to throw it in the trash can the bag broke and all the trash fell over his head I managed to take a photo of him though it was hilarious I sent the photo to Sandy along with a text message that said he got what he deserved sandy posted his picture on Facebook and captioned it trash lives in trash it wasn't nice of her at all though on the next day I started receiving text from Jonathan sandy told him that I was the one who took the picture he was infuriated by what happened and wanted to take revenge why does that happen to me sandy definitely didn't have to tell him that I was the one who sent her the picture I didn't need to humiliate him I only wanted to put sandy in a better mood that's all from that day on I decided that sandy is no longer my friend friends don't do such things to each other do they that night I went to bed anxious about what Jonathan's revenge might be and I was right to worry in the morning as I stepped out of the house heading to school I found Jonathan standing in front of my house holding a picture of me that particular picture was a shock to me it was a disaster that picture would no doubt in my life if anyone ever saw it how did you get this picture I asked him but he laughed and said it doesn't matter what matters is that I have it now I asked him what do you want a simple request go to prom with me he said that fool I hate him beyond words I don't want to betray sandy I also don't want anyone to see that picture of me where else my life will be ruined for sure he can't be serious I had no choice but to agree to go to prom with him two days later I waited all my life for that day and I spent the last few months of my life working and studying so that I could save enough money for that day and there I was standing watching everything come crashing down instead of being the best day of my life but if that was going to be the case for me I won't settle for anything other than making that exact day the worst day of Jonathan's life as well but don't you find it weird that Jonathan appeared out of thin air and started to ruin everything around us all of a sudden after he had been out of sight for so many years I asked around a logout Jonathan I asked neighbors about him I searched google this guy was too good to be true I couldn't find any dirt on him but I wasn't done with him he had ruined the friendship between saying me he wasn't gonna get away with it so I checked his Facebook profile again but after six hours of editing his profile picture I got the results I was hoping for I know I know it's a fake picture and all that but it looked totally real what do you think that all my followers on Instagram just popped out of nowhere I always edit my pictures and no one can tell they're fake I now need nothing but the right moment to make him the laughingstock of the entire school on prom night when I entered the ballroom I saw sandy I tried to talk to her but she looked at me with a straight face and said what do you want now didn't you get what you always wanted from the start get the hell out of my face you did enough already I waited until it was finally time for the couples to dance I went on stage held the microphone and said Jonathan can I have your attention for a minute everybody everybody can I have your attention please we have lately been joined by an amazing handsome guy my date for tonight for a moment Jonathan had a smile on his face but it wasn't long before his smile turned into tears when I said that guy tried to ruin my life and he also enjoyed breaking my best friend's heart I am here today to avenge sandy sandy this is your revenge it was Jonathan's picture with a puppy tied to a tree the puppy was bleeding and Jonathan was standing there holding a stick covered with blood and smiling silence took over the room and everyone looked so shocked to the point where one of the girls yelled you're a monster and then she attacked him and started beating him with all of her force and it kind of felt good because this guy deserved it it is true that he didn't actually hurt that dog but he had hurt me and broke my best friend's heart you might be thinking that that was the perfect ending didn't you but Jonathan came ready as well he yelled at everybody this brat who's manipulating you who's claiming beauty and perfection is actually a fake ugly scammer this picture my dear friends was sent to me by Sandy her best friend that hates her guts and he threw a bunch of papers that were in his bag in the air so that everyone present could have a copy it was the exact photo that I begged him not to show anyone it was a photo of me putting fake tan on my body which by the way convinced everyone that I was having a vacation on the beach now everyone knows I'm a liar for a few moments I felt as if I was unable to breathe is my life going to end right here right now I kept asking myself everyone grabbed a copy of my photo and started laughing but my friends including sandy approached me and told me that they had known the truth about me for a very long time that was heartwarming somehow maybe I should have told them the truth from the start she stepped forward and said it is true that that picture is hilarious but that's because it's real not only for my friend but for all of us who can tell me that they have never used fake tan on their body or even makeup with a few words sandy got everybody angry at Jonathan again one of my buff guy friends stepped forward and picked up Jonathan and threw him in the dirty water and said you better run before I tie you to the same tree that you tied that puppy to there was a no doubt that seeing Jonathan running naked with dirt on his body was one of the best scenes I ever witnessed he deserves what he got from messing with the wrong people
