cuphead is known for its difficulty and his boss fights but if you just thought the boss fights were difficult you've seen nothing yet what's good youtube i'm smools and today we're going to be ranking the cuphead running gun levels by difficulty the running guns aren't nearly talked about as much for some reason and it's kind of odd considering how difficult and diverse each and every level is each one is a new platforming challenge kind of like the subspace emissary from super smash brothers brawl so the rules for this list are pretty self-explanatory if you enjoy please be sure to hit the like button it really helps with the youtube algorithm and without further ado let's get started number six forest follies being basically a glorified expansion of the tutorial it's pretty unarguable that forest follies is the easiest run and gun level in all of cuphead this level is pretty much more oriented around fighting the enemies themselves rather than difficult and precise platforming which is definitely much easier to handle in a game like cuphead and some of the more difficult levels there's a common theme of too much going on at once becoming really overwhelming because you have to worry about platforming enemies all at the same time and forest follies works really well as a stepping stone level because it shows you what the deal is without that overwhelming feeling there aren't really any especially notable sections or any business level you just really need to pay attention to the floating flower guys and the acorns falling out of the sky and beware the mini blueberry guys i guess because they're immortal for some reason the only mini boss is the acorn maker which is honestly no sweat but don't get don't let this lead you into a false sense of security right after the training wheels come off these running guns get insanely difficult even hellish number five fun fair fever forest follies and funfair fever are the only two levels i'd go and consider somewhat mild i feel like there may be some arguments saying that funfair fever is a little more difficult than i claim but i feel like most of the difficulty comes from the lack of knowledge about the level itself when i first tackled this level i struggled with the first part with the balloons because i didn't realize that shooting them caused the bullet spread and it screwed me over for my beginning attempts and same goes with the cannibals section since i didn't know the timing and patterns yet and how to properly navigate the platforms before they fall over besides that there really isn't anything difficult about this level i mean come on most of it's almost completely flat with little enemy spam to overwhelm you the only really difficult area is the cannibal area but like i said with experience it becomes really easy and it you could just learn how to optimally navigate the platforms there is a tiny mini boss at the end but i mean come on it's a pushover it's just a hot dog that chucks condiments at you while navigating these huge platforms remove painfully slow and or a piece of cake to get past overall i'd say it's just slightly more difficult than forrest frollies but it definitely isn't in a league of its own and i'd even consider it moderately mild the second level of inkwell isles one turns the difficulty meter from a chill mild to a mouth burning spicy you know when i said that forest follies focuses on enemies of our platforming to keep you from being overwhelmed yeah well treetop trouble just says screw that and throws in a handful both vertical and horizontal platforming challenges all while dodging countless enemies spamming projectiles at you the first section is a bunch of tedious bouncing enemies with giant birds blocking your path making it very easy to take a hitter to which isn't the end of the world but it will definitely come back to haunt you the next section is a vertical platforming area with tree stump monsters constantly firing projectiles at you giving you no time to settle on the tiny ass platforms and it forces you to constantly keep a keen eye and stay on your toes the next section is back to the good old horizontal song and dance but the platforms are tiny now and they constantly keep getting eliminated by fire coming from the bottom of the screen the final section has a few of these disposable platforms but you're forced to fight a mini boss who constantly harasses you while holding on to the little ground you have it can get really stressful if you don't have the proper skill set to handle a situation where you gotta platform and shoot all at the same time overall it's a decently difficult level for beginners but with proper cuphead skill and technique it's not too much of a road bump it's definitely still a huge difficulty spike compared to forest follies and funfair fever number three funhouse frazzle i'm not the biggest fan of the circus never have been but i can't stress this enough never talk about the circus or fun house levels in cuphead around me i mean we got beppy the clown which is bad enough but then we have this freaking level funhouse frazzle first things first you gotta run through a small marathon of constantly reversing gravity on a strict margin where if you mistime the interval in which you change the gravity it's almost a guarantee you're taking a hit or two either by the cars or the weird duck things after about half a minute or so you'll arrive at a mini boss which is honestly just a pain to deal with so early you need to deal with changing gravity while aiming at a very specific point on the boss at all times and we aren't even halfway done yet the gravity gimmick makes the next section pretty stressful since you constantly need to pay attention to where all the star cans are going to be shooting at the final stretch combines the gravity with both precise platforming as well as conveyor belts which can be absolutely overwhelming and a complete mess to deal with and if you think it's over yet there's more mini bosses to deal with while on the conveyor belts there's these tuba guys that act as huge roadblocks for the platforming challenge and ended all you have another one of those huge wall mini bosses like in the first section if you think this level is difficult though it gets worse a lot worse number two rugged ridge i've really gotta say that both rugged ridge and number one on our list are levels like no other any game i've ever played they've got that stress inducing feeling that makes you feel relieved whenever you get past a section but makes it progressively worse when you realize it's not over yet and in fact far from over so rugged ridge puts you on your toes right away and keeps you on your toes for the whole level the first section really focuses on your ability to platform quickly while deciding to try to kill or just go past an enemy you're forced onto scale platforms that sync when you stand on them all the while these coyote-looking dudes chuck boomerang wrenches at you on paper doesn't sound all that out of the ordinary but it's incredibly tedious not to take a hit or two of chip damage next we have a section taken pretty much straight out of subspace emissary that focuses specifically on her ability to deal with a handful of enemies at the same time next is another enemy rush section which honestly i just consider your time to breathe a minute since it's not too hard or notable and the final section holy crap it's the definition of stress i know i've been saying stress a lot through this entire video but i think that's one of the biggest things in these levels that make them so difficult the whole section is based on very precise and swift platforming on tiny platforms while you're being chased by a humongous giant goblin dude you don't even get the benefit of the doubt of the section being short it goes on for so long and feels even longer since it's so stressful but once you see that red picket sign indicate the ending you can breathe the world's biggest sigh of relief number one perilous piers holy freaking mamma mia mugman god this level is hellish i mean it's fun to take a trip to bikini bottom and all but i wasn't expecting literally everything to be trying to murder me first things first you gotta deal with these uh honestly i have no idea what these guys are but they spray projectiles across the area with all their fishy friends and then you've got doodlebob squidward doing his angry little waddle across the landscape which may seem easy to dodge where you can easily get caught off guard next mr krabs comes along carrying platforms for you to use but don't be fooled because he will damage if you touch any part of his body now that the easy part is over let me introduce you to larry the lobster who interrupts you while you're on your merry way by swinging his claws and you've been summoning lightning to really screw you up then you arrive at the final section the only reason this level is number one on the list it may seem easy up to now but boy oh boy just wait till you see what's coming you're going to stay afloat on squidward while dodging a literal definition of bullet hell and constantly having to parry his little gem thing to destroy the huge boulders in front seriously kudos if you manage to clear this especially with as many lives as possible remaining if you agree with my rankings let me know why in the comments and if you disagree also let me know why in the comments i hope you joined this video and as always thanks for watching [Music]
