the world we know how the leaders of Cambodia who only cook my food so far in Cambodia I've tried a lot of unusual food but it would be nearly impossible for me to pin down the identity of Cambodian cuisine and there's a reason for that 319 35 to 39 okay that it's the Camaro pile the Cambodian people living in a very hard time and they don't care about what we eat the only clear how to survive so after the war finish they forget what food is gonna cook until now slowly coming back to cook all the metals and to show people in the world what its models how the users it should be certified to tour with anchor Street keys and my local guide Khan will hit tons of delicious foods with some adventure eating elements mixed in yeah the first place is called happy now there is a very small local restaurant in the middle of the village and very few concluding people that they know the place there is no tourists I stopped the case of across treaty [Music] okay so this one is corn is two different dumpling pork and one with Ag and this one is rice cake it's a fish gravy that is not something you hear together that often fish gravy what is it called don't kill Jesus rice cake with pork gravy made from fish I'm going to smell this first this one seems like the first kind of you know risky thing for me in a push it is nice oh yeah oh my god everything here is ridiculously good on the outside is right rice rice and bean and pork Amalia for the average person you know from the West I don't think they would say that this is even right and has like a very soft almost like rice pudding kind of texture but this I know this is just a few items but already is outstanding oh yeah I'm completely blown away when I was doing research about coming to Cambodia and finding food to eat and asking people for food recommendations so many foreigners who are completely clueless and a lot of people were kind of disparaging about Cambodian food saying you know that food is just like not developed it's not it's not good they don't have like a good food culture you know this is something that Cambodian they don't really writing mostly Cambodian is not good at writing okay that's I cannot introduce to people you know now the new generation they are starting okay starting to make and right do you feel like the food culture in Cambodia is really emerging right now yeah yeah now is it merging [Music] so how come some sugarcane juice is like more brown in some before what depend on a month some money really brought some money really yellow and then I noticed also you got me a gift on this place that you wrapped up with a leaf yeah good picked visit in iPod this is well I'm a fish okay oh I heard about that one of the biggest fish in Cambodia yeah it's like one of the most famous yeah what is it like what adobo is to the Philippines or far to Vietnam like you're gonna unwrap it now alright let's do it so they've seen the almost fish in the banana leaf how long do they steam take about one hour plus banana leaves are used for like a lot of different stuff yeah okay like what else like popcorn punch no okay please please okay he also will be do banana leaf what else is in here though it made from real fish and make it the curry ingredients yeah how's that oh cool that will build any pot ah yeah the think you eat all eat that too yeah okay you should a little bite I don't think I got any fish on that one that has a oh you do like a bite of the food and then abide by your rice okay it's not fishy at all but it has a nice flaky texture like it's been steamed perfectly yeah but I never had a reason I've never had a curry flavor with fish before but it just goes together amazingly well I feel actually like I'm getting a hungry rat every place because I'm getting like more and more excited so let's head to the next place [Music] and you find that I'm finding it difficult to breathe am i doing something wrong maybe you're walking too fast FIU you can so you can just bite that off and like and there's no big deal this whole tour today has shed a whole new light on Cambodia and the food here it's just so much that I didn't expect at all the food
