Atop a hill in France, we stumbled
upon an unusual house that looked like something out of a witch's storybook. Upon further investigation, we discovered
that this house once belonged to the Sers family from France. It was constructed in
the early 1900s by Mr. Sers as a residence for his wife and five children. After
his passing, his daughter Bernadette transformed it into her creative retreat
where she painted all of her masterpieces. A few times each year, Bernadette traveled
from Paris to this hidden house in the middle of nowhere to focus on her artistic pursuits.
As the years went by, she gained a reputation as a renowned artist, her paintings were
displayed in galleries all over France. The house is overflowing with the artworks she
created throughout her lifetime. Each room, each corner, holds a new chapter of her
life story, told through her creations. It's clear that she didn't come here alone; there
are remnants of her husband and children scattered about. The reason for their absence and refusal
to claim their belongings remains a mystery to us. Sadly, Bernadette left this
world at the young age of 71. Join us on this journey as we bid farewell to this
incredible woman and her enchanting witch house. - This is a transcription for
a youtube video, can you check the spelling and punctuation aswell as
correct the text where ever necessary. Welcome back, everybody, to the Bros
Of Decay. I am Lesley, and like usual, behind the camera, we have Mr. Danny.
Hello, hello, everyone. And yesterday, me and Danny found a rather odd-looking
abandoned house here in France. For me, it resembled sort of a witch house. You're going
to see it in a moment. I absolutely love it, but it also has a very intriguing story of the
SAR family. And this family had a daughter who was not famous, but yeah, like renowned, kind of
renowned painter, and she has all her paintings, not all of them, still inside of
that place. Let me show you around. This over here used to be, I think we have
discussed this already, but we think it was their second property, not their main house,
maybe their vacation house, a place where they came in the summer because this family used to
live in Paris. Just look at the shape of this house. I absolutely adore it. It's very peculiar.
Yeah, it's so strange. It's fairy tale-like. It's really cool. And it's actually also a fairly big
property. And we are a bit clueless why it is abandoned because there are some really expensive
houses around here, and this one is just falling into disrepair. And it's also in a high point of
view because from those rooms up there, you can literally see the whole city. Yeah, it's amazing.
It's quite incredible. I also love the barn that they have over there. It's unfortunately empty,
but it matches the house, matches the style, matches everything, so it's really cool. Let's,
uh, let's show the people around. Let's see it. Let's see this place. Oh, it's a really nice and
hot day today in France. Yeah, finally. We have been filming a lot in cold weather, and now it's
getting hot again and nice again to film. Wow, it's actually also quite a tall house. The first
time we saw it, we were like, "This is going to be a fairly small place," but it actually has three
levels and four even, but the fourth one is like, "Yeah, this is crazy." That's been abandoned now
for a bit over a decade. It still looks quite good from the outside, I must say, and I think it's
definitely restorable. Oh, yeah, definitely. Okay, the window here on the side of the place is
open. I think that used to be the front door. This used to be the side door of the place.
They used to hang clothes here. Yeah, there's a couple of washing pins still
left behind. How do you call those? Uh, I don't know. Washing clips? This is the, I
think it's called the drying line or yeah, something. Even the flowers around the garden
here are still here. Yeah, it's quite special to see. Wow, this is going to be our end into
the place. I shall go in front of you, Danny. Yeah, okay, y-you okay? Yeah, I'm fine. It's
immediately a lot cooler here, right? Yeah, outside it's sort of burning, but here it’s cooler
because the house is made of stone and this lower level is closed off, so it keeps the heat away.
See, we came into the dining space of the house, and it looks like everything from these people
is just left behind on the table here. I think it also used to be a fairly big family that came
here. The owner of this place was the father of the S family, but he also had a daughter,
Bernadette, if I’m not mistaken. I have no idea. I will show you later, but she was the painter,
and we will show you her work during this video. As you can see, the plates are still on
the table, but what I find very interesting are these drawings from the children lying on
the table, and even their pencils and everything are still left here. They were probably
coloring for one last time here. This is like a little note where they wrote some things
they needed from the store, like oil and stuff. I love the fireplace as well that we have here
in the corner of the room. Wow, it looks like it belongs to the house, like it's in the same
style as the house. Yeah, kind of. As you can see here to the side of it, the spiders have already
started to take over this place. You also have to watch out because the floor is caving in over
there; it looks really bad. There’s a basement underneath, so you definitely don’t want to fall
into that. No, so please don't go to that side. I'm just going to show the things here on top of
the fireplace. This is like some sort of metal made out of somebody’s head in plaster. And these
flowers, you see a lot in abandoned places. People in the comment section have already pointed them
out multiple times, but I forget their name every single time. They last forever; you see them in
30-40 year abandoned places still in good shape, dried up of course, and a couple of
other things on top of the fireplace. We also have this bench here in front of the
window, which is rather cool. It has two seats and then sort of a compartment here in the middle
of it. Yeah, and also this one. Oh, that one opens up? Oh, they store some blankets in there. This
is kind of like one of those Portuguese benches that you put in the hallway, right? Yeah,
but here it's standing in the dining space. Also, there's a television over here in the room
to watch TV with everybody at the table. See, there’s not much in there, and a little art piece
on the wall. This family was very artsy; they had art all throughout their house, and we're going to
see more and more as we go further into the rooms. This looks like a doorway to another room, but
it’s actually just a storage cabinet behind it. You can see the shelves still filled with
all the cups and plates. Wow. Okay, watch out. The dining table is still made.
Wow, have you seen this one? Yeah, that’s really cool. They made an old lamp into
like a sort of lantern. It looks like you could go on a pilgrimage or something with that.
Everything is still on top of here. The record player—is this a record player? No, this
is a cassette player, a tape player. Yeah, even a bottle of liquor they made
into a lamp. How? I don’t know. Oh, I wanted to see what's inside this
box. See, even more artworks and drawings, but these definitely look like they’re
from the grandchildren of the place and not from Bernadette. And then, on top of
the wall here, we also have an antler. Being in this region of France, it’s very
common for people to go hunting, so this is probably self-shot. There’s a pass-through
window from the kitchen to here, and a couple of things are still left over, sort of sifting
through. Wow, I love this table. Oh, look at that, look at the carvings—an angel. Oh, these little
details along the drawer, I love this one. Yeah, the man, wow. It's again the same French man that
comes up. You see it so many times in France. Oh, I forgot to show one thing here on
the wall before we go further. Look at this enormous shell that we have hanging on
the wall. I think it's some sort of oyster or definitely a sea creature. Wow. Good. I want to
take you into that room over there because it's quite a special room inside the house. It's
completely filled with everything arty from these people. I will let you go inside. This over
here is by far my favorite room inside the house, with everything of these people and their
lives still inside. I absolutely adore it. Yeah, it feels like it stopped in time. Exactly, that's the word. Look over here, they
have a piano. You call this a grand piano standing in the corner of the room, and somebody must have
played it here. What does it say over there? Oh, Alexandre, made in Paris. I love
the... how do you call those? I'm not 100% sure, I have no
idea. Let’s see if it still plays. It's standing actually quite nice. Wow, I'm quite
impressed by the tune of it. It’s very untuned. Very untuned? Oh, I thought it was tuned. No, even the music notes and
everything are still standing here. And then in the corner here, we also have
this stand. Is this meant to be like this? Yes, okay, this is like a stand
for someone that is, for example, people that have instruments that they are
standing up playing, like a flute for example. A flute, yeah. Wow, have you seen this over
here to the side? This handle of the piano, wow, that's absolutely amazing. Oh my, there's even a
photo of the house left up here in its heyday. It doesn’t look much different from right now.
No, this looks very fairly recent. Wow, that’s actually pretty cool. I
think it's not made not that long ago. No, definitely 2000s. Yeah, more music notes
lying on top of here. See inside of them. Oh, wow, that's amazing. More plants
from the garden left over here. I really love the cover of this book. That's so special. It looks like a
very authentic book to me. Yeah, I love it. Oh my God,
the gold and the flowers, wow. And this is another instrument, right? Yeah, I don't know the name of it. A tambourine or something like that? Yeah, maybe. Yeah, that’s true. Also, more—what
are those? Music notes, like a lot of music notes here everywhere. Look at this ball street chair
that's standing here in front of the piano. That's quite special. I love the woodwork on this one.
Wow. And then I sort of had a relaxing part in
this house with a couple of couches left behind. They could sit, read, play music. As you
can see, there's still a guitar left here. It's an acoustic guitar, right? No, it's not even a
guitar. Oh, it's not a guitar? I’m not sure, it's not an acoustic guitar. Acoustic guitars are way
bigger. Oh yeah, it's kind of a mix. To be honest, I don't know the name in English of
this. Me neither, quite interesting. And a music stand is also still lying there.
The sofa itself is not super interesting, but yeah, this was also their second house,
so most likely in their main house they had more extravagant furniture. A couple
of books left over here on the shelf. And right above it, I think, Danny,
this is a depiction of an old French town or an old French city. It might
resemble Paris or something. Look at the people moving around with horse
carriages, that's so special. Wow. I love this pouf. Oh wow, it even has depictions
on it, that's why I love it. It has a Viking ship, a musk, everything is so well detailed on it.
It's unfortunately falling apart a little bit. And you also have to watch over there because
there's a hole that leads to the basement, I think. Yeah, and I think there's a black
mold here. It has only been such a short time, but this house is falling apart in a lot of
areas. A side table here with the plants and the telephone still standing there. I love
that telephone. Do you know how to operate one of those? Of course, we're the same age. I
think we used them. Yeah, I used them as well. I think my mother had one when I was very
young, and then she replaced it with a more modern version after a couple of years. I had
one that made a lot of noise when you turned it. And then here, the bench, which is out of shape
in this room. I still love it. This is actually quite beautiful, this bench, this sofa. Wow. And
right above it, we have another artwork, and this is actually a very special one because it was made
by the daughter herself. You can see the signature over here in the corner which says "B. de S.," and
that means Bernadette S. As you can see, it looks like people working in a field. Wow, it feels more
like a painting that she did when she was young, like a child. Yeah, maybe she did it when she
was still young because her later paintings are a bit more detailed. This feels more like
an experiment, you know, something that she would give to her parents. You can see also here
in the corners, it's not completely finished in some places. But still, this might be one of her
earliest paintings, and it's a rare piece then, right? Yeah, it's original, that's for sure. It's
so sad that it's here and it's going to be lost. More of those plants lying there in the corner.
What kind of music... Oh, this is a record player, Danny, did you see that? Yeah, oh wow, there's a
record player underneath here. They enjoyed art and music in very different ways here, a lot of
different styles. Look at this one. Is this also from her? Doubt it. Yeah, it doesn't look like
her style. No. I also love that there's just a head hanging casually on top of there. Wow.
The bookshelf is still completely filled with books. There are some fairly old ones in between
there. Oh, this one looks like it's from 1875, "Le Guide du Monde" or something
like that. Oh wow, that's amazing. You find some really incredible books
while exploring these abandoned places. Look at this one, Danny. It even has gold plating on the side. That's mostly because
these are religious books, right? No, no, wow. Yeah, but a lot of books are just
about the history of France. And some magazines here and there, but really old books. This also
catches my attention. There's like a sort of crown made out of feathers from animals, from birds,
hanging casually on the chair. Again, the same upholstery chair we have over here. Oh, yeah, wow,
look at that. That's a wedding picture. I don't know who these people are, but they most likely
are part of the family. Yeah, that's amazing. Africa—it's an illustration book, you see.
Oh, yeah, about African illustrations? No, no, France and Africa, I mean. Right, it's just a
book of illustrations. The main cover is that. Oh, yeah, see. Yeah, it's actually no illustr—
I mean, kind of, it's more of a magazine, I think. Yeah, definitely. This is really
renowned. I think she has illustra— yeah, I've seen this a lot throughout France.
Yeah, I thought you knew. Yeah, there's a little pouf in front of you as well. This
one is not as extravagant as the other one. And then over here we actually have a complete
desk where they used to do their work. The telephone is left behind over here in the
corner. Some cool artifacts over here as well, for example, this thermometer. And then
we also have some castanets over here, the French musical castanets. That's how
you say it? I don't know. You can speak Spanish? Castanets, castanets. Okay, I think
that's how the Spanish word is pronounced. The glasses left behind here—wow, some really
cool things left on this desk. Even drawings of her—beautiful drawings, sketches. This looks like
a small sketchbook underneath here. Oh my God, look at that, Danny. Still a lot of sketches
of her left in here. Oh my God, yeah, we're definitely dealing with the house of an
artist over here. More stuff over there, a pen and everything. This is to press stamps, right?
Or press letters if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, and even her color palette here. When she was
painting, she had this with her. Incredible. Oh my, this is her book actually. It
says over here, "Bers B." And these are actually paintings that she made, as
you can see. This is the New York Pearl of the New Pearl. Looks like the New York
skyline. Yeah, this is also New York. Yeah, this at the back here was the woman that used
to come here. That was the daughter of Sha, the father of the family. B, that’s—wow,
you see that properly on camera? It's like, it's plastic, so it's reflecting a bit.
Really cool. Oh, that doesn’t close. Wow. And then here in the corner of the room, we also
have a fireplace with a big sculpture above it. Let me see the sculpture a little bit more in
detail. I'm not sure if she made this one herself, but it looks like something completely handmade.
Really cool. You have on the wall here a small photograph or small illustration and then a pretty
broken Jesus Christ over here to the right side. The fireplace still has a
little bit of wood inside it, but not much. I don't think they used this fairly
often. Doesn't look like it. What's that, Danny? An old tripod? Is this a tripod? Yeah, you're
joking with me. No, oh yeah, it even has pins at the bottom to push it into the ground. Would
there be like a camera on top of here then? A camera, a canvas, a flash, an umbrella—that's just
a tripod for multiple things. It's adjustable, but this is from the old days. It is adjustable?
Oh yeah, if you spread the legs far enough, you can lower it. Yeah, but not like the tripods
we have nowadays. That's really cool to see. And then over here we have another small library
with some more books and magazines and stuff like that. Really cool. A mirror above there. And then
we can go through the hall of the place. What I find peculiar here is that there are so many coat
hooks left over here, and that suggests that a lot of people used to visit this place. I think she
had a lot of children. Didn't we see that they had like five children, Danny? Or am I wrong about
that? I don't know. I think you read something like that. Oh yeah, she's a daughter of a lot
of kids. Yeah, so a lot of people used to come here. Also, a lot of grandchildren used to come
here. It was a fairly big place for all of them. And over here we can enter into the kitchen. I
cannot—no, no, there's something behind it. Yeah, be a bit careful with the doorway. It's
stuck. Very small kitchen, I would say, though a lot of stuff has been crammed inside
of here. Oh my God. But what's super interesting about this kitchen is that there had to be notes
everywhere for somebody who used to come here a lot or who lived here to guide them throughout
the kitchen. So it looks like this person had dementia or something. Even on the microwave
and on the washing machine underneath it, they have faded now, but oh, this one has
something. Yeah, it says "Do not use." So this one definitely has instructions on it. Yeah, but they
look like something for grocery shopping. Yeah, I don't know. I've seen this before
in a Belgian house where they had instructions everywhere. Let's see if we
see more during the tour of the house. Here you can see the shelves still filled
with pots and pans on top of them. Wow, there's also a pass-through over here. Have you
seen that? You can show it on the other side. Yeah, you can see the kitchen and the dining space
and then pass the food through to the other side. Wow. Sink over here still has a couple of
things left in it. And then if I'm not mistaken, these are the baskets to put the eggs
inside of? Eggs? Yeah, eggs. Yeah, I thought it was fruit. Maybe fruit as well.
The paint is chipping off everywhere. The whole ceiling is chipping. And then in the middle
here we have the dining table with a couple of chairs still standing around it. A bowl of
cereal. Wow. I love this fireplace over here, or this cooking area, completely crammed
with all the pots and pans still standing on top of it. The unwashed dishes still
lying here. There was a lot of life in this place back in the day. Have you seen
the tile work, Danny? Yeah, it's beautiful. Wow. And I love the built-in cabinet
as well here to the side. Very French. A corner cabinet with all the spices
and everything in there. That's rough. This over here used to be the front door of
the place. It hasn't been opened in ages; spider webs are growing over there on the bottom.
If I'm not mistaken, here used to be the toilet of the place—a very typical French toilet.
You can see it from the flushing mechanism they had over there, and the people also had a
lot of magazines and books here in the toilet to read when they were doing their
business. This is a very small room, Danny. I think we would have our feet against the
door when it's closed. Wow. And this over here used to be the bathroom of the place. There's only
one bathroom in this entire building. Everything is a bit messy over here. Yeah, it looks like
everything is falling apart. Very sad. Let's see. There's another note down there, Danny. It says
"Shon" over here, and there's also another note, but that doesn't—it just says what's inside. Yeah,
it just says what's inside. It's very strange. I've never seen them before.
And all the clothes for... um, I'm not sure what it means. Are these
men's or women's clothes? This looks like both, I think. Yeah, both. It's a combination.
And that's definitely a woman's dress. Yeah, interesting. And over there in
the corner, maybe you can show it, we have the basement, but it's inaccessible. Yeah,
be very careful. Yeah, we have to be very careful, but just to show that the stairs are gone.
Everything is falling apart. It's crazy. And that leads us now to the upstairs of the place,
and we're going to see the bedrooms, which are really special. We have to be very careful on the
staircase. The house is literally falling apart, and the staircase is ripping off the wall. Only
a decade of abandonment—no, a bit more than that, like 15 years—and this place already looks
like this. Have you seen the black mold, Danny? It's insane. Normally, you only see this
in buildings that have been abandoned for much longer. I want to do that one first because that
looks like a super interesting bedroom to me. Wow, look at how cute this one is.
Looks like a girl's bedroom. Yeah, like a little princess. Maybe it was
Bernadette's when she was younger. Yeah, probably. It's a beautiful bedroom.
Look at this, a very small vanity, a very cute vanity with everything still on top of
it. I think it was definitely Bernadette's bedroom because she has a painting stand. Is that how you
call it? It has a specific name. I don't know in English. In Portuguese, it's "cavalete." I don't
know in English. Don't we call it an easel? Yeah, okay. It doesn't really matter, but you can
see over here, even the soaps and everything, the products are left here, her little makeups
and everything. What's this inside of here? Uh, I don't know. Looks like something from
the garden. Yeah, flowers and a marble top. Very cute vanity, everybody. Have you
also seen the shoes standing in front of it? Boots, a small towel—like you just
said, Danny—definitely a girl's bedroom. Yeah, there's a doorway somewhere.
Oh no, wow, look at that, sort of a built-in cabinet. I love these. I wish we still made coat
hangers like that. We still make them. Yeah, but most people don't use coat hangers like this
anymore. I use them. I threw all my mother's away and bought wooden ones. Yeah, but it's
actually great for the environment, and this also has a beam at the bottom that keeps the clothes
straight. These literally last a lifetime. And then look at the bed in B that we have over
here. The bed itself is very simple, but I really love the style of this entire thing. The bed, the
flowers, everything—very beautiful. Those curtains hanging here to the side of it, wow. Have you seen
this style of bedroom before while exploring with our friends, right? We've seen multiple houses,
for example, in the chateau. We'll link it up here if you haven't seen that video. It's definitely
one of the best ones that Dy and I ever made. It's the best castle ever. I almost cried there.
Definitely have a look. Did you see that there's also a hidden doorway over there in the corner,
Danny? Yeah, I just want to see real quick. It leads to the other rooms. Oh, this is so
typical of French houses; every single room is connected with each other. Yeah, it's like the
house is a labyrinth. Okay, just close that up. I also haven't pointed out those flowers there in
the corner, and those are real, everybody. They have been standing there for the last 14 years.
Wow, I would love to have this as my bedroom. Small little drawer looks like it's hand-painted.
Hand-painted, yeah. Every clue in this house indicates that these people were artists.
There's a telephone on top of here. I think it's the same as the other one downstairs. I am
very interested in it. It says "Police" over here, so if you do it like that, would it phone the
police downstairs? No, I think for the police, it's 17. So you'd first have to dial a one
and then a seven like that, right? Yeah, okay, and then you could phone the police.
I think it's that. Looks like it. See, this phone even has a third horn. Did the one
that you have at home also have a third horn? I don't remember. I don't remember. Do you
know what it's used for? To listen? Yeah, exactly, just to listen. So if there's an extra
person, somebody's calling, and somebody's listening at the same time, they can have a
conversation with three people at the same time. A very beautiful wafer fan over there, and then
we have a dividing screen or a privacy screen over here in the corner. Also a very small one, so it's
most likely for a child to dress behind. Yeah, this looks like a painting that Bernadette
made when she was young. Yeah, it even has her signature, "B. Sex." Wow, you see what's on
there? Kind of a forest, a castle, something. Wow, this looks so beautiful. This maybe is a clue
that this bedroom might have been hers. It might have been when she was still young because
this is... yeah, she probably made this when she was young and it just stayed around here. Yeah,
because, again, it looks like more of a child's style. Exactly, really cool though. I really love
it. You can see her development over the years. A lot of flowers are still standing there, and then
a mobile fireplace in the middle. I really love that one. And you can see there's also a fireplace
there, but I am going to show a drone shot now of the roof of the place. It has four protruding
chimneys, and in every single corner of the house, there's a chimney. I think it looks magnificent
from the top. Yeah, it's very different. Yeah, and I love it. It makes this house different. Love
the style of this house, it's so cool. There's even a couple of very small pieces of clothing
left here, and that's definitely for dolls. [Music] Over here we have another bedroom, and you can
definitely see that a lot of people used to sleep in here. It has three beds standing right next to
each other, and maybe that was from the time when all the grandchildren came to this place, and it
was super lively. Do you think this was for the grandchildren or for all the kids, for the sons
of Sean? Yeah, maybe, because they were five, right? So I don't know if it was five; we have
to research that again to make sure we know. But I don't remember. But he had a lot of kids.
Yes, exactly. Look how overthrown these beds are, Danny. Yeah, something must have happened
afterward. Wow, there's even a small chalkboard over there on the wall and another painting
as well. This one doesn't have a signature. I'm looking from a distance; I don't want to
go over the bed, but I don't think it is. No, I don't see anything. It has a lovely palm
tree. Yeah, not much on this side. Just show it, and then we come over here to a sort of sitting
area, a little table with two picnic chairs next to it—chairs that should actually be outside of
the house, I think. But look at this map that's lying here on the table. I really, really
love it. You know why it's so special? Yeah, this map is very, very old. I wish I could know
the date, and if you guys know it, please comment, because Russia is still intact. There's no
Ukraine, there's Kiev. Like, Germany is also still intact. Wait, yeah, Germany has half of Poland.
Yeah, exactly. Austria and Hungary are together; there's no Slovakia, no Czechia. There are no
Balkan countries. There's no Croatia even. No, all are gone. And Great Britain and Ireland are
together here. It's crazy. There's no Finland. This map is extremely old. I don't know the age,
but I would really love for one of you to let us know down there because we are super interested
right now. I think my guess is mid-1800s, like 1850-something. When was Finland
created? I don't know. I have no clue. A fireplace in the corner again. Just like I told
you, every single corner has those fireplaces. I love the books lying on top of here, though.
Wow, French academic magazine on education, and this one is also gold-plated, if I'm not
mistaken. No, no, no, it's not. Looks really cool. A special lantern, special lamp. It
has all the children's toys and everything, as you can see, lying over here. Not much. Yeah,
you can also see that room if you want to. Yeah, there's a door here. Yeah, this is completely
overgrown and very, very rough. Maybe we can show it from the other side because this
looks a bit rough to go through. Okay, yeah, let's look at it from this side. But
this is again two big beds over here. Yeah, but this looks more like a room for the
parents, I think. Yeah, not completely sure. Oh, that's a nice one. May 1968, a chalet on the
boat. It's from a chat somewhere. Also an art piece on top of there, looks like a peacock.
Yeah, wow, so much overgrown in this room. Okay, you have one more over here. Oh, this is the
doorway, Danny. You closed it from the other side. I wanted to show it, but I closed it. But the
doorway is there. This looks like a baby bedroom or something. Yeah, it has a child's crib over
here in the corner. Beautiful wooden child's crib, though. Wow, it's incredible. Over there at
the door, we have sort of a jacket hanging with even pants and everything in it.
Oh, look at that; their surname is on it. Wow, let's check the cats. Some sort of bar
or something was happening. Is this like a shower curtain that's going around here?
Not a shower curtain, but like privacy, because there's a sink here. Sink in
the corner, everything is still here. Oh, have you seen this box? It's full of miniature kitchen appliances and
things for the children to play with. Interesting. These doors all look like doorways leading
somewhere, but they hide small spaces in the house. Yeah, lovely. Here we have more of her
work, and this looks more like her matured work, as you can see. Yeah, and these are definitely
not real; those are just prints of the real ones. But yeah, definitely more of the new work.
Wow. So maybe her new work was more valuable, and she couldn't have it in her house. She sold
it, and that's why they have these prints over here. It's in a museum. So yeah, and I see
that she works with sponges. It's beautiful, different. Oh, oh, watch out, nearly dripping.
Yep, you can see this small chair standing here in the corner. This is actually for a child,
a play chair and a little table. Cute. Yeah, more storage. Wow. To show you one more level,
and that's the attic. Let's go over there. Immediately the freshness goes
away, and the heat is here. Yeah, I think these are all like—no, it's because of
the ceiling. It creates this kind of greenhouse feeling. It's very hot in here already; it
hits you. I don't know what these rooms are, but they seem like bedrooms as well.
Huh, looks like they were doing some kind of restoration. Yeah, there’s a lot of
stuff up here. Love this upholstered chest, though. Look at that. There’s not much in there,
but a lovely upholstered chest, as you can see. Okay, you can see—what’s that? I was
just showing there is nothing up here, not much, a couple of bedrooms, maybe for the
guests. They put them up here in the attic, like, "Go sleep up there." Oh, Danny, there's
a balcony out here. Sorry, I skipped something, but yeah, no worries. Yeah, that's the balcony I
was saying that has the view of the city. Oh wow, I haven't turned off the light because it's too
bright. Can you see out of this window? Otherwise, I'm going to open the door. I think
you can see out of this window. Wow, yeah. That’s not the balcony. It seems very rough,
but yeah, you can see the view. Incredible. Yeah, you were right, you can see the whole city.
And there's sort of a twin bed over here in this room. Twin bed, yeah. A very rough bed,
though. Yeah, all this upstairs is rough. Okay, we haven't seen this room over here.
Oh yeah, it's a lot of old stuff. Oh, here you can see the crown of the house. Yeah,
the whole ceiling. Ceiling roof, that's what I was going to say. There are a lot of old things left
in here. See some dividing screens, some privacy screens here, some old newspapers. I'm just very
curious right now. 1947, Danny, this is from the war. Oh my, 1948, that's incredible. And what's
that? This? No, it's empty. Oh wow, show the front. There's a small illustration here, as you
can see. Love the frame, though. Yeah, different. Okay, this stairway. Yeah, want me to
go show? Yeah, let me just disconnect myself from the camera. Yeah, okay. So this
is the sort of fourth level of the house. Wow, not much to see, just the beams of the house
themselves. You seeing anything down there, Danny? Just another thing with colors. Oh, can
you show that? Yeah, I can show that. Yeah, it's very difficult to get down the staircase.
Oh, is that another color palette? Yeah, see, she did it on glass. She was painting on
glass. Yeah, my god. Oh, always super interesting things to find in the attics of these places
because these are very old things that they found. I really enjoyed exploring this place. We
found the family house of the Sex family, and they had a famous painter in their family,
Bernardette. They actually have two paintings of her still left in this place. That's absolutely
mind-blowing, and when we first discovered that, we were both like, "That's unbelievable." It
was so unbelievable to even realize that this was the house of a famous painter. With that all
said, I want to thank the man behind the camera, Mr. Danny, for filming this place with me. You're
welcome. The link is in the description of his channel. Thank you so much. Also, if you like the
video, like the video, subscribe to the channel, and write a nice comment. With that
all said, I want to thank you so, so much, and I will see you next week
in another epic exploration. Bye-bye. [Music]
