ENCHANTED ENGLISH GARDEN & A COTTAGE TOUR IN DORSET

[Music] and as you can see we have glorious sunshine which feels so nice because we've had rain all week so this feels like a bit of a reward and now we want to explore the garden some more fly the drone and just share this amazing stage with you [Music] [Music] the topiary egg isn't there so special he's troy house's garden of the year award 2020 and we can see now why [Music] so [Music] do [Music] [Music] for us this is basically the epitome of a romantic english country garden with all the beautiful topiary the whole layout so special thank you so much julian luke for giving us the opportunity to experience something like this we are we we don't have words honestly [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] this day is so special for us isn't it yeah it is it's wonderful we are beyond grateful we have no words we've got an amazing tour of the house mapleton house and we just had lunch with julie and luke montague and then so they are really an amazing couple yeah they are lovely and we had a wonderful exchange of ideas yes and we filmed the house for you where we had lunch and luke said we have to come down here to beach this is part of the jurassic coastline and it's absolutely stunning yeah we have sunshine now and you know what this is like we we think this is the dream for people who love the coast fill up the english countryside yes yes yeah you have everything you want everything you could wish it's just amazing we are really happy and this is the boarding house where we have lunch and as always we will link it for you down below in the info box been to dorset it's like twice yes and we haven't really explored this county and it's it's beyond beautiful you know i feel the air now it's like it's so fresh and i can't see it's amazing now just relaxed and happy what a coastline it's yeah so that's where we had lunch yeah it's oh it's lovely it's cold the boarding house i think yeah and it is a wonderful restaurant yeah the lunch was really good yeah and you know what you can also i think you can stay there overnight and look at the view my goodness that's just an amazing and stunning view i love it did you see the boat yeah yeah i could stay here forever oh me too you know what yeah we're staying at the garden cottage that you can rent via airbnb we will link that for you down below in the infobox and we thought we will give you a little tour yeah it's beautiful and the garden is it's wonderful yes i think you will love it yeah and it's really really quiet yeah so if you need some peace and rest i think this is an ideal place for you oh yeah and you know what i think you can get a glimpse of the garden down there of the mappington garden and the countryside is beautiful yeah isn't it it's quiet you can't hear anything a car no nothing just animals yes which is lovely yeah this is the cottage well it's actually it is quite big to be honest and we should give you a little tour let's step inside now this is a lounge a dining area with a huge fireplace i love this all beams really nice this is the living room what a great size isn't it there you couldn't be more perfect we've got the dorset rolling hills this is where thomas hardy was from so here is a toilet and then here is the kitchen great size as well really great i think this is probably i'm not sure probably yeah see this is a utility room perfect and there's another little dining area through here which is really great as well i love this yeah did you swap the staffordshire dogs yes i did see they're really nice they are and they're a much better conditioner than ones we have yeah they are in a really good condition i love them i love the shelf as well or built-in cupboard that's beautiful and the bedrooms are upstairs let's start this is a single bedroom which is lovely this is the single bedroom shelves this is a twin wonderful the bedrooms have such a great size and another perfect view wouldn't mind waking up to this view every morning the next bedroom is the one we chose for us that's big as well now this is not the typical small cottage the rooms are really really nice wonderful and here you get a glimpse of the mapping garden so here is a bathroom and here is another bathroom [Music] so [Music] foreign [Music] good morning good morning so it's sunday morning and unfortunately the weather forecast says heavy rain later yeah but it's still dry yeah luckily it's still dry and we thought we would just come back and film this glorious garden yes yeah even in the morning it's wonderful it's just it's so romantic if you get the chance visit this place you will fall in love we promise you that yes okay well i'm i'm about to say goodbye everybody um but i wanted to give you sort of a one more tour of this space here so any questions you have yeah ask away so this is your cafe yeah so this is our multi-purpose building it's our cafe you can see all the tables so we're finally open to the public so we've set up all the tables but you can see the original stone wall and you can see the beams above and this is our 18th century um uh i actually do think it's yeah 18th century 1700s coach house so this is where the coaches used to be stored and then the block next door with the wisteria the lovely wisteria that is where the horses would be kept and you can see the horse mount the mounting there so when we could we converted this uh right before the pandemic we were like yay we converted it and we've made it into this event space and beautiful cafe and weddings are here and then the pandemic hit like we weren't even open for a whole season and the pandemic hit and so we were like what are we gonna do with this space so i'm gonna show you what we did during the pandemic so you probably know that i like yoga yoga is my everything guys this woman is amazing check her out she's amazing well you're very kind no my practice is crazy but i teach to all levels do you mean so like so during the pandemic when this was closed down and we were here you can see i have to i have to store i have to put these back in the house but here's a yoga mat so i was teaching live streaming yoga sometimes against this wall and what's interesting about this wall here i'm going to show you here is when we stripped back when we were converting this into this event space we strip back to the original walls you can see the date somebody put their initials tk 1798. so when they were constructing this he obviously carved in his initials tk 1798. yeah pretty incredible so again we tried to keep the beams the same uh most of them are original beings but yeah that's where i would do yoga there's my blacks over there and then sometimes i would do yoga here because if these are from an indian wedding they were made for us but that's shamianos are like hung at indian weddings and we have a friend from india and she made these for us and so we have hung them all around because weddings have well weddings used to happen here pretty pandemic but now they're coming back so weddings are just coming back but we're only uh six days in to opening up the cafe indoors and thank goodness because the weather yeah is terrible yeah it's terrible it's really british at the minute it's very very british but yeah it's um so yeah so it's just a beautiful space now and also i hold yoga retreats here yes so during when this is closed for the public um which are the months november december january and february then that's when i hold yoga retreats and i promise you it's super warm because of our biomass boiler so i hold yoga retreats and people stay in the house and then they stay in the garden cottage where you're at and then we have we meet here for yoga retreats and i'm having one luckily this year last year i had to cancel them and this year i have one booked so which is great it's really great and your channels you have two youtube channels so mapleton live which is it's amazing it's a wonderful channel can you yeah so mapperton live is the mapperton channel and we call it backstage at britain's finest manor house because in 2006 we won the award of being awarded britain's finest manor house and so it's really the behind the scenes of the leaks of the draining of the pool of repairs of the tapestries but also our rewilding projects um so we're rewilding part of the estate and then of course history of the house and history of the sandwich family and those historical sort of tours are done and done by my in-laws the url encounters a sandwich and then we have italian at gardens they're formal gardens and so lots of garden tours throughout the year as well and then my channel is my channel is has a little bit of yoga on there for all levels so anybody can do that but um and it has other things like travels like when i've gone to italy even during the pandemic but when we were allowed um and i traveled to scotland and i've traveled to around this area and just yeah and then hopefully in future we'll be doing on my channel all about other country estates so that's our big thing other country estates that that because i'll know the owners and they'll hopefully let me in [Laughter] yes so yeah thank you so much no thank you all so much we have honestly we've had such a great time having kirsten and york come and stay with us and it's just been incredible and we had that lovely lunch yesterday it was and it was just brilliant so it was a real honor for us to have you come here we're so pleased and honored and we're lifelong friends we're now and yeah this is someone baked this this morning going back to cheshire now yeah yeah yeah unfortunately yeah i would like to stay and you know this morning no not this morning for the afternoon we actually had a time slot for monty cute house the reason we wanted to go there is they filmed some scenes for sense and sensibility there with emma thompson and kate winslet it is one of my favorite films and we have you can probably see it gusty winds and there will be heavy rain yeah and to be honest we love my method and so much that we just forgot the time yeah yeah we could film the garden all day long hours and hours yeah and take photos and we just we enjoyed it so much and yeah we hope you like the videos and come come visit this place because it's wonderful for us this is england yes and to be honest it
