Hello friends and welcome back to more of The Last of Us ah Mackenzie is so excited he's making biscuits over there I'm so excited oh is this Ashley Johnson's Cameo yes I knew she was gonna be playing Ellie's mom is she pregnant with Ellie right now oh I'm full on labor right now oh [ __ ] I can't imagine being pregnant in the Apocalypse suck come on you can do I'm doomed because I know you're not around in the future but me and Mackenzie are rooting for you hi I'm the problem it's me anyone oh my God I can hear Ellie's voice in her oh my God this is insane oh her water broke her water broke oh already sobbing oh my freaking God wow what an opening it's so crazy hearing Ashley Johnson in this television show like literally from a minute she opened her mouth and started talking like literally I can hear her in every every sound she makes I mean she is at least voice actor from the game but also just like it's amazing how iconic her voice is as much as I've Loved Bella Ramsay's interpretation of this character it almost broke my heart because I'm like oh my God it's Ellie oh my gosh I love seeing Ashley Johnson and wow what an impactful scene that was I'm gonna have to hold on to my cats this this episode aren't I oh no no look for the light eh is this the same Farmhouse I wonder sure looks like it oh is this like right after yeah Marlene looks young they're not gonna like what they find though oh did she run off zombie zombie mom Anna oh what a Duo they would have been Anna and Ellie oh is she still okay oh no she was ready I cut it before I was bit and I want you to give her this her name is Ellie how long have we known each other her whole lives so you've been correct right now and then you kill me I can't handle it it's so hard to watch oh my God no please mess like I just want to hold Ellie and be like you were loved you were loved oh my God I've had a hard time right now guys hear me well all right she's still struggling throughout the whole situation with David hospital that way maybe the one we're looking for got it oh or she kind of just not looking forward to this being over worried that Joel's gonna leave her after this trying to like let it could have said something different if she'd known all the information it's hard to wonder what if huh I don't know it looked like something I would have to drag around in the game this is no army they put these places up all around like early the first few days after the outbreak emergency medical camps obviously didn't last they had made one just like this with Sarah no she was gone already that's it oh my God that didn't work out me too I'm glad that didn't work out we should probably get going yeah because originally I wondered if the gunshot wound was from the soldier who shot at him and Sarah what shitty puns an apocalypse looks like there's no too soon no it's topical oh topical tastes better than Earth rot why are meteor that's terrible that was actually good all right what did the green grape say to the purple grape review idiot those are three out of ten seven no no [ __ ] live out of 10. but every time I start to relax to quote the Magic School Bus oh bad oh bad bad oh bad bad bad fireflies I should have known it just startled okay you got hit pretty hard Marlene didn't know who you were Zoe she wasn't her not even a scratch just mostly worried about you just take me to her I can't she's being prepped for surgery what surgery our doctor he thinks that the cordyceps and Ellie has grown with her since birth why is she in surgery it produces a kind of chemical messenger it makes normal cordyceps think that she's cordyceps it's why she's immune he's going to remove it from her multiply the cells in a lab produce those chemical Messengers and then we can give it to everyone he thinks it could be a cure Joel cure but cordyceps grows inside the brain find someone else there is no one else we didn't tell her we didn't cause her any fear there won't be any pain no you take me to her you take me to her right now please you don't understand I do I was there when she was born I promised her mother that I would save her child I promised so I do understand no I'm the only one who understands sorry I have no other choice I do but the thing is she didn't she doesn't know Ellie as a person at least in my mind from what I've seen of their relationship Marlene knows if Ellie has a concept whereas Joel knows her as a person and I believe informed consent is imperative they should have woken her up and asked you wake her up and you ask her for permission you can't force someone to donate an organ even if it's to save another person's life [ __ ] are you doing keep walking [ __ ] keep walking oh here we go here we go oh my God I know it's to save the world but oh wow can you just give this show all the Emmys just all of them like Merry Christmas here's every Emmy the way they're muting it oh he's gonna kill him anyway because he has to killing him with Ellie's mom's knife and I'm not saying what Joel's doing is right I'm not saying that you don't put a kid under and kill them without their consent no it's 14. you don't [ __ ] do that in my opinion before you put her under you explain exactly what will happen and if she can sense then I would say what Joel's doing is absolutely wrong 100 Terrible No I'm just gonna hold on could have saved maybe but it isn't for you to decide for you so what would she decide you didn't ask her foreign you could have asked her and you didn't and you know it it's not too late even now even after what you've done we can still find a way oh my God I'm just holding on to these armrests for dear life what it's all right you're with me take it slow the drugs are still wearing off oh this was the fireflies and then what drugs they were running some tests on you and some others turns out there's a whole lot more like you people that are immune dozens of them the doctors they couldn't make any of it work they've actually they've stopped looking for a cure where are my clothes Raiders attacked the hospital I barely got you out of there we'll find you some new ones on the way where people are hurt yes it's Marilyn okay I'm taking this home now see that's where I think he went wrong I'm sorry if somebody lied to her I don't know if she could have handled the truth of what he did you just come after her oh my God the whole situation is so fraught well she got us close enough we got to walk the rest of the way probably about a five hour hike and we can manage that I'm glad they found her some clothes well Sarah and I used to hike like this all the time she was a big climber or scampering that's probably the right word that girl she'd see a big rod and just she would have liked you not to say the two year the same definitely different kids hostile she was a lot more I want to say girly and I'm not saying that you're not girly I'm not yeah you're not she had a killer smile again not saying that you don't you know why I think she'd like you so hard because you're funny I think you would have made her laugh anyway I bet you would have liked her back but I would have when I got bit in the mall I wasn't on my own my best friend was there and she got bit too if we didn't know what to do and she says you can just wait it out feel poetic and just lose our minds together and then she did and I had to I can't imagine that her name was Riley and she was the first to die and then it was Tess and then Sam that's not on you I know it looks sometimes things don't work out the way we hope swear to me that everything you said about the fireflies is true I swear okay [Music] what a freaking show this has been what a season I am beyond impressed oh my God just rip out my heart tear it up into tiny little pieces and then stomp on it a bit you know why don't you just shiggles why don't you if you stayed this long you may as well know that this is wine in this cup my God they got me good they got me good and this is coming from someone who's played the game they got me good even in this episode I have a lot of thoughts on let me just tell you wow what a show this has been my God I am but I loved it I loved it so much I especially loved this last episode I love the way they used Ashley Johnson I love the way they interpreted Joel's fight through the Firefly hospital that was so brilliant I love the way they use their sound design and their soundtrack to really make you feel that sense of numb senseless violence that had to take place for him to fight his way to Ellie without having to recreate the fight scenes from the game hoverbatim man when the doctor gets killed I was really impressed with the way they kind of fleshed that out a bit it's really interesting to see the moral quandary between Joel and Marlene and you guys probably heard of my vague opinions on the matter but I think something that this show does really well is the story in general is that there's really no one right good side You could argue that the fireflies are in the right because they're trying to save the human race but then again they did not get informed consent from Ellie you could say that Joel's in the right he's protecting his family you could say that is what Ellie would have wanted from what she had said previously let's finish what we started she's all about it but then again she doesn't know they never told her exactly what it was gonna cost her which it's one thing to say when you don't have death staring you directly in the face oh yeah totally I would have wanted that but in the moment when it's time almost like the foreshadowing they did with Joel saying that he was ready to go he had the gun against his head and then he flinched and he doesn't know why they didn't give Ellie the chance to flinch they didn't give her the opportunity to but that isn't to say that what Joel did was right anyway you could go back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and I have I didn't write myself a script for this so I don't know what I'm saying but just I love the fact that nothing is simple because in life nothing's really simple it just gives it that much more je ne sais quoi ah be sad it's over now I have to wait for season two uh I'm not sure what I'm gonna be reacting to next but I've been really enjoying doing
