Eating for a Full Day of CrossFit Games Training

[Music] thank you good morning come on in Mac say hi say hello I'm actually excited let's get some light in here haven't had you guys over for a little morning routine action in a while so we figured we would show you what that looks like usually wake up around 8 A.M Joanna's already left for work Max and I have a little bit of a slower start will come out eat breakfast go for a walk and then head to the gym Max gets to eat first he's got his new low Maxi hungry brother Alex come here come eat come eat your breakfast bud while Max eats I'll get set up I eat a pretty hefty breakfast I try to get in about 1300 calories well I don't try to get that in that just so happens to be what my breakfast routine ends up being I do my own overnight oats I'll usually make like five of them on Sundays so I have them ready to go throughout the week I'll tell you the recipe for that in a second but I'll do the overnight oats honey crisp apple the only kind that I'll eat anymore and some chicken sausage toss those in the air fryer put that on an English muffin with strawberry jam I'll do two chicken maple sausages everything else ready to go usually before I eat anything in the morning I'll try to drink big glass of cold water lots of water starting early and then I'm really feeling crazy lately I've been drinking some of this stuff strong coffee it's just like a instant coffee mix that has some protein in it tastes pretty good and then an English muffin with some jelly and those chicken sausages usually I'll have a banana we're out of bananas today so I might replace it with a mango that came off our tree in the front yard which is pretty cool I loved my mornings with this dude boy go get a toy go get a toy I'm also excited we just yesterday got our outdoor dining table that we've been waiting on for a while so we can eat breakfast out there in the backyard which will be very nice hi Chihuahua hot muffin's good to go I like mine nice and crispy let's get some jam on there is it jelly or is it Jam this says premium spread jelly or Jam in the comments and don't put that dirty joke I know what you're thinking a tablespoon roughly and then some chicken sausages but I don't know sweet and savory I like it I think it's good you could either go full sandwich crush it down or you could go half and half I'm just gonna go full I'm not in a macro phase right now where I'm getting as many as when we're like deep deep deep in the heat of training when we were prepping for semi-finals I was getting like five to six hundred grams of carbs per day and so I would put a scoop of this on each side of the English muffin we're just easing our way back into training and games prep so macros right now with Mike Malloy our 450 grams of carbs 200 grams of protein and 100 grams of fat roughly we'll save the extra scoop of jelly jam for the oats in which I usually put one scoop of peanut butter one scoop of jelly I don't put it beforehand in like the overnight portion of the oats because they both get really really solid the peanut butter as well and don't mix into the oats very well but there you go I like to just stir it around and voila good to go all right we got everything let's head out back for the very first meal ever eaten on our outdoor dining table all right we got the goods let's take it to the Great Outdoors oh feels good we've been slowly piecing together the backyard and I think this was kind of the big final missing components so MyFitnessPal I already have this is a little hack if you use my fitness pal to track your macro isn't even ever done this I'll create some meals that I eat consistently that way you're not having to add all the individual components in every day so under my meals I have one titled notes which is a combination of Noah's oats pretty good it is 844 calories so this little bowl alone has 127 grams of carbs 19 grams of fat and 44 grams of protein it consists of 100 grams of quick oats 100 grams of frozen berries scoop of peanut butter scuba jelly 200 milliliters of low-fat oat milk one scoop of protein and a tablespoon of honey so I'll add that in and then the English muffin the jelly the chicken sausage we've got our apple mango and our strong coffee this is a 1460 calorie breakfast it's pretty significant 220 grams of carbs 35 grams of fat 76 grams of protein sounds like a lot and it is but I'm heading to the gym to train immediately after this so it's all fuel that will be utilized let's dig in [Music] this boogie yeah very nice boy come here puppy whoa kind of fell out there Max come on bubba let's go inside hello last week was the first time I worked I can't remember what we did a bunch of squats and I was like oh but I think I went through the adjustment phase and my text never heard it didn't even do it bike um six second Sprint 24 seconds easy and then at the 30 second Mark you jump off and pick up a sandbag and just hold it for 30 seconds I'm gonna do that 10 reps do that 10 rounds and then the next one is same exact thing on the Echo Bike six second Sprint 24 seconds easy 30. second Mark so like so you're getting six pedals two actually maybe we're getting like more than a couple of pedals a second Groove life part of the routine every day switch the gold wedding band for the Groove life now we're good to go the hardest part of this workout is the setup chaos that thing weighs more than you do that weighs more than you you could probably fit inside of that thing Kobe Nairobi oh don't get smacked dude [Music] game is training day two and this guy's already abusing puppies you guys should see what it's like games training just brings out a whole nother side of me an animal yeah [Music] what's wrong with that guy's face [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] one best one [Music] ready for this move coming in huh [Music] that was Heavy did I do a good job can I get some Knuckles it's like a toothpick here we go fellas last one fast one three two [Music] hey wait again a little prickly sticker even though Dan isn't in the play one in his armpit out [Music] actually all right [Music] jumps are pretty metabolic you're good bring your shoulders up a little bit can't see a walk wasn't that bad oh that's kind of just good practice of Hansen walking under fatigue and trying a new movement because 259. I haven't done a backward roll to support since probably 2000 2015 when I was in the grid league on the LA Reign throwback I've always done them bless you with a kip like low Rings kick my feet up turn over the Rings and catch some people can do it on the low rings and like slow roll over I haven't figured that out yet I haven't tried this in forever I'm just gonna wing it hopefully I don't get hurt let's see weird to orient yourself in space in a way that you're not used to literally you're like flying through space trying to keep track of where your body is and where you need it to be but to get that on my first try is reassuring [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] thank you we've got 15 sets of a 30-second Jog and 90 seconds kind of recovery walk which is little two minute blocks 15 times 30 minutes of weighted vest running just the initial exposure to that leading up to the old games because you never know what they're gonna throw at you start your mom watch in three two one go [Music] back come here give me hug give me hugs oh good boy hi we're done we're done for the day 30 minutes done and Dustin I know come here don't get all dirty let's go for a cool down walk in addition to performing the best that I can at the CrossFit Games I would also like to be the most jacked dude at the CrossFit games which is a tall order because there's a lot of really Jack dudes but I'm gonna do a little finisher as I've been adding the last few days this time I'm gonna go five sets of 20 push-ups 20 sit-ups 100 of each just for the poop So It Begins [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] I'm gonna go in in my shorts today because I'm rocking white undies and you guys not that you don't deserve that kind of content just don't think it's the reason that you're here might be wrong it's set at 46. watch out Bubba oh I would say when I'm in a training rhythm of training five days a week pretty hard I'll probably do it three or four days out of the week today's Tuesday and this is day two of plunging now that it's getting really really hot out in like middle of the summer here in Miami it also just feels good to cool your body down after being overheated all day hi baby hi welcome home thanks I was hoping you'd come give me a smooch see you how are you how are you guys good cold all right Max it's your turn come here come here you want to go in [Music] come here let's go oh he does look at this oh is that chili boba [Music] who that was coming good boy hey does it feel good to get cold boy good boy here are some of the snacks that I will eat throughout the day when I'm training these are super easy carbs to take down applesauce on a pouch like this type of RX bar some dried fruit a little pretzel and hummus oftentimes I'll also do sandwiches some like potato bread and turkey didn't do that today so I'm gonna try to have a bigger dinner it's dinner time and what we are cooking up tonight some trifecta we've got Trifecta white rice and the fully cooked bison Burgers I'll do Rice as my carbs the Bison Burgers as the protein Source I'm gonna put those in the air fryer just to kind of heat them up rice goes in the microwave and then we got some brioche buns from Whole Foods those will be for the burgers add some avocado some ketchup some greens we're good to go ah I can't do it it's not strong enough there we go this rice is actually as silly as it sounds probably one of our favorite things from Trifecta it's just so good it's like really fluffy tasty rice and all you have to do is throw it in the microwave for like two to three minutes and it's good to go oopsies boom he's peasy plug it in let's go same thing as this morning 365 for eight minutes all right while the food is cooking up just wanted to thank you guys for tuning in today hopefully you enjoyed a day of eating and games prep with us here at home in Miami Florida we're gonna probably post a few more videos of game streaming and some other fun stuff leading up to the CrossFit games which are going down in about two months right at the beginning of August in Madison Wisconsin it's my 10th year competing at the games you know what they say last one best one hopefully it's a good one can't wait to see you there
